Europe
Spain pays 'submission tax' to Muslims
The Spanish government, true to the principle of appeasement that it rode to power after the 3-11 bombings, is considering paying money to mosques. The stated purpose is to make the mosques less dependent upon foreign money — particularly, of course, terror financing from Saudi Wahhabis or others.

That money is pouring in. The March 11 terrorist bombers were active members of mosques that betrayed strong Wahhabi influence. According to Antonio Camacho, the Interior Ministry's secretary of state security, the new payment scheme is "about keeping them from having to look outside for financing because the state does not, in a way, support their activities."

So are we to believe that because the state hasn't supported Spanish mosques, they turned to the Wahhabis out of desperation? And so money will make the Wahhabis disappear? This is the sort of harebrained scheme that only true sons of Aethelred the Unready could dream up, or perhaps more precisely true sons of Marx and Engels, so besotted with socialism and materialism that they can't fathom the possibility that anyone could be motivated by anything other than the desire for material gain. The jihad? Pah. They just want money. Give them some and they'll quiet down.

Their misapprehension is elephantine. Consider the probability that many Spanish radical Muslims are familiar with the ideas espoused by Sayyid Qutb (1906-1966), the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood theorist whose writings are still widely available all over the world (including the United States today), and which are revered by radical Muslims as a comprehensive exposition of their program.

In his exhaustive, 30-volume exposition of the Muslim holy book, "Fi Zilal al-Quran" (In the Shade of the Quran), Qutb wrote: "As the only religion of truth that exists on earth today, Islam takes appropriate action to remove all physical and material obstacles that try to impede its efforts to liberate mankind from submission to anyone other than God.
The practical way to ensure the removal of those physical obstacles while not forcing anyone to adopt Islam is to smash the power of those authorities based on false beliefs until they declare their submission and demonstrate this by paying the submission tax."

Likewise, a high-school textbook entitled "Islamic Culture," produced by the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Education: "Islam is Allah's religion for all human beings. It should be proclaimed and invite [people] to join it wisely and through appropriate preaching and friendly discussions. However, such methods may encounter resistance and the preachers may be prevented from accomplishing their duty
then, jihad and the use of physical force against the enemies become inevitable.
"

Do these statements sound to you as if they were made by people who will be turned from their goal by a few euros?

Lenin once prophesied, "The capitalists will sell us the rope with which to hang them." Wrong again, Vladimir Ilych, but it wasn't for want of trying. Lest we forget, throughout the years of détente the Soviets were treated to grain deals, technology transfers and all manner of other goodies designed to prove our good will and even gain leverage over Soviet policies by creating an economic relationship. It took Soviet tanks rolling into Kabul to show that the influence gained by such maneuvers was slight at best.

Yet now Europe has embarked on this path again. The historian Bat Ye'or details in her upcoming book, "Eurabia," how not just Spain, but the European Union as a whole has pursued a short-sighted and self-destructive policy of accommodation toward the Islamic world for decades now, freely adopting the posture of subservient dhimmis, as non-Muslims are termed in Islamic law, toward their Muslim masters. They have encouraged Islamic immigration without assimilation or any assurance that the immigrants would not be attached to the principles of Islamic law, including violent jihad. They have adopted the foreign policy stances of the Islamic world — becoming in effect the willing accomplices of their own destruction.

"The spirit of dhimmitude which today blinds Europe," said Bat Ye'or at a seminar at the French Senate in June, "springs not from a situation imposed from without, but from a choice made freely, and systematically carried out, in its political dimensions, over the course of the last 30 years."

Spain reaped the fruit of these suicidal policies last March. Now they think that the damage they have done can be undone by a little cash. It is much more likely that Spain's nightmare is just beginning.

Call me crazy, but I think I can guess why the state doesn't support jihadis' activities . . . that pesky wanting-to-continue-existing thing that Europe is only now starting to overcome . . .

#3  I've concluded that I can never hope to understand those damn euro's. They are just intent on giving their countries away to those murderous bastards.
God forbid you stand up for yourself.

#5  This horsesh!t reads like communist manifesto doctrine:

"As the only political system religion of truth that exists on earth today, communism Islam takes appropriate action to remove all physical and material obstacles that try to impede its efforts to liberate mankind from submission to anyone other than Marx God. … The practical way to ensure the removal of those physical obstacles while not forcing anyone to adopt communism Islam is to smash the power of those authorities based on false beliefs until they declare their capitulation submission and demonstrate this by shipping us grain and making technology transfers paying the submission tax."

#7  If you go by the assumption fundamental Islamic terrorists are just another political party trying to make their voice heard, buying them off seems perfectly rational. And if your assumption is wrong,or they won't be bought, hey, all you think you've really done is waste someone elses' money.

As to what's wrong w/Euros,may I suggest that the generation who fought WW2 is dead or retired, they are NOT in power.Their children grew up in a Europe at war that as adults sees all of Europe at peace w/one another and wonder what war accomplished, and their childrens' children see this peace as natural and that only crazy people fight wars.Normal people will always be able to sit down and reach an agreement.Combine that w/Parliamentary political system that each European country has that often involves negotiating between several parties to get a Parliamentary majority. For example a small center party may be part of right or left coalition,as well as being left out in successive governments, leading to a muting of differences and positions that sound impressive but mean nothing, because they don't want to offend potential partners.

In contrast, the US system of two parties,w/winner take all, leads to more confrontational politics. And third world dictatorships obviously aren't negotiating w/others in the country, only one group gets power.

What's wrong w/the Euro's is they've had little to do w/world in past 40 years and they believe rest of world thinks like Europe, that if we just sit down together and talk, everything will work out.(The UN non-Euro delegates often were Euro educated, leading to further self-imaging.)

I read this, shook my head, started heading for the wall to hit my head on, then thought better of the idea. I am going outside to converse with my son's chickens. THEY make more rational sense than the spanish politicos.

#11  In. Fucking. Credible.

Instead os screaming "SANTIAGO!" and setting out to kill or deport all the Islamofascist assholes they can find, the Spanish Socialistas are going to subsidize their own (seemingly inevitable, now) destruction. Brilliant!

Reminds me of PL/1 on the PDP-11 for some odd reason...
