Tenured law professor Amy Wax has come under fire for making racist comments during an online interview with a fellow academic
'The US is better off with fewer Asians and less Asian immigration,' Wax said in a December interview with Brown University's Glenn Loury, an African-American
'It’s just harder to assimilate those people or to have confidence that our way of life will continue if we bring a lot of people in who are not familiar,' she went on
These are not original ideas on the [political] right,' the educator asserted
The off-color comment came during a conversation between the two academics concerning US immigration
Wax has faced backlash for similar comments in the past, saying the US is better off with 'fewer nonwhites' in 2019 and disparaging black students in 2018
Penn Law School Dean Theodore Ruger called Wax's comments 'anti-intellectual' and 'racist' but as of Tuesday, she is currently still employed by the school

Commentary by Russian journalist Boris Rozhin
[ColonelCassad] The Houthis hijacked the Emirati ship Rwabi, which was transporting a cargo of medicines and equipment (according to the Saudi coalition) from the captured island of Socotra to the Saudi port of Jizan.
Rwabi was captured in the Red Sea near Hodeidah. The vessel itself is a small transport with a displacement of 1666 tons built in 2021.
Pro-Iranian sources report that these actions were a response to the capture by the Saudis and emirates of ships with humanitarian supplies for Yemen, which had permission to pass from the UN.
The next stage of escalation, if the parties raise rates, is attacks on Saudi tankers in the Red Sea with the help of cruise missiles and ATGM boats (although at the moment the informal agreement concluded several years ago in Aden not to touch the tankers is being respected).
It is worth noting that the ships of the Saudi coalition sail off the west coast of Yemen without an escort, which makes them vulnerable not only to missile attacks, but also to capture by boats.
The coalition warships are trying to stay away from the coast, after serious losses in 2016-2018, when several warships were seriously damaged after missile hits, and one patrol catamaran completely burned down after a missile hit. In this case, the Houthis again recalled the vulnerability of enemy ships on one of the central transport arteries of the world.
PS. In addition to the commemorative events that swept across the Shiite world in honor of Qassem Soleimani, killed by the Americans, a kamikaze drone attack on the American Victory Base in Baghdad followed today.
Air defense systems shot down two drones. It can be expected that attacks on American assets in Iraq will continue in the coming days, especially since a number of groups have already announced that all the American military and its infrastructure are legitimate targets in the fight against foreign occupation of Iraq.
PS2. The Houthis showed a photo from the hijacked ship. The Saudi coalition itself lied about medicines - "Rwabi" transported army wheeled vehicles.
[Breitbart] Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that he believes "this country is going to be saved at the state level," which is why the House Freedom Caucus (HFC) recently announced its intention to establish versions of the Freedom Caucus throughout state legislatures.
"We put this together, this idea, about a year ago, and have been working on it," Biggs told Breitbart News at Turning Point USA’s recent AmericaFest conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
"There will be a separate unit, legally, and they’re going to — help provide communication and liaison between state legislative HFCs, and then federal HFC," the congressman explained.
"We think that this country is going to be saved at the state level, so we want to be able to provide the support that they need," Biggs said. "We want them to know what the FEDs are doing, and we want to hear what they’re doing and what their issues are so we can have better communication to try to fix what’s going on in Congress that affects negatively the states."
Biggs added that he believes the Freedom Caucuses will be the future of the Republican Party, "which is already a more right-leaning Party than it has been."
"I think we have a chance to really change the dialog, and the trajectory of the Republican Party long-term," he said. "And that really is the vision that I have and that the Freedom Caucuses have."
After being asked if he thinks the White House putting pressure on Big Tech to silence American citizens is a violation of the First Amendment, Biggs said, "That’s fascism, because they’re using big business to implement big government and anti-Constitutional policies."

"State Level" salvation? A valiant effort, but it didn't work so well at Chickamauga in '63. Sadly, I feel the American experiment with federally imposed communism will have to play itself out. I hope and pray I am once again, wrong.

Is this something you are endorsing, thinking about, or planning for Besoeker?
I have been thinking about entering the thermal scope market due to bad luck with my night vision set up.
Rantburg commenters have been dancing around this theory for a good bit. Some were wishing they were dead Saturday.
[RWMALONEMD] "The head of Indianapolis-based insurance company OneAmerica said the death rate is up a stunning 40% from pre-pandemic levels among working-age people.
"We are seeing, right now, the highest death rates we have seen in the history of this business — not just at OneAmerica," the company’s CEO Scott Davison said during an online news conference this week. "The data is consistent across every player in that business."

The homeless numbers have gone up.
One would think Covid would have reduced those numbers. Of course they could be a higher replacement rate because of idiot economic policies. It's hard to say.
