[WEEKLYSTANDARD] Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alan Webber of New Mexico says of his likely political opponent, Republican governor Susana Martinez, that "We need to send her back to wherever she really came from."
"So I'm asking you for your help, we need to make Susana Martinez a one-term governor. We need to send her back to wherever she really came from," says Webber in a video obtained by The Weekly Standard. "I suspect it's Texas. And that would be good for Texas and that would be good for New Mexico."
Martinez, who is up for reelection this year, is a Hispanic Republican. Indeed, she's the first woman Hispanic governor in America.
Webber, who squares off in a primary on June 3 to face Martinez in the November election, is a controversial Democrat. "Webber has a history of radical views, including ties to the Weather Underground and urging empathy for a child sex offender," the Washington Free Beacon previously reported.
Webber has raised the most money of Democratic candidates

vying to challenge Republican Gov. Susana Martinez, and is competing against four other Democrats, including Lawrence Rael, who exaggerated his resume on his campaign website. The primary will be held on June 3.

The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead... and Iran's Supreme Ayatolla, Ali Khamenei, seem to view the Leader of the Free World with something less than shock and awe.
When Kelly told the president "We're terrified!" and Michael claimed "We're scared to death!", they were simply being the big kidders we all know them to be.
The president has been having a tough time of it lately--a blossoming scandal at the Veterans Administration, foreign policy troubles that have only gotten worse, and his own job approval ratings down in the basement--so it's understandable that he'd seek sweet relief by appearing on Friday's installment of Live With Kelly & Michael. After all, with the notable exception of Jerry Springer, daytime television, with its largely female viewership, is a combat-free environment, potentially allowing an embattled politician to communicate his message unchallenged.

President Obama announced that he accepted Shinseki's resignation after agreeing with his embattled VA secretary that he had become a "distraction" as the department struggles to deal with a huge increase of veterans in need of care after more than a decade of war overseas.

Just learned yesterday of a friend who was awaiting his first appointment at the VA Hospital in Madison, WI. It was scheduled for sometime in late July. He got a call last week and told that it had been moved up to last week. When he arrived, the waiting room was full of veterans. As conversations ensued, they learned that many of their appointments had mysteriously been expedited within the past week. When he was called up to the desk, he asked the clerk if the change had anything to do with recent events in Arizona. The clerk was polite but declined to attribute the scheduling change to events in the news.

That which doesn't get inspected, doesn't get done.
Issuing fiats from the Beltway and accepting reports from 'yes men' from below renders the usual results. The socialist can't learn. Same problem in Moscow. Lots of useless reports that provided only the answers the guys on the top floor wanted to hear. You're seeing it in Caracas as we type taking down an entire nation. Still, they plod on, looking for that 'right' man to do the job that can't be done.

Never dawns on these people that the reports that need to be checked are the disbursements on the log side of the house for comparison. Consumption rates gives you an indication of the level of work actually going on versus what is 'penciled in' by the front office. Tack that on to some robust unannounced management by walking around, and you'll get some results rather than useless bureaucratic CYA paper reports.

[NBCNEWS] President Barack Obama I inhaled. That was the point... made a surprise appearance Friday to announce that his chief front man Jay Carney is leaving his post behind the podium.
Obama called Carney one of his closest advisers and friends at the White House in remarks to the press in the White House briefing room.
"In April, Jay came to me in the Oval Office and said that he was thinking of moving on, and I was not thrilled, to say the least," he said. "But Jay has had to wrestle with this decision for quite some time."

"For engagement initiatives like Iran, what we've done on Ukraine, efforts to dive in and engage around the world," she said.
"I mean, Russia has still annexed Crimea," another news hound asked. "I mean, Iran -- there's ongoing negotiations, but is that the success here that you're talking?"
