How Gurgle Stopped the Red Wave
[ET] What happened to the gigantic red wave that was supposed to crush the Democrats in the midterm elections? Every Republican in the country is blaming everyone else for this disaster, but almost no one is looking in the right place—and that’s exactly how the Big Tech companies like it.

Based on my team’s research, Google, and to a lesser extent, Facebook and other tech monopolies, not only took steps to shift millions of votes to Democrats in the midterms, but they are using their influence to spread rumors and conspiracy theories to make sure people look everywhere for explanations—except at them.

Over a period of months, Google nudged undecided voters toward voting blue by showing people politically biased content in their search engine, suppressing content they didn’t want people to see, recommending left-leaning videos on YouTube (pdf) (which Google owns), allegedly sending tens of millions of emails to people’s spam boxes, and sending go-vote reminders on their home page mainly to liberal and moderate voters.

These manipulations (and others) don’t affect voters with strong points of view, but they can have an enormous impact on voters who are undecided (pdf)—the people who decide the outcomes of close elections.

In particular, we were tracking what Google employees call "ephemeral experiences"—content that appears briefly, affects people, and then disappears. In 2018, in emails that leaked from the company, Googlers were discussing how they might use ephemeral experiences to change people’s views about Trump’s travel ban. They know how powerful ephemeral experiences can be. That’s one of the most closely held secrets of Google’s management.
Many years ago, there were articles about how TV was sneeking fractional-second advertising messages into your TV. Maybe Congress taxed them out of existence.
They called it subliminal seduction in the early 1970s. The key image was a glass of whiskey on the rocks with female body parts air-brushed onto the shadows in the ice cubes. See the book on the subject here. Nowadays they call it nudging, and applying it to all sorts of behaviours beyond mere purchasing decisions.
Ephemeral content is ideal for manipulation purposes. If you get a go-vote reminder on Google’s home page (see the image below for an actual go-vote reminder sent to a liberal voter on Election Day), how would you know whether anyone else was getting it? You wouldn’t, and if you didn’t receive such a reminder, how would you know that anyone else had?
How will we ever know if anyone ever reads this article?
In 2020, we reported our findings to members of Congress, and on Nov. 5, 2020, three U.S. senators sent an intimidating letter (pdf) to the CEO of Google that summarized our data. As a result, Google turned off its manipulations. In the Georgia Senate runoffs that followed the presidential election, no one received a go-vote reminder from Google.

But we weren’t so lucky this time around. The article I published just before the election had no effect on Google, and this year, we couldn’t find a member of Congress to send a warning letter, although we came close.
So the fix was in!
That’s why the red wave fizzled—because Google had its digital thumb on the scale for months before the elections.

#2  Biden tanked my 401K but somehow my Google searches convinced me not to vote. I understand the theory but no MAGA voter needs a flyer or a Google message.

#3  allegedly sending tens of millions of emails to people’s spam boxes

I won't allege. I can tell you it's a proven fact. All I have to do is check my spam box to see that it's true.

'Climate cult' meeting is 'all about depopulation'
[WND] "Let them eat cake," famously attributed to Marie Antoinette by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, has become universal shorthand for a monarch’s total disregard for her famished citizens stealing and wreaking havoc in the streets to survive. World leaders are making the same faux pas this week at their opulent stay in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, for COP27, the United Nations’ climate-change conference.

While they eat the best food in the world and enjoy luxurious tourism opportunities, they will leave the conference telling billions of people that the only way to combat the "climate crisis" is to stop eating meat, stop production of fossil fuel-based fertilizer, and, well, stop eating entirely. The Malthusian climate cult isn’t about saving the world — it’s all about depopulation.

When the world gets tired of the lies and energy poverty, will those leaders want a "climate amnesty," like the pandemic amnesty now desperately sought by U.S. leaders who shut down schools? Probably. But they don’t deserve it.

There are nearly eight billion people who will be affected by the COP27 convention. Of those, 800 million people still live in dire poverty without access to any electricity. 3.3 billion people have access to less electricity than the average American refrigerator. While the 30,000 globalist elites bend the knee to the false god of the net-zero agenda, billions face hunger and lack of fuel needed to keep warm this winter. This scarcity is driven by the decarbonization agenda that has permeated the political elite class around the world.

The media and world leaders have framed people as "the enemy" of the planet. This inhumane messaging has been so effective that there is a huge following of young people who truly believe they have no future and will do anything they are told — including sitting in the streets blocking ambulances to protest, throwing soup and pies at priceless paintings, gluing themselves to any surface, and repeating objectively false propaganda. They’ve drunk the Kool-Aid, not realizing the policies they promote will destroy lives without affecting the climate in the slightest.

#5  Sure, let's start with all the climate activists and billionaire enablers. Since you want it to be carbon neutral, we'll happily stake you out in the Texas desert and allow nature to take it's course. Coyotes have to eat too you know.

Before you do that, ask them first - 'what's the most you ever lost on a coin toss?'

Hosting Hamas and Taliban, negotiating ceasefires: Qatar’s outsized, contrarian role

For decades, Doha has flung open its doors to Taliban
...Arabic for students...
warlords, Islamist murderous Moslems and dissidents, African rebel commanders and exiles of every stripe.

#1  The article notes, "In the early days of the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings, [Qatar] bet on Islamists across the region. In Egypt, Qatar and its Al Jazeera news network backed the former... elected but divisive president from the Moslem Bro."
However, the Thani family that runs Qatar are very slick customers. After promising Egypt billions in aide they very soon backed out when they didn't think the Muslim Bros. were strong enough to survive an Egyptian military counter-coup.

US Industrial Production Unexpectedly Contracts In October, Capacity Utilization Slows
Graphs can be seen at the link.
[ZeroHedge] US Industrial Production unexpectedly fell 0.1% MoM in October - the biggest drop since Dec 2021 and less than the expected 0.1% MoM jump. Additionally, September's 0.4% MoM rise was revised drastically lower to just 0.1% MoM.

That is the 4th monthly decline in the last 6 months and the slowest YoY rise since January.

Manufacturing output rose 0.1% MoM (half the expected 0.2% rise).

  • Utilities fell 1.5% in Oct. after falling 1.7% in Sept.

  • Mining fell 0.4% in Oct. after rising 0.7% in Sept.

Notably, Capacity Utilization dropped back below 80% (79.875%)...

Not exactly the "strong as hell" recovery we were told about.

Science & Technology
American Electronics: A Texas Sized Problem-Peter Zeihan

There's a few reasons people love manufacturing in Texas - it's cheap, it follows American law and low tax rates.

Electronics manufacturing is something that Americans haven't worried about in decades...they could just outsource it to East Asian countries. Now that these countries are facing headwinds in their economic systems, Americans will either have to make it themselves or kiss those shiny toys goodbye.

This reshoring effort will require somewhere in the ballpark of 2 million jobs. Not too bad right? Oh wait, they'll also need to send some of that labor-intensive stuff to their southerly neighbor. So find somewhere with excess employment capacity, large populations, solid infrastructure, a workforce with diverse skill-sets...and in close proximity to Mexico.

That's no small feat, but there are a few locations that meet the long list of criteria. Can you guess what city tops the list?
