Horror Christmas (Family) fight at Phoenix airport ends with 3 people shot and another stabbed
[NY Post] What a joyful and blessed holiday family
Three people were shot and another stabbed in a wild family fight at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Christmas Day, according to police.

The violence erupted at a pre-security restaurant in Terminal Four around 9:45 p.m. when someone pulled out a gun during a fight and opened fire, according to ABC 15.

Three people were found with gunshot injuries, including a woman left fighting for her life.

Cops then detained a man with at least one stab wound and an uninjured girl in the airport parking garage, CNN reported.

"I believe this was a family dispute that escalated," Sgt. Mayra Reeson told reporters early Thursday.

Four people were rushed to the hospital, including the shot woman in critical condition.

Two men who were also shot and the man who was stabbed are all stable, cops said.

None of those involved have been identified.

The shooting forced the terminal’s security checkpoint and restaurants to shut down temporarily, airport officials and police told CNN.

No flights were affected and the investigation is ongoing.

NYC stabbing: Man arrested in connection to unprovoked attack at Grand Central on Christmas Eve
[FoxNews] A woman was slashed in the neck while a man was slashed in the wrist, NYPD said

A suspect was arrested after a random stabbing spree inside the Grand Central subway station in New York City on Christmas Eve left two victims wounded, police said.

A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed to Fox News Digital that 28-year-old Jason Sargeant, of Brooklyn, was arrested for the assault on two random people.

On Tuesday, just before 10:15 p.m., police responded to a 911 call about an assault at the 42 Street-Grand Central subway station.

Police said a 26-year-old woman was slashed in the neck and a 42-year-old man was slashed in the left wrist.

Police said the man was the first victim and was attacked on the stairs leading to the southbound entrance of the station. Sargeant allegedly slashed the man across his left wrist following an argument.

Moments later, police said Sargeant reportedly confronted the female victim and slashed her on the neck near a turnstile during a second altercation.

EMS responded and transported both victims to local hospitals.

Police said both victims remain in stable condition.

Police also recovered a knife at the scene.

Sargeant was charged with two counts of first degree assault, two counts of first degree reckless endangerment, and several second degree counts for menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, harassment, and disorderly conduct.

This attack comes just days after a woman was lit on fire and burned alive on a New York City subway train. Sebastin Zapeta, 33, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, was charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as first-degree arson.

New York City taxi cab plows into group of pedestrians on Christmas Day, leaves at least 6 injured
[FoxNews] A taxi cab plowed into a group of pedestrians in busy New York City, leaving at least six injured at an iconic tourist hot spot on Christmas Day.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) confirmed to Fox News Digital that a taxi cab struck a group of pedestrians at Herald Square at 6th Avenue and West 34th Street just after 4 p.m. ET.

The taxi cab driver was identified as a 58-year-old man, police said. They did not share what led to the crash.

The six patients in various conditions were taken to local hospitals for treatment, police said.

No one was arrested following the accident, and the cause of the incident is still under investigation, police said.

115 arrested in a retail theft sting in CA. Repeat offenders are finally facing jail time thanks to Prop. 36
[X] As a wild guess, 80% of the crimes are being committed by 20% of the miscreants, so actually arresting them will quickly reduce the problem to a more manageable level. And the crime tourists flying up from south of the border will quickly move on to less hardened targets. Glory hallelujah.

Elon Musk urges supporters not to donate to Wikipedia after it spent $50M on DEI: ‘Wokepedia'
[NY Post] Elon Musk urged his supporters not to donate to the nonprofit that runs Wikipedia after the organization budgeted more than $50 million to spend on controversial diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

"Stop donating to Wokepedia until they restore balance to their editing authority," Musk wrote Tuesday on X, where he has nearly 210 million followers.

The Tesla mogul, and key adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, was responding to a post by the right-leaning commentator "Libs of TikTok," who shared a pie chart that showed 29% of Wikipedia’s $177 million budget for 2023-24 was targeted for "equity" and "safety & inclusion."

#1  agree with Musk

Wikipedia leans to the left and toward some bad actors. On the vast majority of subjects there is no problem. On some, there is a problem.

example, the Wikipedia article on Antioch has absolutely nothing about the annexation of Antioch by Turkey in July 1939

Africa Subsaharan
DRC: Kinshasa's Archbishop delivers politically loaded Christmas message
[AFRICANEWS] The Archbishop of Kinshasa's Christmas message is likely to cause further tension between the Catholic church and the state in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
Preaching during Christmas eve mass, Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo accused the authorities of failing to bring about peace, and to end the misery of the population.

Ambongo said that the country was living through 'hellish conditions', citing war in the east and widespread poverty.

It is not the first time Ambongo is issuing a stinging criticism of President Felix Tshisekedi's government.

Earlier this year, prosecutors opened a judicial inquiry against him for what they called ''seditious comments''.

Ambongo was accused of ''incitement'' after speaking out against insecurity in the east of the country, where the army is fighting the M23 rebels, during his Easter Mass.

The Catholic Church in the DRC has been a vocal critic of corruption, human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
abuses, and bad governance for decades.

China-Japan-Koreas
Brazil Halts BYD Site After Chinese Workers Found in 'Slavery-Like Conditions'
[Breitbart] Brazil’s Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPT) announced on Monday that officials shut down construction of Chinese electric carmaker BYD’s factory in the city of Camaçari, Bahia state, after 163 Chinese nationals found working in “conditions analogous to slavery” were rescued from the site.

Through an official statement, the MPT explained that the decision to shut down the factory’s construction work comes after an ongoing investigation that began in mid-November found that the workers were subjected to work in “precarious” and “degrading” conditions, stay in lodgings lacking basic hygiene measures, and were fed under highly unsanitary conditions. The rescued Chinese nationals were hired to work on the BYD plant in Brazil through a contractor identified as Jinjiang Group.

BYD – China’s premier automaker, and a company with deep ties to the Chinese Communist Party – is building an electric car factory in Brazil at a location previously occupied by American carmaker Ford, which ceased its operations in Brazil in 2021. Ford sold the location to the local Bahia state government in 2023.

MPT explained in its statement that the rescued workers had been distributed across four main lodgings in Camaçari. A fifth lodging, intended for administrative workers, was also inspected by the authorities, but no workers were rescued despite inspectors finding “some irregularities” at the site. Brazilian outlets published photographic and video footage of the inspection shared by the officials.

“The conditions found in the lodgings revealed an alarming picture of precariousness and degradation. In the first room, the workers slept on beds without mattresses and had no cupboards for their personal belongings, which were mixed in with food materials,” The Public Prosecutor’s Office stated. “The sanitary situation was especially critical, with only one toilet for every 31 workers, forcing them to wake up at 4:00 a.m. to queue up and get ready to leave for work at 5:30 a.m.”

“All the accommodation shared serious infrastructure and hygiene problems. The bathrooms were not only inadequate, but they were not separated by sex, did not have adequate toilet seats and had poor hygiene conditions,” the statement continued. “The lack of an appropriate place to wash clothes led workers to use their own toilets for this purpose.”

The Public Prosecutor’s Office explained that the kitchen was “equally precarious,” with no proper cupboards for storing food. Inspectors found construction materials next to food, and food stored next to toilets in unsanitary conditions. Only one of the lodgings featured a makeshift dining hall with wooden benches and tables which were insufficient for all of the workers, forcing “most of them to eat their meals in their own beds.”

“The conditions at the construction site also revealed serious irregularities. The cafeteria at the workplace used coolers to serve meals, without ensuring minimum hygiene conditions,” the statement reads. “The chemical toilets, only eight for approximately 600 workers, were in a deplorable state, without toilet paper, water or adequate maintenance, in addition to not respecting the minimum distances established by regulation.”

The investigation also found that the workers were exposed to intense solar radiation, showing visible signs of skin damage. Several workplace accidents were recorded, including one case in which “a worker suffered an accident due to sleep deprivation caused by inadequate housing conditions and long working hours.”

The investigation also found that the workers were subjected to conditions of “forced labor,” having their passports and 60-percent of their wages withheld by the contractor. The workers were threatened with severe punishment should they decide to quit; the investigation found that early termination of the contract implied the loss of the withheld salaries and the obligation to reimburse the flight ticket costs to Brazil and pay for the return ticket to China.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office explained:

To give you an idea, if a worker tried to terminate the employment contract after six months, he would leave the country without actually receiving anything for his work, since the discount of the deposit, the ticket to come to Brazil and the payment of the return ticket would, in practice, constitute a total confiscation of the amounts received by the workers throughout the employment relationship.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office, together with the Brazilian Labor Ministry, scheduled a joint virtual hearing on Thursday, December 26, so that BYD and Jinjiang “can present the necessary measures to guarantee the minimum accommodation conditions and also to negotiate the conditions for the general regularization of what has already been detected.”

“The inspection, however, will continue with the analysis of requested documents, and the need for further on-site inspections is not ruled out,” the Prosecutor’s Office stressed.

In a statement provided to local Brazilian media on Monday, BYD Brazil’s vice president Alexandre Baldy reportedly stated that the Chinese carmaker company does not tolerate “disrespect for Brazilian law and human dignity” and that it has decided to “immediately terminate” the contract with the contractor responsible for part of the work at the Camaçari factory, in addition to studying “other appropriate measures.”

“BYD reiterates its commitment to full compliance with Brazilian legislation, especially with regard to the protection of workers’ rights,” Baldy said. “Therefore, it has been collaborating with the competent bodies from the very beginning and has decided to terminate the contract with the construction company Jinjiang.”

Donald Trump makes astonishing offer to people of Canada in strongest bid yet to 'take over'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Donald Trump has made his strongest bid yet to take over Canada, offering the Canadian people a 60 percent tax cut if they agree to join the US and become the 51st US state.

The president-elect has in recent days suggested a territorial expansion into Canada, Greenland and Panama, and has mocked prime minister Justin Trudeau by calling him 'governor.'

On Christmas, Trump escalated his campaigns against the governments of both Panama and Canada.

'Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China, who are lovingly, but illegally, operating the Panama Canal (where we lost 38,000 people in its building 110 years ago), always making certain that the United States puts in Billions of Dollars in “repair” money, but will have absolutely nothing to say about “anything,"' Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday.

'Also, to Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada, whose Citizens’ Taxes are far too high, but if Canada was to become our 51st State, their Taxes would be cut by more than 60%, their businesses would immediately double in size, and they would be militarily protected like no other Country anywhere in the World.

'Likewise, to the people of Greenland, which is needed by the United States for National Security purposes and, who want the U.S. to be there, and we will!'

Trump recently posted that 'Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State' and offered an image of himself superimposed on a mountaintop surveying surrounding territory next to a Canadian flag.

Trudeau has suggested that Trump was joking about annexing his country, but the pair met recently at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida to discuss Trump’s threats to impose a 25 percent tariff on all Canadian goods.

Counter-Drone Systems For Yachts Are Growing In Popularity
[TheWarZone] The growing threat of surveillance and even attacks by drones are pushing the richest among us to equip their yachts with counter-drone tech.

While aerial drone attacks on maritime vessels have thus far focused on commercial and naval ships, there is growing concern that quarter-billion dollar-plus superyachts, and the VIPs who own and cruise in them, may be vulnerable.

Similar small unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) used by ambitious paparazzi to photograph the vessels and people of the superyacht scene for more than a decade have proven deadly when weaponized in Ukraine and elsewhere, as The War Zone has frequently chronicled.

This reality has created a small, but growing market for counter-UAS (CUAS) systems for superyachts. Over the last five years, a number of firms have begun to offer CUAS capabilities for ultra-luxury vessels, including London/Monaco-based MARSS, which recently completed the installation of its NiDAR CUAS system on an undisclosed 400-foot (120m) superyacht and its 230-foot (70m) “support vessel.”

The installation cost approximately $4M and builds upon four previous NiDAR systems integrated by the company on new-build and existing superyachts in 2023. As costly as such systems are, a small but increasing number of owners figure they’re worth it.
