Afghanistan
Taliban Establishes Commission to Investigate Detainees in Northern Afghanistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
-controlled media reported that the Taliban has established a six-member commission to investigate the cases of the people that have been detained during the "military operations in Panjshir" province in northern Afghanistan.According to the Bakhtar state news agency, Mullah Hassan Akhund, the Taliban’s prime minister, directed the establishment of this commission.

Mawlawi Neda Mohammad Nadim the governor of the Taliban administration in Kabul has been selected as the chairperson of the newly established Taliban commission.

Bakhtar’s report made no mention of the number of detainees, but in recent weeks, more than 200 people were detained in Panjshir’s Rakha and Abshar districts.

The people who have been arrested in Panjshir province in the Taliban military operations, according to the Taliban-run media, are held in prisons in Kabul, the Afghan capital.

Earlier, Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban government’s front man, claimed that more than 100 members of the National Resistance® Front (NRF), an gang resisting the Taliban rule, were tossed into the calaboose as part of the front’s suppression.

As they work to put down an armed uprising in the country’s north, Taliban authorities in Afghanistan are accused of engaging in extrajudicial killings and other violations of human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...

The Grand Turk
Turkish authorities not involved with migrants at Greek border
[AlArabiya] Turkey denied involvement in an incident where Greece found 92 illegal migrants close to its northern border with Turkey, Turkish Deputy Interior Minister Ismail Catakli said late on Saturday.

“As you couldn’t find one single case of a human rights violation by Turkey, you just seek to expose the image of your own cruelty as if Turkey did it,” Catakli said on Twitter replying to a tweet by Notis Mitarachi, Greek Minister of Migration.

Greek police said on Saturday that they have rescued a group of 92 migrants who were discovered naked and believed to have crossed into Greek territory from Turkey illegally.

Catakli also called on Greece to stop “manipulation and dishonesty.”

Egypt moves to promote long-stalled development of Gaza offshore gas
After they spend another decade getting nowhere, it’ll be time to look for the next bright idea that won’t pan out because Hamas won’t share with the eeeeeevil Juices.
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinians have long been looking for investors to extract the estimated 28 billion cubic meters of natural gas off Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...

East Jerusalem refugee camp reels from Israeli crackdown
Yes, they’re suffering. but mostly it’s because as a community they choose to be ungovernable, and belong to the Palestinian Authority, which is still trying to get the world to give them all of Israel — from the Jordan to the MediterraneanSea..
[IsraelTimes] As authorities continue their hunt for a shooter who killed a soldier at a checkpoint, residents in seething Shuafat say they are besieged and their circumstances growing desperate.

A line of cars snaked through the garbage-strewn streets of the Shuafat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, as Paleostinians waited to pass an Israeli checkpoint. Alaa Gharab was sunk down behind the steering wheel at an intersection that resembled a ragged war zone, littered with burnt tires, gutted appliances and the charred carcass of a car. It was the first time she could leave the camp since last Saturday night, when a Paleostinian gunman fired at the checkpoint from close range, killing an 18-year-old female Israeli soldier and severely wounding a security guard before disappearing toward Shuafat.
Sounds like a real shithole, that nobody will clean up. Too lazy, spiteful, they foul their own nests and demand others clean it up
The attack prompted a large-scale and ongoing manhunt. As part of the search, Israeli security forces choked off the camp’s entry and exit points, bringing life to a standstill for its estimated 60,000 residents.

#1  Palestinians with gumption left refugee camps a long time ago. There are still nearly 400,000 rotting in camps in Jordan and God knows how many in Lebanon. No Arab nation wants them, and for good reason.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
My friends died of torture in Turkish-held prisons in Syria: Former detainee
[Rudaw] A woman from northwestern Syria’s Afrin city, who spent over two years imprisoned by Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian opposition forces, decried the overwhelming disregard for human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
inside the prisons, telling Rudaw about her friends who died under the varying forms of torture they were continuously subjected to.

The Ottoman Turkish forces and their Syrian proxies launched Operation Olive Branch on January 20, 2018, in Afrin. Ankara seized control of the city from the People’s Protection Units (YPG) on two months later.

Seeking sanctuary, thousands of indigenous Kurds were forced to flee Afrin to Kurdish-controlled areas in northeast Syria (Rojava) when Ankara invaded the city.

Lonzhin Abdo was detained by Ottoman Turkish-backed bully boy groups in Afrin alongside her father Mohammed Abdo and her sister Rozhin Abdo in June 2018. After spending over two and a half years in different prisons of Syrian opposition forces, Lonzhin and her family were released in January 2020.

"We stayed at numerous prisons, not only those of al-Hamzat," Lonzhin told Rudaw’s Hussein Omar on Saturday, referring to the Syrian National Army (SNA)-affiliated rebel group which has cooperated with Ottoman Turkish armed forces in the area since 2013.

"Before Hamzat, we were held by Ottoman Turkish intelligence forces... it was nearly eight months of continued torture. The torturing methods were not only beatings; rather they had a variety of different torturing methods that continued 24 hours a day. Each prison was a death for us. There were mass graves. We buried many of our friends there," she added.

Ottoman Turkish-backed groups have been widely accused of human rights violations against Afrin’s locals, including kidnap, looting and extortion.

Several people died of hunger or illnesses and numerous other did away with himself due to the harsh conditions, according to the former detainee, saying they never received any medical care inside the prisons.

In addition to the poor conditions inside the prisons, Lonzhin says the detainees were also prohibited from any form of contact with their families and also denied legal representation and court hearings.

"For two years and seven months we had no contact with our families. We had no contact with our mother until they told us that our mother and brothers were killed," said Lonzhin, adding "there were also no legal prosecutions... We would ask what have we done? But no one would answer."

Over 7,000 Kurds from Afrin were kidnapped and arrested since the invasion, reported SOHR in March, with that around 1,300 of them remaining in prison. The conflict forced over 310,000 families to flee the area, the rights watchdog added.

In its annual report for 2019, Amnesty documented a "wide range of abuses" against Afrin’s civilian at the hands of Ottoman Turkish-backed groups, including the arbitrary detention of more than 50 locals.
