#2 I heard of a cop that did this. He had to shoot a guy who was trying to kill his wife, and then the wife filed on him for killing the husband. He beat the charge, and then every year on the anniversary he stopped by the cemetery and 'watered' the grave.
When the wife died and was interred there, he made one last trip. He said he felt like he'd made his point.
