[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Washington man arrested on nearly a dozen drug and weapons charges was previously granted clemency by former Democratic Governor Jay Inslee in 2019, it has emerged.
Percy Levy, 54, was arrested Thursday during a traffic stop in Everett following a 16-month investigation by the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force, as reported by the Lynwood Times.
Detectives later searched Levy's home where they made a shocking discovery - a massive drug haul including 556 grams of fentanyl - enough to kill approximately 278,000 people, according to the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
Despite his lengthy criminal history, former Governor Inslee granted Levy clemency in 2019, allowing him to walk free, as revealed by Fox News.
Detectives also found 2,818 grams of powder cocaine, 14.7 grams of rock cocaine, as well as a handgun when they searched his home. The bust also uncovered packaging material, and a digital scale signifying intent to distribute. Levy faced 11 Class B Felony charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Levy, who is on the Board of the Black Lives Matter chapter, was held on a $1.5 million bond.
According to the outlet, Levy's criminal past dates back to when he was just 13 years old.
In 2002, he was arrested for a drug house robbery and subsequently spent 17 years behind bars.
In the six years following his release, Levy appeared to turn his life around, working as a community outreach specialist for the Washington Defender Association and founding Redemption Auto, a car dealership in Everett.
He also served as treasurer on the Board of the Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County chapter and reportedly dedicated himself to criminal justice reform.
In February, Inslee signed a law allowing Seattle to replace an exodus of police officers with illegal migrants.
Washington's largest city had just 913 cops to serve its 750,000 people after losing 725 officers in the last five years.
As a result, Its police department tweaked the rules to allow applications from migrants who crossed the border illegally as children and are registered on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), or 'Dreamers', program. Inslee made it so they can be chosen above an equally qualified candidate if they speak more than one language.
In 2020, the Washington Governor dropped out of the presidential race. The then-68-year-old made fighting climate change the central theme of his short-lived presidential campaign.
'It's become clear I'm not going to carrying the ball. I'm not going to be President so I'm withdrawing from the race,' he said.
'I've been fighting climate change for 25 years and I've never been so confident of the ability of America ... to move the ball.
[Breitbart] A transgender man from Mission Viejo, California, “who apparently cross-dresses on social media,” and was out on bond for attempted murder is now accused of kidnapping and assaulting an 89-year-old woman in Summerville, South Carolina.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Enver Marius Zueros, allegedly targeted the woman when she stopped giving him money, Fox News reported on Friday.
Video footage appears to show Zueros wearing a short dress and high heels while dancing in what is apparently intended to be a provocative way:
Police said he became angry when the woman started giving money to charities instead of to him. Count On 2 News reported Thursday that police apprehended the man on Monday in North Augusta when he was charging his electric vehicle.
“Zueros allegedly told investigators that he planned the attack and drove from California to an Airbnb in the area,” the article read.
The suspect reportedly was an acquaintance of the victim through her deceased brother. “According to the victim’s caretaker, Zueros and the victim’s brother were married,” the Count On 2 News article said, noting that after the woman’s brother died the suspect began contacting her.
Video footage shows police officers investigating the case prior to finding the suspect:
After Zueros gained access to the woman’s residence, a neighbor who is a retired law enforcement officer became suspicious and also went to her door. However, Zueros gave a fake name and claimed the woman was in the hospital due to an injury from a fall.
“The neighbor, still suspicious, went to his home to grab a gun, police said. Zueros fled the woman’s home in her vehicle. Authorities later found the vehicle with the woman restrained underneath the rear folding seats in her car floorboard, police said,” the Fox article stated.
When the woman was found inside the abandoned vehicle on Sunday, her wrists had been duct taped, a dog leash was around her ankles, and a trash bag had been put over her head, police said.
Following her rescue, Summerville Police Chief Doug Wright said, “She is doing well. I spoke to her as soon as we got her out of the car and onto a gurney. I cannot thank enough the EMS from Charleston County that were able to help her and bring calm to the situation. The first thing she asked me was, ‘Are my dogs okay?'”
Speaking of the suspect, he said, “This man will not see the light of day. He will spend the rest of his natural life in prison.”
Authorities charged Zueros with first-degree burglary, kidnapping, and attempted murder in the case.

By the third day of the deadly storm system, FOX Weather has confirmed 35 deaths caused by severe weather, tornadoes and crashes caused by dust storms.
… in handcuffs that had been pulled in. I was like, what's going on? He goes, we've come across now that if you cannot read or write in English, that it's a $5,000 fine.
And if you have a company in Arkansas that employs people that can't read or write in English, it's a $10,000 fine paid on the spot.
If you cannot pay it, you're automatically arrested and lose your license”

Not just the signage is in english, the safety, hazmat, and emergency stuff is all in english.
As to european drivers having to deal with 120 languages, that would seem to be an issue for europeans to deal with. None of my business.

Many years ago Mr. Wife was rear-ended during a bad snowstorm in Cincinnati — where the natives have absolutely no idea how to drive when there is snow on the road — by a delivery truck driver who could not read. He was perfectly able to speak English, his family having been citizens since the 14th Amendment, but was completely illiterate thanks to the Cincinnati Public School system. He must have cheated somehow to get his license to drive.

Saw a deal the other week concerning the pile-ups on I-80 during winter weather. Driver asked Highway Patrolman what was up, and HiPo quipped something like, "The truck operators are going off the road and sliding into vehicles...may have probably never really drove in winter conditions until recently.", the implication being a lot of CDLs have gone to people from more equatorial climates and lack Winter driving experience and have lower CDL expectations.
IIUC, one of the most important pieces of equipment for a trucker is the CB Radio to communicate current driving conditions and accidents. Without a working knowledge of English, CB alerts such as dust/brown out conditions aren't understood which adds a truck into a pileup. "Hey everyone, Pork Chop Express here, road's getting lousy suggest right lane convoy at 60 mph, I'll bird dog the lead and give read outs." "Roger" "10-4 good buddy" "Que?!"
First article, from Saturday... from the Daily Mail
A Labour minister was last night at the centre of an explosive row over claims he rubbished high-level intelligence pointing to Covid's origins in a Chinese laboratory.
The Mail on Sunday can reveal that a former spy chief submitted a secret dossier to No 10 early in the pandemic reporting that the virus had originated with a leak from a Wuhan facility.
A classified dossier compiled by Sir Richard Dearlove, the former head of MI6, was passed to then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the start of the outbreak in March 2020 which stated: 'It is now beyond reasonable doubt that Covid-19 was engineered in the Wuhan Institute of Virology'.
The file, marked 'Secret — Recipient's Eyes Only' argued that Beijing was pushing a fake narrative that the virus had originated in an animal market. The dossier, compiled by a group of eminent academics and intelligence experts and seen by The Mail on Sunday, said China even retrospectively manipulated viral samples to give credence to the deception.
But the argument is said to have been dismissed by Patrick Vallance, who was a familiar face during the pandemic as he flanked Mr Johnson at No 10 news conferences.
In today's MoS, Sir Richard writes of his dossier: 'Boris himself was persuaded by its argument. But the weight of the Government's scientific establishment, already signed up to the Chinese narrative, prevailed.'
Last night, a source close to Mr Johnson pointed the finger at Lord Vallance for rubbishing the lab-leak theory in order to appease the Chinese government. The source said: 'Boris repeatedly asked the [intelligence] agencies to do more work on the origins of Covid. It struck him as simply too much of a coincidence that a mutant Covid virus appeared in a city that just happened to possess one of the only labs in the world that engineered mutant Covid viruses.
'He was very struck by the refusal of the scientists, especially Patrick Vallance, even to contemplate this possibility. He asked again after getting the Dearlove briefing and again the agencies came back with the same answer and specifically rubbished Dearlove. Looking back, he now wonders why the scientists and the agencies were so emphatic.'
The source said the former Prime Minister is concerned that the public were deliberately misled by the scientific and intelligence community to protect research funding from Beijing and to avoid angering the Chinese regime. Wait... their intelligence community gets funding from Beijing?
Lord Vallance is facing increasing scrutiny over his role in suppressing the lab leak theory. He took part in a multinational teleconference in February 2020, after which it is alleged scientists began dismissing the Chinese lab-leak hypothesis as implausible.
Last week, former minister Steve Baker said Lord Vallance 'should be fully transparent about what he knew and why he chose to be among those who avoided inconvenient questions'.
The source said: 'Boris thinks it is possible that the scientists disliked the lab leak theory because they are wary about public hostility to science. They didn't want stories about Frankenstein viruses that would mean a threat to research funding. He also thinks they were nervous of causing offence to their international partners.
'Clearly the lab-leak theory was deeply embarrassing and painful to China. It meant that the incompetence of someone in Wuhan had caused millions of deaths and $16 trillion of damage worldwide.
'But they really didn't want to say this. Beijing is ruthless in punishing anyone who says anything hostile or disrespectful to China. The scientists were clearly nervous about triggering cuts to the huge Chinese investments in academic research of all kinds.'
The Mail on Sunday last week revealed that a senior virologist had claimed British and American intelligence agencies orchestrated a clandestine campaign to shut down concerns of a lab leak. The rest is at the link, I kinda have html fatigue right now, and one more post to go...

[Intel Committee] The Committee on the Judiciary, its Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence have revealed how, in
the final weeks before the 2020 presidential election, 51 former intelligence officials coordinated with the Biden campaign to discredit serious allegations about Biden family influence peddling.
In issuing a public statement using their official titles, these former intelligence officials sought to cast an explosive New York Post story and Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop as "Russian disinformation." President Biden even cited to the statement in a televised debate with President Trump shortly before the election to accuse President Trump of leveling false accusations. As a result, the explosive allegations about Biden family misconduct were buried and millions of Americans cast their votes for president without a full set of facts. The 51 former intelligence officials’ Hunter Biden statement was a blatant political operation from the start. It originated with a call from top Biden campaign official—and now
Secretary of State—Antony Blinken to former Deputy Central
Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Michael Morell. The Committees’ investigation revealed that without this outreach from Blinken, Morell would not have written the statement.4 Indeed, Morell told the Committees that the Blinken phone call "triggered" his intent to write the statement.5 The statement’s drafters were open about the goal of the project: "[W]e think Trump will attack Biden on the issue at this week’s debate"6 and "we want to give the [Vice President] a talking point to use in response."
The details as revealed by the Committees to date are concerning enough, but as the Committees have continued to investigate the origins of the Hunter Biden statement, new information has come to light. Through newly obtained internal CIA emails and testimonial evidence, the Committees have uncovered more information on the extent to which the intelligence community was involved in the statement. Specifically, the evidence shows:
