#1 Because to most politicians in DC, all that philosophical mumbo-jumbo about true faith and allegiance and the idea of being a public servant is just the theater script to use to get in the seat. After that, they treat the American taxpayers as the tax farm to be plowed and harvested in the never ending ATM schemes some lobbyists or special interests think up.
