#1 This would remove any legitimate reason for Hezbollah to maintain its armed militia thereby forcing it to become a purely political movement in the country

Is he really that naive? Or just pretending he is doing something since his lips are moving...

Well, at least he's calling for help! I think the best thing would be to work with Israel to reduce further casualties and let it run its course. Done in two weeks. Leave the terrorist prisoners in jail. Hezballah has tasted power and aren't going to be dislodged easily.

#4 The palsied faced one is impossibly spinning. If he can't function as a PM of a country under a (self)screwed up government, he should just quit. Instead, like the usual blathering Ayrab, he is pointing fingers everywhere else.

#5 Israel has already tried making concessions, and it didn't buy them a damned thing. All they got in return for Gaza was Kassam rockets. Arabs seem to like to play the game of having terrorists in their country, but claiming they have no control or influence over them.

Later Thursday, Saniora's office said the prime minister had been misquoted, adding that his words had been translated from English into Italian and that Corriere's journalist had chosen sentences that were not connected and did not report the literal meaning of what he had said.

According to the statement, the premier had said that international help was needed to persuade Israel to withdraw from the Chebaa Farms, a disputed territory that Lebanon claims and Hezbollah uses as a pretext for attacking Israeli forces.

"What the prime minister said was that the international community has not given the Lebanese government the chance to deal with the problem of Hezbollah weapons, since the continued presence of Israeli occupation of Lebanese lands in the Chebaa Farms region is what contributes to the presence of Hezbollah weapons," the statement said. "The international community must help us in (getting) an Israeli withdrawal from Chebaa Farms so we can solve the problem of Hezbollah's arms."

His tires must be bald by now.

#8 I rather doubt he would much like my method for disarming Hezbollah. It pretty much follows the way the Iraelis are going about it now, except it woudl expand the disarmign strikes to the Bekka valley and Damascus.

The occupation/Liberation would involve Lebanese. About 2 brigades of expatriot ones, armed and trained in the US, and made mostly of Druze and Christians. They get to own everything between the Litani river and the Israeli border, from the Med to the Golan for 60 months, no questions asked. Put Hindu troops from India there as UN Observers at the borders of the area. A hardened battalion of them are stationed outside Beruit as a QRF that strikes anything military that Hezbollah tries to obtain, use or posess. And a company of them, trained to Ranger standards gets to execute anywhere in Lebanon they are needed to destroy any military actions of the Syrian and Iranian agents in Lebanon.

The first brigade of this force is already beating on the door of the Israelis, asking to be formed and trained for occupation duty.

The Lebanese Minister of Defense warned Israel Thursday that if IDF ground forces are sent into southern Lebanon, Lebanese troops will fight along with the Hizbullah against Israel.
