Taliban Reports Nearly $1 Billion in Afghan Exports in Last 7 Months
How much of that is opium products?
[KhaamaPress] The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced that the Afghan exports to Pakistain, India, and Tajikistan have earned nearly $1 billion in the past 7 months.

According to the Head of Information and Public Relations of the Taliban Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Jawad Dabeer, the exports of Afghanistan have generated almost $1 billion in the last 7 months.

The Afghan exports to Pakistain, India, and Tajikistan have surpassed $743 million, $207 million, and $23 million respectively, according to Dabeer’s tweet from Saturday, November 6.

The US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) previously reported the surge in Afghanistan’s exports to Pakistain on Friday, November 4, in a report.

According to the SIGAR report, Afghanistan exported 796 million dollars to Pakistain between 2021 and 2022.

With a daily export of 10,000 tons, coal appears to be Afghanistan’s principal export product, and its price has climbed in response to the rise in energy costs brought on by the conflict in the Ukraine.

Each ton of coal now costs $280, up from $90 last year. Despite this, the price of coal in Afghanistan is currently $40 per ton less expensive than the price on the global market.

According to SIGAR, Afghanistan has had the most trade with Pakistain as a result of international sanctions, thus, places Pakistain on the top of the list of Afghan exports.

Delawar: Over 1,000 Officials, Businesspeople Have Returned to Afghanistan
But how many, like former president Hamid Karzai’s brother, were arrested by the Taliban after false promises of security?
[ToloNews] Recent data from the Commission for "Return and Communications with Former Afghan Officials and Political Figures," shows that about a thousand businesspeople and political/military figures have returned to Afghanistan.

The head of the commission, Shahabuddin Delawar, told TOLOnews that a large number of former ministers, governors, generals, and other political and military figures had returned to Afghanistan.

Delwar asked all Afghan political figures and investors return to Afghanistan and participate in the growth of the country.

"High-ranking and low-ranking officials are among the people who have returned to the nation; the number is not hundreds but maybe a thousand. We made a way for our compatriots to return to their nation," said Delawar.

Meanwhile,
...back at the secret hideout, Scarface Al sneeringly put his proposition to little Nell...
political experts said that Afghanistan is the home of all Afghans and the government should consult with the returning figures on various issues facing the country.

"The government should safeguard and respect their dignity, personality, and responsibilities, and also consult with them on some issues," said Mohammad Hassan Haqyar, a political analyst.

"They should work on it so that the Afghan cadres who have been in the West and other foreign nations for twenty to thirty years should be called, invited, and should be provided with these privileges," said Sayed Bilal Ahmad Fatumi, a political analyst.

The "Commission for the Return and Communications with Former Afghan Officials and Political Figures," was established in 1401 (solar year) and its purpose is to provide a way for the return of political, military figures and other people who left Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul.

Taliban reveal burial place of founder Mullah Omar, nine years after death
[La Belle France24] The Taliban on Sunday revealed the final resting place of the movement's founder, Mullah Omar, whose death and burial they kept secret for years.

Rumours surrounding Omar's health and whereabouts abounded after the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
were kicked out of power in 2001 by a US-led invasion, and they only admitted in April 2015 that he had died two years earlier.

Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid told AFP Sunday that big shots of the movement attended a ceremony at his gravesite earlier in the day near Omarzo, in Suri district of Zabul province.

The Taliban returned to power in August last year, routing government forces as the US-led military that propped up the regime ended a 20-year occupation.

"Since a lot of enemies were around and the country was occupied, to avoid damage to the tomb it was kept secret," Mujahid said.

"Only the close family members were aware of the place," he added.

Pictures released by officials showed Taliban leaders gathered around a simple white brick tomb, covered with what appears to be gravel and enclosed in a green metal cage.

"Now the decision has been made... there are no issues for the people to visit the tomb," Mujahid said.

Omar, who was aged around 55 when he died, founded the Taliban in 1993 as an antidote to the internecine civil war that erupted following the decade-long Soviet occupation.

Under his leadership the Taliban introduced an extremely austere version of Islamic rule, barring women from public life and introducing harsh public punishments -- including executions and floggings.

MASSOUD TOMB REPORTED VANDALISED
Omar's ceremony comes a day after provincial Taliban officials denied reports that the Panjshir Valley tomb of resistance hero Ahmad Shah Massoud had been vandalised, an act Mujahid said would be "punished" if true.

Massoud has a mixed legacy in the country, where he is hailed by ordinary Afghans for leading the resistance against the Soviet occupation, but loathed by the Taliban he also fought until his 2001 liquidation by al-Qaeda.

His tomb is in an imposing granite and marble mausoleum overlooking the picturesque Panjshir Valley, and guarded by Taliban fighters since their takeover of the country in August last year.

Local residents said a newly arrived contingent of fighters smashed the tombstone, and video of the desecrated grave -- which could not be verified -- was published by local media and circulating widely on social channels.

"It happened when the new forces entered Panjshir. The new forces from Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
and Kandahar destroyed the tombstone of the national hero," one resident told AFP.

Nasrullah Malakzada, head of information and culture of Panjshir, province, denied the tomb had been damaged and issued a video purporting to show it intact.

The clip, however, pointedly did not display the entire structure -- particularly the part seen damaged in the original video.

Malakzada refused requests by journalists to visit or photograph the tomb for themselves.

Mujahid told news hounds that nobody had the right to insult the dead.

"Previously we had punished those who committed such acts," he said, adding "this will be investigated as well and necessary action will be taken"

U.S veterans in Texas demonstrate for ‘Afghan Adjustment Act’ law saying it can save the lives of U.S allies
[KhaamaPress] Dozens of U.S veterans met at San Antonio in Texas on Saturday to protest for the Afghan Adjustment Act law which has been pending for approval for several weeks despite it being endorsed by a high number of U.S congressmen.

The legislation will help about 300,000 Afghan men and women who assisted the U.S mission in Afghanistan and could not get to the United States before the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
took over Afghanistan last year, Texas Public Radio reported.

Matt Zeller, an Army veteran and senior advisor with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America speaking to Texas Public Radio said that if this law is not passed, the majority of the U.S allies in Afghanistan maybe dead by the next year.

Currently the U.S government has expedited the process for the Special Immigration Visa holders, however a large number of others who have been evacuated to the United States under a two-year Parole humanitarian visa have no clear path towards getting lawful status in the United States.

According to the veterans supporting Afghan Adjustment Act law, if the paroles are not approved for asylum before August next year, a large number of them would be facing the risk of being periled which will be even more dangerous for their safety.

The parolees have been given Employment Authorization and Social Security Numbers that are expiring in August next year. The kids who are enrolled in schools and the adult members who have been given jobs based on these documents will be helpless as soon as their documents expire.

The regular asylum program would take much longer as there are over 1.8 million applications filed before them.

Nazira, whose real name is avoided in this report due to security concerns was resettled to Maryland in February after spending 6 months inside Fort McCoy, a military base in Wisconsin has been engaged with a volunteer attorney for almost 8 months to file an asylum application.

Speaking with Khaama Press, Nazira says she is tired of waiting so long to file an asylum application for which she had every documents ready months ago.

If every process is slow-moving like this, the majority of parolees will face huge challenges by next August, Nazira told Khaama Press.

Nazira believes that there are thousands of Afghan parolees who have not yet been connected to any attorney or they have never yet found a chance of looking for a law firm as they are expecting to hear from the resettlement agencies about providing them free attorneys.

According to Nazira, the Afghan Adjustment Act law would give the newly resettled Afghan refugees a hope and would help them obtain lawful status for peace of mind and living opportunities in the United States.

This comes as the United States of America evacuated tens of thousands of its allies in Afghanistan following the collapse of the country into the hands of Taliban last year.

A large number of U.S congressmen and senators introduced Afghan Adjustment Act (AAA) law in August. The senators and veterans are raising voice in support of this law in different states to gain attention and provide further awareness about it.
