Bill Maher: 'Islam Is The Problem'
[DAILYCALLER] Bill Maher went after Islam Friday night on his HBO show "Real Time."
Now he's going to have to check his car pretty careful before starting it.
With the Nigerian Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
kidnapping hundreds of teenage girls to sell into slavery, the Sultan of Brunei establishing the repressive Sharia law in his country and Islam critic Ayaan Hirsi Ali's honorary degree being rescinded by Brandeis University, Bill Maher pointed his finger at Islam as a major problem in the world today.
Allan sez slavery's fine. Just read the Koran and you're okay. Ask Qaradawi if you don't believe me. The sultan of Brunei does't think anybody's opinion count but Allan's, and he's the interpreter of Allan's will. And it's just terrible the way Ayan Hirsi Ali ran all those Moslems out of the Netherlands by trying to kill them.
"Islam is the problem, correct. All religions are the problem, but especially this one," the ardent atheist Maher told some of his liberal guests who were offended by his attacks on the faith.
The equivalence thing is pretty weak by now, Bill. The last auto-da-fe was three or four hundred years ago. The last head chopping was yesterday afternoon.
Earlier in the discussion of Islam, conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza argued that "there's a civil war in the mind of the liberal."
Actually, libs appear pretty focused to me. There's not a lot of actual dissent allowed within their ranks.
"On the one hand you're a defender of individual rights and minorities and if this were the Catholic Church, you'd be all on it," he explained.
Libs are big on some individual rights and some minorities. Most of them have to do with sexual orientation.
"But on the other hand you're committed to multiculturalism
Somebody came up with that stupid statement that "our strength lies in our diversity." It's a statement that's stupid on its face and they've made it a guiding light.
and Islam is a victim and we don't want to make the Mohammedans feel bad.
They're the ones who blow up cars and chops people's heads off and crucify people. Best to remain quiet, keep your head down, and they'll kill you last.
And so these two impulses have got to be brokered, one against the other. And that's why there is a protection of Islam. The problem isn't the Mohammedans. The problem is all the multiculturalists on campus who protect and defend them."

Britain Probes Photos of 'RAF Man with Dead Taliban Fighter'
[An Nahar] Britannia's military said on Friday it was investigating photographs that appear to show a serviceman in Afghanistan posing beside a dead Taliban fighter.

The pictures were allegedly taken in the aftermath of a 2012 attack by the Taliban on Camp Bastion, the main British base in Afghanistan.

The images first appeared on Live Leak, a website sometimes used by servicemen to post photographs of incidents during tours of duty.

Egypt's Sisi turns Islam on the Islamists
[Egypt Independent] As the Egyptian state presses its crackdown on the Moslem Brüderbund, the man expected to become president has deployed a new weapon in the battle with the Islamists: his own vision of Islam.

Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the former army chief who deposed the Brotherhood's Mohammed Morsy and is expected to be elected president later this month, has cast himself as a defender of religion and taken aim at the doctrinal foundations of Islamist groups the state is seeking to crush.

Striking a pious tone that sets him apart from former president Hosni Mubarak

Amnesty International: Nigeria Had 4-Hour Warning on School Raid.
Nigerian Army commanders said there wasn't enough time to mobilize and react. Evidently a telephonic warning, and instructions to flee was out of the question.
I recall it took the mighty Pak army 16 hours to come to the rescue in Blackhawk Down. Four hours for the Nigerian army clearly wasn't enough...

#3  Those Paks were 'palace guards'. That is personnel who were politically rewarded with relatively big time pay on UN duty. Heck, they were there for the sun, fun, and money, not get killed. They had gotten their butts handed to them several weeks before the Americans showed up and were more than gun shy.

The Nigerian military is just another third world corrupt untrained, undisciplined gang who's local leader knows that if he loses troops his means of corruption gets significantly reduced and who's men reluctantly follow unless its easy pickings. Their tactical SOP is to avoid intense situations and possible defeat. The cancer of corruption metastasizes through the community bringing additional burdens and sorrow for everyone.

[VOA] In a little more than two months, China has seen three violent attacks at major train stations. Authorities say krazed killer Uighur turbans carried out at least two of the attacks, in a widening security threat that has heightened concerns among the public. The violence comes amid government pledges to get tougher on terrorism.

Home Front: WoT
Al Qaeda calling for car bomb attacks on American soil
The report begins in the streets of Baghdad. As two army soldiers drive through Baghdad in a convoy headed for the green zone, a car bomb explosion is caught on tape. Fearing another car bomb could go off soon, which so often happens, the soldiers make a run for the safety of the green zone - when they're out of harm's way, they say:

"Well, that's better than a cup of coffee in the morning..."

It is a truly chilling event in an urban setting where there are so many people. But if Al Qaeda has its way, the same scenario will play out in American urban areas. In a recent issue of Inspire Magazine, regarded as the Vanity Fair of Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda calls for Jihad car bomb attacks on certain American cities - including Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., New York and northern Virginia where the CIA is headquartered. Ron Bee is a former State Department and Pentagon employee and was asked what would happen if a car bomb were to go off at a major American shopping mall, and what would be the impact on the American economy?

"People would stay home, they wouldn't go to the malls. They'd go home to wait to hear that (all was OK)... we all know what happened after 9/11: everybody stayed home. They didn't go shopping. They didn't fly. The airlines went under, so it could have a major impact."

The article makes reference to Fiesal Shahzads,
...known to us here as Faisal the Fizzlebomber...
the Times Square bomber whose bomb was discovered and subsequently diffused. Al Qaeda says:

"Many Fiesal Shahzads are residing inside America and all they need is the knowledge of how to make car bombs... and the good news is it can be prepared in a home kitchen."

"That's true. A lot of things are on the internet and the folks in Boston learn how to make their bombs off the internet and in magazines like Inspire, which is the same magazine that's advertising home-grown terrorism here in the United States. So, it's possibly to do, but at the same time, we have a very diligent Home Land Security squad FBI that's keeping track."

Al Qaeda makes requests: "the important thing is that you target people and not buildings."

"That's what terrorists do: terrorists have a political cause and they kill innocent people. That's Al Qaeda. So of course that's what they're going to say, and it also gets our attention when it's a bombing that kills innocent people because they usually have nothing to do with any political cause."

Al Qaeda continues: "the American government was unable to protect it's citizens from pressure cooker bombs in backpacks. I wonder if they are able to stop car bombs."

"We've always worried about this sort of attack, ever since coming to the United States, and now Al Qaeda is saying that home-grown terrorists should conduct those sorts of attacks. This is, I think, the response in the up-tick in attacks against Al Qaeda in places like Yemen, with drones in a variety of places around the world including Africa. We're soon going to see some activity in Nigeria; the idea here is they're trying to hit back at us in retaliation."

But there are some who say Al Qaeda's call for car bomb attacks in American cities is a sign of desperation - that the terrorist organization is on the ropes.

"You can read this a couple of ways," said John Miller of NYPD Intelligence. "One way you can read Inspire Magazine is it is some kind of sign of failure, Al Qaeda central has diminished to the point that it has to put out this wide net and say 'can anybody do anything? Because as an organization, we're not effective that way.'"

The thought of car bomb attacks that happen in Iraq happening in America is truly disturbing. The hope is that those bombers will think twice before taking on America.

White House Escalates Secret Media War Against Israel
[FreeBeacon] B.O. regime continues to bash Israel over grinding of the peace processor

Senior B.O. regime officials have escalated a secret media war to discredit Israel in the press, providing highly critical anonymous quotes and negative information about the Jewish state in a bid to blame it for the recent collapse of peace talks with the Paleostinians.

Multiple sources in both the United States and Israel confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that Middle East envoy Martin Indyk again served as the anonymous source for a recent interview in the Israeli press that lambasted Israel, blamed it for the failure of peace talks, and predicted that Israel needs to face another wave of Paleostinian terrorism before it will make peace.

Destroy N Waziristan terror sanctuaries, Burns tells COAS
[DAWN] US Deputy Secretary of State William J. Burns during his visit to Pakistain held meetings with Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, special assistant to the prime minister Tariq Fatemi and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.

Sources close to the meetings said that Burns conveyed the message of the United States to top Pak civil and military officials during the meetings, asking for the destruction of terrorist sanctuaries located in North Wazoo. On behalf of the US, he requested that this operation should be completed before the installation of the new political administration in Kabul.

During the meetings, the two sides discussed Pakistain-US bilateral relations and regional issues, including Afghanistan, said a Foreign Office spokesperson.

Pakistain's Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry and US Ambassador to Pakistain Richard Olson also attended the meeting between US deputy secretary of state and special assistant to the prime minister, Tariq Fatemi during which the importance Pakistain attaches to stronger Pakistain-U.S. cooperation in diverse fields was underscored.

Borders, Security 'Essential' to Any Mideast Peace Deal, Says Kerry
[An Nahar] U.S. Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
believes drawing up the borders of a future Paleostinian state and agreeing to security arrangements for Israel will be "essential" if peace talks resume, the top U.S. negotiator has said.

In his most candid public comments since the nine-month negotiations collapsed last month, Martin Indyk
...the man who hates Bibi Netanyahu more than even President Obama...
described the behind-the-scenes atmosphere between Israelis and Paleostinians and voiced hopes the talks would resume soon.

Speaking late Thursday at the Washington Institute think tank, Indyk said although the two sides both showed "flexibility" it was clear they "do not feel the pressing need to make the gut-wrenching compromises necessary to achieve peace."

In the end despite nine months of "serious and intensive negotiations," Indyk said it was "easier for the Paleostinians to sign conventions and appeal to international bodies in their supposed pursuit of 'justice.'"

"It is easier for Israeli politicians to avoid tension in the governing coalition and for the Israeli people to maintain the current comfortable status quo," said Indyk, a former U.S. ambassador to Israel.

"It is safe to say that if we the U.S. are the only party that has a sense of urgency, these negotiations will not succeed."

Should the peace talks resume however, Kerry believes both sides must work on the future contours of a Paleostinian state and security arrangements for Israel alongside the other core issues such as refugees and Jerusalem.
Ynet adds:
Israel slams Indyk accusations on peace talks

Official: 'Indyk is the last person who can preach to us about the peace process'; 'Process was meant to be primarily bilateral'.

A senior Israeli official familiar with the talks accused Indyk of hypocrisy, saying he had known construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem would continue during the discussions.

"Indyk comes and blames others without speaking about his own responsibility for the current impasse," the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Reuters.

"Martin Indyk is the last person who can preach to us or teach us anything about the peace process," said the official. "He's been prowling around here for years and fails at every one of his attempts and simply refuses to recognize that the problem is not with us."

Syria jihadists turn on each other
[MAGHAREBIA] The flames of the "jihadi civil war in Syria" are threatening to engulf not only the Levant but the Maghreb as well, through extensions of terror networks fighting there. And Maghreb fighters top the list of those caught up in the Death Eater battles.

Mohammed Ikbel Ben Rejeb, chairman of the "Tunisian Association for Saving Tunisians Stranded Abroad", confirmed on May 5th that more of his countryman died in Syria than any other group of foreigners.

Ben Rejeb, who was speaking at a seminar hosted by the coastal city of Sousse, cited a study from IHS Jane's that found 1,902 Tunisians had been killed in Syria. Libya was second, with 1,807 killed, followed by Iraq (1,432 dead).

U.N. Says Syria Medical Convoy Seizures an 'Abomination'
[An Nahar] A senior U.N. aid official accused the Syrian government on Friday of blockading medical supplies from convoys bound for opposition-held areas and called for a fresh international push to end the conflict.

"Medical supplies are being removed from convoys as part of a strategy to deny the maimed medical care. This is an abomination," John Ging, the U.N. director of Syria aid operations, told news hounds in Geneva.

"It's the government of Syria who are either not authorizing the free movement of all the medical supplies that need to move, or whose officials are removing from the convoys the medical supplies that they feel could be used to treat the war maimed. This is wholly and totally unacceptable," he said.

Ging did not single out particular incidents and, while lambasting the government over medical supplies, underlined that hampering aid was a tactic by all involved in the Syrian civil war.

He said it was up to countries with influence over the rival sides to help break the deadlock.

"The government has first responsibility. They claim illusory sovereignty, we deal with them on that basis, that they are in the first instance responsible for ensuring that humanitarian action is facilitated throughout the country," he said.

"We also know, at an operational level, that we need the cooperation of many others, gangs and different organizations," he added.
