#1 Seriously there are actually only three reasons:
1. You're as corrupt as the rest of them.
2. You're not personally corrupt, but you're willing to ignore their corruption to get your own pet hobbyhorse taken care of.
3. You're too f'ing stupid to realize how corrupt they are.
