[GEO.TV] Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar on Thursday revealed that an investigation committee concluded that Dr Shahnawaz Kunbhar, the blasphemy ...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran... suspect in Umerkot, was killed in staged police encounter as he pledged stern action against those responsible in the incident.
The medical professional was booked by Umerkot police under Section 295-C of the Pakistain Penal Code for allegedly sharing 'blasphemous posts' on social media.
Dr Kunbhar was taken into "protective custody" on Sept 18 by the local police. Later, the suspect was transferred to Mirpurkhas but the next day he was rubbed out by Sindhri police, what they called ''an encounter''.
Sindhri SHO Niaz Khoso alleged that the doctor along with 'accomplices' shot up police. In retaliatory action, the suspect was rubbed out whereas his accomplice managed to escape, he added. The doctor's body was handed over to his relatives but a mob emerged again and torched it.
The alleged encounter prompted widespread public outcry, with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah taking notice of the incident and ordering the suspension of the Mirpurkhas DIG, SSP and other coppers.
Addressing a presser on Thursday, the Sindh minister said the investigation committee led by DIG Pervaiz Chandio of Shaheed Benazirabad termed the alleged police encounter fake.
He said the Sindh Assembly had demanded the suspension of the cops involved in the alleged encounter and added that the suspension of a DIG and a SSP among other officials and the holding of a probe into the incident is rare instance.
Giving details of a 31-page detailed investigation report, Lanjar said that the probe team reviewed the CCTV footages and call data records (CDR) and traced the mobile phones.
''Our coppers are involved in this incident [โ] We are ordering a registration of first information report against them,'' he noted, adding that they have apprised the chief minister of this investigation report.
Furthermore, he said, DIP and SSP Mirpurkhas have been suspended and an FIR would be registered against him. ''At least six cases have been registered so far [โ] no one will be spared.''
''We have also briefed his [the suspect] family members on the inquiry being launched into the incident.''
He asked the doctor's family members to register a case, saying: ''If the family refuses to file FIR, then the state will.''
''Investigation was underway whether Dr Shahnawaz was innocent or not,'' the provincial minister said, adding the inquiry report was based on the encounter itself, not whether the dear departed had committed blasphemy.
Lanjar added that the inquiry committee was constituted for a ''disciplinary investigation'', adding: ''We have appointed a new DIG and the committee investigating the FIRs will comprise two SSPs from Umerkot and Shaheed Benazirabad.''
Following the investigation, Lanjar said, CM Murad will announce a compensation for the suspect's family. ''No extrajudicial incident is tolerable,'' he concluded.
'INVESTIGATION REPORT'
According to the investigation report โ a copy of which is available with Geo News, the inquiry committee ''unanimously'' agreed that ''Mirpurkhas police potted him [Dr Shahnawaz] in a managed encounter and tried to give it a legal cover but failed''.
The committee analysed the CCTV footages, police documents, social media content, CDRs, Tracker data and ''secret information collected from different sources''.
It noted that Umerkot police took the suspect into custody from Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... , before transferring him to the custody of Mirpurkhas police.
''This illegal action of police officials brought very bad name to the Sindh Police, otherwise, which holds an outstanding history regarding maintaining religious equilibrium throughout the province of Sindh in such challenging times,'' it stated.
The committee, in its report, recommended that the doctor's family members record a statement and file a first information report (FIR) for murder under the concerned sections of law.
It also suggested ''strict departmental action'' against police personnel from both Umerkot and Mirpurkhas police who ''celebrated'' the killing.
Moreover, the report recommended that the cases be conducted by a senior officer, not below the rank of superintendent of police (SP), and preferably by the Counterterrorism Department (CTD) or crime branch.
''The whole episode was not seriously handled as per law and police rules, lacking overall command and failure to take decisions as enumerated in [the] legal framework of the country by the officers including DIG Mirpurkhas, SSP Umarkot, and SSP Mirpurkhas,'' the report concluded.

Need to talk to our ATF about how to get away with this endeavor.
[GEO.TV] At least one person was killed and 18 sustained injuries in a kaboom inside a cop shoppe in Khyber Pakhtunkwa's Swabi district, Commissioner Mardan Division Javed Marwat said on Thursday.
As per an initial report received by the Central Police Office, the earth-shattering kaboom apparently occurred "due to a short circuit" inside a depot on the first floor of the cop shoppe.
Rescue and firefighting teams rushed to the scene immediately and started shifting the maimed cops to the Bacha Khan Medical where emergency has been imposed.
The power blast affected the building which caught fire, however, it was doused following an immediate response from firefighting teams.
According to rescue officials, 15 maimedcoppers have been shifted to the hospital.
KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur took notice of the incident and ordered the inspector general and chief secretary to immediately reach the Swabi cop shoppe.
He also ordered them to present a report after ascertaining the genre of the earth-shattering kaboom. He also asked authorities to ensure timely medical assistance to the injured.
District Police Officer (DPO) Haroon Rashid told the media that 33 maimed persons were shifted to different hospitals. He added that nature of the earth-shattering kaboom was being ascertained.
Dr Asif, medical superintendent of the District Headquarters Hospital, confirmed that 26 injured have been brought to the DHQ hospital. Subsequently, BKMC spokesperson Raham Khan said that eight injured persons were receiving medical treatment at the health facility.

[IsraelTimes] Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar says terror group’s ability to recover from hits depends on bringing in arms; says Air Force, Northern Command are preparing for potential ground op in Lebanon.
His comments came as Hebrew media reported that Israel has in recent days identified an increase in Iranian efforts to transfer weapons to its Lebanese proxy, and after the military struck a crossing on the Syria-Leb border that it said was being used by Hezbollah for weapons smuggling.
Iran, Hezbollah’s principal sponsor, has long supplied the terror group with weapons for potential use against Israel. The air force chief on Thursday also stressed the importance of ground-air coordination in the event of a potential ground invasion of Lebanon, which the military has said in recent days that it is preparing for, conducting training exercises in the north and issuing call-up orders to several reservist units.
"We are preparing, shoulder to shoulder with the Northern Command, for a ground maneuver. We’re preparing — whether it will be carried out is a decision made above us," Bar said.
"But what we demonstrated with the Southern Command during operations in Gaza, with aerial support for each combat team, down to the individual soldier entering on the ground, will be the starting point in the north," he said.
Bar’s comments echoed remarks by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, who told soldiers Wednesday that their "military boots will enter enemy territory."
"You can hear the planes above, we are attacking all day. Both to prepare the area for the possibility of your entry [into Lebanon], and also to continue landing blows on Hezbollah," Halevi told troops of the 7th Armored Brigade during a drill simulating a ground offensive in Lebanon.

[IsraelTimes] Interception of surface-to-surface missile triggers alerts across central Israel; 17-year-old moderately hurt by car pulling off road amid attack; Houthis to soon make announcement
Israeli air defenses intercepted a surface-to-surface missile fired from Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... , the military said after sirens were activated in Tel Aviv and across central Israel early Friday morning.
The Israel Defense Forces said the missile was downed "outside the country’s borders" by the long-range Arrow air defense system, adding that warning alerts were triggered due to concerns about falling shrapnel from the interception.
The IDF also said there were no new instructions from the Home Front Command following the attack.
There were no reports of direct impacts from the shrapnel and no one was directly hurt by falling debris, though the Magen David Adom ambulance service said a 17-year-old girl was moderately hurt after being struck by a car pulling to the side of the road amid the attack.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, though Yemen’s Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... rebels said a military front man would make an announcement in the coming hours.
A Houthi official hinted the attack was in retaliation for an Israeli Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... Thursday that killed senior Hezbollah leader Mohammed Srur, whose death was confirmed by the Lebanese terror group shortly before the sirens sounded in Israel.
Srur was among a number of top advisers sent by Hezbollah to Yemen to train the Houthis, who are also backed by Iran, a source close to Hezbollah told AFP.
The IDF, which described Srur as Hezbollah’s drone commander, said he was Hezbollah’s attaché to Yemen where he was involved in the Houthis’ aerial forces.
The strike targeting Srur was the fourth in a week targeting Hezbollah commanders in the densely populated southern suburbs of Beirut, one of the Shiite organization’s strongholds, with fighting between Israel and Hezbollah intensifying after nearly a year of cross-border skirmishes.
The missile attack from Yemen came after Hezbollah fired a surface-to-surface missile at Tel Aviv early Wednesday, the first time it has as gotten a rocket close to Israel’s central hub. Hezbollah said the attack was a response to thousands of pager and walkie-talkie explosions among its ranks — widely attributed to but not officially claimed by Israel — and the recent liquidations of the top commanders in IDF airstrikes.

[IsraelTimes] Three suspects indicted this week on charges of planning acts of terrorism, developing weapons with aid from West Bank Palestinians illegally in Israel
Who will they turn out to be: Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Fatah, or the Northern Branch โ the militant arm of the Islamic Movement? (Islamic Movement is what the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel calls itself. The Southern Branch, which concentrates on good works and politics, now calls itself the Raโam Party, and not only actively participates in Israeli elections but from time to time is a loyal active member of the government.)
The Shin Bet and Israel Police thwarted a planned terror bombing and shooting attack at Jewish holy sites in the north last month, security forces announced in a joint statement on Thursday.
The agencies said they arrested Basel Abahara, a 23-year-old Galilee resident who planned the attack, and two minors in mid-August. An indictment was filed against them this week charging them with preparing an act of terrorism and producing weapons.
During their interrogations, it became evident that Abahara intended to set off explosives at the graves of sages in the north to target Jews who came to pray there and follow up the earth-shattering kabooms by shooting at the would-be victims, the statement said.
It added that in the months prior to his arrest, Abahara sought advice from West Bank Paleostinians who had illegally entered Israel on how to build the explosives.
Abahara had recruited the minors who were arrested with him to help carry out the attack, the statement said.
The statement said that the Shin Bet and police seized communication devices, a military vest, and materials used to build bombs during the investigation, and that preparations for the attack were in the early stages when the arrest was made.
During Abaharaโs interrogation, he also revealed that he had thrown a Molotov cocktail at a road near his home at the beginning of the Israel-Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... war, which has been raging in Gazoo

[IsraelTimes] Arab Israeli spotted mob attacking soldier in Jaffa, ran across road to join in, hitting him with 3-kilogram rock before fleeing
An Arab Israeli man was sentenced on Thursday to 15 years in prison by the Tel Aviv District Court for taking part in the beating of an IDF soldier in Jaffa during nationwide unrest in May 2021.
Nur Youssef, 32, was convicted in February of attempted murder, after he ran across the street to join a mob assaulting the soldier on a main road, hitting him over the head with a three-kilogram (6.6-pound) rock.
In addition to imprisonment, Youssef was ordered to pay NIS 100,000 ($27,000) to his victim in damages.
In February, the court rejected Youssef’s defense that he did not intend to kill the soldier and only attacked him because he believed the soldier was in possession of a stone and had threatening intentions.
According to prosecutors, the mob fled after beating the soldier, leaving him with severe injuries.
Prosecution attorneys Uri Goldstein and Oren Haim said in a statement that they had requested the court hand down a more severe sentence of 24 years of jail time and that they would consider further steps, indicating they might appeal the ruling.
The attack came during a period of unrest in May 2021 that saw the worst violence between Jewish and Arab communities in decades. Amid intense fighting with Gazoo

[GEO.TV] Israel continues its rampage on Gaza as it claims that it has targeted the Hafsa al-Faluja School in Gaza's Jabalia as the shelter for the displaced was being used as a Hamas ''command and control centre", Al Jazeera reports.
The military failed to provide any evidence, saying that it targeted Hamas resistance fighters who had ''planned to attack Israel''.
According to the military, Hamas was using the al-Faluja School compound in Jabaliya to plan and carry out attacks against IDF troops and against Israel.
The school has been serving as a shelter for displaced Gazans, and Palestinian media report several casualties in the strike.
The IDF says it took steps to mitigate civilian harm in the strike, and accuses Hamas of โsystematicallyโ using civilian sites for terror.
One drone strike killed Suleiman Abu Lafi, who according to the IDF was involved in smuggling arms into Gaza and directed attacks in the West Bank. His brother, Abdullah Abu Lafi, a member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group, was also killed in the strike, the military says.
A separate strike carried out by fighter jets killed a Nukhba Force commander who invaded Israel during the massacre on October 7, according to the IDF.
Meanwhile, the IDF says that some 15 terror operatives were killed by troops of the 162nd Division in Rafah in the past day.
The IDF said that it struck Hezbollahโs central headquarters built under civilian buildings in the Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut, but did not say if Nasrallah was the target.
A Lebanese security source told Reuters that Hezbollahโs top officials are usually gathered at the site that was targeted.
Israel says, โYou donโt want peace, O Nasrallah? Then learn what it means to be at war!โ
[IsraelTimes] Security sources in Lebanon tell Reuters that the Israeli attack targeted an area where top Hezbollah officials are usually based. It was the heaviest attack in Beirut in almost a year of conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.

[IsraelTimes] The US was told about the impending strike in Beirut a few minutes before it was carried out, an official with knowledge of the details says. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in New York and approved the strike from there.

The Israeli Air Force carried out massive targeted airstrikes in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Friday evening, with the military saying it had struck Hezbollahโs main headquarters.
The attack shook the Lebanese capital and sent thick clouds of smoke over the city. There were reports of many casualties in the multiple strikes.
Unconfirmed Hebrew media reports said Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was targeted, leading to widespread speculation and conflicting reports as to his fate.
A source close to Hezbollah said the Israeli strikes flattened six buildings. It was the heaviest attack in Beirut in almost a year of conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.
A Lebanese security source told Reuters that Hezbollahโs top officials are usually gathered at the site that was targeted.
Underlining the extraordinary nature of the strike, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari gave an on-camera statement minutes after the strike. Hagari said the main command center was built underneath civilian buildings in the Dahiyeh suburb, a known Hezbollah stronghold in Beirut.
Leading Israeli television networks reported that Nasrallah was the target of the strikes, and that the attack had involved bombs totaling tens of tons of explosives.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left in the middle of a briefing with Israeli reporters after his speech at the United Nations as news emerged of the strike. Netanyahuโs military secretary whispered something in his ear, before he cut the briefing short and left with his advisors.
The prime minister later announced he would cut short his visit to the United States and would depart for Israel at 3 a.m. (Israel time).
The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah escalated sharply this week, with Israeli airstrikes on the terror group killing more than 700 people in Lebanon. The figure does not distinguish between combatants and civilians. Israel says many of the dead are Hezbollah fighters.
PREPARATIONS FOR GROUND OFFENSIVE
Earlier Friday, the Israeli military said ahead of a potential ground offensive against Hezbollah that it had โgreat confidenceโ in the armyโs ability to carry out a ground maneuver, following experience gained by troops during the past 11 months of fighting in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF indicated that a ground offensive in Lebanon had been fully planned out, and it was being practiced by troops while the fighting was ongoing on several fronts.
The plans included operations in areas near the border as well as deep within Lebanon, according to the military. Still, the IDF aims for such a ground operation to be as short as possible, officials have said.
The IDF also revealed on Friday that on three separate occasions amid the war it was ready to ramp up its offensive actions against Hezbollah, in an operation now known as Northern Arrows which was launched on Monday with nearly 2,000 munitions dropped by the Israeli Air Force on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon within 24 hours โ the most extensive operation carried out by the IAF.
The airstrikes, according to the military, have taken away many of Hezbollahโs rocket, missile, and drone capabilities that it had built up for 20 years, which in turn have now prevented harm to the Israeli home front.
Hezbollah has fired hundreds of rockets at Israel since the fighting escalated, causing several injuries and damage to several towns, but far less extensive than initially anticipated.
The IDF in previous years assessed that Hezbollah would potentially be able to launch thousands of rockets per day at the country during a full-scale war, causing hundreds of casualties. But in the past 11 months of fighting on the northern border, Hezbollahโs capabilities were slowly โpeeledโ away, according to the military.
In the past 10 days, since diverting its focus to Lebanon, the IDF said that it has made significant achievements, including killing top Hezbollah commanders, eliminating the leadership of the terror groupโs elite Radwan Force, and striking thousands of sites where Hezbollah stored arms.
But the IDF stressed on Friday that โthere is still more work to be done, and we cannot stop here.โ
Following the assassination of the head of Hezbollahโs aerial forces, Mohammed Srur, on Thursday, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi also said the military must continue to strike the terror group.
โWe need to continue attacking Hezbollah. We have been waiting for this opportunity for years,โ Halevi said following an assessment, in remarks provided by the IDF, hinting that the military was against a ceasefire at this stage.
Once the fighting is over, the IDF said that it would need to enforce any ceasefire agreement with firepower and prevent Hezbollah from re-establishing itself close to Israeli border communities.
Also on Friday, the IDF said it had completed the mobilization of two reserve brigades โ the Etzioni and Alon brigades โ that were sent to northern Israel to bolster troops there, amid the possibility of a ground offensive.

[IsraelTimes] The IDF is calling on Lebanese civilians near several buildings in the Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut, a known Hezbollah stronghold, to evacuate immediately.
Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDFโs Arabic-language spokesman, publishes maps alongside the announcement, which call on civilians to distance themselves at least 500 meters from three sites in Dahiyeh.
The sites are used by Hezbollah, according to the IDF.
โYou are located near Hezbollah properties, and for your safety and the safety of your loved ones, you are obliged to evacuate the buildings immediately and move away from them to a distance of no less than 500 meters,โ Adraee says.
IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says the military will soon strike underground Hezbollah sites in the Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut, and therefore warned civilians in the area to evacuate immediately.
โIn the coming hours we are going to strike strategic capability that Hezbollah placed underground, under three buildings in the heart of the Dahiyeh,โ he says
โOver the years, Hezbollah built and developed an array of coast-to-sea [missiles], that originate in Iran,โ Hagari says, noting the 2006 attack on the INS Hanit, killing four sailors. โNasrallah himself threatened Israelโs vital and strategic facilities at sea and near the coast.โ
โWe will now reveal how [Hezbollah] places strategic weapons under civilian buildings in the heart of the Dahiyeh,โ he continues.
โThese missiles are a real threat to world shipping lanes and strategic facilities of the State of Israel. In a short while, we will attack the weapons under the buildings. The intensity of the explosion of the weapons under the buildings, will lead to damage to the buildings and could lead to their collapse,โ Hagari adds.
The IDF issued evacuation warnings to three buildings and their surroundings a short while ago.

[IsraelTimes] IDF confirms โprecisionโ strike in Hezbollah stronghold, and hitting arms shipment on Syria-Lebanon border; Beirut says nearly 2 dozen Syrians killed in attack on Baalbek-area village
An Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... killed a senior Hezbollah leader in a strike on Beirutโs southern suburbs on Thursday afternoon, the military said, with fighting between Israel and the Iran-backed terror group showing little sign of slowing as an international bid to secure a ceasefire appeared to fall apart.
Sources said the strike in the Hezbollah stronghold of Dahiyeh targeted the head of Hezbollahโs aerial forces, largely responsible for the terror groupโs drone fleet along with cruise missiles and aerial defenses.
A Lebanese security source close to the group confirmed that the attack had been aimed at a Hezbollah commander, AFP reported.
An "Israeli strike targeted the commander of Hezbollahโs drone unit, Mohammed Srur, known as Abu Saleh, whose fate is still unclear," the source said, requesting anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the media.
Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... โs health ministry said two people were killed in the attack.
According to the military, Sarour directed and commanded numerous various aerial attacks on Israel, including explosive-laden drones and cruise missiles. In recent years, the IDF says, he led Hezbollahโs drone manufacturing, and established sites in Lebanon where the terror group would build explosive UAVs, some of which were under civilian buildings in Beirut.
Sarour joined Hezbollah in the 1980s, and held various positions, including in the terror groupโs air defenses, in the Aziz unit in the Radwan Force, and as Hezbollahโs attachรฉ to Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... sโ aerial forces, according to the military. During the war he advanced numerous explosive drone attacks on Israel, as well as surveillance drones, the IDF says.
The attack marked at least the fourth time Israel has targeted the groupโs top commanders in recent days, including a Tuesday strike on rocket and missile chief Ibrahim Qubaisi and a Friday attack on Ibrahim Aqil, the head of Hezbollahโs military operations. Both were killed.
Also Thursday, Israel said its warplanes had pounded targets across southern Lebanon and on the Syria-Lebanon border, and Hezbollah fired dozens of projectiles at northern Israeli cities.
A volley of some 45 rockets toward the coastal Israeli city of Acre Thursday morning ended a rare 19-hour lull in Hezbollah fire at northern Israel that had briefly bolstered hopes for an internationally brokered halt to the fighting. The IDF said several of the rockets were intercepted and the rest landed in open areas. Videos showed some projectiles splashing into the Mediterranean Sea.
Another 10 rockets were fired at Kiryat Shmona a short time later, the IDF said, and Hezbollah claimed it fired volleys of Falaq-2s at the city.
A single rocket launched toward Safed around the same time was swatted down by air defenses, the army said.
No injuries or damage were reported in the attacks.
Earlier, Lebanese officials said an overnight Israeli airstrike on a building housing Syrian workers and their families killed up to 23 people near Baalbek on the Lebanon-Syria border, marking one of the deadliest single strikes reported in the intensified air campaign against the Hezbollah terror group. Ali Qusas, the mayor of Younine, said most of the dead in the strike on a three-story building in the town were women and kiddies. Lebanon is home to around 1.5 million Syrians who fled civil war there, though thousands of Lebanese have fled to Syria in recent days.
There was no comment on the strike from Israel, which said it hit around 75 Hezbollah targets overnight in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, a Hezbollah stronghold near the Syrian frontier. The targets included terrorists, military buildings and weapons depots, the army said, publishing footage of the strikes.
The army said later Thursday it had also carried out a strike on the Lebanese-Syria border targeting a shipment of weapons slated to be used against Israel. Lebanese transport minister Ali Hamieh said the strike hit the Syrian end of a small bridge that provides a crossing into Lebanon. He did not immediately know whether the crossing was still usable.
Israel says it takes pains to avoid civilian casualties, warning Lebanese to leave areas where Hezbollah could be housing weapons before launching its intensified campaign on Monday, which largely targeted residential buildings. The IDF accuses Hezbollah of using civilians as human shields by hiding missiles and other weapons in homes.
On Wednesday, it published before-and-after images of homes it had struck in recent days in the villages of Maifadoun, Houmayri, Baraachit and Tayr Debba, which it said showed evidence that Hezbollah had stored munitions and rocket launchers inside them.
Israel says it has carried out sorties against over 2,000 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon since Monday, aiming to halt nearly a year of rocket attacks on northern Israel that the group began launching on October 8 in support of Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... Hezbollah says at least 512 of its fighters have been killed since fighting began on October 8. The IDF believes this toll to be much higher.
Over 600 people have been killed in Lebanon since Monday, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry, which does not differentiate between civilians and combatants.
[IsraelTimes] Syrian security sources say more than 22,000 people have crossed from Lebanon into Syria via two border crossings this week, as Israeli airstrikes pound Lebanon amid attacks on Israel by the Hezbollah terror group.
โMore than 6,000 Lebanese and around 15,000 Syriansโ have entered through the main Jdeidet Yabus border, known on the Lebanese side as the Masnaa crossing, one security source says, requesting anonymity, while a second security source reports that โaround 1,000 Lebanese and some 500 Syrians have passedโ through a second crossing.
The targets included buildings used by the terror group, rocket launchers used in attacks on northern Israel, weapon depots, and operatives, according to the military.
The strikes were carried out in both southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley.
Muhammad Hussein Sarur, the commander of Hezbollah's drone unit, was ELIMINATED today in Dahiya.
Previously, the Saudis had identified him as the key figure responsible for training the Houthis in Yemen to launch drone strikes into Saudi territory.

[Regnum] An MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle of the so-called US-led coalition came dangerously close to a Su-34 fighter jet of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria. This was reported on September 26 by Oleg Ignasyuk, deputy head of the Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides (CRPS) in the Arab Republic.
โThe Russian pilots, having demonstrated high professionalism, promptly took the necessary measures to prevent a collision,โ he added.
The incident took place in the Idlib province area.
Ignasyuk emphasized that with such actions the โcoalitionโ continues to create dangerous conditions for air accidents and exacerbates the situation in Syrian airspace.
According to the information provided by the Center for Strategic and Inter-Agency Cooperation, seven cases of violations by the โcoalitionโ of the provisions of the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019, related to drone flights not coordinated with Russia, were recorded in one day.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, earlier in September, Russian troops repelled an attempted attack by militants in the Syrian province of Idlib and killed one terrorist. The sabotage and reconnaissance group intended to penetrate the positions of Syrian government forces in the Maaret al-Ulia region.
On August 23, the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed three locations in Syria where militants had left the At-Tanf zone and taken refuge in hard-to-reach areas of the Syrian White Desert.

[GEO.TV] Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz on Thursday rejected proposals for a ceasefire with Hezbollah after the United States and France called for a 21-day halt in fighting that has killed hundreds in Lebanon and raised fears of a ground invasion.
"There will be no ceasefire in the north. We will continue to fight against the Hezbollah organisation with all our strength until victory and the safe return of the residents of the north to their homes," Katz said in a statement on the social media platform X.
The comments dashed hopes for a swift peaceful settlement, after Prime Minister Najib Mikati had expressed hope that a ceasefire could be reached soon in Lebanon, where hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes seeking safety.
Before the current proposal for a temporary Israel-Hezbollah truce to facilitate negotiations for a full ceasefire, disagreements between the sides sunk earlier efforts for an immediate resolution to the conflict, according to the Arabic-language, London-based news site Asharq Al-Awsat.
Citing an unnamed Lebanese official familiar with the negotiations, the outlet says the earlier proposal was focused on establishing a new mechanism for enforcing UN Security Council Resolution 1701 from 2006, which stipulates that Hezbollah must move some 30 kilometers north of the border with Israel.
However, Hezbollah only agreed to discuss this if it was linked to a ceasefire in Gaza, which Israel rejected, causing those talks to break down.
For those interested in the inside baseball from the America perspective, which ignores that theyโve been pushing Israel hard and openly for almost a year to preemptively surrender to first Hamas and now to Hezbollah, too::
Discussions then got underway on a temporary ceasefire during which a more permanent arrangement could be negotiated. This intended arrangement would be based on ongoing efforts by US envoy Amos Hochstein and on UN Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 Lebanon war, and also on the Gaza hostage-ceasefire proposal unveiled by Biden at the end of May, the TV report said.
This broad framework was intended to enable Israel to say it had separated the northern front crisis from Gaza, while Hezbollah could argue that it was ceasing its attacks because the Gaza war would be coming to an end.
Amid the talk of a ceasefire, some 25 rockets were launched from Lebanon at the Lower Galilee in the evening, setting off sirens in several towns and injuring one person.
According to the military, the rockets all struck open areas.
Paramedics treated a 45-year-old man who was moderately wounded by shrapnel in the attack, the Magen David Adom ambulance service said in a statement.
An Israeli Air Force drone struck the launcher used in the attack a short while later, the IDF said.
Overall Thursday, Hezbollah launched more than 175 rockets at northern Israel, while the Israeli military said fighter jets struck some 220 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon throughout the day. A military statement said the strikes in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley targeted buildings used by Hezbollah, rocket launchers used in attacks on northern Israel, weapon depots, and operatives.
In preparation for a further escalation of the conflict, troops of the IDFโs 7th Armored Brigade wrapped up a drill simulating a ground offensive in Lebanon, the military said.
Since Israel escalated its airstrikes on the Hezbollah terror group on Monday, more than 630 people have been killed in Lebanon, according to the countryโs health ministry, which does not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
