Former Somali President Calls For Ceasefire In Tukaraq
[RADIOSHABELLE] Former Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called for an immediate end to the fighting between Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
and the breakaway region of Somaliland in Tukaraq village.

Mohamud urged the warring sides halt the bloodshed, withdraw the troops from the battle zones in Sool region and engage in talks to solve the conflict.

The former leader asked the local elders, traders and intellectuals to contribute to the peace efforts aimed at halting the escalating tension in the region.

Somaliland and Puntland are both pointing fingers at the other for starting latest fighting which claimed the lives of the dozens of people and forced families to flee their house.

The tension is still as both sides reportedly employed light and heavy guns near Tukaraq District, about 1,100km northwest of the Somali capital Mogadishu.

Somaliland and Puntland have hand long-standing border disputes, particularly over Sool and Sanaag regions that separate them.

Somaliland has declared independence from the rest of Somalia in 1991 but has since failed to win international recognition.

Puntland was established as a semi-autonomous authority in 1998 but remains a member state of the federal government of Somalia.

Arabia
Yemenis protest against Saudi-led attack on Hudaydah
[PRESSTV] Thousands of Yemenis have taken to the streets of the port city of Hudaydah to protest against the Saudi-led aggression and to condemn the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
’ silence.
Well, I suppose they would.
Residents of Tihamah region, which encompasses Hudaydah, staged a rally in the city on Friday to protest against the Saudi aggression, stressing that the invaders seek to dominate Yemen.

In a statement issued on Friday, the protesters voiced their support to the Yemeni army and popular committees in their battle against the Saudi invaders and their agents.

The statement also held Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, the UAE and their allies responsible for the crimes committed in the war and the consequences of the Saudi-led blockade.

It also called on the United Nations to shoulder its responsibility to protect the civilians and ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance to them.

The protesters also condemned the stance of the UN on the humanitarian crisis in Hudaydah, considering its silence as evidence to its complicity in the aggression and its support for the invaders.

During the protest, the deputy governor of Hudaydah, Sheikh Ali Qeshr, stressed that the province will be turned into "a graveyard for any aggressor" by Yemeni forces.

Hafiz Saeed's son, son-in-law to contest NA seats from Punjab

(JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed
...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat...
will be contesting the upcoming elections for National Assembly seats from Punjab, JuD's Deputy Information Secretary Ahmed Nadeem said on Friday.

The Election Commission of Pakistain (ECP) has accepted the nomination papers of Hafiz Talha Saeed (son) and Hafiz Khalid Waleed (son-in-law) for NA-91 (Sargodha-IV) and NA-133 (Lahore-XI) respectively, the official said.

The two are among 265 candidates who will be contesting the upcoming polls on the little-known Allah-o-Akbar Tehrik's (AAT) ticket. The ECP had earlier refused to register the Milli Moslem League (MML) as a political party, which was considered a political front for the JuD.

Musharraf resigns as APML chairman
[DAWN] Former president Pervez Perv Musharraf
... former dictator of Pakistain, who was less dictatorial and corrupt than any Pak civilian government to date ...
has resigned as the chairman of the All Pakistain Moslem League (APML), according to the new party chairman, Dr Mohammad Amjad.

Dr Amjad told DawnNewsTV that Musharraf had tendered his resignation to the party on June 18 due to the Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
High Court's 2013 verdict which had disqualified him from politics for life.

That verdict has been challenged on Musharraf's behalf in the Supreme Court, which had issued a directive earlier this month allowing him to file his nomination papers only if he returned and was present in the court hearing on June 13 in Lahore, cautioning that the fate of the papers would be subject to the final decision in the present case.

Iraq
Khanaqin stages general strike demanding Peshmerga return
[Rudaw] KHANAQIN, Kurdistan Region ‐ The people of Khanaqin staged a general strike in a bid to send a message both to the Iraqi government and the KRG that they want the return of Kurdish security forces to their town amid deteriorating security.

Insecurity has increased in Khanaqin, including kidnapping and a reported three bombings in the last ten days alone.

"Today, a general strike is staged in Khanaqin. It has been organized by some civil society activists and journalists. The general strike is against the deteriorating security situation of Khanaqin," Amir, an activist, told Rudaw.

Shops were closed as were government and party offices.

The head of Khanaqin’s police conceded security is a problem.

"The police have less power. They are in control only in the towns of Qoratu and Maydan," said Brig. Gen. Azad Hisa Abdulrahman.

"The control of the security situation is about to be lost. That is why people are calling for the return of Peshmerga," he added.

Amir explained that their strike is a message to both the Kurdistan leadership and the Iraqi government.

"We hope for the security file to be handled jointly," he said.

The city of Khanaqin, which has a majority Kurdish population, is located within the disputed areas of northern Diyala province, 240 kilometres southeast of Erbil.

It came under Iraqi control last October when federal forces took over the disputed areas.

The town is known for its Kurdish nationalism.

Amir said that tens of Kurds have left their villages in the area because of insecurity.

Kurds have complained that they have been subject to abuse and discrimination by Iraqi and Hashd al-Shaabi forces in the disputed areas. ISIS cells are also active in the area.

"Based on the previous experience of Peshmerga and Asayesh [Kurdish security] being in Khanaqin, we saw stability with our own eyes. There were no issues or problems in our town," Sarwar, an activist and journalist, told Rudaw.

Their message is directed at both the federal and regional governments, calling on them to form a joint command to handle security, Sarawar added.

"This is a message to those who were saying they were establishing stability and security. No, they ruined security and stability," said a protester.

"From October 16 onwards, security no longer exists. People now don't dare to go outside. We used to stay out during the night in Khanaqin," he said, adding they would be thankful if Peshmerga return.

"From the day the Peshmerga and Asayesh went away, stability and security ceased to exist," he said.

Under Article 140 of the constitution, the disputed areas are to be jointly administered by Erbil and Baghdad. The passage has never been instituted.

Iraqi paramilitary troops deny withdrawal from borders near Syria
Anbar (IraqiNews.com) A source from the mobilization forces in Anbar province has denied withdrawal of paramilitary troops from the border region between Iraq and Syria.

Speaking to Almaalomah website, the source said "the news circulated on withdrawal of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) from their deployment regions near the Iraqi-Syrian borders after the troops were targeted in Syria are untrue."

The forces, according to the source "are deployed in the western region of the province. No withdrawal took place there, despite the tension that resulted after Israeli fighter jets shelled PMFs in Syria near borders with Iraq."

All the military units are deployed at the border region and are fighting to eliminate presence of IS members there, the source added.

In a statement on Monday, the Iraqi Military said troops on borders with Syria were not shelled by the U.S.-led Coalition troops, while other forces that were shelled were 1500 kilometers in the depth of Syria land.
So the PMFs are doubling down on the falsehood? Okay, then.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Russia’s Defense Ministry: OPCW missions in Syria violate Chemical Weapons Convention
[ALMASDARNEWS] The OPCW’s missions in Syria violate the provisions of the Chemical Weapons Convention, Major-General Igor Kirillov, Chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops, said on Friday.

"The remote nature of investigations as well as the collection, analysis and use of the documents obtained without specialists’ trips to the alleged sites of chemical weapons use, is in direct contradiction to the Convention’s provisions," Kirillov told news hounds at a joint press briefing of the Russian Foreign Ministry and Russia’s Defense Ministry.

He noted that the West seeks to grant the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) the right to issue guilty verdicts against certain countries and their leaders.

"The United States, the UK, La Belle France and their allies are once again trying to mislead the global community and seek confrontation," he said. "Taking advantage of staged chemical weapons attacks, they accuse Syria of violating the Chemical Weapons Convention and Russia of complicity in that. At the same time, a campaign has been launched to turn the OPCW into a politicized institution with the right to issue guilty verdicts against certain countries and their leaders," Kirillov said.

He added that the OPCW Fact-Finding Mission on the use of chemical weapons in Syria, which conducts its investigations relying on the US and its allies, plays an unsavory role

'Dreadful' future awaits world if nuclear deal collapses: Iran's Salehi
[PRESSTV] Iran's nuclear chief says the Middle East and the entire world will face a "dreadful" future if a 2015 multilateral nuclear agreement Tehran signed with the P5+1 group of countries falls apart.

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi made the remarks on Friday in an address to an expert panel held on the sidelines of the Oslo Forum in the presence of Norwegian and Omani foreign ministers.

He said the international community showed a severe reaction to the United States' "unwise and baseless" decisions, including its move to withdraw from the nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

"If the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
and other countries supporting the JCPOA do not demonstrate their practical opposition to the US policies in due time, they will face a dreadful future and unprecedented insecurity in the region and the world because of the JCPOA's collapse," AEOI chief said.

#2  About 87% of Iran's Oil is located in a single Province. ( Iran's WALLET is hemmed by the Zagros mountains and only five roads over and that can be interdicted by air superiority from an Air Craft Carrier )This Province is located on the border with Iraq. Its population is.( The USMC can hit the coast easily and take out the ONLY N/S rail line in Iran) largely Arab and NOT Persian. Iran has a population of perhaps 70 million. 16 million are NOT Persian. In many cases there are language and cultural divisions within the Iranian body politic and Demographics. Persians are "dominant" and regard Azeris as Cockroaches for instance. Azeris resent this . That sort of thing. Also Iran is largely Shiite and "other things". Iranians are notorious for the lack of homogeneity ( shall we say) in their factions and schisms of a religious flavor. Iran is NOTORIOUS for its Islamic disputes and nit picking. Iran is a whole world of nit picking when it comes to what Isalm is all about. In a word, they argue a lot and its just a hair below the surface that they tend to hate each other for "little things" of an irritating nature concerning the smiling face of Allah. Iran is FERTILE ground for religious division. Let's just say they are always bubbling toward 212* F and anything can set it off if it just happens to be a bad day.
One out of 20 Iranians are too familiar with drugs....Pakistan raises a LOT of Poppies and even MORE are raised in Afghanistan and Sistan Province passes the refined product to the whole world ( and the Iranian military get shot up in there regularly. I think it would be safe to say that Persian writ doesn't go all that far in Sistan. Heroin is sold cheaper than a pint of milk in Iran. Smuggling is, what word shall I use RIFE in Iran. And with the Sanctions it has a very BRIGHT future. Lots of things to exploit in Iran. Not to mention the Prostitution problem outside the gates of the local madrasa Seminaries. Big graveyards near the Seminaries, and big flat stones on many of the graves. You can find "ladies" sitting on the big flat stone grave markers. Ask one if they are "lonely". Iran is an interesting place and has a few "problems". If the CIIA (bureaucratic squirrels ) weren't so incompetent they might learn to speak Farsi.
