Latinos New Majority in Federal Prisons
Latinos comprised 50.3 percent of all people sentenced in that time period, blacks 19.7 percent and whites 26.4 percent.

"Statistics like this have to start drawing attention to this country's immigration policies and what we're doing, if this is one of the results," said Fordham University Law School professor Deborah Denno, an expert on racial disparities in the criminal justice system. "The implications for Latinos are huge when you think of the number of families affected by having their breadwinners put away for what in some cases would be considered a non-violent offense."

#1  It's seems Latino Bread winners are not bakers, but bread thieves, when they "win" bread someone loses bread.

#2  ..for what in some cases would be considered a non-violent offense."

I believe he is referring to -

...felony immigration crimes — which include illegal crossing and other crimes such as alien smuggling — were responsible for most of the increase in the number of Latinos sent to prison over the last decade.

Don't do the crime, don't do the time.

Belgian men to drop briefs to save piglets pain
[Straits Times] Belgian men are being urged to 'Let-em hang!' and go brief-free on Friday by animal rights campaigners bent on ending the pain of the five million piglets castrated in the country each year.

'Through the 'Let 'em hang!' campaign we are seeking to convince farmers to allow their piglets to let them hang too,' said animal welfare group Gaia in a statement issued to save animals from a knife administered without painkillers.

'We are hoping for mass participation so that supermarkets stop selling pork from castrated pigs,' added campaigner Michel Vandenbosch.

Gaia said it was asking men, 'who can easily imagine the suffering caused by live castration', to leave their briefs and boxer-shorts in the cupboard September 9 'to show solidarity' with the pigs. Women should 'hide their partners' underwear'.
Y'know, if they gave up eating little dead piggies and switched to overstuffed goose liver instead, no fluffy little piggies would need to lose their cute little male bits. Of course, their mommies wouldn't have been given the opportunity to give birth to them, but that's life when you're a consumer product.

#3  And if they did, how could you tell?

If they had a government, it would be condemning Israel.

Everyone who is against pig castration should be locked in a 10' X 10' room with an uncastrated boar for 10 minutes. If they live, ask them if their opinion has changed.

Top Russian hockey team wiped out in plane crash
A passenger airplane chartered by one of Russia’s most famous hockey teams crashed during take-off Wednesday, killing much of the team, including many of its star players.

The team, Lokomotiv, was heading from its home in Yaroslavl to an away game in Minsk. First accounts of the number of people on board varied from 37 to 44. A Russian aviation official said that all but one — a member of the crew — had died.

Vladimir N. Malkov, a spokesman for Lokomotiv, said in a telephone interview, "We have no team any more. All our starting players, and all the service people, they all burned in the crash."

#2  "I easily imagine sitting in the bleachers, eating a hot dog (or three) and drinking a Coke, talking football (the American kind) with parents and maybe slipping in a little 9/11 if they allow me.

It's the "slipping in of a little 9/11" that has the good people of Texas concerned.
Posted by: JohnQC || 09/07/2011 12:58 Comments || Top||

#3  "Ten miles," he wrote Sunday in a blog post. "That's how deep I got into Texas before being asked to leave."

First of all jacknut, they didn't stop you and tell you to turn back, you stopped in uninvited, were rude, and were asked to not film. You were not escorted out by police or on a rail.

Why rude, like many parents across the land they are at the game to watch their kids play ball, not smookle with some out of town douchebag trying to frame a story.

I want to eat hot dogs and talk american football with you. May I film your kids? whatta dork.
