Sudanese army repels major RSF attack on El Fasher of North Darfur - Sudan Tribune
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese army said on Saturday it had repelled a major attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state.

The RSF had intensified its attacks on El Fasher in recent days, causing civilian casualties and prompting many residents to flee.

''Our forces crushed a major attack by the RSF militia on El Fasher today,'' Brigadier General Nabil Abdallah, an army spokesperson, said in a statement.

The commander of the joint force's operations, General Abboud Adam Khater, told Sudan Tribune that the attack was the most violent mostly peaceful the city had seen since the conflict began. He said the RSF had mobilized all its forces in an attempt to take the city but were met with heavy resistance.

The army said it had destroyed more than 12 RSF vehicles and seized about 20 others. It also claimed that hundreds of RSF fighters were killed. Sudan Tribune could not independently verify these claims. The RSF could not be reached for comment.

Eyewitnesses reported that the festivities began when RSF fighters infiltrated several neighbourhoods in El Fasher, committing abuses against fleeing residents. The army said the RSF attacked the city from three directions, using thousands of mercenaries and modern weapons.

The fighting lasted for about six hours before the RSF were pushed back. In response to their defeat, the RSF resorted to shelling the city from outside, targeting camps for displaced people, hospitals, and other civilian infrastructure.

Volunteers in El Fasher accused the RSF of killing civilians based on their ethnicity. Ahmed Mustafa, a volunteer, told Sudan Tribune that at least three civilians were summarily executed in two neighbourhoods.

The health sector in El Fasher is on the brink of collapse, with hospitals struggling to cope with the influx of casualties and a severe shortage of medical supplies.

#1  First the Sudan Tribune is pro-Arab government. Second. The road and rail from Khartoum to El Fasher are interdicted and the Government troops can only be replenished by air. Meanwhile the RSF can receive supplies through Libya and thence into east Darfur. The US State Department has once again snuck the camel's nose into the tent and is working for a cease-fire. In support of the Arab Government, what it hopes to achieve in the long run is moot. In fact, Washington has produced nothing but a succession of failures ever since the Islamists took control of government in 1989.

Sudanese army repulses RSF attack on Gedaref-Al Jazirah border - Sudan Tribune
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The Sudan

South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese army on Saturday repelled an attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the border between Gedaref and Al Jazirah states, a local official said.

The RSF has been mobilizing in the border area for weeks and has been accused of looting and displacing civilians.

''The armed forces, the intelligence service, and mobilized forces repelled an RSF attack near Wad Faqisa,'' said Othman Abdallah, the executive director of Al Faw locality.

He said the army destroyed about 15 RSF vehicles and killed a large number of their fighters. He also said the army had made significant advances towards Al Jazirah state, but did not provide specifics.

The border area has seen intermittent festivities between the two sides for months. The army launched an operation to retake Al Jazirah state in April, but it was quickly halted after the RSF ambushed its forces.

Afrique Media: Ukrainian special forces used drones in battles against Malian army
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Ukrainian special forces used unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in battles against the Malian army on the territory of this African state, the Afrique Media TV channel reported, citing independent experts.

On its page on the social network X, the TV channel cites the results of the inspection of the drones shot down by the Malian military. It is claimed that the experts confirmed that Ukraine used kamikaze drones in Mali. They note that the devices were manufactured in Ukrainian workshops from American-made parts.

The channel's military correspondent Adrian Boet suggested that NATO had enlisted Ukraine to strike Mali, trying to prevent the African country from restoring its sovereignty.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, in early August it became known that terrorists from the alliance of armed separatist groups CSP-DPA Mali were trained in Ukraine. The organization's representative Mohamed Elmaouloud Ramadan told journalists that Malian militants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were trained to use kamikaze drones. He added that the alliance has established ties not only with Ukraine, but also with the United States, France and other countries.

On August 4, the Malian government announced its decision to sever diplomatic relations with Kiev. The Malian leadership took this step because of the support that the Kiev regime provides to armed terrorists. In addition to Mali, Niger announced its severance of relations with Ukraine.

On August 7, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the Kiev regime had decided to open a “second front” in Africa because it was unable to defeat Russia on the battlefield. She explained that Ukraine was indulging terrorist groups in African countries friendly to Moscow.

Daesh attack in east DR Congo kills five
[ARABNEWS] The ISIS group has grabbed credit for an attack in eastern DR Congo that killed five people, according to a US-based intelligence group.

The SITE group, which specializes in monitoring radical terrorist groups, said on Saturday the ISIS Central Africa Province (ISCAP) had grabbed credit for the attack in the Tshopo province.

''The ISIS stated that fighters shot at a militia post in a village in Tshopo, killing three personnel, then turned their guns on Christians inside the village,'' the group said in a statement.

The statement added that the group had also set fire to more than 50 houses.
SITE also said in its statement that the ISCAP has ''not previously carried out operations'' in the Tshopo area.

The ISIS group portrays the ADFAllied Democratic Forces
...established in the early 1990s through an agreement between portions of Uganda’s Salaf Tabliq Islamic sect and the National Army for the Liberation of Uganda (NALU), who said they had been sidelined by Museveni’s policies. At the time, the rebels staged deadly attacks in Ugandan villages and the capital, including a 1998 attack in which 80 students were massacred. A Ugandan military operation later forced the ADF into eastern Congo. The ADF has since established ties with the Islamic State group. The ADF has received funding from the Government of Sudan, which has also provided supplies and training. The ADF may also have received funding from the illegal mining and logging industries of the DRC....
— as its central African branch.

The ADF pledged allegiance in 2019 to the ISIS which has grabbed credit for a number of ADF attacks and describes the ADF as its regional affiliate.

The group, originally made up of mainly Moslem Ugandan rebels, has established a presence over the past three decades in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. Bangladesh
Shibir cadre Nasir Uddin released from prison after 26 years
[Dhaka Tribune] After 26 years, Chittagong’s notorious Shibir cadre Nasir Uddin, also known as Shibir Nasir, 59, has been released from prison.

He was freed from Chittagong Central Jail at 7pm on Sunday, Chittagong Central Jail Senior Jail Superintendent Muhammad Manjur Hossain confirmed.

He said: "Nasir Uddin had two pending cases. After the bail documents for these cases were submitted to the court and reviewed, he was released."

Nasir was a defendant in 36 cases. The cases against him included the murders of Principal Gopal Krishna Muhuri, the Hathazari triple murder, and the killing of Zamil Uddin at Chittagong Polytechnic.

However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
in most cases, his involvement could not be proven.

He was acquitted in 31 of these high-profile cases due to a lack of witnesses.

He has already served sentences for two cases.

Nasir gained notoriety in the 1990s by instilling fear across Chittagong. Due to his involvement in the politics of the Islami Chhatra Shibir
... the student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh...
, he was widely known in Chittagong as "Shibir Nasir," according to media reports.

In 1997, a significant clash occurred during a police operation in the Chawkbazar area of the city to apprehend him, which became a hot topic in Chittagong.

Later, in April 1998, police arrested Nasir from a student dormitory at Chittagong College.

It is widely believed that although Nasir had the opportunity to be released from prison in recent years due to bail in most of the cases against him, he avoided applying for bail in the remaining cases out of fear of "crossfire" by RAB and police.

In 2022, when "crossfires" appeared to have ceased, he sought bail in those cases, but the court denied his requests.

Trump's campaign confirms it was hacked, blames Iran for data breach
[NYPOST] Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
's campaign said Saturday that it had been hacked and blamed Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
for breaking into its data, days after Microsoft revealed the terror-backing nation has been ramping up online activity in an attempt to influence the US election.

Trump front man Steven Cheung made the announcement following report from Politico that said the outlet had received anonymous emails that included documents from inside Trump's campaign operation.

The campaign cited the report from Microsoft on Friday that said a presidential campaign had been targeted with an email phishing attack in June, according to reports.

"On Friday, a new report from Microsoft found that Iranian hackers broke into the account of a ’high ranking official’ on the U.S. presidential campaign in June 2024, which coincides with the close timing of President Trump’s selection of a vice presidential nominee," he continued.

"The Iranians know that President Trump will stop their reign of terror just like he did in his first four years in the White House," he added.

Cheung declined to say if there was further information to substantiate Iran’s involvement.

He noted that the hack came "after recent reports of an Iranian plot to assassinate President Trump around the same time as the Butler, PA tragedy." Trump was maimed July 13 in an liquidation attempt during a rally in the western Pennsylvania town.

Politico reported it began receiving purported communications on July 22 from a "senior Trump campaign official" that included vetting documents related to Trump’s pick for Vice President, Ohio Sen. JD Vance.

The documents, which insiders confirmed to Politico are authentic, detailed Vance’s record and past statements and "potential vulnerabilities" and were dated from February.

The emails were from an anonymous AOL account from a person who identified himself only as "Robert."

When asked how he came into possession of the sensitive materials, he gave an ominous response.

"I suggest you don’t be curious about where I got them from. Any answer to this question, will compromise me and also legally restricts you from publishing them," Politico reported.

US intelligence has reportedly found increasing evidence that Iran has been working on retaliation plots against Trump related to the 2020 liquidation of Qassem Soleimani
, the leader of the elite Quds Force of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.

Trump maintained Soleimani was the architect of attacks on US troops in the Middle East that resulted in hundreds of casualties.

#8  National People's Radio did a piece today on the Trump campaign's claim that it was hacked. The story concluded with the now standard "Trump offered no evidence" meme.

The next story, literally the next story, was about an "intelligence service" report that the Iranians ran an email phishing campaign against one of the presidential candidates in 2024. 2024, if I am not mistaken, is this year. No mention of which candidate that might have been.

Israel orders more evacuations in Gaza after school strike
[GEO.TV] Israel expanded evacuation orders in Khan Younis in the southern Gazoo

In Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip, the evacuation instruction covered districts in the centre, east and west, making it one of the largest such orders in the 10-month-old conflict, two days after tanks returned to the east of the city.

The announcement was posted on X and in text and audio messages to residents' phones: "For your own safety, you must evacuate immediately to the newly created humanitarian zone. The area you are in is considered a dangerous combat zone."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran reduces sentences of journalists who covered Amini's death
[ARABNEWS] Iranian courts have reduced jail terms for two female journalists charged with collaborating with the United States, their lawyers told reformist newspapers on Sunday.

Elaheh Mohammadi, 37, and Niloufar Hamedi, 31, are out on bail after more than a year in Tehran's Evin prison for their coverage of the September 2022 death in jug of Mahsa Amini which had sparked nationwide protests.
In January, Iran's judiciary said it had launched new proceedings against the two women for posing for pictures without the mandatory headscarf upon their release that month.

Two separate appeals courts in Tehran ruled to acquit the women of the charge of collaboration with the United States, the lawyers were quoted as saying by Shargh and Ham Mihan dailies.

Originally, Mohammadi had been sentenced to six years in jail while Hamedi had been handed a seven-year sentence, according to the judiciary.
The pair were also each given five-year sentences for collusion and conspiring against state security and one year for propaganda against the Islamic republic.

The lawyers said these sentences were upheld by the appeals court and would be served concurrently, adding, however, that they hope the journalists would be freed under an amnesty announced last year by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...>
.

''Considering that the remaining two accusations meet the full conditions of the amnesty directive of 2023, we hope that Elaheh Mohammadi will be pardoned, and this case will be closed by issuing a suspension of execution order,'' Mohammadi's lawyer Shahab Mirlohi told Ham Mihan newspaper.
Hamedi's lawyers issued a similar statement.

Hamedi, a photographer for Shargh, was arrested less than a week after Amini's death after posting a picture of the young woman's grieving family on social media.

Ham Mihan news hound Mohammadi was arrested after going to Amini's hometown of Saqez, in the western Iranian province of Kurdistan, to cover her funeral which turned into a demonstration.

5 pro-Iran fighters killed in Syria strike: monitor, sources
[NEWARAB] Five Iran-backed fighters were killed on Sunday in a strike in Syria's east, near the Iraqi border, a war monitor said, adding it was not clear yet who was behind the attack.

"Five pro-Iranian fighters were killed and others were maimed, some severely%u2026 after an unknown drone targeted the military vehicle they were in%u2026 near the Syrian-Iraqi border," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The strike occurred in Syria's eastern Deir Az-Zour province, where Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
wields significant influence and which is regularly targeted by Israel and the United States, according to the Britannia-based monitor with a network of sources inside Syria.

Rooters reported that an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
on a vehicle in eastern Syria near the mostly non-existent border with Iraq killed at least five fighters from pro-Iran units, according to two security sources in the region.

One of the sources said the strike was carried out by a drone, but could not specify which military the drone belonged to.

The second source said it targeted fighters as they changed shifts at a checkpoint.
