[FoxNews] Agents seized roughly 170 firearms, tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition and smoke/marine markers from Carlos Serrano-Restrepo's home
A federal judge denied a request to dismiss a gun charge against an illegal immigrant in Ohio who had been in the U.S. for more than 15 years, rejecting the man's argument that he has a right to bear arms.
Carlos Serrano-Restrepo was charged earlier this year and was subsequently indicted for possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully in the U.S., according to WSYX.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives began investigating and watching Serrano-Restrepo after he purchased at least 22 firearms, and claimed to be a U.S. citizen on the firearms forms.
Agents conducted a search of his home and seized roughly 170 firearms, tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition and smoke/marine markers.
Serrano-Restrepo said some of the guns were purchased for self-defense.
Photos that agents took at his home revealed he kept firearms in gun safes. Some handguns were also mounted in holsters on the wall of a closet.
The suspect's lawyer submitted a motion to dismiss the charge on the argument that he has the right to bear arms under the Second Amendment.
The judge denied his motion to dismiss the charge on Thursday, writing in his opinion that "disarming unlawful immigrants like Mr. Serrano-Restrepo who have not sworn allegiance to the United States comports with the Nation’s history and tradition of firearm regulations."
"Mr. Serrano-Restrepo’s as-applied challenge lacks merit," the judge continued. "The swearing of an oath of allegiance occurs through the naturalization process, not through his asylum application or his years of living in the United States."
His trial is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2025.
Serrano-Restrepo moved from Arizona to Orient, Ohio, in 2022. He told the court he last unlawfully entered the U.S. in 2008.
He also owns a business that remediates fire and flooding damage.

I think that the Supreme Court may have already ruled that illegals have no 2A protection. His deportation will be a white knuckle proposition.

The United States is either a place or a nation, depending on your political point of view. For many liberals it seems, being inside the borders of this "place" gives all the benefits and protections defined by the founding documents, regardless of how you get here, and special extra benefits are awarded if you seem likely to agree with them.
For a conservative, quite the opposite view. Citizens alone have the right to expectations of all the rights, benefits and obligations of being an American. Legal "house guests" and those we invite to stay and join the family because they bring skills, attitudes and abilities of value are welcome as long as they behave. People who break in should have no expectation of welcome or protection beyond civilized treatment as they are escorted out, and if they resist, will be dealt with as firmly as required, never to return.

Meanwhile, the European Union also condemned the attack on civilians in a statement, emphasizing that all communities must be protected from violence.
The EU in Afghanistan stated: "The EU in Afghanistan condemns the attack targeting civilians during prayers in Baghlan province. All communities should be safe and protected from violence.”
"To eliminate any threat, the people of Afghanistan must unite with their government, and the government must fulfill its responsibilities," Yousuf Amin Zazai, a military affairs expert, told TOLOnews.
Before Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack, local authorities in Baghlan had reported the arrest of several individuals in connection with the incident.
[ToloNews] The International Organization for Migration (IOM) stated in a recent report that the return rate of Afghans to Afghanistan decreased by 3% in the past week compared to the previous week.
According to the report, 76,558 people entered Afghanistan in the past week, while over 53,000 people left Afghanistan for other countries during the same period, showing an 8% decrease.
The IOM added, " Both inflows and outflows decreased slightly compared to last week. The total number of inflows was 76,558 this week, representing a three percent decrease, while the total number of outflows was 53,056 movements, representing an eight percent decrease."

"We stand by Israel and the right to self-defence," Söder affirmed in Munich during his speech as guest of honour at the Council of the Central Council of Jews. "I find it disconcerting when the International Criminal Court equates Israel and Hamas. The Criminal Court has massively damaged itself".

Haaretz publisher Amos Schocken is facing renewed backlash after a recently revealed speech in which he referred to Palestinian terrorists as "freedom fighters" and called for sanctions against Israeli leaders and settlers.
The speech, which was delivered at a conference hosted by the New Israel Fund and the Berl Katznelson Foundation on October 8 in Israel, was uncovered by Channel 14 through the New Israel Fund's YouTube channel.
Schocken's comments were described as inflammatory, particularly in light of his earlier statements at a conference in London, which had already prompted the Israeli government to cut all ties with Haaretz.
In his October 8 speech, Schocken stated:
"The Netanyahu government wants to continue and intensify illegal settlement in the territories that were meant for a Palestinian state. It doesn’t care about imposing a cruel apartheid regime on the Palestinian population. It dismisses the costs of both sides for defending the settlements while fighting the Palestinian freedom fighters that Israel calls terrorists."
He further argued that the only way to advance the establishment of a Palestinian state was through international sanctions:
"A Palestinian state must be established, and the only way to achieve this is by applying sanctions against Israel’s leaders and settlers in the occupied territories."
The audience reportedly applauded his remarks, highlighting the divide between Israeli and international discourse on the matter.
GOVERNMENT CUTS TIES WITH HAARETZ
The Israeli government had already moved to sever all ties with Haaretz following Schocken’s statements at a London conference earlier this year, where he called for sanctions against Israel’s leaders and accused the government of perpetuating apartheid policies.
At its weekly meeting on Sunday, the cabinet unanimously approved Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi’s proposal to cease all engagement with Haaretz, including halting government advertisements in the publication.
Karhi condemned Schocken’s rhetoric, stating:
"It is unacceptable for the publisher of an official newspaper in the State of Israel to call for sanctions against it and support the state’s enemies in the midst of a war."
The government’s decision also cited Haaretz’s role in publishing articles that allegedly undermined Israel’s legitimacy on the international stage.

The procurements include the Reshef-class corvettes that are due to replace the Israeli Navy’s aging Sa’ar 4.5-class missile boats, set to be retired after four decades.
Under a deal with Israel Shipyards, five Reshef-class corvettes will be built for the Navy, according to a statement.

Enrico Basilio was deported from Israel to the Philippines some 22 years ago, when his son was just 2 years old. On Monday, he will visit the Population and Immigration Authority in Tel Aviv, where he will receive his permanent resident visa.

In a statement cited by Ynet on Sunday, Arbel said that the decision to issue the permanent residency visa to Basilio was a show of "gratitude for Cedrick’s heroism and sacrifice for the country."
"We will continue to stand by these families, who raised their children to serve and protect the country," he added.
Cedrick completed his mandatory military service as a combat soldier in the Givati Brigade, and shortly before he was discharged in 2021, he received a certificate of distinction from the head of the IDF’s Southern Command.
His journey to get there was not straightforward, however, as he had dropped out during his last year of high school and got into trouble with the law. But then he turned his life around, and, as he was determined to serve his adopted country, he pleaded with military officials to allow him to enlist.
Cedrick hoped to pursue a career in security, as he was presented on the IDF website in 2021 after he received a certificate of distinction: "I discovered [during my IDF service] that I love it... Every time I am guarding... I feel like, ’Wow, people can sleep in peace because of us. Because I am here.’ That’s what I want to do my whole life."
His ultimate goal was to provide financially for his mother, Imelda, so that she could stop working, his wife, Daniela, recounted at his funeral. For himself, she said, he envisioned "a messy house full of children and noise."

The NSC stresses that the threat has not grown but the council is "sharpening" its recommendations.
Israelis should "avoid attending large-scale events associated with Israel, with an emphasis on those announced in advance, or places of entertainment and gathering associated with Israel. Notify local security forces if you are exposed to hostile activity targeting Israelis," the NSC says.

At a session of the Majles, Iran’s parliament, Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf slammed the resolution by the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors and said Iran had followed through on its threat to turn on the advanced enrichment machines.
"The Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran’s reciprocal response to this political misuse of the Board of Governors was immediately put into action, and the deployment of a set of new and advanced centrifuges has begun," he said, according to quotes reported by Iran International.
Activating new centrifuges further advances Iran’s nuclear program, which already enriches uranium at near-weapons-grade levels and boasts a stockpile enough for several nuclear bombs if it chooses to pursue them. The IAEA last announced in June that Iran had begun spinning new centrifuges, and planned to deploy more.
The IAEA resolution approved on Thursday was proposed by Britannia, La Belle France, Germany, and the United States, and requires the IAEA to produce a "comprehensive and updated assessment" of Iran’s nuclear activities, which could eventually trigger a referral to the UN Security Council to consider more sanctions on Tehran.
It came on the heels of a confidential report last week in which the IAEA said Iran has defied international demands to rein in its nuclear program.
That report, seen by the AP on Tuesday, said that as of October 26, Iran had accumulated 182.3 kilograms (401.9 pounds) of uranium enriched up to 60 percent, an increase of 17.6 kilograms (38.8 pounds) since the last IAEA report in August. Uranium enriched at 60% purity is just a short, technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90%.
