[NYPost] Manhattan prosecutors were forced to take the drastic step of tossing the top charge against Daniel Penny
…the young retired Marine architecture student who, with two gentlemen of colour who were not charged by DA Alvin Bragg, restrained homeless schizophrenic Jordan Neely until the police arrived and took the still-breathing man off their hands. Mr. Neely had 40 prior arrests including violent attacks, and was loudly working himself up to attack riders in that car, in part because of the apparently interesting drugs in his bloodstream...
Friday after jurors twice said they couldn’t agree on a verdict in the highly watched subway chokehold case.
The note from jurors stating that they were deadlocked on the count of manslaughter in the second-degree sparked a dizzying and dramatic back-and-forth that ended with Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Maxwell Wiley agreeing to dismiss the rap.
“I’ll take a chance and grant the people’s application,” Wiley said, instructing the jury to return Monday and deliberate the charge of criminally negligent homicide, which carries a lighter sentence.
“Whether that makes any difference or not, I have no idea. But I’m going to direct you to focus your deliberations on count two,” he said with a touch of deadpan humor — before telling them: “Go home and think about something else.”
Given. NYC Liberals cannot have a strong male figure citizen hero, stepping in, to protect the weak.
Maybe someone needs to LAWFARE & SUE the NYC DA office that released this Homeless crazy person, back on the community in order to obey their political parties' agenda.
After all, the NYC politicians & DA office have gone out of their way to place this violent, mentally ill homeless person back on the streets. Despite that Mentally Ill person's well documented violent record.

Article this am indicated that the prosecutors asked for the charge to be dropped, in order to hopefully get a conviction on the lesser charge as opposed to a mistrial which throws out both charges, tho in that case a re-trial would be possible.

I don’t think you can call a Mulligan after it’s gone to the jury.

Whether that makes any difference or not, I have no idea. But I’m going to direct you to focus your deliberations on count two
Which proves this is a political court, not a court of law. If the first charge results in a hung jury, the judge anywhere else would declare a mistrial and everything would start over.
The arguments and focus has been mostly on count one, but now the jury is tainted in how it looks at count two and I guarantee if they find him guilty an appeals court will overturn it.
I'm close to just thinking the NY court is in a state of insurrection and every member needs hung.

[Regnum] On December 6, Telegram messenger co-founder Pavel Durov appeared in court for the first time since his arrest in France for questioning on the merits of the case regarding his possible involvement in criminal activity carried out using his messenger. This was reported by the AFP agency.
Durov arrived at the court at 10:00 a.m. together with his lawyers David-Olivier Kaminski and Christophe Ingren. He did not give any comments to the media, stating only that he “believes in French justice.”
The publication noted that the equipment that the police confiscated from Durov and his companion Yulia Vavilova was returned only on December 5.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, the privacy policy of the Telegram messenger since 2018 provides for the transfer of data of criminals of most countries to the authorities. The company has not adopted any innovations in this regard. This was stated on October 2 by Pavel Durov, who was accused in France of refusing to provide such information.
Durov was detained at Le Bourget Airport in Paris on August 24. The corresponding warrant was issued by the French National Office of the Judicial Police (OFMIN) based on a preliminary investigation. Durov was placed in custody. France considers him involved in the commission of crimes due to Telegram's refusal to cooperate with the authorities.
On September 6, the entrepreneur said that he had set a goal to reduce the possibility of using Telegram for criminal purposes. Criminals can abuse the platform, especially against the backdrop of an increase in the number of users. Telegram in particular and social networks in general should become safer, Durov believes.
[NYPOST] Romania's top court annulled the first round of presidential elections on Friday over allegations that Russia interfered to prop up far-right outsider Calin Georgescu, who won the first round.
The unprecedented, binding decision from the country's Constitutional Court means that the second round run-off election scheduled for Sunday, which would have pitted Georgescu and his centrist rival Elena Lasconi against each other, has been canceled.
Sitting President Klaus Iohannis declassified intelligence on Wednesday that revealed Russia ran a sweeping social media campaign consisting of thousands of accounts to promote Georgescu across platforms like TikTok and Telegram.
Georgescu, an outsider nationalist who claimed he spent zero money campaigning, suddenly emerged as the front-runner on Nov. 24.
[IsraelTimes] Romanian police raid houses linked to a probe into alleged irregularities in the first-round presidential election win of far-right outsider Calin Georgescu, a day after the top court canceled the imminent run-off.
Three houses in Brasov city in central Romania are being searched as part of the investigation “in connection with crimes of voter corruption, money laundering, computer forgery,” says a statement from the prosecutor’s office

Well, the EU charter said on ratification if any member declined it killed the compact. Denmark and Ireland declined and they made them have a 'do over' till they got the answer they wanted.

What will they do if the remote yields the same result? I expect that there will be some games played with candidates added and dropped to try to screw him.

Yeah, there was some real hanky-panky going on there (intimidation, fake endorsements, forged ballots, etc. - not unlike a few locales in the US 2020 election cycle).
National polling 2 weeks before the election had Georgescu at less than 1%.
