Barney Frank: Guardian of financial overhaul
In a recent interview on Capitol Hill, Frank said, "I think we have a very good structure in place that will diminish the likelihood of another collapse caused by financial irresponsibility. On the whole, I'm very pleased with how it worked out."

Some critics of the law say that it skimped on the details, leaving regulatory agencies with too heavy a burden. Frank said Congress didn't have a choice.

"It's precisely because we knew we couldn't get everything exactly right that we did leave room for the regulators," he said.

The agencies have yet to disappoint, he contended. So far, the SEC, the commodities commission and other agencies have proposed dozens of new rules under harsh conditions, earning a grade of "A" from the Massachusetts Democrat.

#1  Barney Frank is the Congressidiot who was behind the EHLP program, giving $1 billion to deadbeat home-loaners who are unemployed.
Google EHLP.
No intention to ridicule deadbeat home-loaners. The deadline for your 0% forgiveable loan is TOMORROW. Money must be handed out by Sept. 30, unless the federal government goes broke before then. Get it while it's FREE, FREE, FREE.

#2  "I think we have a very good structure in place that will diminish the likelihood of another collapse caused by financial irresponsibility," Mr. Frank said

Diminish the likelihood of another collapse. What the hell is this idiot talking about? We haven't gotten out of the first collapse! There's a photo that only a lot of strong drink will help get it out of one's mind.

#3  Wait a minute. You mean the SEC is gonna be one of the regulators? This is the same SEC that watched and did nothing while Bernie Madoff fleeced his customers?

You see, this is why I dispute Congressman Allen West's assessment that Debbie Wasserman Schultz is "the most vile, unprofessional and despicable member of the US House of Representatives". That bar may well be lower than Satan but is it lower than Bawney Fwank? I dunno.

Bawney is one of the clique that got us into our current economic mess. He was practically the architect of the mortgage meltdown. And we're gonna trust him to get us out of it? We're screwed.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is "vile, unprofessional and despicable" - Allen West "Doh"

#1  Democrats simply hate it when you shine the truth on them.

Its like a cross to a vampire.

#2  Col. West said this is not about Col. West. Wasserman-Schultz chose to make it personal. I've got to agree with Congressman West.

#3  "You don't need to call me out on your time to speak on the floor," West said. "Focus on what is your plan for the debt ceiling."

What he is basically telling her is stop playing politics and work on the problems of the nation.

Even though calling Wasserman "Vile, Despicable, and Cowardly" in an email cc'ed to the world is a little over the top for the decorum of the House, I'm glad West phrased it that way. It is worth it if we can focus the debate on Congress working towards solving problems instead of playing politics.

If this was the 18th Century, Wasserman would be obliged to challenge West to a duel for his comments.

#4  He was just reading that description off the appliction she submitted to be the DNC Chair.
Came under the heading of "skill sets".

#5  Debbie is truly an awful person, unattractive, arrogant, and nasty. She is also quite incompetent and frequently commits dumb gaffes. I prefer they keep her as DNC head. She represents their party perfectly
Posted by: Frank G || 07/20/2011 10:28 Comments || Top||

#6  But he is right for essentially challenging her to keep politics out of the debate, and if she wants to talk about him, do it to his face.

#7  It's time to treat them like the gutter slime they are.

#8  You are the most vile, unprofessional and despicable member of the US House of Representatives.

Wow. Even worse than Bawney?

#9  You are the most vile, unprofessional and despicable member of the US House of Representatives.

Considering the history of Congress, that bar is lower than Satan.

#10  If this was the 18th Century, Wasserman would be obliged to challenge West to a duel for his comments.

She might be tried as a witch in the 18th century.

#11  I would follow that man through hell. I have a HUGE man-crush on Rep. West.

#12  "I have a HUGE man-crush on Rep. West."

And I've got a HUGE woman-crush on him, Hellfish. ;-p

Is it terribly self-centered of me to be proud I contributed to his election campaign?

#13  Having a man-crush on Rep. West is way better than having a man-crush on Rep. Bawney.

#14  I've never met her, but I have dealt with one very minor outcome of her legislative activism. The details are irrelevant, but amongst companies in the affected industry, it probably cost upwards of several million dollars to contemplate, act, and resolve the changes necessary.

Multiply that by several thousand-fold, and throw in her attitude, and you have a perfect example of what the Democratic party costs this country. Sure the GOP has its costs, but they remain a fraction of the donks.

#15  I just learned on an interview between Mark Levin and Col. West that during the mid-term election campaign season, Debbie Schultz accused Col.West of being a misogynist and staged protests in front of his campaign headquarters. Looks like we have some 'bad-blood' between the two. (under statement).

UN security council to consider enviro-peacekeeping force
A special meeting of the United Nations security council is expected to consider whether to expand its mission to keep the peace in the age of climate change.

Small island nations want the security council to intervene to combat the threat to their existence from the rising seas.
What's wrong? They don't trust Obama to stop the seas from rising?
There has also been discussion of a new environmental peacekeeping force -- the green helmets -- which could exacerbate handle conflicts caused by shrinking resources.

The UN secretary general, Ban Ki-Moon, is expected to speak at the meeting on Wednesday. But Germany, which called the meeting, warned that it is premature to expect the council to begin green peacemaking or even adopt climate change as a key area of concern.

Germany's ambassador to the UN, Peter Wittig, wrote, "It is too early to seriously think about council action on climate change. This is clearly not on the agenda. A good first step would be to acknowledge the realities of climate change and its inherent implications to international peace and security."

Wednesday's meeting comes at a time of increasing doubt about whether the UN is equipped to deal with anything climate change. Climate talks in Bonn last month produced little. Meanwhile, Ban has been shifted his attention from climate change to sustainable development.
