US Forces Accused Of Complicity In Somalia Raid That Left Five Civilians Dead
[RADIOSHABELLE] US special forces have been accused of complicity in the deaths of civilians after five ungunnies were killed during a raid by Somali troops last week that they "aided and assisted".

The casualties were described as banana farmers by local inhabitants, and appear to have been shot while trying to flee the site of the operation, which officials say targeted commanders of the al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
holy warrior group.

Somali intelligence officials say three men detained in the raid on a village in the Lower Shabelle region were senior myrmidons.

Mohammed Sheikh Mohamud, a farmer in the village of Ma’alinka, 37 miles south of Mogadishu, told the Guardian the operation started at about 1am last Thursday when "forces came down from a helicopter and started shooting the people in the farm".

Mohamud said he knew the five men killed. Two were tractor drivers at a banana farm, and three were cattle farmers.

Anisa Abdullahi, a mortuary attendant who inspected the bodies when they were brought into the Medina hospital in Mogadishu the day after the raid, said four of the men died from fatal bullet wounds to the back and one was killed by a wound to the chest.

"After checking, we found all died because of gun shots. The type of the weapon is one type, as the wound holes have similar sizes," Anisa Abdullahi told the Guardian.

There are no accounts of any sustained resistance to the special forces during the raid. Four Somali security officials and a senior officer with the Amisom regional force based in Mogadishu said they did not believe any weapons had been seized during the operation.

A second resident in the area said he just left the farm when he heard the first shot.

"It was past midnight and all was peaceful when the shooting began. Nobody fired at them as the people there were not armed. They shot the victims from close range and killed them," said Hassan Muhidin, a farmer.

Egypt to keep Rafah border crossing open during Ramadan to ease burdens on brothers in Gaza: Sisi
Happy hunting to the Egyptian forces, I guess, and good luck.
[AlAhram] Egypt president Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has ordered on Thursday to keep the Rafah border crossing with the Gazoo Strip open during the whole month of Ramadan.

"I issued my directions to the concerned apparatuses to take the necessary measures to maintain the opening of the Rafah border crossing throughout the holy month of Ramadan in order to ensure the easing of the burdens on the brothers in the Gazoo Strip," El-Sisi said in a tweet on Thursday evening.

Last Saturday, Egypt had opened the border for traffic in both directions with the intention of keeping it open for four days.

However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
on Monday, the authorities decided to extend the opening to provide humanitarian aid to the Paleostinians after the killing of at dozens of civilians by the Israeli occupation army during protests in Gazoo against the transfer of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The Rafah border crossing is the main gateway to the outside world for 1.8 million Paleostinians living in the Israeli-besieged Gazoo Strip, and is the only crossing point not controlled by Israel.

There is a hidden inclination to divide Yemen: Ahmad al-Sayyad
[Al Jazeera] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are inclined towards a division of Yemen, the country's ambassador to the UN's cultural agency has told Al Jazeera.
So are many Yemenis...
In an interview on Wednesday, Ahmad al-Sayyad, ambassador and head of Yemen's permanent delegation to the Gay Paree-based UNESCO, said "there is synergy between the roles of Saudi Arabia and the UAE. There is a hidden inclination to divide Yemen".

Al-Sayyad's comments come after a crisis over the island of Socotra, southwest of Yemen.

The UAE deployed 300 soldiers, along with tanks and artillery, to the famed UNESCO World Heritage Site at the beginning of May.

Mexico lashes out at Trump for 'animal' comment
[PRESSTV] Mexico has blasted US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
for calling some illegal immigrants colonists "animals," pledging to file a complaint against the "unacceptable" choice of language.
*Snicker* Honestly, wouldn’t the cut direct be more appropriate, now that duelling has been given up as barbarous? Though to be fair, completely ignoring the existence of America and its current president might be a bit difficult for those living next door and depending on remittences sent home by the excess population sent north for the purpose..
Trump triggered a wave of criticism on Wednesday when he made the remark during a round-table discussion about Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,’s immigration laws on Wednesday.

"We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in, and we’re stopping a lot of them, but we’re taking people out of the country. You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals," Trump told local and state officials who supported his crackdown on immigration.
Wasn’t he talking about MS-13, the extra vicius narco-gangsters?
Mexico’s government took issue with the remark, with Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray announcing that he would be filing a formal complaint with the US State Department over the remarks.
“I have been instructed to thank you for your communication and to immediately file it in the official State Department Circular File directly under my desk. Sign here, please, senor.”
"President Trump referred to some immigrants colonists -- perhaps he had criminal gangs in mind, I don’t know
Ah. Then you are aware that he was talking about MS-13, and are just being pissy.
-- as animals, not as persons," Videgaray told local TV station Televisa on Thursday. "In the opinion of the Mexican government, this is absolutely unacceptable and we are going to formally communicate this to the US State Department today."

Trump remained unapologetic in light of the criticism, however, saying later on Thursday that his remarks had been taken out of context.

Europe
Bosnia rejects extradition request for alleged killer of Hamas engineer
[IsraelTimes] Court rules man wanted by Tunisia for suspected role in Mohammed Zouari's killing cannot be extradited as there is no treaty between the countries

A Bosnian court on Thursday rejected a request from Tunisia to extradite a man wanted for his alleged involvement in the killing of a Tunisian engineer who was claimed by the Paleostinian terror group Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, as a member.

The court ruled that Elvir Sarac, who the judge said is accused by Tunisia of "instigating terrorist acts and of membership of a terrorist organization, as well as of harming public order and international security," could not be sent to Tunisia as there is no extradition treaty between the countries, Rooters reported.

Sarac, a Tunisian citizen was jugged
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
last week on an Interpol warrant, is one of two Bosnian nationals wanted by Tunisia for their alleged role in killing of Mohammed Zouari.

The other suspect has been identified as Alen Camdzic, who was arrested in Croatia in March. A Croatian court approved his extradition earlier this month, though the ruling is subject to appeal to the country’s Supreme Court.

Zouari, a dual citizen of Tunisia and Belgium, was killed in a hail of bullets outside his house in Tunisia’s second city Sfax in December 2016.

Shortly after his death, Hamas said he was a drone expert who had worked for the "resistance" for a decade before being killed by "Zionist treachery."

Israel refuses to respond to the allegations.

Israel was also accused of being behind the liquidation last month in Malaysia of Fadi al-Batsh, a Hamas scientist who was said to be a rocket-making expert. Family and friends of Batsh accused Israel’s Mossad spy agency of carrying out the killing in Kuala Lumpur on April 21.

Turkey’s CHP presidential candidate warns to shut key US base unless Gulen extradited
[PRESSTV] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
’s presidential candidate of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), Muharrem Ince, has threatened to close a major American military base in the country by Christmas unless Washington extradites US-based opposition holy man Fethullah Gülen
... a Turkish preacher living in Pennsylvania whom the current govt of Turkey considers responsible for all the ills afflicting Turkey and possibly the entire world...
, whom Ankara blames for an abortive 2016 coup.

Ince sent out the warning to the White House about shutting down the base at Incirlik, a military airport located in southern Turkey, in an interview with Turkey’s Fox TV late on Wednesday, saying Washington must "extradite Fethullah Gulen from the United States."

"If you (the United States) don't hand him back, we will shut down Incirlik and send back US soldiers on December 24 and they can celebrate Christmas with their families," Ince added, a 54-year-old former physics teacher from the northwestern province of Yalova.

Shortly after the mid-July 2016 coup attempt against the government of Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
by a faction of the army, Ankara accused 76-year-old Gulen of being the criminal mastermind and orchestrator of the botched putsch, sending several official requests to Washington to hand over the elderly holy man, who has lived in self-imposed exile in the US since 1999.

Washington, however, has so far declined Ankara’s requests, saying it needs compelling evidence of Gulen’s alleged role in the failed coup to hand him over to the Anatolian country. In response, Ankara has on several occasions threatened that it would revisit its ties with the US if Washington failed to extradite Gulen.

Iraq
Denmark pulls back special forces from Iraq: ministry
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Denmark said Thursday it had pulled its special forces from Iraq after participating in the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
since 2014, saying it was changing the mission of troops.

"As the vast majority of ISIS-controlled areas in Iraq are now freed, changes will be made to military action," said the defense ministry on its website. "Our special operations forces return home after a successful effort. Your Iraqi partner unit is now ready to stand on your own".
Fair enough. Here’s hoping they won’t be needed for similar operations at home in the near future.
Praising the contribution of its forces to the coalition’s war against the krazed killer group in Iraq, the defense ministry said "now we have reached a point where we can start the resettlement of our special operations forces because ISIS no longer has control over major areas in Iraq".

It, however, pointed that "it is important to emphasize that the fight against ISIS has not yet ended", adding that "the Danish side will continue to be engaged in the fight against ISIS in order to prevent the terrorist group from returning and to help the Iraqi security forces themselves to take care of security in their own country".

The Danish forces provided air support and training for Iraqi forces at the border regions with Syria.

Late April, the international coalition said it ended the operations of its land component, shifting to training and consultancy role to Iraqi troops. Iraq said in December it seized back all territories occupied by IS since 2014.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Gas, fuel supply to Gaza resumed after Palestinians sabotaged crossing for third time
[Ynet] After repairs made to Kerem Shalom border crossing, which Paleostinian rioters set ablaze on 3 different occasions, supply of cooking gas and diesel fuel expected to resume on Monday; 12 tanks of diesel, 1 tank of gas transferred into strip on Thursday in trial run.
I do hope Hamas will be made to pay for the cost of repairs after operatives were seen directing the destroyers. After all, Israeli taxpayers and Israeli soldiers have already had to pay for preventing Hamas’s planned invasion over nearly two months, not to mention the cost of burnt crops and forests.
Israel partially renewed the supply of gas and fuel to the Gazoo Strip through the Kerem Shalom border crossing on Thursday after it was repeatedly set ablaze by Paleostinian rioters.

The Border Crossings Authority, in conjunction with the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories and the District Coordination and Liaison in the Gazoo Strip, resumed the transfer of cooking gas and diesel fuel into the strip.

Paleostinian rioters sabotaged the crossing, the only one for the transfer of goods from Israel to Gazoo, on three different occasions over the past two weeks.

In the latest incident on Monday evening, fuel pipelines and the quarry materials depot were damaged. Before that on Friday, a fuel complex and a conveyor belt were vandalized. On the Friday before that, rioters sabotaged gas and fuel pipelines. The damage from the first two attacks alone was estimated at over $9 million.
And the third? Since there’s been no mention of an estimate that I’ve noticed, one assumes it will be a similar ghastly amount.
Repair work for the pipelines has been completed, with the system expected to partially resume operations after the Shavuot holiday, which takes place on Sunday.

Twelve tanks of diesel fuel and one tank of gas were transferred into the strip on Thursday to test the repaired system. If no leaks are found, the supply of fuel and gas will continue on Monday.

Palestinian FM condemns ‘bloody racist massacre’ in Gaza
Foreign Minister should be in sarcasm quotes, as non-countries can only have pretend diplomats playing at diplomacy.
[ALMASDARNEWS] Paleostinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki condemned the violence occurring along the border between Israel and Gazoo, calling it "a bloody racist massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in cold blood against our defenceless people," while at a meeting of the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
in Cairo on Thursday.

Al-Maliki also called on Arab League members to "abide by the resolutions of the Arab summits, including the decisions taken at the Amman Summit in 1980, when it was called to freeze relations with each country that transfers its embassy to Jerusalem.

Despite our understanding of the developments of Arab relations with the United States and its complexity now, we are asking the Arab nations to call their ambassadors for consultations and to show the Arab rejection of the American bias towards Israel."

Secretary General of the vaporous Arab League Ahmed Abu al-Gheit likewise condemned the move of Guatemala, who also moved their embassy to Jerusalem.

"We condemn and refuse the actions of the Republic of Guatemala yesterday to transfer its embassy to Jerusalem and affirm that the Arab relations with it and with other countries that may submit a similar step should be reconsidered and reviewed." al-Gheit said.

New US sanctions hit at Hezbollah financiers, funding
[Ynet] Treasury Department imposes sanctions on Hezbollah's financier, Mohammad Ibrahim Bazzi, and its representative to Iran, Abdallah Safi al-Din; US 'will expose and disrupt Hezbollah and Iranian terror networks at every turn,' says Treasury Secretary Mnuchin.

The United States sought to further choke off funding sources for Iranian-backed Hezbollah on Thursday, sanctioning one of its financiers and its representative to Iran, as well as five entities based in Europe, West Africa and the Middle East.

It imposed sanctions on Hezbollah's financier, Mohammad Ibrahim Bazzi, and its representative to Iran, Abdallah Safi al-Din, the Treasury Department said in a statement.

The department said it had also blacklisted Belgian energy services conglomerate Global Trading Group; Gambia

"The savage and depraved acts of one of Hezbollah's most prominent financiers cannot be tolerated," US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement.

"This administration will expose and disrupt Hezbollah and Iranian terror networks at every turn, including those with ties to the Central Bank of Iran," he said.

The sanctions are among a slew of new and additional ones aimed at Iran and Hezbollah since US President Donald Trump

Putin, Assad declare Syria ready for political process
[PRESSTV] Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
has told his Syrian counterpart that the situation in Syria is now favorable for the beginning of a "political process."

In a rare meeting with the visiting Syrian head of state in Russia's southern city of Sochi on Thursday, Putin said recent victories against terrorist groups in Syria paved the ground for the withdrawal of foreign forces.

"After the military success (of the Syrian army in recent months), supplementary conditions have been created which favor the start of a political process on a major scale," Putin said in a statement after the meeting.

Assad welcomed the idea and said Damascus was resolved to pursue the political process in tandem with its military efforts.

"Stability is improving, and all that opens the doors to the political process, which we started a while ago," Assad told Putin, according to a transcript posted on the Kremlin's website.

"I have always said, and I repeat it again, that we have always wholeheartedly supported the political process, which should proceed in parallel with the war on terrorism," he added.

Trump truly ranks as one of the most unethical US presidents: Usual Suspect
[PRESSTV] US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
truly ranks as one of the most unethical presidents Americans have had in a long time, according to Myles Hoenig, an American political analyst and activist.

Hoenig, a former Green Party candidate for Congress, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Thursday while commenting on a statement by former US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson who warned that American democracy was threatened by a growing "crisis of ethics and integrity," an apparent swipe at his former boss, President Trump.

"If our leaders seek to conceal the truth or we as people become accepting of alternative realities that are no longer grounded in facts, then we as American citizens are on a pathway to relinquishing our freedom," Tillerson said on Wednesday in a graduation address at the Virginia Military Institute.

Tillerson did not mention Trump by name during his address to graduates at the military college in Lexington, Virginia.Tillerson, who was fired by Trump in March after little more than a year on the job, warned that a crisis involving truthfulness and integrity is threatening US democracy.

Turkey threatens Syrian gov’t about attacking Afrin
[ALMASDARNEWS] Any potential attack by the Syrian government forces on the country’s Idlib province may result in a "catastrophe," Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Thursday.

"Currently the most important issue is for the ceasefire not be violated in Syria. If this is achieved, political settlement will become closer. There are many fragmented terror groups. Our intelligence service and the General Staff are dealing with the matter. We have achieved certain results. If the Syrian regime launches an attack tomorrow under the pretext of fighting against terrorists, it will be a catastrophe. This is why we are monitoring the situation and have established our observation posts," Cavusoglu told the TRT TV channel.

The foreign minister also accused Damascus of delaying the establishment of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, which had been agreed upon during the Syrian National Dialogue Congress that took place in January in the Russian city of Sochi.

"We have submitted our list of candidates to the Committee members, but the [Syrian] regime has not yet provided one of its own. Our Astana [grinding of the peace processor] partners, [Russia and Iran], say that they cannot force, convince it. But it has to be forced! It turns out that the regime does not want any solution," the minister stated.

Cavusoglu has urged Russia and Iran to convince Damascus to accelerate the negotiation process on Syria in Geneva. He also noted that the Astana talks were more fruitful.

As part of the Astana talks last year, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
, Russia and Iran, which are the Syrian ceasefire guarantor states, agreed to establish four de-escalation zones in the country.

Syrian military hands strategic southern Aleppo town to Russia after Astana Conference
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has handed over the town of al-Hader in southern Aleppo to the Russian military, per the recent Astana Peace Conference agreement.

According to a military source in Aleppo, the Russian military police took over al-Hader in order alleviate tensions between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Ottoman Turkish military in the Aleppo Governorate.

The Syrian Army has officially withdrawn from al-Hader to the nearby mountaintop in Jabal Azzan.
From which, no doubt, they will be able to rain down artillery on the Turks below, as once a upon a time they used to do to the Jews from the Golan Heights.
This move by the Syrian Army and Russian military police comes just hours afterthe Ottoman Turkish Army established a new observation point in western Idlib.

Sources from the Syrian Army added that the Russian military police in the area are planning to take over several other front-lines points near the Ottoman Turkish military’s lines.
