#2 Too bad France doesn't have to have a "...commitment to peace and stability, democracy and economic and social development."

Specifically France has thwarted a truly democratic process in EU elections and administration and its socialism thwarts economic development.

LOL. So, in essence, the veto doesn't mean much, does it?

#4 Eh, the veto *means* that France (alongside with every other country) reserves the last word. Nothing inconsistent about that.

These are comments meant to reassure the French population who largely don't want Turkey to enter.
