WORLD MIL FORUM > US PLANS TO DEVELOP LARGE PHASED-ARRAY RADARS FOR USE IN "NEAR-SPACE". STRATOATMOSPHERIC AIRSHIPS.
"Near-Space" defined in Artic as 20-100 KMS above the Earth's Surface.
[ORBITSTRIKE = SPACE-STRIKE, SPACE-SHIELD [BMD] here].
The only thing higher would be U-2'S, SR-71's, AURORAS, + assorted FUTURE SPACE-X AIR = ORBITERS. Area 51 secret thingys.
* FYI FREEREPUBLIC > RUSSIA TO DE-ORBIT THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION [ISS], in 2020.
Since Russia has declared the POST-SHUTTLE PERIOD AS THE RETURN OF THE "ERA OF SOYUZ", gotta wonder what Space projects they have in mind.
POST-AUGUST 3RD + BEYOND = hopefully the US will not default, + NASA-JPL will be able to afford + ultimately deploy successful new LR space platforms via the Private Sector [NASA-Private Partnership]. |

No. NATO was and is morally superior in a Christian context. The Russians in the USSR knew this and folded, because they are at heart Christians.
Muslims are not, and will continue to smite someone until dead. Simply because they are not Christians, and do they respect individuals as independent agents before Christ.
Here we have a Christian force, NATO, thinking about people surviving, fighting a Muslim force, thinking about who is going to be smote. NATO was not designed to kill people. It was designed to kill tanks, trucks and automobiles.
BECAUSE IT RESPECTED HUMAN LIFE.
Conflict with Muslim death cults is not what NATO is intended to do. Fortunately, there are Muslims on the ground (Libyan rebels) who can do the dirty work of killing the other Muslims, that NATO cannot do.
Leave NATO to destroy tanks, trucks and automobiles in support of the Muslim rebels who will kill everyone, and soon you will discover that peace has occurred.
The peace that envelopes the Muslim people who have killed all of their foes.

TW: Violent deaths by firearms are down across the northern tier of Mexican states, except in Tamaulipas.
In fact, the security situation in Juarez has improved so much that the current mayor, Hector Murguia, is demanding the Juarez detachment of Policia Federal leave town.
The reduction of violent deaths may have to do with all the new Mexican Army troops deployed to the north, or to the end of Fast and Furious.

I read several weeks ago, how this pertains to ITAR
Wikipedia:
ITAR International Traffic in Arms Regulations
is a set of United States government regulations that control the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the United States Munitions List (USML). These regulations implement the provisions of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), and are described in Title 22 (Foreign Relations), Chapter I (Department of State), Subchapter M of the Code of Federal Regulations. The Department of State interprets and enforces ITAR. Its goal is to safeguard U.S. national security and further U.S. foreign policy objectives.
From a commenter at HotAir:
The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) apply to agencies and agents of the US Government as well as to individual citizens and private corporations. Trafficking, or facilitating the trafficking of arms to foreign countries without Dept. of State certification carries severe penalties. Ordering, or even approving of, such a clear violation of US law surely qualifies as a high crime or misdemeanor.

As most readers here are well aware, intelligence operations of this sort, run outside the continental United States require certain protocols and extensive operational documentation, ie, written Concepts of Operation (CONOPS), goals, objectives, coordinating elements, timelines, financial annexes, accompanying approvals, extensive legal reviews, and continual monitoring and reporting. Those protocols involve interagency coordinations and approvals at the highest levels of the US Government.
This entire 'Fast and Furious' fiasco has the potential, I say again potential, to take down Obama and his administration and might very well be today's headline grabber if it were not for the budget "crisis." Makes one wonder if the budget debacle is little more than a smoke screen for the administrations real.... "crisis." |

Oh, I think there will be a real "double dip", but it won't be another recession. We have been in a depression since 2009 and the Great Depression in the 30s had it's up and downs too. Ours will be the same until real economic strength, not stimulates comes back. The best way is less taxes and regulation, but it won't be an overnight fix and it isn't something the government can regulate into being. The private sector will pull things out but it will take time. |

There will be no double dip. The reason is, that the first dip never really turned up, the illusion of GDP growth since then is strictly due to government deficit spending. GDP would have to have shown real growth in order to go into a second dip.
A cutback in government spending will unmask all this. |

#2 - that wisdom should be the first paragraph of every article about the debt limit, that there is plenty of money coming into government coffers, just not enough to pay for BS like Dept. Education SWAT teams, Dept. Ag. rabbit enforcers, $1 billion in free money for dead beat unemployed home loaners, Obama's delusions of tax-payer funded grandeur, etc. etc. etc.
#8 -- we are in the middle of a great market manipulation, but it started more than a decade ago. |

A cynic looking at all this might come to the conclusion that we're seeing one of the greatest market manipulations in history. If Reid went on TV this afternoon and said that a deal was almost done, the Dow would pop 200 points, which would make anyone with foreknowledge of the announcement a potentially very rich man. When this is over I would like to see the Blind Squirrel Division of the SEC examine the the trading patterns of everyone inside the Beltway and all of their friends and kinfolk. Just in case the cynic is right. |

An amusing story from a marsupial park had a large open area with many different kinds of marsupials in it, from quite small to giants.
People would buy 'roo kibbles to feed to them, and when they would enter, the little, non-threatening marsupials would rush them. The giants would have to wait patiently in the rear for the people to come to them, as they had learned if they approached the people, the people would run away.
But the overall effect were layered zones, from small to large, with small children absolutely hypnotized by the little ones in front, and only brave adults eventually taking handfuls of goodies out to the bigguns. |

Oddly enough, this might be a real accident, as it would be wise for those military units sent to police border cities would not be from the area, but from southern Mexico.
As such, even some of their officers primary language might not be Spanish, but one of the other 68 indigenous languages spoken in Mexico. The largest of these is Nahuatl, with about 1.3m native speakers. 16 of them have over 100,000 primary language users.
This is one of the great secrets of having PEMEX as a national corporation, as the employees at their gas stations are required to be fluent in Spanish, no matter where they work. This really matters to travelers, as in many small towns, very few people have real fluency in Spanish, with no way of knowing who they are. |

You would think that at some point Elizabeth would have intervened, to basically purchase military units and equipment from the government, to be stationed on one of the Channel Islands, so that England would not be left defenseless.
They would be unmarried young men with mostly classroom and light infantry training, working for minimum wage and patriotism, outside of the control of the government, with their heavy gear in storage.
Then, if the government was desperate for an army, they could "rent" them as a training brigade, to train draftees.
But, then again, she is so tight with a ha'penny that she will be buried in a solid platinum coffin under ten thousand tons of reinforced concrete. |

I found the following statement by a Democrat interesting:
Heres some straight talk from a Democratic Congressman that pops the Washington drama balloon about the Debt Limit Pete Stark (D-CA) told an audience Saturday morning that the Debt Limit debate is a political charade. Not exactly anything that President Obama wants the American people to hear while hes trying to convince them of the utter, complete and immediate need to raise the limit.
Youve heard a lot about the Debt Limit. And I guess thats I dont know how many of you are worried about it or concerned about it. The fact is I think its a political charade.
Im afraid that the Democrats have done that in the past, threatened to shut down the government. I dont think theres a chance that it will happen. I think the last time somebody did, they lost enough seats in the House of Representatives to convince them it was a dumbest thing they ever did. [It] doesnt get us anywhere, it doesnt help anybody, and to extend the Debt Limit is nothing more than people have described it than that the governments credit card doesnt run out of resources. |

The government has $180 billion a month in revenue coming in.
I've read that the interest on the debit is ~$30 billion a month, so the Feds could pay that from monthly revenue. They could also pay social security checks, military pay, veterans benefits, and a couple other small things from the remaining revenue.
Further, if they cashed bonds from the 'lockbox' and issued new Treasury bonds on the public market they could pay social security from that revenue stream without increasing the debt; that would leave ~$40 billion or so a month for other purposes.
The government right now spends ~$290 billion a month and takes in $180 billion. Pay the interest, re-borrow on SS, and prioritize spending on the rest. I'd RIF the Dept. of Education SWAT team.
It's about priorities. Perhaps we can't cut spending all the way back to being in balance with current revenue, but making that effort would tell us a lot about what our priorities are. Which is why Washington desperately won't do it. |
