Ansarullah: all-out war against Lebanon will be a disaster for the Zionist entity — Hodhod Yemen News Agency
Hey, Israelis! Are you clutching each other in delicious fear yet?
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Political Bureau of Ansarallah said on Friday that ''the dangerous development in the Zionist aggression on Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
opens the door to an open and comprehensive war, which will be nothing but disaster for the temporary entity and war criminals.''

The political bureau explained in a statement that targeting the southern suburb, which is crowded with civilians, ''is unprecedented brutality and is neither new nor surprising from the Zionist gang.''

''The Zionist entity's persistence in committing bloody crimes and escalation after escalation is taking place amidst great failure and conspiracy against the jihad and resistance movements,'' the statement added.

The statement pointed out that the Israeli enemy would not have been able to continue in this manner without the unlimited Western and American support.

''The weapons used in the recent raids confirm once again that the United States of America is a full partner in the killing of civilians,'' the statement said. ''The aggression on Paleostine and Lebanon is an obvious American war.''

The Political Bureau of Ansarallah renewed its solidarity with the Islamic Resistance® in Lebanon, expressing its confidence in Hezbollah and its political and military leadership.

The statement urged the Arab and Islamic peoples and the free people of the world to show more solidarity to stop the war and aggression against Lebanon and Paleostine.

Austria’s far-right Freedom Party headed for historic win in general elections
Another rightwing populist party enters the winners box because voters have given up on the mainstream parties fixing the Moslem colonist problem they created.
[IsraelTimes] Austrian voters have handed a first-ever general election victory to the far-right Freedom Party (FPO) on Sunday, vote projections show, underlining rising support for hard-right parties in Europe fueled by concern over immigration levels.

The Eurosceptic, Russia-friendly FPO held a slim lead in opinion polls for months over Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s ruling conservative Austrian People’s Party (OVP) in a campaign dominated by immigration and worries about the economy.

Led by Herbert Kickl, the FPO is projected to secure 29.1% of the vote, ahead of the OVP on 26.2%, and the center-left Social Democrats on 20.4%, a projection by pollster Foresight for broadcaster ORF shows after polls closed.

A separate projection by pollster Arge Wahlen also has the FPO coming first, winning by around 4 percentage points.

The winner will fall short of an absolute majority, but will claim the right to lead a coalition.

If confirmed, Kickl’s victory may prove pyrrhic, as the 55-year-old is a polarising figure under whom other party leaders have refused to serve.

He has given no indication so far he could step aside to ensure his party leads the government.

“What’s at stake is whether the FPO will appoint the chancellor or not,” explains Kathrin Stainer-Haemmerle, a political science professor at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences.

“Should that happen, then I have to say the role of Austria in the European Union would be significantly different. Kickl has often said that (Hungarian Prime Minister) Viktor Orban is a role model for him and he will stand by him.”

Minneapolis Swears In First Non-U.S. Citizen [Somali] as Police Officer
[Breitbart] Minneapolis, Minnesota, has sworn in its first police officer who is not a U.S. citizen, according to reports.

The Minnesota Police Dept. has reported that Lesly Vera, a native of Somalia, was sworn in on Thursday as the department’s first non-citizen officer.

Vera was seen at the swearing-in ceremony wearing a hijab over her head as she took the oath of office and received her badge.

Vera moved to Minneapolis with her parents from their arrival point in Mexico when she was four. She is a legal resident alien and authorized to work, but is not a U.S. citizen.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara defended the idea of giving police powers to a non-citizen.

“There may be people who question it, but that’s completely ridiculous. There’s, like I mentioned, there is a history in this country of people immediately on arrival to the country, enlisting in the military and serving,” O’Hara told KSTP-TV. “Somebody like [Officer Vera], who has been here essentially her entire life, absolutely is entitled to protect her community in the same way that anyone else here has, and we’re honored to have her.”

The Somali migrant community in Minneapolis is the largest in the United States and the city has been a target of Somali migration since the 1990s. Somalis were drawn to the city for its generous welfare programs and the chance to live as ex-pats among their own countrymen, but the community has recently been rocked by a massive fraud case entailing tens of millions in stolen Medicaid funding connected to a fake charity called Feeding Our Future run by leading local Somali residents.

The door was opened for Vera last year when the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) adopted new rules that allowed state law enforcement agencies to elevate non-citizens to the role of police officer. The citizenship requirement was dropped and applicants now only need to be a legal resident and cleared to work in the U.S. to be handed a gun and badge.

Minnesota is not the only state working to allow non-citizens to become police officers. California, Colorado, and Illinois are also crafting legislation to give non-citizens police powers.

Minneapolis was rocked in 2017 when police officer and Somali-native Mohamed Noor shot and killed an Australian woman while responding to a 911 call. Officer Noor was eventually convicted of third-degree murder and manslaughter, though the state Supreme court later vacated the third-degree conviction. Ultimately, Noor was sentenced to 57 months for murdering the woman.

US boosts ‘defensive’ air support and hikes troops’ readiness to deploy for Middle East
[IsraelTimes] US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has authorized the military to reinforce its presence in the Middle East with “defensive” air-support capabilities and put other forces on a heightened readiness status, the Pentagon says.

Austin has “increased the readiness of additional US forces to deploy, elevating our preparedness to respond to various contingencies,” Pentagon spokesman Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder says in a statement.

The statement does not detail what new aircraft will be deploying to the region.

“Secretary Austin made clear that should Iran, its partners, or its proxies use this moment to target American personnel or interests in the region, the United States will take every necessary measure to defend our people,” Ryder adds.
Subsequently he shared details, reported Fox News, courtesy of Skidmark in comments:
He said Austin "directed that the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group (CSG) remain in the US Centcom theater and that the USS Wasp Amphibious Ready Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit (ARG/MEU) will continue to operate in the Eastern Mediterranean." The afloat posture, Ryder said, "is complemented by DoD’s elevated fighter and attack squadron presence, including F-22, F-15E, F-16, and A-10 aircraft, and we will further reinforce our defensive air-support capabilities in the coming days."

Jordanian FM: Arab world willing to guarantee Israel’s security if Palestinian state established
Posted because I’m sure we could all use a cleansing belly laugh.
[IsraelTimes] In a recent press conference on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi insisted that Arab and Muslim countries will guarantee Israel’s security if Jerusalem agrees to allow the establishment of a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 lines, while blasting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s refusal to do so.

“The Israeli prime minister came here today and said that Israel is surrounded by those who want to destroy it,” Safadi said at a Friday press conference shortly after Netanyahu finished his speech at the UN General Assembly.

“We’re here — members of the Muslim-Arab committee, mandated by 57 Arab and Muslim countries — and I can tell you very unequivocally, all of us are willing to guarantee the security of Israel in the context of Israel ending the occupation and allowing for the emergence of a Palestinian state,” Safadi passionately argued.

Netanyahu “is creating that danger because he simply does not want the two-state solution. If he does not want the two-state solution, can you ask Israeli officials what is their end-game — other than just wars and wars and wars?”

“All of us in the Arab world here, want a peace in which Israel lives in peace and security, accepted, normalized with all Arab countries in the context of ending the occupation, withdrawing from Arab territory, allowing for the emergence of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lies with East Jerusalem as its capital,” Safadi continues.

“The amount of damage that this Israeli government has done — 30 years of efforts to convince people that peace is possible, this Israeli government killed it. The amount of dehumanization, hatred, bitterness, will take generations to navigate through,” the Jordanian foreign minister says. “We have no partner for peace in Israel, there is a partner for peace in the Arab world, and that’s why the international community needs to move.”

In first, Olmert confirms Israel killed Hezbollah chief Mughniyeh in Syria in 2008
“He’s dead, Jim.”
“Dr. Quincy — how do you always know!?!”
[IsraelTimes] Former PM says bumper of car exploded in Damascus, killing arch-terrorist 16 years ago; lauds Nasrallah assassination as ‘important’ but unlikely to ‘change reality’

Former prime minister Ehud Olmert on Saturday confirmed for the first time that Israel was responsible for the death of Hezbollah global operations chief Imad Mughniyeh, who died in a bomb blast in Damascus in 2008.

“We haven’t talked about it until today,” Olmert said in an interview with Channel 13 news, “but it seems to me that by now we can admit it. After we eliminated the entire leadership of Hezbollah, we can admit that 16 years ago we eliminated the biggest, most abominable, most despicable mass murderer they ever had, who built the entire Hezbollah military wing.”

The former premier’s comments come after Israel on Friday assassinated Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in an underground command HQ in Beirut.

In his Saturday night interview, Olmert lauded the “important” assassination of Nasrallah, who he said was “responsible for 20 years or more of endless wars, of endless injuries, of killing many Israelis.”

Asked about his approval of Mughniyeh’s assassination in 2008, during his term as prime minister, Olmert said, “In this case, it was an operation that took place in another country, not in the country where he lives, not in Lebanon, and there were all kinds of dramatic aspects about which I cannot speak.”

“What exploded was the bumper of the car we placed there so that when Mugniyeh passed, we could press the button and trap him,” he said without giving further details.

“There were endless ‘James Bond’ type operations, but I’ll tell you a secret, and I think it’s important to say, even amid the excitement of this evening,” Olmert said. “These operations are very important. They always have some dimension that stirs enthusiasm… but they usually do not change reality. They can create a resonance that can generate some kind of momentum, but let’s not overdo it.”

Mughniyeh was implicated in some of the Iran-backed terror group’s major attacks, including the 1992 bombing at the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires and the 1994 bombing of the AMIA building in the Argentinian capital, in which 85 people were killed.

The senior Hezbollah terrorist was also involved in the 1983 bombing at the US embassy in Beirut, the killing in 1985 of the CIA’s Lebanon chief William F. Buckley, and the 1996 bombing at the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia. In the years after the 2003 US invasion if Iraq, Mughniyeh was responsible for the arming and training of Iranian-backed Shiite militias in Iraq who carried out deadly attacks on American troops — all of which put him at the top of the US’s wanted list.

International outlets have reported that Mughniyeh was assassinated in a joint Mossad-CIA operation that required special approval from then-US president George W. Bush, and a Showtime miniseries released last year included interviews with ex-Mossad and -CIA officials discussing the operation.

Israel has denied responsibility for killing Mughniyeh and the US has never admitted involvement in the operation. A US State Department spokesman said after the killing: “The world is a better place without this man in it. He was a coldblooded killer, a mass murderer, and a terrorist responsible for countless innocent lives lost.”

Sa’ar: Rejoining government now is ‘the patriotic thing to do’; Netanyahu: ‘We’ve put the grudges of the past behind us’
Strengthening the position of Bibi’s government in the Knesset.
[IsraelTimes] In a joint press statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and New Hope leader Gideon Sa’ar announce Sa’ar’s re-entry into the government.

Netanyahu thanks Sa’ar for responding positively to his offer to return to the governing coalition, praising him for his "broad vision and his ability to offer creative solutions to complicated problems."

"It is no secret that we have had disagreements in the past," says Netanyahu of Sa’ar, "but since October 7 we have put all the grudges of the past behind us."

For his part, Sa’ar says that his decision to re-enter the government, despite withdrawing his party from the emergency coalition back in March comes amid "difficult and challenging days."

"It is important to strengthen Israel, its government, and its unity and cohesion," he says. "Therefore I acceded to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s request to join the government and contribute to its work in decision-making forums with my experience and abilities. This is the patriotic and right thing to do now."

Sa’ar makes clear that he is joining the coalition as a minister without portfolio. He said last week he was offered the post of defense minister but turned it down. Netanyahu is widely believed to be determined to fire Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in the near future — and replace him either with Sa’ar or another current minister.

Sa’ar heads a four-strong party, and thus his New Hope’s entry into the coalition raises it to 68 of the 120 Knesset members, solidifying Netanyahu’s governing majority.

In Gaza, we have been pursuing a deal backed by the UN Security Council for a ceasefire and the release of hostages. In Lebanon, we have been negotiating a deal that would return people safely to their homes in Israel and southern Lebanon. It is time for these deals to close, for the threats to Israel to be removed, and for the broader Middle East region to gain greater stability.

The Times of Israel reported that the Biden administration was angry about the airstrike because Israel did not inform it until the operation was in progress, and appeared to have strung the White House along about a ceasefire.

Kirby: All-out war with Hezbollah won’t bring safety to Israel’s northern residents

[IsraelTimes] Israel will not be able to safely get people back into their homes in the north of the country by waging an all-out war with Hezbollah or Iran, White House national security spokesman John Kirby says.

Kirby also tells CNN that the United States is continuing to talk to Israel about what the right next steps in Lebanon are.

#3  On Sunday afternoon, an out-of-it-looking Joe Biden was asked by a reporter while on a tarmac if he had any thoughts "on the strikes in Yemen."

Biden's response was to say "I've spoken to both sides. They gotta settle the strike. I'm supporting the collective bargaining effort. I think they'll settle the strike."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Lebanon’s caretaker PM: ‘We have no option but the diplomatic option’
Yes, but all you can do is surrender to the IDF. The government of Lebanon has absolutely nothing else to bargain with, and you cannot even enforce that if Hezbollah’s leadership, whoever they are, chooses not to agree. Or if Iran, which holds Hezbollah’s leash, refuses to allow it.
[IsraelTimes] Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel.
’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati says in a televised speech that his country had "no option but the diplomatic option," in response to a question about diplomatic efforts to end fighting between Israel and the Hezbollah terror group.

He also says the intensified fighting may have forced up to a million people to flee parts of Lebanon in possibly the worst displacement crisis in the country’s history.

Mikati tells news hounds that "the estimated number is very high and may reach one million" — which would amount to roughly a sixth of Lebanon’s population.

"It is the largest displacement movement that may have happened... in Lebanon," he says.

New Hezbollah Chief likely will be Hashem Safieddine - kin to Nasrallah
[OutlookIndia] er the death of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli strike in Beirut, Hashem Safieddine might be named as the next Secretary-General of the Lebanese militant group.

Following Hasrallah's killing, Safieddine has been serving as the head of the executive council.

Hashem Safieddine (also known as Hashim Safi Al Din), is Hassan Nasrallah's lover cousin and would oversee Hezbollah's political affairs. The senior leader would also sit on the Jihad Council of the group, which manages Hezbollah's military operations.

#3  These days, being chief of Hezbollah is sort of like being as Supreme Court justice in the US = a lifetime job.
The difference is the justices live a lot longer.

#8  A good question. It depends how many other projects the IDF and Mossad have coming to a bpoil at the moment. And whether they want to catch him alone or go for the dramatic efficiency of a group again. They must have limited ammunition, etc, while they clearly have nearly unlimited targets… and they clearly know exactly where all those targets are. Seriously — who had get PFLP Number 1 in Beirut on their card, not just for September but ever at all? Honestly, it’s beyond my ability to calculate.
