[Shooting News] One of the most insidious ways that the virulently anti-gun Biden administration weaponized the nation’s firearms regulatory agency was to institute a “zero tolerance” policy for the nation’s gun retailers. In practice, that meant when a gun store was visited by the ATF’s industry operations inspectors to periodically audit their systems and paperwork, they were given no leeway at all for routine errors such as typos and other inadvertent errors on 4473 paperwork and the like.
The goal, of course, was to find as many FFLs as possible in violation of ATF’s regulations and shut them down. Biden’s ATF yanked the tickets of literally hundreds of FFLs over the years. You can read a few of our posts on the topic here, here, and here.
But once again, as someone once said, elections have consequences. Today, FBI Director Kash Patel, who’s also the acting ATF Director, announced that the Trump administration has put an end to the firearm regulator’s ritual abuse of law-abiding gun dealers. As you’d expect, the NSSF is pleased . . .

[FederalNewsNetwork] It seems the "Acting" IRS commissioner, Melanie Krause, as well as several other Sr. IRS Staff are resigning over the sharing of information with ICE.
It seems enforcing US Laws regarding persons who are using fraudulently obtained Social Security #'s upset them.

A good reporter would ask if providing IRS information on bank robbers, fraudsters or other non-immigration crimes spark the same response of resigning. And follow up with ‘How about providing IRS information on conservative politicians…’
This guy didn’t resign when IRS employees leaked the sensitive tax information of 405,000 citizens to ProPublica, but draws the line at a legitimate law enforcement request for information on non-citizens. https://t.co/AFTyzkIqlo

They had no problem stifling the Tea Party.
In the popular view, Trump is the cause of all the 'readjustments' taking place. But he is just a symptom, the loud, orange manifestation of something that has been building for a while now.
What's that sound? Like tiny wing beats in the distance... it's the chickens coming home to roost!
My Question:
Given, there were over +/- 1 Million KNOWN Fraudulently obtained SS#'s.
Will there be criminal indictments of certain SSA DC Sr. Staff and the users?
Because there is no way in hell that many suddenly acquired SSA #'s and 1,000's of 120++ year olds were drawing SSA payments, and it was not known, or was not flagged unless there was political agenda (votes), or Pocket $$$$$ reasons.
With that said, there must EXTREME Care in not exposing those that have been given NEW ID's and placed into Witness Relocation.

"WASHINGTON, DC- For anyone other than the most partisan Democrat, the conduct of DC District Court Judge James Boasberg has appeared to be an attempt to undermine President Trump’s agenda, none more than his blocking of the administration’s attempts to deport violent gang members who have been declared foreign terrorists.
Now, investigative journalist Julie Kelly has uncovered bombshell evidence in a transcript from an April 3 hearing in Boasberg’s courtroom that appears to show what a corrupt political hack Boasberg truly is, The Gateway Pundit reports. "

All of this reminds me of a piece I put in several years ago, where a Guatemalan official was complaining that the court system is so packed with leftist judges that the leadership of Guatemala was unable to accomplish anything.
[NYPOST] Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith declared that he is considering running for office in the next few years if he believes he can win.
Smith has risen to fame as a bombastic commentator in the realms of sports and politics.
Previously, he denied he would ever run for president, saying recent chatter about doing so only took off due to Democrats ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... ' desperation for a leader.
However,
a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... the ESPN host spoke at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention in Las Vegas on Monday, where he stated that recent events have changed his mind.
He posted a link to a story on his comments on X and said, ''Time to stop messing around. Life is great. Especially at ESPN/Disney.
Seriously??
Hate the thought of being a politician. But sick of this mess. So I'm officially leaving all doors open.''
''Over the last few weeks, I've had no choice but to get more serious about it,'' he said at the NAB event. ''I've been approached by people on Capitol Hill. I've been approached by people who are elected officials in office, whether it's governors or mayors or what have you. People have legitimately, seriously, asked me about it.''

I appreciate you putting your money where your mouth is.
But at the same time you don't know shit about global politics and would be destroyed in the first debate.

Stick to commentary. It is what you are best at.
Ouch.
The other thing they are trying to manufacture is Bill Burr as their version of Joe Rogan, which is funny because Joe Rogan was their version of Joe Rogan until they went so bugzo he was left behind. So you can imagine what a pile of shit Burr will need to be sculpted into in order to accommodate The Shift and to overshadow his previous work.
[NYPOST] A high-ranking city official in Oakland, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, has been fired over a resurfaced note that showed her referring to black people as ''tokens,'' according to reports.
Chief of staff Leigh Hanson was fired Sunday over the alleged note, which was released last week alongside other documents related to an FBI probe that prompted the indictment of the city's previous mayor, Sheng Thao, the the Socialist paradise of San Francisco ...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964... Chronicle reported.
One line read, ''CM Fife can reach out to NAACP — use BP as tokens.''
Hanson confirmed ''BP'' was an abbreviation for black people, while ''CM Fife'' referred to Oakland Council Member Carroll Fife.
Hanson previously defended the note, claiming it had been taken out of context.
According to Hanson, the note was written during an anti-recall planning meeting where Thao and others discussed their perceptions of the recall effort's plans to recruit black people to their cause — and that she had written down comments made by Thao.
Interim Oakland Mayor Kevin Jenkins on Monday, a day after firing Hanson, said that most of Thao's staff would be put on paid administrative leave before being released on April 11 ahead of a special election to permanently fill the role.

They could be model institutions of higher learning, and yet nobody who makes more than the median income should be sending a single dollar of their earned pay to fund these institutions. "Antisemitism" isn't the issue--basic fairness is.

There's no edit function--obviously I mean "...nobody who earns LESS than the median income should be sending a single dollar of their earned pay to these institutions."
Will there be as much savings to the budget from reducing grants to universities as it is from ending 80% of USAID spending?
[NYPOST] The Trump administration is freezing more than $1 billion in federal funds to Cornell and $790 million in funding for Northwestern University in response to civil rights investigations at both schools.
''The money was frozen in connection with several ongoing, credible, and concerning Title VI investigations,'' a Trump admin official told Fox News.
The pause largely involves grants and contracts to both schools with the departments of Agriculture, Defense, Education and Health and Human Services, two administration officials told the New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... A spokesperson for Northwestern told The Post they haven't received any notice from the federal government regarding a funding freeze — stating they were informed of President Trump's supposed decision by members of the media.
''Federal funds that Northwestern receives drives innovative and life-saving research, like the recent development by Northwestern researchers of the world's smallest pacemaker, and research fueling the fight against Alzheimer's disease,'' the rep for Illinois institution said.
''This type of research is now at jeopardy. The University has fully cooperated with investigations by both the Department of Education and Congress.''
Both Cornell and Northwestern were both included on a list of 60 colleges and universities that the Department of Education's civil rights arm warned earlier this month could have federal funding taken away over alleged antisemitic discrimination and harassment on campus.
The institutions and shamed included six of the eight Ivy League institutions — Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, Princeton and Yale — and local schools Rutgers, Rutgers-Newark, Sarah Lawrence, three branches of the State University of New York, The New School and Wellesley.

MODS: I've been having trouble when I 'Post a News Article', I can enter everything but I can't type in anything - I can just hit Submit. This one's a USA TODAY article mentioning Colorado regarding places where visa students have been cancelled. Why, 16 in Colorado Universities alone have been cancelled!
The sources are USA TODAY and the top two items on the front page of the Denver Post website, which no one particularly looks at anymore (except sports - notice on the front page it's ALL sports until you get to the real news items. Headlines & Links follow.
DPOST1: "Colorado officials ready legal defense fund against Trump cuts and potential investigations"
DPOST2: "Number of Colorado student visas revoked by Trump administration more than doubles"
I know I know, I do so much for the benefit of Rantburg and this required a difficult financial burden, which paled against the common barrage of DEI website programming staff with nose and lips pierced and horribly mangled with lots of tacky baubles, where zee pass off their product to an equally DEI testing staff, and I went ahead and purchased a 1 year subscription for $1, probably about right, but that requires you to provide proof that your liquid with a credit card and all sorts of bugs in entering your credit card into the system. It takes alot of tries.

Do you have content blockers set to stop pop-up ads and things, Fairbanks dear? I find I have problems with X and a number of news sites when that’s working, so I have to go to the URL bar, click on the drop-down icon at the left end of it, and click on Turn Off Content Blockers. If it’s not that, I have no idea. But with all the serious computer mavens who hang out here, I’m sure someone will have a useful answer for you.
Thank you for finding the article and trying — we’ll climb this learning curve together.

Thanks TW. I don't know anything about content blockers, but I'll be on the phone tomorrow with one of my best friends, the Lebanese Christian who does all of the hardware and systems work in my place and is the proprietor of a computer repair/towers/laptops, etc. store in Littleton. He's probably 55 and his eyes don't appear to be in the least bit crazy. I would guess that he's been in this country for about 20 years and when I met him about 12 years ago his English was awful but it has much approved. I type this using one of those curved 32" LG monitors at a distance of 2' and the VISIO sound bar is mounted 5' behind me. Of course move back a bit for the Ingraham Angle and the whole thing explodes when you turn off the lights and move the Bushmills and soda out on the balcony where I occasionally have over 100 a smoke with the Bose headphones for movies.

Smiling this morning ... When I was at Northwestern, the university generally thought itself too prominent, too well connected and essentially "above the law." I feel for my friends and colleagues caught in the vise this morning. And yet ... the word "smug" comes to mind

We have a marxist activist problem in the United States. It's organized. They are learning this activism somewhere, we all hate it, and we know where they learn it. We need to stop being on defense.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
