[FOXNEWS]A North Carolina police officer was recovering Saturday night after being shot while on duty, becoming the fourth officer shot in the Charlotte area in a little more than a week, according to reports.
Cpl. Frank Lee Whittington Jr., a 14-year veteran of the Kings Mountain Police Department, underwent surgery and was expected to be OK, Kings Mountain police Chief Lisa Proctor said, according to WCNC-TV in Charlotte.
Whittington was shot while responding to a report of a suspicious person on the back porch of a house. Proctor said she didn’t have details about the shooting.
"We are very thankful that he is still alive and that we're not planning funeral number three in the last week and a half for another law enforcement officer," she said.

Hitmen Killed in Shootouts with Kabul Police
[KhaamaPress] The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Sunday that two Lions of Islam who tried to plan and organize targeted liquidations in the Farza district of Kabul province using a cycle of violence, were killed by the police.
According to the statement, the two men attacked coppers in Qala-e-Mohammad Jan area of Farza district of Kabul province on Saturday.
Both are reported to have been killed as a result of the police retaliation.
Meanwhle, two Kalashnikov assault rifles, a pistol, and a cycle of violence were seized from them.
Insecurity in Kabul has escalated in recent months, coinciding with peace talks in Doha.
Explosion Rocks Afghan Capital, Killing 9
[KhaamaPress] At least nine people killed and further a number wounded after an explosion rocked Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday morning, local police confirmed.
According to sources, nine people have been killed and further six others were wounded in the explosion in Police District 5 (PD5) of the city.
The explosion occurred in Spin Kalay square in PD5 of the city.
Ferdaws Faramarz, deputy spokesman of the Interior Ministry, said three vehicles caught fire at the location of the blast, but the cause remains unclear.
The explosion targeted the vehicle of Haji Khan Mohammad Wardak, a member of parliament from Kabul, according to report. Wardak survived the attack.
No group or individual has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Earlier, the Afghan National Army (ANA) has discovered and sized at let 43 rockets during an operation in capital city Kabul, said the Ministry of Defense in a statement Sunday.
According to the statement, officials discovered these D30 model of rockets from Khak Jabar district of Kabul on Saturday.
“#ANA discovered and seized 45 D30 rockets ammunition in Khak Jabar district of Kabul province yesterday,” said the MoD in a tweet.
Officials did not provide further details but said “Taliban had planned to use the rockets in terrorist activities in Kabul.”
Taliban did not immediately comment on the incident.
The explosion targeted the vehicle of Haji Khan Mohammad Wardak, a member of parliament from Kabul. Wardak survived the attack.

A woman was rubbed out and several others were maimed when the turbans opened fire on those fleeing into the bush, he said.
Jakana, which lies along the 120-kilometre highway linking Maiduguri and Damaturu, the capital of neighbouring Yobe state, is an ISWAP stronghold.
Abductions of civilians by the jihadists in the area have been on the rise, prompting increased military deployments which have failed to end the abductions.

In 2007 Mark Allen Campbell, who now prefers to go by Nicole Rose Campbell, of Waupun, Wisconsin was arrested for sexually assaulting and abusing his 10-year-old daughter and was sentenced to 34 years in prison. In December 2020 a federal judge declared that Campbell at age 49, now identifying as a transgender woman, has a Constitutional right to gender affirmation surgery, paid by the taxpayers.
Racine Correctional Institute, a men's prison, where Campbell has been housed has allowed Campbell to dress in women's clothing and wear make-up. Campbell has received taxpayer-funded hormone treatments and counseling since being incarcerated. In 2013, six years into the prison term, Campbell requested gender confirmation surgery.
At the time, Campbell's request was denied. In 2016, Campbell filed a lawsuit claiming that Campbell's Eighth Amendment rights had been violated as Department of Corrections officials were "indifferent" to Campbell's "medical needs." The suit claims that Campbell was forced to suffer under the cruel and unusual punishment of not allowing Campbell to undergo drastic body modification surgery that would destroy Campbell's reproductive system and sexual health.
Castration is the proper punishment for what Mr. Campbell has done. The scientific research shows that with time most of those who undergo sex change surgery come to bitterly regret it, underlined by the poor quality of opposite sex plastic surgery and the constant pain that results. I can live with Mr. Campbell spending the rest of his life in physical and mental pain as a result of physical castration, even if the taxpayers have to pay for it in the guise of mental health whatever.

IT will be moved to Taycheedah Correctional (women's prison) where the inmates have a much lower opinion than their male counterparts regarding sexual predators.

[RT] Multiple rockets have targeted the Iraqi capital’s heavily fortified Green Zone on Sunday evening. The US embassy’s C-RAM air defense systems were engaged to intercept the missile attack, which it said resulted in no casualties.Footage published on the social media show the night skies over Baghdad illuminated with flashes of light as rapid-fire guns of the US C-RAM systems were used to intercept the incoming projectiles. At least three rockets were targeting the American diplomatic missions, the Iraqi security officials told AP, saying they were launched by an "outlaw group."
Most if not all of the rockets were apparently destroyed mid-air, and the US Embassy in Iraq later said that it resulted only in some minor property damage. The embassy then called on Iraqi leaders to prevent any such future attacks and to prosecute those responsible.
There are a network of pro-Iranian groups in Iraq, including Kataib Hezbollah which is linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The groups also include Asaib Ahl al-Haq, Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, the Badr Organization and Rab’Allah, as well as a series of other small groups. Many of these are linked to the Popular Mobilization Forces or Hashd al-Shaabi. They are in turn paid salaries by the Iraqi government as an official paramilitary force.
This makes them a cross between Lebanese Hezbollah and the IRGC in Iraq. Many use symbols similar to the IRGC. Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, head of Kataib Hezbollah and deputy of the PMF was killed by a US Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... in January 2020 when driving with IRGC Quds Force head Qasem Soleimani. The US said they were plotting attacks days after militias tried to storm the US embassy.
The rocket attacks began in May 2019. However tensions go back much further. These groups carried out attacks on the US after the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Muhandis was wanted by the US for decades in connection with terror attacks in Kuwait. Qais Khazali, head of Asaib Ahl al-Haq, was once detained by the US at Camp Cropper in 2007. These groups have vowed to eject the US from Iraq. Even though the PMF and US both fought ISIS the US is seen by Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. The Trump administration increased sanctions on Iran. Pro-Iranian militias killed a US contractor near Kirkuk with a rocket attack in December 2019 and also killed three US-led Coalition personnel in March. The US responded with airstrikes.
The US has warned numerous times against more rocket attacks. In the spring of 2020 the US withdrew from a half dozen facilities in Iraq, including K-1, Q-West, Taji and other bases, and then installed C-RAM, an air defense system, in Baghdad at the embassy compound. The embassy compound in the Green Zone is a favorite target of the militias, particularly the Union III base near it. Another facility at the airport is also a frequent target.
The Iranian-backed militias use 107mm katyusha rockets often mounted on purpose built metal launchers that are placed in the back of white Bongo-style trucks. This is a unique setup used by the militias. In a rare event in September the Iranian-backed groups use Grad rockets ...Soviet-developed 122-mm rockets, usually launched from trucks. Newer versions are reported to have a range of up to 30 km.... to target the vicinity of Erbil International Airport in the Kurdistan autonomous region in Iraq, a message to the US that even if the US leaves Baghdad’s embassy and moves forces to the Kurdistan region, the US will not be safe.
The Kurdish region is more pro-American despite the accusations of US betrayal of Kurds in Kirkuk after the Kurdish referendum in October 2017 and the US failure to defend Kurds in eastern Syria in October 2019.

[Jerusalem Post] The hacker group Pay2Key claimed Sunday night that it had successfully hacked a range of Israeli defense industry companies, including the largest Israeli airpower defense corporation, Israel Aerospace Industries.
There were signs on social media and elsewhere that the hack was part of an ongoing and concerted Iranian campaign to hack Israeli companies.
The IAI said that the subject is currently being investigated.
Check Point has referred to Pay2Key as an elite hacker group that steals data and threatens to leak it if its target does not cooperate.
Pay2Key has already posted information relating to IAI, including to its cyber chief.
Earlier in December, the giant insurance company Shirbit was hacked by the hacker group Black Shadow.
Over several dramatic days, Black Shadow steadily leaked customer data to try to get Shirbit to pay it ransom money.
The insurance agency never paid, though its future as a business is also deeply uncertain, including that Israeli defense officials who had used it have loudly discussed switching to a different insurer.
Check Point also published a report earlier in December that 141 Israeli companies had been cyberattacked in November and 137 in October, a major spike in attacks.
Some view this as Iran's response to Israel's alleged involvement in recently assassinating Iran's nuclear program chief Mohsen Fakhrizadeh as well as other assassinations and sabotage.
