65-year-old New Yorker charged for blowing away would-be mugger who allegedly rushed him despite warnings
[The Blaze] The 65-year-old man who blew away a would-be mugger Wednesday in Queens escaped with his life and property, but may now stand to lose his freedom.

Charles Foehner was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm after voluntarily turning himself in following a fatal shooting at 123-20 82nd Avenue early Wednesday morning. Foehner, who had a clean record, has an active NYPD firearms permit for a shotgun — just not for the revolver that may have saved his life.

Extra to the weapons charges, the New York Daily News indicated authorities are now looking into whether Foehner should similarly be hit with murder charges.

Outside a parking garage in Kew Gardens, the 65-year-old was allegedly confronted by 32-year-old Cody Gonzalez, born Cody Baum.

Parent files suit after teen daughter 'severely beaten' by trans student in Oklahoma
[NYPOST] An Oklahoma teen girl was "severely beaten" by a trans student in a school bathroom, prompting the injured pupil’s parent to file a lawsuit against the district for not enforcing a state law that restricts restroom use for transgender people.

The lawsuit filed last Thursday by Theresa Gooden alleges that her 15-year-old daughter — identified as "E.G." — was "attacked and severely beaten" in the girls’ restroom at Edmond Memorial High School by a 17-year-old transgender woman on Oct. 26, 2022.

The document, which was obtained by The Post, notes that the accused attacker was assigned male at birth, and was using the women’s bathroom despite a state law signed in May 2022 that requires public school students to use restrooms matching the sex on their birth certificates.

Trans students who decline to follow the policy must use "a single-occupancy restroom or changing room.’"

The alleged attacker was removed from the school by police on Oct. 21 after threatening E.G., the lawsuit states.

The school district said in a statement in December that it did not know the student was assigned male at birth because they only started attending Edmond Memorial days before the incident, FOX25 reported.

The student’s parents enrolled them as a woman without a birth certificate, which is not required to begin high school, the statement continued.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Budweiser ad touting Harley-Davidson-marked cans mocked following Mulvaney backlash
[NYPOST] Anheuser-Busch is being accused of pandering to conservatives who have boycotted Bud Light by releasing a new Harley-Davidson-themed commercial for sister brand Budweiser.

The beer company, which has seen sales of Bud Light tank in recent weeks following the backlash over its partnership with transgender social media influencer Dylan Stench of Death Mulvaney
...the transexual influencer who single-handedly trashed a major American beer brand owned by a Belgian company, tainted Maybelline and Condé Nast, and then demanded that anybody who called him/her/it a man be arrested...
, recently released a Budweiser ad touting specially created cans with the Harley Davidson logo.

"The greatest legacies are built with grit and resilience — one detail at a time," the narrator of the commercial said in between footage of a mechanic tending to a Harley Davidson cycle of violence.

The commercial also cuts to shots of a can of Budweiser that bears the cycle of violence brand’s logo.

The mechanic depicted in the commercial wipes sweat from his brow as he shines a Harley-Davidson cycle of violence.

The narrator then urges consumers to buy "limited edition Harley-Davidson cans" — whose release was timed to mark 120 years since the Milwaukee-based cycle of violence company’s founding.

"For those who give everything to their craft, this Bud’s for you," the narrator said, ending the 23-second commercial.

Ironically, Mulvaney posted an image to her millions of social media followers showing a specially created can of Bud Light with her likeness.

The can, which was gifted to Mulvaney to mark the anniversary of her transition to womanhood, was never sold publicly, but the backlash was severe.

In the weeks following the Mulvaney blowup, Budweiser and Bud Light were accused of pandering to consumers by releasing patriotic-themed ads, including one featuring the iconic Clydesdale horses.

Reaction on social media to the latest Budweiser ad was largely negative.

13 lives lost from toxic porridge consumption in Namibia
[AFRICANEWS] Thirteen individuals tragically bit the dust within a three-day period, while four others are currently at death's door after consuming suspected poisonous food in Namibia.

According to local media, all the affected individuals were part of a household consisting of 22 people in Kayova village, situated in the northeastern region of Kavango.

The majority of the dear departed were children who were reportedly in dire need of nourishment.

The health ministry, as cited by the state broadcaster NBC, revealed that the family had consumed porridge prepared with pearl millet flour and fermented sediment derived from a homemade beverage.

In response to the devastating incident, the ministry swiftly dispatched a team of professionals to offer psychological support and counseling to the grieving family.

Additionally, samples of the porridge have been sent to South Africa for testing, aiming to determine the presence of food poisoning.

The authorities are actively investigating the incident, and the affected family is receiving comprehensive assistance to cope with this heart-wrenching situation.

Zimbabwe: Freedoms threatened by 'terrible' new law

[AFRICANEWS] Zim-bob-we's parliament has barred criticism of the government ahead of presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled in August.

According to reports, violations of the new law is punishable by up to 20 years in jail.

The Criminal Law Code Amendment Bill, widely known as the "Patriotic Bill", contains a clause that criminalises "wilfully damaging the illusory sovereignty and national interest of Zim-bob-we", Rooters quoted in a report.

the law, passed late on Wednesday, was designed to punish citizens, civil society organizations and political adversaries of the ruling ZANU-PF party.

It has raised fears that the government could launch a crackdown on dissent ahead of the general election on Aug. 23, where President Emmerson Mnangagwa will be seeking a second term.

lawyer and pastor Nelson Chamisa, 45, who leads the newly formed Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) will be his main contender.

CCC spokesperson and lawyer, Fadzayi Mahere, described the law as "dangerous" and said it aimed at closing the democratic space ahead of elections.

"ZANU-PF has reduced our great nation into an outpost of tyranny," Mahere told Rooters.

Government Corruption
National Archives Refuses to Hand Over Emails Between Hunter Biden and Joe Biden's Staff
[American Greatness] The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) refuses to hand over requested communications between Hunter Biden and then-Vice President Joe Biden’s staff.

Just The News reports that the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by America First Legal (AFL) has been rejected by NARA, which is claiming an exemption that allegedly includes communications between the president and his advisors, as well as communications between advisors.
"But it doesn't apply to Trump"
On Wednesday, AFL released the emails that it had received from NARA, which were heavily-redacted. Despite handing over some emails, NARA confirmed the existence of additional communications that it refused to release.

One of the points of interest in AFL’s request is an email from Hunter Biden’s business partner at the time, Eric Schwerin, sent to the Office of the Vice President (OVP), concerning an alleged "China Lunch" that took place ahead of an official visit from Chinese President Hu Jintao in 2011. NARA claimed that releasing this particular email "would disclose confidential advice between the President and his advisors, or between such advisors."

Emails found on the controversial laptop that once belonged to Hunter Biden had already confirmed a "China Lunch," as this was the subject line of multiple emails that were exchanged between the younger Biden, Schwerin, and OVP staffer Michele Smith. The laptop communications suggested that the conversation between Hunter and Schwerin focused on who should be invited to a state event with then-Vice President Biden, with Schwerin subsequently giving Hunter’s suggestions to Smith.

NARA’s refusal comes as congressional Republicans have used their new majority in the House of Representatives to investigate the Biden family over allegations of corruption, influence-peddling, and abuse of power both during his vice presidency and since he took office as president in 2021. The Bidens, and especially Hunter, have been accused of securing numerous lucrative business deals in foreign countries by using their influence and promise of political connections in exchange for large payments. Some of the countries involved include Russia, China, and Ukraine.

#3  During the Obama Presidency in particular, boosted by the entire "community organizer" skill set of his minions, Champ salted the DC bureaucracy deeply, way down into rank-and-file civil servants. The bumper crop of malignant, arrogant, demokrat management-class, was on display for Trump, and has been nurtured further by Rice-Powers et al, while the Bidet Clown Show is on stage. They are virtually immune to discipline and resist any rightward policy changes with tactics long established within every leviathan organization. NARA is just the latest example, but consider DoJ and DoS as the most prime displays of hubristic political bias.

Stunned John Kirby Stammers Out a Denial and Leaves Podium after White House Reporter Details Joe Biden Bribe Allegations and Whistleblower Charges, Asks About Majority of Americans Believing Biden is Corrupt
[Gateway] White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby was stunned by a reporter’s question at Wednesday’s briefing that mentioned a bribery allegation against Joe Biden, along with his involvement in the Biden family’s international business dealings and whistleblower charges of interference in investigations, followed with a request to comment on a recent poll showing a majority of Americans believe Joe Biden is corrupt.

Kirby let out a shocked, "Wow!" and then stood in stunned silence for several seconds while a gasp of "Jesus!" could be heard in the room. A man off camera volunteered to take the question for Kirby but White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told him no. After gathering his thoughts, Kirby stammered out a brief denial on Biden’s behalf and referred the part about the whistleblower to the FBI before leaving the podium.

The bold questioner was New York Post reporter Steven Nelson.

SCOTUS Rules Against Teamsters Union
[Yahoo News, hat tip to Epoch Times] The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday dealt another setback to organized labor by making it easier for employers to sue over strikes that cause property destruction in a ruling siding with a concrete business in Washington state that sued the union representing its truck drivers after a work stoppage.

The 8-1 decision overturned a lower court's ruling that said the lawsuit filed by Glacier Northwest Inc, which sells and delivers ready-mix concrete, against a local affiliate of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters was preempted by a U.S. law called the National Labor Relations Act.

The Washington state Supreme Court in 2021 ruled that the company's claims were preempted by a statute called the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), saying the company's loss of concrete was incidental to a strike that could be considered arguably protected under federal labor law.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who wrote the ruling, said the union's actions had not only destroyed the concrete but had also "posed a risk of foreseeable, aggravated and imminent harm to Glacier's trucks."

"Because the union took affirmative steps to endanger Glacier's property rather than reasonable precautions to mitigate that risk, the NLRA does not arguably protect its conduct," Barrett wrote.

Liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, in a 27-page dissent, wrote that the ruling "is likely to cause considerable confusion among the lower courts".
