[Babylon Bee] KENOSHA, WI—Journalists across the country rushed to cover a hot, breaking story this week before the facts could come to light and possibly ruin the entire thing.
"This is a powerful narrative. Just the kind of story we want to tell! But we have to get this out before the facts come out! Hurry! The facts are closing in!" screamed a CNN reporter as he jumped in his news van to rush over to the site of the incident.
The CNN crew worked faster than ever before, but it was not enough. By the time they completed the story, a bunch of evil facts had made their way onto Twitter, completely messing up the awesome black and white narrative CNN wanted to tell.
"NOOOOOO! Not the facts! It's always the facts. CURSE YOU FACTS!" the reporter cried while shaking a clenched fist.
Fortunately, CNN's producers still green-lighted the story, which was just too good to pass up. After a mob of hateful facts forced a retraction, CNN just sold the story to Hollywood. Win-win!

[PJ] Anyone could have seen this coming. The question that should be asked after an armed man shot two rioters on the streets of Kenosha is, what did you expect? Here’s the scenario: mobs of criminals are torching and looting the private businesses of Americans all over the country and local law enforcement won’t stop them. Not only will they not stop them but anyone who is arrested is released immediately to do it all over again the next night (see Portland). Did you expect that this could go on without more violence? How did you think it would end? Where was this going—social change to utopia? Cities are burning. New York City is now a place no retailer will go. How much more of this did you think people would take?
Here’s the bad news. Kyle Rittenhouse, whom we know nothing about, is only the beginning of what is to come. It’s going to get much worse, and people like me who are anti-war and want nothing but peace with my countrymen are about to become severely disappointed.
Any speculation on Rittenhouse’s motives is total stupidity in the fog of war when facts are indecipherable from lies. Don’t attempt it. Let us just look at the general climate in which this tragedy occurred. And I use the word "tragedy" somewhat reluctantly because all involved in this, especially the government officials who let it happen, deserve exactly what they got.
If you go out to protest in an environment where you know there is looting and mayhem, I don’t care what happens to you. Not even a little. Photographic evidence appears to point to self-defense. It’s too soon to tell but it appears from these photographs that at least one of the people who was shot was holding a gun.
Stop teaching history, learn nothing. History doesn't exactly repeat it self. However, human behavior is consistent. It's like rivers, you see patterns, you see flow, you see back eddies. You know where it is going. You know you are headed for a sandbar or the rocks.

I merely observe that the apparent evidence does not support the severity of the charges against him. Or, put differently, if charges that severe are warranted against Kyle, the rioters are being seriously undercharged.

I had the same question around the campfire the other night the analyst does - what was he doing out there by himself.
The best unsubstantiated answer/story/rumor I've come across is that there was a dumpster fire next to a business and Kyle took a fire extinguisher to it, drawing the ire of the PedoAttacker.
It isn't a great answer as it still requires a loss of situational awareness - call of duty, youth, adrenaline, didn't see a threat, combo there-of or whatnot, and it almost cost him his life; it is unlikely PedoAttacker would have gone easy on cornered prey from from help and witnesses.

It's definitely strategic. The idea is that you are able to swell your ranks for the after the fact press visuals. A lot of people won't hit the streets for politics, but a new wide screen and some casual vandalism on the other hand will draw a hefty number of the cunning and stupid.

[American Thinker] As I began writing tonight, I had a lot of tabs open. Shall I write about the racist attack The Nation launched against black Trump-supporters? Or should I write about Nancy Pelosi's suddenly announcing that Biden shouldn't demean himself by debating Trump? And what about the Democrats who are openly admitting that Trump is running the better campaign? And then there are the Jews proudly leaving the Democrat party — what about them?
As I contemplated three or four separate posts, one for each question, I realized that they are all actually the same post: Democrats are realizing that Biden's early poll numbers were misleading and that Trump may well win. Some respond like trapped rats with viciousness or frantic manipulations. Others are feeling something akin to relief. No matter the response, they're recognizing the real possibility that Biden almost certainly won't make it across the finish line.
The winner in the "trapped rat/vicious" category is Elie Mystal's revoltingly racist, dishonest, hate-filled screed entitled "We Need to Talk about the GOP's 'Black Friends,'" published at The Nation, a "Progressive" (i.e., leftist) publication founded in 1865. Mystal's premise is that Trump is an irredeemable KKK-style racist and that the Republican party and its supporters are complicit. It's a long, utterly contemptible piece that generally labels black Trump-supporters as "tokens" and says the blacks who appeared at the convention are "Black validators."
Mystal, who is black, is a Harvard College and Harvard Law grad. Those bastions of Progressivism left him with some serious anti-white racism. Nothing, though, explains the revulsion he feels for blacks who didn't get his advantages and want to make it the old-fashioned way, through hard work and human decency.
It's obvious that Mystal is steeped in blind hatred. What's also obvious is that Mystal is terrified that a Trump victory is on hand. You don't write this kind of manic garbage unless you're facing an overwhelming adversary and are emptying both barrels in the faint hope that you can take out one or two of the enemy as you head for your inevitable demise.
Then there's Nancy Pelosi. After Trump accused Biden of doping to get through past debates, she made the confidential admission to all Americans that it would just be too demeaning for Biden to have to debate Trump:

Any reasonable interpretation of the way the MSM presents 'poll numbers' is that we are told and expected to believe that Their Candidate is so far ahead from the very beginning that we might as well just stay home. At this point in 2016, remember, Hilary! was still leading in most polls by low double digits...yet here we are.

I suspect Trump and many in the audience were both tired Thursday night because it just did not seem to be as exciting as one of his one day rallies.

I believe I posted before that 60% of Israel's Covid infections are among the ultra- orthodox "Hassidim" community. And the principal reason is that some of their top rabbis (there are a lot of sects who consider each other infidels, probably because their leadership is hereditary) ordered the adherents not to wear masks or maintain distancing - doctors being apostates etc... Strangely enough, when they do get sick they go to a hospital and expect the apostate doctors to save them.
IMO, Hassidism is outside classical Judaism: in both it's worship of dead rabbis & it's Dionysian rituals.
The article below analyses the problem - and expresses my feelings better than I can.
[JPost] - The controversy surrounding traveling to Uman or being able to pray in a synagogue on Rosh Hashanah has led to a misrepresentation of classical Jewish law on the importance of health and saving lives, and it is important to teach those basic sources in order to disprove the distortion of religious Judaism being touted by extremists and fanatics.
The Torah makes clear that one is obligated to stay healthy, commanding twice in the same chapter: "Be cautions and guard yourself very well.... Guard yourselves very well" (Deuteronomy 4:9 and 15).
Maimonides explains these words in "Laws of a Murderer and Saving Lives" (Mishneh Torah, 14:11,4) saying, "There is a positive commandment to remove, guard oneself, protect oneself, and guard oneself very well from any obstacle that includes a risk to one’s life." He continues, "The Sages prohibited many things because they endanger lives."
There are specific commandments related to protecting lives. For example, "When you build a new house, make a guardrail for your roof so that you don’t cause blood in your house, lest someone fall from there" (Deuteronomy 22:8).
The Babylonian Talmud is replete with rules meant to protect one’s health, such as: 1) parents are obligated to teach their children how to swim (Kiddushin 29a); 2) one may not cut a slice of bread from a loaf sitting in one’s hand (Berachot 8a); 3) one may not cross a shaky or unstable bridge (Rosh Hashanah 16b); and 4) one cannot enter rushing water that is higher than your waist (Yoma 87b).
The message is clear: Anything that is a danger to one’s health and a risk to one’s life is absolutely prohibited according to Torah law.
The Torah not only commands one to guard his or her own life but even commands violating prohibitions in order to save others’ lives. The Torah states (Leviticus 18:5): "Keep my decrees and laws; the person who obeys them will live by them." The Babylonian Talmud (Yoma 85a) explains that the last words of that verse, "V’chai bahem," teach that one must violate the Sabbath in order to save a life.
...But the command to transgress the rules of the Torah to save a life is not limited to the Sabbath. The Talmud rules (Yoma 82b) that all laws of the Torah must be violated to save a life, with the exception of three cardinal sins: murder, idolatry and adultery. This means that in a hypothetical scenario whereby any Jew violating every transgression other than those three would keep someone alive for an extra minute, they would be obligated to do so.
...This means that we are not only commanded to transgress Torah laws to save a life, but that "sinning" and saving the life is the greatest sanctification of God’s name possible. We sanctify God’s name when we demonstrate and show the world that life is His highest value.
Which brings us to 2020 and COVID-19.
It doesn’t really matter how badly one wants to travel to Uman to be near the grave of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov in Ukraine, IMO, a clear example of idolatry
or wants to sit in synagogue for the High Holy Days. The message from the above sources makes it clear: While praying in synagogue is important (though it is not a Torah commandment), and specific groups see great spiritual value in going to Uman (it is most certainly not a commandment of any kind!), if a determination is made that doing so could endanger one’s health or endanger the health of others, then not going to Uman and not going to synagogue is what the Torah requires, and is the way to sanctify God’s name.
So if specific groups and political parties want to go against the opinion of health officials, and want to lobby hard and pressure the prime minister for permission to go to Uman, or for more people to be allowed to pray in synagogues, it is their right to do so.
But they should do so in their own names and not in the name of God. They should do so in the name of their own new religion, and not in the name of Judaism. Because what they are creating is a hilul Hashem, a desecration of God’s name, and an absolute distortion of Judaism.

Rangappa declared that the use of “Nikki” rather than her real first name was proof that America is racist and Haley was yielding to it. Nikki however is Haley’s legal middle name and the Hill’s Saagar Enjeti noted it is “a Punjabi name.” Moreover, Rangappa also uses her middle name as have leaders from Mitch Romney to Boris Johnson. Now Rangappa is under fire for doxxing a young intern who wrote Yale about the incident. Twitter took down Rangappa’s tweet and the CNN Analyst then suggested that the doxxing incident was fun.To recap the controversy, Nikki Haley gave a speech at the RNC and lashed out that it is
“now fashionable to say that America is racist. That is a lie. America is not a racist country. This is personal for me. I am the proud daughter of Indian immigrants. They came to America and settled in a small Southern town. My father wore a turban. My mother wore a sari. I was a Brown girl in a Black and White world. We faced discrimination and hardship. But my parents never gave in to grievance and hate. My mom built a successful business. My dad taught 30 years at a historically black college. And the people of South Carolina chose me as their first minority and first female governor. America is a story that’s a work in progress. Now is the time to build on that progress, and make America even freer, fairer, and better for everyone.”
That speech led to an immediate personal attack from Rangappa that Haley bowed to racism by dropping her real name: “Right. Is that why you went from going by Nimrata to ‘Nikki’?” Rangappa asked.
