AARP Asks Democrats To Remove Their Name From Their Attack Ad
[BUZZFEED] The AARP is asking the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee to remove them from an ad attacking Republican Michigan senatorial candidate Terri Lynn Land. The ad “Deserve” cites the AARP in attacking Land.

“Michiganders deserve a Senator that will fight to preserve the Medicare guarantee, not Terri Lynn Land who would slash benefits, raise prescription drug prices, and force seniors to pay thousands more each year,” the ad states.

AARP front man Matt Hornbeck told BuzzFeed News, “We’d appreciate if they removed AARP from the ad.”
A blurb sent out by AARP noted they did not authorize the DSCC to use their name in the ad.
AARP does not endorse candidates or make contributions to political campaigns or candidates.

“AARP did not authorize the use of its name currently running in the campaign ads,” the blurb states.

#1  AARP did not authorize the use of its name currently running in the campaign ads

Meaning the AARP didn't get generously reimbursed for the use of its name, like it does with insurance companies.

#2  Yep, the same AARP, insurance front, that was a cheerleader for Obamacare, running attack ads against those who were raising warning signals about what it was.

#3  Besides, I figgered out their political orientation without it being attached to political ads. Meaning, the horse is already out of the barn, AARP.

#4  Sounds like AARP doesn't like it when it's too obvious which side they are rooting for.

#5  That's why aarp got a waiver from obiecare. Their suplemental insurance business is raking it in.

#6  Not that anyone should actually NEED another reason to have nothing to do with AARP:

#7  My wife's AARP membership expires on Oct 14, and they have blistered our mailbox with their material for the last 3 months.
No, we are not going to renew, I want nothing to do with this group of insurance pirates after their "support" for Obey-care, death panels and all.
Will not vote for a Demon-crat as long as I breath.

#8  Same tired, old, Democrat B.S. "Throw grandma over the cliff; they (Pubs) want to rob SS and Medicare; they want to take stuff away from our children..."

The ads didn't mention the part where Donks want to flood the border with illegals who will take away jobs and drive up health and welfare costs? Or the part where they are in favor of minors getting abortions without parental permission? Or the part where they want to steal elections via voter fraud. Or the part where you can keep your doctor and your insurance. Or the part where they left people behind and forgot about them in Benghazi? I guess I forgot the part where they messed up the school system, screwed up the Middle East, and gave us Fast and Furious, the IRS scandal, and let Central American kids come up to the U.S. with no regard for the health and education problems created in our system. I didn't see any of these in the ads.

Anyone still believe the Donks?

Bernanke's Tale Underscores Dodd-Frank's Failure
[NEWS.INVESTORS] Regulation: It sounds like the punchline to a bad joke: Former Fed chief Ben Bernanke was recently turned down to refinance his mortgage. If the nation's former top bank regulator can't qualify, something's very wrong.

'Just between the two of us," Bernanke told Moody's economist Mark Zandi at a recent conference, "I recently tried to refinance my mortgage, and I was unsuccessful." Though played for laughs, it was no joke.

"I'm not making that up," Bernanke said. "I think it's entirely possible (lenders) may have gone a little bit too far on mortgage credit conditions."

#1  If Ben the Chairsatan gives 3 more speeches at $150,000 a pop, he can pay off his mortgage with cash.

#2  "I'm not making that up," Bernanke said. "I think it's entirely possible (lenders) may have gone a little bit too far on mortgage credit conditions."

No, just getting back to where we were before Mr. Frank and Co. issued orders to the banks to give totally unqualified individuals mortgages resulting in the great economic implosion of the late '00s. You know all those practices learned from the Great Depression that were ignored or thrown overboard because we were so modern, hip, urban, and socialist.

#3  Besides, the Great Depression 1 was more than two years ago.

USDA Sec. Tom Vilsack announces $91 million boodle for biomass plant
[NOLA] Tom Vilsack, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, announced a $91 million loan guarantee from the federal government to help build a biomass fuel plant in Louisiana.
Mary Landreau says thank you and hurry the hell up with more...
Vilsack traveled to Baton Rouge on Friday to make the announcement. He said the plant could have a "profound impact" on agriculture in America.

The plant is being built by Cool Energy in Alexandria. It under construction and is expected to be complete in 2015 with production to begin in 2016. The plant will produce an expected 150-175 direct or indirect jobs.

"This is going to provide a new market opportunity for pine chips and other renewable forest material, which will help the forestry industry in the state," Vilsack said. "This biochar soil nutrient they're able to produce is really remarkable opportunity for us not only to learn from your experience but to take this and extend the notion of biochar."

#1  What's the cut to the party, 10 percent?
Posted by: Procopius2k || 10/05/2014 9:34 Comments || Top||

#2  It's Louisiana. More like 25%.

#3  ...which Vilsack said could reduce America's imports from politically volatile parts of the world.

Like Canada fer instance.

#4  I read the article, I have no real idea what the plant really does or how it does it. If it is some sort of chemical plant... probably best to put it in Baton Rouge near all the other chemical plants, where all the suppliers and stuff are.

#5  no real idea what the plant really does
Launders money. Doesn't matter where you put it.
