Hunter Biden's ex-wife says business partner Schwerin 'managed almost every aspect' of their finances: Memoir
[FoxNews] The ex-wife of Hunter Biden revealed in her new memoir that the president’s son's longtime business partner, Eric Schwerin, "managed almost every aspect of our financial life."

Kathleen Buhle, who was married to Hunter Biden from 1993 to 2017, released her memoir Tuesday called, "If We Break: A Memoir of Marriage, Addiction and Healing," in which she described a friendly encounter with Schwerin at a resort cocktail party celebrating their friends’ wedding in the Dominican Republic.

"After we met some of the guests, Hunter was introduced to more men, and I drifted away," Buhle wrote. "I settled on a seat in the corner of the room with Eric, Hunter’s business partner. By now Eric managed almost every aspect of our financial life, so our relationship was an odd one. Born of mutual need, perhaps. But I trusted him. Now we sat on the fringe of the cocktail party, staring at the scene as if it were a movie. ‘Who are these people?’ I asked him. ‘And why is everyone here so good looking?’"

"’Lorenzo is a good guy,’ Eric said, laughing. ‘He’s good for our business.’"

The revelation that Schwerin managed most of their finances comes as Hunter Biden faces a federal investigation for potential violations of tax, money laundering and foreign lobbying laws through his business relationships abroad.

Schwerin is not accused of any crime but is facing pressure from House Republicans to provide documents relating to his business dealings with the first family, signaling he could face a subpoena if Republicans retake the House in November, the New York Post reported.

While President Biden has repeatedly said he had no knowledge of his son’s business dealings, Schwerin, the former president of Hunter Biden’s since-dissolved investment fund Rosemont Seneca Partners, made at least 27 visits to the White House during the Obama administration, when Biden was vice president.

More than a dozen House Republicans sent a letter to Schwerin in April inquiring about an email regarding funds from a tax refund check that Schwerin apparently transferred to Hunter Biden from his father’s account.

"An email obtained by Committee Republicans shows that in 2010, while serving as president of Hunter Biden’s company, you received then-Vice President Biden’s tax refund check and facilitated the transfer of that amount to Hunter because now-President Biden owed money to his son," the letter stated. "This raises questions about how much money President Biden owed his son and what role his son played in managing the President’s finances. Committee Republicans request additional information regarding this transaction and any other instances of President Biden owing money to his son, Hunter."

"If President Biden and Hunter are sharing funds or if President Biden is in debt to his son—the American people deserve to know it especially in light of the millions of dollars Hunter’s businesses have received from countries adversarial to U.S. interests," the letter read.

The federal investigation into Biden, which began in 2018, is heating up as prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware seek grand jury testimony concerning the sources of the first son’s foreign income, including from Ukrainian natural gas company, Burisma Holdings Ltd.

Hunter, who has adamantly denied any wrongdoing, has not been charged with a crime related to the investigation.

Virginia judge boots liberal DA
[FOXNEWS] A Loudoun County, Virginia, judge removed the county’s Commonwealth’s Attorney Office from a serial burglary case for "deliberately misleading the Court and the public." The state’s Republican attorney general is now ready to step in after calling the move "unprecedented."

"The Commonwealth is deliberately misleading the Court, and the public, in an effort to ’sell’ the plea agreement for some reason that has yet to be explained," Loudoun County Circuit Court Judge James Plowman wrote in an order removing the county’s Commonwealth's Attorney Office, headed by Buta Biberaj, from the criminal case.

The order follows a case concerning burglary suspect Kevin Enrique Valle, who was charged with three misdemeanors for destruction of property and false identification, and two felonies for burglary, Fox 5 reported.

Plowman said prosecutor Michele Burton offered a six-month plea deal to Valle by downplaying Valle’s previous criminal history and not including other burglary charges against him.

The judge said the plea agreement from the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office stated the crimes occurred within a matter of hours last year, which he said is "entirely inaccurate" as Valle is accused of "a possible 12 burglary crime spree spanning four counties over 10 days."

Plowman, who previously served as the Loudoun commonwealth’s attorney before Biberaj’s election in 2019,
...so this is personal...
said Burton showed she was incapable of prosecuting the case "consistent with professional standards," Fox 5 reported.

"Biberaj and the Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office is hereby REMOVED AND DISQUALIFIED from further prosecution as counsel of record in this matter," the judge wrote.

Plowman also recused himself from the case "unless the parties agree otherwise" and ordered the Fauquier Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to prosecute the case.

The state’s Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares sent a letter to the chief judge for the 20th Judicial Circuit on Monday saying the court "has rightfully lost confidence" in Biberaj and her office. His office is now ready to assist and even prosecute the case "considering this unprecedented development," according to the letter which was provided to Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

"Please know that my office stands at the ready to ensure that the victims of these serious crimes receive justice, and that the perpetrator is held accountable thereby ensuring that the citizens of Virginia feel safe in their homes," Miyares wrote.

Biberaj, who received contributions from George Soros
...either Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Auric Goldfinger come true...
' Super PAC in 2019, has previously come under fire for how she runs the office, with one former prosecutor telling Fox 5 that employees were "pushed to bond people out in domestic violence cases."

"Buta pushes to let people out generally," the former prosecutor told the outlet while speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Earlier this year, the chair of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voiced outrage with Biberaj after Fox 5 reported her office hired a convicted sex offender as a paralegal.

Biberaj's office has not responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment. She did break her silence during a presser Tuesday, telling the state's attorney general to "stay in your lane" and argued her office has lowered crime in the area.

"This is a specific message to Attorney General Jason Miyares, 'Stay in your lane'," Biberaj said Tuesday. "Your lane is in Richmond. Your lane is being the attorney general of Virginia. You are not the elected council attorney and definitely nor for Loudoun County. Since his election, he's been wanting to undermine the good work that we do as progressive prosecutors."
Let it be noted that good work for progressive prosecutors is unacceptable work for prosecutors in general.

Adam Laxalt wins Republican nomination for Nevada Senate
[NYPOST] Adam Laxalt won the Republican nomination Tuesday for a pivotal Nevada Senate seat, fending off a challenge from a political newcomer and setting up a fierce November contest to topple incumbent Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto in a race that could swing power in the U.S. Senate.Laxalt is a former Nevada attorney general who had the backing of former President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and whatever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
and the GOP establishment. But challenger Sam Brown harnessed support with the party’s grassroots and forced Laxalt to spend heavily and bring in Trump-world figures for late-stage support to lock up the primary.

"Together we have taken an important step tonight," Laxalt said at an election night party in Reno, Nevada. "An important step in taking our country back, an important step in taking our great state of Nevada."

With his nomination now secure, Laxalt turns to a general election campaign against Cortez Masto in what is expected to be one of the Republican Party’s best chances to flip a seat in the 50-50 Senate this fall.

Trump takes primary victory lap, dismisses South Carolina loser as 'long shot' candidate
[NYPOST] Former President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
crowed on social media Wednesday about the success of candidates he endorsed in Tuesday’s primary elections — particularly reveling in the defeat of a Republican incumbent in South Carolina who voted to impeach him after last year’s Capitol riot."Every single endorsed by Trump candidate won last night, by big margins, with the exception of one very long shot who did FAR better than anticipated against an incumbent," Trump said on Truth Social.

"The ’Impeacher’ was ousted without even a runoff. A GREAT night!," added the former president, referring to Rep. Tom Rice’s defeat in the Palmetto State’s 7th District by state Rep. Russell Fry.

Rice was one of 10 House Republicans to vote to impeach Trump on a single count of incitement of insurrection following the riot that disrupted congressional certification of Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Being a self-defined foreign policy whiz kid means never having to say you're sorry...
’s 2020 election victory. Trump was ultimately acquitted by the Senate.

#1  One of the blogs I read reminded me that the South Carolina primary is "open" meaning voters can cross party lines. It was offered as an explanation behind the failure of defeating Mace, as there was strong cross party support for her as an anti-Trump vote. Anybody got a good insight into the veracity of this?
Posted by: NoMoreBS || 06/16/2022 12:47 Comments || Top||

#2  Nancy Mace criticized Trump without impeaching him, and only for a period of a week or so. That's a bright red line that Tom Rice crossed. Mace did not do a mea culpa, but she did everything short of that - the way she talks about Trump these days, you'd think she was Trump's biggest fan in the country. That's why Murkowski, Sasse (in 2026) and Cheney are likely doomed. Unlike Mace, not only did they not back off, they put the pedal to the metal on the Trump hatred.

#3  The thing about the media is it's got a pre-configured template on political stories that takes everything bad about perceived enemies while keeping only the good things that come to mind about friends. Unfortunately for the GOP, the media sees Republicans as the enemy. Which is why just about every negative story about a Republican is an overall lie, even when every detail is true - they just leave out the exculpatory bits.

Longtime Texas Democratic House district goes GOP after Mayra Flores wins special election
[NYPOST] Republican Mayra Flores defeated the leading Democratic candidate for an open congressional seat in a historically blue region of South Texas in a Tuesday special election.

Flores, who will be the first Mexican-born congresswoman, garnered about 51% of the vote to top Dan Sanchez, who received 43% of the vote with all precincts reporting.

The seat had been vacated in March by former Democratic Rep. Filemon Vela.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., Flores declared victory at her election party in San Benito, the Texas Tribune reported.

"For over 100 years, we have been taken for granted," she told her supporters, according to the report. "I will show you what real representation looks like. I will represent all people."

Sanchez conceded Tuesday night, and blamed Democrats for their lack of support.

Biden bullies oil companies over 'well above normal' profits
President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier. Of course Corn Pop is a real person.......
once again accused oil companies of not doing enough to offset soaring gas prices on Wednesday, telling the seven major refiners their profit margins were "well above normal," as the White House continued to point fingers for economic problems everywhere but at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

"[A]t a time of war, refinery profit margins well above normal being passed directly onto American families are not acceptable," Biden wrote in a letter to Exxon Mobil CEO Darren Woods.

Similar letters were dispatched to the heads of Chevron, Shell, Phillips 66, BP, Marathon and Valero.

"Your companies need to work with my Administration to bring forward concrete, near-term solutions that address the crisis and respect the critical equities of energy workers and fence-line communities," the president added in the Woods letter, before calling on the refiner to detail "any reduction in your refining capacity since 2020 and any concrete ideas that would address the immediate inventory, price, and refining capacity issues in the coming months — including transportation measures to get refined product to market."
