-Lurid Crime Tales-
Coon Rapids man charged with threatening to kill U.S. senator
Idiot.
[STARTRIBUNE] A federal grand jury indictment alleges that a Coon Rapids man made violent mostly peaceful threats against a U.S. senator.

Brendon Michael Daugherty, 35, appeared Friday in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis on charges of threatening to murder a United States official and interstate transmission of a threat.

Public court records do not identify the target of Daugherty's alleged threats other than to say the senator is not from Minnesota.

Daugherty remains in federal custody without bail in the Sherburne County jail. He's due back in court on Tuesday.

According to the indictment:

On June 11, Daugherty left two voice mail messages on the field office telephone of the senator.

In his first message, Daugherty said, "You and the Republican Party should be proud that you're pushing me to become a domestic terrorist. Have a nice [expletive] day. Can't wait to kill ya."

In the second message, he said, "I also just wanted to note, thank god the Republican Party is against gun control laws, because it would keep guns out of the hands of a person that was disabled and volatile like I am, but you guys are totally against that. So I may actually get to carry out my nefarious goals."

Field office staff retrieved and recorded the messages and reported them to U.S. Capitol Police.

On Sept. 2, FBI agents spoke to Daugherty at his home. He told the agents he made the calls because the senator was "doing a bunch of stupid [expletive] with gun control" and that he wants politicians to "feel a little bit pressured."

Court records show that Daugherty was convicted in October 2018 of two felony counts for threatening on successive days in April to burn down a Pearle Vision store in Maple Grove and harm the employees. Daugherty was mad, according to the charges, over owing $80 for replacement eyeglasses.

Daugherty's criminal history also includes two convictions for theft and one each for aggravated robbery, burglary, property damage, credit card fraud and fifth-degree assault.

Some quick observations:
Given his criminal record, how did he obtain a firearm legally? Because it is clear, Honest citizens are having a harder time exercising their 2nd amendment RIGHT than a violent criminal who is prohibited.

What is the (R) US Senator's name? I seem to have missed it in the article

Was it omitted because the assassination attempt might help with his/her next election or other (R)'s running in the area? By omitting the (R)'s name, it does avoid free media exposure.

When did the DOJ wake up and start arresting LSD's threatening (R)'s ?

What about the dozens of Congressional members and MSM hosts that have done so over the last 6 years using FCC regulated media?

Why weren't those MSM (CNN, MS-NBC, & etc.) channels that allowed such violent comments, heavily fined? and the person arrested and charged?

Afghanistan
Taliban Conducts Nighttime Door-to-Door Search
[KhaamaPress] Local sources in the central and southern Afghan provinces of Parwan and Kandahar, respectively, have said that the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
has begun carrying out sweeping door-to-door searches.

In the Kolami area of the Salang district of Parwan province, the Taliban are said to have first arrested men and searched homes while breaking in, according to sources in Parwan.

The Taliban stormed the village of Kolami on Sunday night, the 18th of September, imprisoned men there, and searched the homes, according to domestic media reports, confirming this approach of the Taliban.

The residents of this Kolami village in the Salang district of Parwan are reportedly considering a mass evacuation because they are concerned about the Taliban nighttime searches.

Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, Bossy was furiously chewing her cud and thinking...
Kandahar province house-to-house searches have reportedly begun, according to sources in the province of Kandahar, in southern Afghanistan.

The Taliban has acknowledged conducting house searches in this province, and the Kandahar chief of police stated on Monday that the Taliban are not operating alone in their activities; they are joined by neighborhood elders and religious scholars.

People are concerned if the Taliban had other targets in mind, despite the Taliban’s assertion that they perform thorough house searches across Afghanistan to find criminals and track down illegal or state-owned firearms.

Frerichs’ sister, Charlene Cakora, of Lombard, Ill., thanked the government for working to free her brother.

The Taliban official released, Bashir Noorzai, was convicted in 2005 of smuggling $50 million worth of heroin from Afghanistan and Pakistan into the US and was serving a life sentence.

Noorzai told reporters in Kabul that he had been released from an unspecified prison in the US, but other Taliban officials said he had been held at a detention facility in Guantanamo Bay.

Kenya Police detonate bomb in Mandera amid fears of more attacks
[ShabelleMedia] Kenyan Security agencies operating near the Kenya- Somalia border at the weekend escaped an attack after stumbling on an bomb set on the roadside.

The improvised bomb was ready to explode when they spotted it in Kulun, Mandera County.

Police said the officers were headed towards the Bulla Hawa border when they spotted newly disturbed soil on the road with footprints.

Locals had tipped off police that there were suspicious men who had been spotted in the area on September 17 Saturday morning digging the site.

The team used detectors to detect the presence of the bomb.

Bomb experts managed to detonate it safely. Witnesses said the device was big enough to cause deaths and destruction.

Police said they believe the bomb had been set up by al-Shabaab

, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...

gunnies operating in the area and was targeting a team that was using the route.

This comes amid reports the terrorist group at the weekend graduated dozens of brigades ready for a mission.

A photo released by the terror group confirms the organization’s top leadership is still intact and alive and features Abu Mus’ab, Ali Mohammed Rage, and other commanders

In the Mandera incident, police said the al-Shabaab forces of Evil who set up the explosive were targeting government vehicles using the route.

It is the same place where Kenya has lost dozens of security agents in similar attacks.

Officials said the forces of Evil are exploiting the low-cost strategy and deploying it near forwarding operating bases or main supply routes to attack their targets.

This is happening especially in the Northern part of the country and Somalia.

The forces of Evil say they are conducting the attacks to put pressure on Kenyan troops in Somalia to leave.

However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package...
security officials have heightened security operations to tame their plans. There has been a lull of attacks since after the August 9 polls but officials fear the trend may come back.

"Based on intelligence coming in, we are ready for a series of more attacks," said one security official aware of the trend.

Security agencies have enhanced their surveillance and intelligence capabilities against suspicious individuals and organized gangs.

Kenya Defence Forces troops are among those under Amisom that are operating in Somalia.

They aim to suppress al-Shabaab activities in the region.

KDF went to Somalia in October 2011.

Kenya’s incursion into Southern Somalia started after the kidnapping of two Spanish women, who were working for MSF at the Dadaab refugee camp.

The abductions were carried out by the gunnies who the troops planned to push away under Operation Linda Nchi.

Two years later, the troops managed to take control of Kismayo
...a port city in the southern Lower Juba province of Somalia, at the extreme southern end of the country (always assuming Somalia can be called a country). It is the commercial capital of the autonomous Jubaland region....
port under Operation Sledge Hammer.

The government saw the attacks as a threat to the country’s illusory sovereignty as it targeted tourism, which is an economic lifeline.

In Somalia, civilians take arms to join fight against Al-Shabaab
[Garowe] Tired of persistent attacks and raids, thousands of civilians in Somalia have chosen to pick arms and directly confront the al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
murderous Moslems, in what has significantly changed the dynamics and probably resuscitated the fight against the group.

Witnesses said at least 45 al-Shabaab gunnies were killed by government-allied militia and some were subsequently beheaded as citizens waged retaliatory attacks against the group which has been controlling Central and Southern Somalia.

For a month, the government in partnership with local militia has heightened operations against al-Shabaab in the Hiiraan, Galgaduud, and Bay regions of Somalia, killing dozens of the gunnies in the process.

The al-Qaeda-linked group has been destroying wells, and houses and even beheading innocent civilians, a move which triggered revolt from members of the public who have been immensely affected. The Somali National Army has also been claiming credit for the deaths.

"Al-Shabaab is not strong, it just burns people, beheads people, and puts their heads in the streets just to terrorize," said Ahmed Abdulle, a Hiran elder, in an interview with Rooters.

"Now, we are doing the same: we have ordered the beheading of al-Shabaab fighters," he told Rooters.

Although the latest retaliatory attacks could not be independently verified, videos making rounds on social media showed heads of the gunnies scattered everywhere in various villages. The gunnies were in their usual black headgear and military fatigue.

"Al-Shabaab put us in hell...So our people decided to liberate themselves... My daughter is also fighting in the frontline, she has an AK-47 on her shoulder," resident Halima Ismail said.

Somali Interior Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi did not immediately respond to requests for comment. An al-Shabaab front man was not immediately available for comment.
"I can say no more!"
"This week, we have recaptured nine villages," said Ahmed Shire, the Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
information minister. "It is a big revolution by Galmudug state."

In a statement, state media reported that in collaboration with the Somali National Army and local residents killed more than 45 Death Eaters of al-Shabaab in the Yasooman area under the Bula-Burde district. The operation still continues.

On the other hand, the National Armed Forces rubbed out nine gunnies of al-Shabaab after an operation in the Warmahan area of the Lower Shabelle region where they were trying to organize them secretly, the state-owned media added.

The gunnies had killed over 22 people who were traveling in trucks carrying food within Hiiraan, necessitating the revolt from locals, who believe al-Shabaab gunnies are weak and can be exterminated with serious operations within the country.

Terrorists Abduct 40 Worshippers, Residents From Cherubim And Seraphim Church During Vigil In Kaduna, Demand N200million Ransom

Terrorists stormed the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, during a vigil programme at the Bayan Kasuwa quarters of Kasuwan Magani Town, Kaduna State, the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) confirmed on Monday.

The union noted that the gunnies kidnapped over 40 worshippers including residents of the area, according to a statement by its National President, Awemi Maisamari, made available to journalists in Kaduna, the state capital on Monday.

Maisamari in the statement said that the gunnies reached out to families of the victims and were demanded N200million ransom
...that’s US$465,659.91, according to the internet (1 USD = 429.498 Nigerian nairas)...
before the abductees could be set free.

SOKAPU explained that victims were kidnapped on September 12 and 13 of this month at Kasuwan Magani area of Kajuru LGA, which is some few kilometres away from the state capital.

Maisamari said, "There is still no breathing space for communities in Southern Kaduna. Terrorists, jihadists, bandidos and armed herdsmen have continued to plunder and wreck communities in the southern part of the state.

"The latest are the mass abductions that took place on September 12 and 13, 2022, at Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru LGA of Southern Kaduna. Kasuwan Magani is about 20km south of Kaduna metropolis on the Kaduna-Kafanchan Express road and hosts the biggest weekly market in Kaduna State.

"On the first day, September 12, six people were kidnapped in a night raid by the gunnies at Ungwan Fada part of the town.

"With no measures put in place to forestall recurrence, the following day, September 13, the gunnies stormed the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, during a night vigil programme at the Bayan Kasuwa quarters of Kasuwan Magani Town, at around midnight.

"They succeeded in carting away more than sixty people from the church and neighboring houses. However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
they were not able to take all of them away because some were very little children, too aged or had health challenges.

"While retreating with their captors to their camps, they attacked Janwuriya village, a few kilometres from Kasuwan Magani, and kidnapped two more persons. As of now, 45 people have so far been confirmed kidnapped.

"Yesterday, however, September 18, 2022, the abductors made contact with some people in the town via phone calls and claimed that only 40 persons were held by them.

"They demanded a ransom of N200million, but negotiation is still ongoing. We do not know the identity or the fate of the five missing persons yet."

-based terror group and planned to target Israelis and destabilize West Bank.

Israeli security forces broke up an alleged Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, terrorist cell planning to carry out attacks in the West Bank, arresting seven of its members earlier this month, the Shin Bet security service revealed Monday.

The cell received its directions from Yahya Amer Muhammad Abu Saifan, 26, a Hamas terrorist living in the Gaza Strip involved in recruiting Paleostinians in the West Bank, the Shin Bet said.

The Shin Bet said the seven members, from the Nablus area and Hebron, had practiced shooting and had conducted tests with bombs. Several firearms and materials used for making explosives were seized following their arrests.

The service said Abu Saifan had provided the cell with instructions and funding to purchase materials for building bombs.

The members of the cell, Masab Himouni, Ahmed Abu Daoud, Izz a-Din a-Zin, Imad Abu Khalaf, and Abdullah Quasma from Hebron, and Mamoun Hanani and Kamaal Hanani, from the village of Beit Furik near Nablus, were charged with serious security offenses, the Shin Bet said.

The service warned that the Gaza-based terrorist group was increasingly trying to carry out attacks in the West Bank and Israel.

"These arrests and investigations reveal, once again, the continuous efforts of Hamas operatives from the Gaza Strip and abroad, whose goal is to destabilize the [West Bank] and raise the level of violence on the ground, while recruiting terrorist operatives in the [West Bank] in order to advance attacks," the Shin Bet said.

In raids across the West Bank early Monday, troops detained 14 wanted Paleostinians, the IDF said.

Rockets target US military base in Syria
More on this story from yesterday.
[Rudaw] The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Sunday that several rockets targeted one of its military bases in northeast Syria, without resulting in any damages.

At least three rockets targeted the Green Village military installation, housing coalition forces in Deir ez-Zor province, on Sunday evening, according to a statement from CENTCOM, which described the offensive as having "failed to strike US or Coalition forces or equipment."

The statement said that the launch point of the rockets was identified approximately five kilometers away from the base, along with a fourth rocket and rocket tubes, adding that US forces in the area have initiated a probe into the attack.

The Green Village site is located in Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria, within areas controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), north of the Euphrates River. Regime forces operate across the river. Islamic State

There have been at least 19 rocket and drone attacks against sites housing American troops in Iraq and Syria this year, according to data compiled by Rudaw English. Such attacks are often attributed to Iran-backed militias and factions, but have never been claimed.

On August 25, CENTCOM announced the killing of four suspected Iran-backed turbans in northeast Syria, in response to an attack a day prior that targeted the US forces’ Mission Support Site Conoco and Mission Support Site Green Village.

New protests in Iran over woman's death after morality police arrest, 5 protesters said killed
[An Nahar] Fresh protests broke out Monday at several universities in Iran's capital, local media reported, over the death of a young woman who had been arrested by the "morality police" that enforces a strict dress code.

The rallies came a day after police made arrests and fired tear gas in the woman's home province of Kurdistan, where some 500 people had protested, some smashing car windows and torching rubbish bins, reports said.

Public anger has grown since authorities on Friday announced the death of Mahsa Amini, 22, in a hospital after three days in a coma, following her arrest by Tehran's morality police during a visit to the capital.

Such police units enforce a dress code in the Islamic republic that demands women wear headscarves in public.

It also bans tight trousers, ripped jeans, clothes that expose the knees and brightly colored outfits.

Police have insisted there was "no physical contact" between officers and the victim.

Tehran police chief General Hossein Rahimi said Monday that the woman had violated the dress code, and that his colleagues had asked her relatives to bring her "decent clothes."

He again rejected "unjust accusations against the police" and said that "the evidence shows that there was no negligence or inappropriate behavior on the part of the police".

"This is an unfortunate incident and we wish never to see such incidents again."

Students rallied, however, including at the capital's Tehran and Shahid Beheshti Universities, demanding "clarification" on how Amini died, according to Fars and Tasnim news agencies.

Protests were reported in other universities elsewhere.

Her death has reignited calls to rein in morality police actions against women suspected of violating the dress code, in effect since the 1979 Islamic revolution.

Filmmakers, artists, athletes and political and religious figures have taken to social media to express their anger over the death, both inside and outside the country.

President Ebrahim Raisi, an ultra-conservative former judiciary chief who came to power last year, has ordered an inquiry into Amini's death.
The Times of Israel adds:
Iranian security forces killed five protesters on Monday, according to a rights group, amid widespread unrest over the death of a young woman who were tossed into the calaboose for violating the country’s conservative dress code.

The morality police detained the 22-year-old Mahsa Amini last Tuesday for not covering her hair with the Islamic headscarf, known as hijab, which is mandatory for Iranian women. She died while in jug, setting off protests around the country.

Troops gave the demonstrators a whiff of grapeshot in Iran’s Kurdish region, according to a Kurdish group, the Hengaw Human Rights Organization.

Two of the killings occurred in Amini’s home city of Saqez. The other protesters were killed in the towns of Divandarreh and Dehgolan, the group said.

There has been no official mention of the deaths and the group’s claims have not been verified.

The group also reported 75 people maimed and at least 250 arrests in a number of cities.

The rights organization posted videos and photos it said showed fatalities, injuries and arrests during the third day of demonstrations in the Kurdish cities in Western Iran.

Protesters are taking to the streets around the country, particularly in the Kurdish region. There are between 8 million and 10 million Iranian Kurds.

Israeli troops cross into Syria, fire at 'suspects' wounding one
[An Nahar] Israeli forces crossed into Syria on Monday and fired at four individuals who had "hurled objects along the border fence," wounding one of them, the army said.

Israel, which regularly carries out air strikes inside Syria's territory, rarely publicly acknowledges cross-border operations.

According to an Israeli army statement, "observation soldiers spotted four suspects" near Haspin in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, without providing any specific information on what they were throwing.

Israel Defense Forces "soldiers were dispatched to the scene, crossed the border and operated... by firing at one of the suspects' legs," the statement added.

The maimed suspect, whose condition wasn't immediately clear, was "evacuated by helicopter to a hospital" in Israel, the army said without mentioning what happened to the other three.

Israel rarely comments on its military actions in Syria, save for operations in direct response to what the army considers immediate threats to Israel's illusory sovereignty.
More from The Times of Israel:
A Syrian man was shot and seriously maimed by Israeli troops after he allegedly attempted to place mines along the border in the southern Golan Heights on Monday.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, soldiers monitoring surveillance cameras spotted four suspects hurling unidentified objects at the security barrier in the area.

The military later confirmed that the unidentified objects hurled at the border were anti-personnel mines.

In 2020, Israel accused Iran’s elite Quds Force of planting explosives in Israeli territory along the border.

In recent years Israel has conducted numerous strikes along the border targeting Hezbollah and Iranian efforts to entrench themselves in the country.

The Deputy head of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, Major General Oleg Yegorov said the air attacks destroyed three camps of the bandidos bandidos bad boys in Sheikh Yusef village, which lies in the Armanaz sub-district of the province.

He added that weapons depots and warehouses of the murderous Moslems were destroyed as a result. More than 45 murderous Moslems, including field commanders Bilal Saeed and Abu Dujan al-Diri, were also killed.

Yegorov noted that the slain takfiri
