[TikTok] BLUF: The path of feminism led to women who act like men — how they think, work, approach relationships — now some men are copying that in the other direction. But she says it better.

#8  My husband and I just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. We've loved, respected, supported, and challenged each other for more than half a century.

I am not fond of nor support what 4th-5th wave feminism became. But before the men here become TOO congratulatory, I invite you to view such things as nearly a century of movies and other media that portrayed women as silly little things.

Or read 19th century works which explicitly state that women cannot be educated or trusted to do things like vote or manage finances.

Those were real - and they were pernicious and finally triggered a real backlash to the detriment of many, not least children.

#9  Detriment that has now extend to, inter alia, our fundamental military capability.

And that in turn is enabled by systemic corruption inside the Beltway, which I saw up close during my last stint in that ecosystem in which I interacted with DHS, FBI, DOD branches, the IC, and several congressional staff. I resigned and walked away from my career rather than collaborate.

Our cultural rot goes deep. Failing to respect and uphold ALL truth - including, along the way, the truth about the capabilities that men and women share as well as those ways in which they differ - has fostered the dangerous rot we're facing.

#12  Video Games today are media. Interactive media, but media nontheless. Even pinball games tell a story.

No Big Name game producer, famous for sports, has put women into Major League Baseball. Not a separate softball mode (which actually has a lot of potential especially with modern force and directional sensitive controllers), but in The Majors. IIRC, the promo had a woman playing short stop. You know, like Alcides Escobar, Ozzie Smith, Derek mf'n Jeter. Short and 3rd, players have to throw at least as hard and accurately as top-tier NFL quarterbacks.

But there's Kim over there, with a shift towards 3rd but eying 2nd to cover the steal, with her star on the cheek face paint and her pony tail which totally doesn't get in the way of tracking down a short Texas Leaguer.

Big Video Game seems to have been put in a collar by middle age women feminists and gay men, all selling this very real, very harmful lie to younger women.

All you have to do is work hard, be a girl boss, and you too can be as good, if not better, than boys at sports. Or this one, you don't have to study or prepare for unknown situations, all you have to do is use your girl magic and you solve the problem, just like in the movies. That one is actually worse, because it is used in unmeasurable circumstances like social interactions.

Its good to see some waking up and even push back.

I'm open, I'm neutral, I hated all the players, dude brahs I think they kids call them now?, in Jersey Shore.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Gen Z say they're living a double life online - survey reveals one in five across generations have a secret online persona
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Nearly half of Gen Z admit to living a double life online, research revealed today.

Experts who quizzed 2,000 Americans found 46 per cent of the 16 to 24-year-olds felt there was a significant difference between their online and real-world selves.

One in five people across all generations also admitted to having a secret internet persona that no one else knew about.

Experts behind the study today urged people to strike up more conversations between friends and family 'to understand each other's worlds', but cautioned the survey was merely observational.

Gerald Youngblood, chief marketing officer for North America at tech company Lenovo, who carried out the research, said: 'Around one in five of the world’s young people have a mental health condition, reflecting a global crisis.

The 2,000 people surveyed were split evenly by generation, Lenovo said.

Experts found 38 per cent of Millennials, born between 1981 and 1996, 18 per cent of Gen X, born between 1965 and 1980, and eight per cent of Baby Boomers, born between 1955 and 1964, admitted their online personality was vastly different from how they present themselves in real life.

Meanwhile almost a third of Gen Z, born between 1997 and 2012, said they kept their online world hidden from family. Just over a quarter of Millennials said the same.

More than half of Gen Z also claimed to find it easier to express themselves online than offline, compared to 40 per cent of respondents overall and fewer than a quarter of Boomers.

Experts also found, however, that Gen Z aren't necessarily happier maintaining a double life online.

The survey showed 68 per cent of Gen Z respondents felt a disconnect between who they are online and off - with those who experience it saying it's led to feelings of anxiety (18 per cent), loneliness (17 per cent) and depression (15 per cent).

When asked which topics they felt more comfortable sharing online than off, about a fifth said they would be more likely to share their ambitions on the internet compared to face-to-face, with 22 per cent mentioning their likes or dislikes, 19 per cent their beliefs — political or otherwise — 17 per cent their fears and insecurities and 15 per cent their opinions and values.

The study also revealed that 61 per cent of Gen Z said they wished they could have challenging conversations with friends and family offline.

Of the 23 per cent of younger adults who feel more at ease being themselves online, 27 per cent said they believe they won't face judgement on the internet, while 22 per cent are unafraid to be authentic and 23 per cent have formed stronger relationships online.

Yet, 54 per cent of Gen Z said that speaking to a trained professional would boost their confidence to communicate more openly with their loved ones in the real world.

Better Late Than Never.... or Is It Too Late?
Long, thoughtful, like many here works/has worked behind the UNCL curtain.
[X via CFP] I just donated $300k to Trump. I’m prepared to lose friends. Here’s why.

Back in 2016 I had drunk the media Kool-Aid and was scared out of my mind about Trump. As such I donated to Hilary Clinton’s campaign and voted for her.

By 2020 I was disillusioned and didn’t vote — I didn’t like either option.

Now, in 2024, I believe this is one of the most important elections of my lifetime, and I’m supporting Trump.

I know that I’ll lose friends for this. Some will refuse to do business with me. The media will probably demonize me, as they have so many others before me. But despite this, I still believe it’s the right thing to do.

Afghanistan
'The people who control the country.' How Afghanistan has changed under the Taliban
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Kirill Semeov
Russia is determined to normalize relations, and will say anything to do so. Count up the fictions as you read, dearReader.
[REGNUM] The problems of Afghanistan are known, but the real power there lies with the Taliban movement and this cannot be ignored, Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the press following his visit to Uzbekistan on May 28.

“There are problems in Afghanistan, they are undeniable, everyone is well aware of them. The question of how to build relationships with the current government is another question. But we have to build it somehow, these are the people who control the country, control the territory of the country. They are the power in Afghanistan today,” the Russian President said.

A day earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also made it clear that Russia is going to remove the Taliban from the list of terrorists, on which it is still included.

“Kazakhstan recently made a decision, which we are also going to make, to remove them from the list of terrorist organizations. Moreover, the UN Security Council did not declare the Taliban as a terrorist organization.
It only takes one veto, or the threat of one.
There are, in my opinion, 12–15 specific characters on the list of terrorists,” Lavrov told reporters.

Initially, the Taliban came under international sanctions and were included in terrorist lists not so much because of their own actions, but because of their support for other terrorist organizations. For example, Al-Qaeda, whose representatives received asylum in Afghanistan.
Al Qaeda is still there, as are all their little buddies. And ISIS-K is one of the leading exporters of jihad among the ISIS franchises. Some of these have connections, and have been causing trouble, in Russia.
Of course, the Taliban was and remains a fundamentalist movement, but both now and during the period of the first Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA - the Taliban state) distanced itself from obvious terrorist activities.

The Taliban, unlike Al-Qaeda and ISIS, have never advocated the dismantling of the world order and “global jihad.”
But they support — and intermarry with — those who do. Tomaytoes, tomahtoes.
During their first statehood in the 1990s, they maintained diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Pakistan. Neighboring Turkmenistan was then close to recognizing them.

At the moment, it has also become obvious that all concerns about the hypothetical expansion of the Taliban into neighboring countries have remained at the level of speculation and speculation. The Taliban movement has demonstrated in practice that it intends to build good neighborly relations with all its neighbors.
They’e still at the consolidation phase, and can’t afford external wars as well as the internal ones.
For Moscow, of course, the positive attitude of the Afghan authorities towards Russia itself and its approaches to international affairs also plays a role.

As political scientist and orientalist Mir-Ali Askerov, who recently returned from Afghanistan, told IA Regnum, “there has never been a situation in which, when you say that you are from Russia, it causes some kind of negativity, that is, it either causes at least something neutral, positive, or strictly positive attitude. The Afghans express their gratitude for the fact that you visited their country and, in general, offer their help there in every possible way.”
I assume Mr. Askerov is male.
Askerov emphasized that Afghans look with hope at the confrontation between Russia and the collective West, with the hope that Russia “will be able to withstand this onslaught, this pressure and will be able to achieve a revision of this monopolar world order.”
No doubt.
YOU CAN WALK AT NIGHT
As Russian officials have rightly noted, the Taliban are making good progress in nation-building.

Although the country has serious economic problems and terrorist groups continue to operate, the risk of political and economic collapse is assessed as minimal, and the country has also managed to overcome crime and make the lives of citizens safer.

According to Askerov, the crime situation has become much better than during the reign of Ashraf Ghani and the Americans, and during that period he also had the opportunity to visit Afghanistan.

“ You can now walk around Kabul at night, during the day, at any time of the day and in any area, it is absolutely safe. The only problem is pickpockets, but this is only a problem of large markets,” said the orientalist.
Again, Mr. Askerov is not female.
At the same time, security is ensured in a much “softer” way than during the American occupation.

“Of course, there are many guards and checkpoints in the city, but they do not create the impression of a police state, as during the American presence with rough searches and searches of everyone. On the streets you can also see employees of the ministry of “commanding what is good and prohibiting what is bad” (morality police), but they act unobtrusively, politely and rather try to explain or explain something rather than prohibit and detain, so this does not cause any rejection or conflicts,” Askerov noted.
No, no, perish the thought.
At the same time, he said, some problems remain, despite the optimism of Afghans:

“The population perceives current changes positively and looks to the future with hope. But, of course, Afghans live poorly, and even the wealthiest live very modestly by our standards; economic problems have not gone away.”

Nevertheless, the Taliban still managed to somewhat stabilize the economy.

Afghanistan's foreign trade fell after they seized power. However, despite the decline in imports, most of the country's income now comes from taxes.

As experts note, the Afghan economy is no longer in a state of free fall and appears to be frozen in a precarious balance, albeit at the lowest level.

Modest positive trends include lower inflation, exchange rate stability, some recovery in imports, a more than doubling of exports,
…opium and heroin, right?
stable or slightly increased labor demand and continued wage levels.

Of course, the problem of Afghan drug trafficking remains.
Opium and heroin, yes.
However, it arose long before the Taliban came to power and was “chronic” for this country.
The Taliban took control of it during their first tenure, and never let go.
Nevertheless, the IEA leadership is making efforts to limit the production of opiates.

Thus, according to a 2023 UN report, poppy cultivation in southern Afghanistan fell by more than 80% as a result of Taliban campaigns to stop its use in opium production. For example, the decline in poppy cultivation in Helmand province has dropped by 99%.

In November 2023, a UN report found that throughout Afghanistan, poppy cultivation had fallen by more than 95%, depriving the country of its status as the world's largest opium producer.
The warehouses were full to bursting. No point in producing more until that supply is used up and the price increases.
Although Iran does not agree with such optimistic assessments, since, according to Iranian officials, supplies of opium and heroin from Afghanistan to their country continued in large volumes.
See?
The Taliban have also made progress in dialogue and taking into account the interests of ethno-confessional minorities living in the country, primarily the Shiite Hazaras, who were able to gain access to some leadership positions, which may indicate the movement’s readiness to follow the path of forming an inclusive government.
Tokens to shut up the rubes.
However, problems remain with the Uzbek and Tajik minorities, who are dissatisfied with the fact that their representatives, not associated with the Taliban, are still not represented in the IEA power structures.

"RED TROOPS"
An important factor in recognizing the Taliban and removing terrorist labels from the movement is its success in suppressing the activity and presence of international terrorist organizations such as ISIS and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.

It is significant that the Americans, who spent 20 years trying to eradicate the brainchild of Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan, were forced to recognize this success. But as soon as they left, the Taliban themselves solved this problem.

In particular, as Christy Abizaid, director of the US National Counterterrorism Center, stated on September 11, 2023, "al-Qaeda is in its historic decline in Afghanistan and Pakistan and its resurgence is unlikely."

She also cited declassified data that the group had "lost access to targets, leadership talent, group cohesion, grassroots commitment, and supportive local environment." She said the terrorist organization's ability to threaten from Afghanistan " is at its lowest level" since it moved there in 1998.

The Taliban were also able to suppress the activity of ISIS and its local affiliate ISIS-K in Afghanistan.
Within Afghanistan, anyway. Or perhaps just reports of their activities. But not abroad.
After a significant increase in their activity, due to the security vacuum created in some parts of the country after the US withdrawal, the Taliban changed this dynamic, depriving the terrorists of control over certain territories that they were able to acquire by following the Americans fleeing the country.

Their activities were dealt a blow, and activity over the past year has decreased significantly, which was noted in the relevant reports of international structures.

It is noted that the Taliban were able to conduct a successful campaign against ISIS-X and eliminated most of the sleeper cells that were ready to continue terrorist attacks in Afghan cities. After a surge in the number of terrorist attacks in the first months after the Taliban came to power, their number begins to decline as a result of counter-terrorism measures by the IEA security structures.

In particular, in 2022–2023. the number of terrorist attacks and other attacks by ISIS-X has decreased significantly. If in the first year of Taliban rule (2021-2022) there were 314 attacks and assaults, then in 2022-2023. only 69 - that is, less than during any period of activity of the group in Afghanistan since its inception.

The Taliban’s fight against ISIS is systematic and consistent; for this purpose, special counter-terrorism forces have been created in Afghanistan that can effectively counter it.

This counter-terrorism unit is called "Red Squad", or "Sara Kheta" in Pashto.
... also known as Red Unit, Red Brigade, Blood Unit, Danger Group, and Taliban Special Forces Unit. The Taliban’s special forces/shock troops unit was first deployed in Sangin town in Helmand province in 2016, then claimed a victory against ISIS-Khurasan in 2018. They were most active in Kunduz, Baghlan, and Faryab Provinces.
It is divided into several battalions of 300–350 men, selected by field commanders from among the fighters based on their discipline, dedication and skills. Each battalion operates in a separate province, but within the Red Squad there is also a battalion-sized group of the most trained elite forces known as Badri 313.
The Badri 313 Battalion was trained by the Haqqani network and based at Salahaddin Ayyubi Military Operations Academy. There is evidence it was at one point al Qaeda's military arm in Pakistan, with members gleaned from the Taliban and Pakistan’s pet jihadi groups including Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Jundallah, used for nasty attacks on the Pakistani army under the leadership of Ilyas Kashmiri (until 2011) followed by Shah Sahib.
In emergency situations, units work together to cover a multi-province area.

It was the “Red Detachments” that defeated the ISIS in the province of Nangarhar, which was a stronghold of terrorists. After which part of the “Red Detachment” battalions was transferred to the province of Kunar, which was soon also cleared of ISIS militants.

Of course, it is too early to talk about a complete victory over ISIS in Afghanistan.

But a significant decrease in terrorist activity allows the Taliban movement to establish economic ties with foreign partners and organize business trips to this country.

Therefore, Russia, acting proactively, can economically enter Afghanistan before others, officially recognizing the Taliban movement as the legitimate Afghan government.

Before this, there were many factors that forced our entrepreneurs to act with caution in Afghanistan, including the fear of persecution for justifying and financing terrorism.

By removing the Taliban from the terrorist lists, Moscow can speed up the implementation of economic projects in Afghanistan and begin absolutely legal, not “gray” investments.

EvaVlaardingerbroek - 'The great replacement theory is no longer a theory'
[YouTube] Eva Lotte Louise Joan Vlaardingerbroek (born 3 September 1996) is a Dutch far-right activist,[1] known for propagating conspiracy theories and expressing antifeminist sentiments in the past. She has studied philosophy of law, and has been particularly vocal about issues surrounding farmers in the Dutch farmers' protests. She is noted for her criticism of the Dutch government under prime minister Mark Rutte.

She has made numerous appearances with American conservative pundit Tucker Carlson on his current affairs program Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News and with Mark Steyn on his eponymous British talk show on the GB News. During Carlson's show, she claimed that the Dutch farming crisis is not a result of the nitrogen crisis, instead promoting the Great Replacement Theory, a recurrent theme in her speeches and discussions. WIKI of course.

Fan of Mannerheim
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from an article which appeared in dzen.ru by A. Stepnov.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] In the context of the current heated discussion about the personality and views of the fascist philosopher Ivan Ilyin,
…Wikipedia thinks he was a Russian monarchist, but there is the ahistorical view that anyone to the right of Stalin is a fascist…
it would be very productive to take a separate historical episode and see what this person wrote on this issue. Then evaluate his position from the point of view of both the accuracy of his forecasts (he is considered a “great thinker”!), and from the point of view of patriotic values. Even without using the methods of class analysis...

I chose the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-40 as such an episode. What did Professor Ilyin write about it?

Firstly, even before the start of the conflict, this man confidently stated that the USSR would not succeed and the country would not be able to field a massive army. Because:

“Trained” millions are not trained; they are only listed on paper. And mistrust, spy mania, poor quality engineering and a general desire for radical change reign everywhere. It would be downright fatal for communists to put weapons in the hands of the masses...” (c) I. A. Ilyin. Hitler and Stalin. / 07/11/1939. / Luzerner Landbote.

Let's just state that although the Red Army had many problems, nothing like this happened. In both 1939 and 1941, the communists did not hesitate to put weapons into the hands of the masses. And the masses justified their trust.

Alas, gentlemen, even this episode clearly shows that the prophet from your Ilyin is like a bullet from a well-known substance...

Secondly, in his publications dedicated to the Soviet-Finnish war, Ivan Ilyin many times calls our country an aggressor: “It acted as an aggressor,” or “in the long, tedious struggle for world power, which began in 1917, the Bolshevik aggressor discovered a huge gap...”

In an article he wrote after the conclusion of the peace treaty, the “great Russian thinker” states:

“The Soviet state began this war as typical "aggressor". There was no talk of any claims or hostility on the part of Finland, which until the last moment demonstrated balance, correctness and even greater readiness to accommodate. It was about Stalin’s desire not to negotiate with Finland, but to defeat a small country with a swift revolutionary onslaught.”

We simply state that the “Russian patriot” Ivan Ilyin completely repeats the theses of Finnish nationalist propaganda. Although he would be ashamed not to know that objectively the roots of this armed conflict go deep into history, to 1811, when Emperor Alexander I, after annexing the Grand Duchy of Finland to the Russian Empire, for some reason transferred the entire Vyborg province to it. A territory with a mixed population, which by that time had been directly part of Russia for a hundred years.

Further, as I already wrote in the publication ABOUT THE REASONS OF THE FINNISH WAR, the following picture emerges: there is objectively a territorial problem between the two countries. But instead of establishing good neighborly relations, Finland, or rather a significant part of its ruling class after 1917:

- Demands fantastic territorial concessions from Russia;

- Organizes several armed incursions into Russian territory;

- Gives the opportunity to world powers, first Germany, then England, to station troops on their territory that can or even attack our country;

- And as a “cherry on the cake”: it encourages large-scale terrorist activities on the territory of a neighboring country;

Moreover, all this is based on the thesis put forward by the President of Finland P. E. Svinhuvud: “Any enemy of Russia must always be a friend of Finland.”

But for Ivan Ilyin it all comes down to “revolutionary onslaught” and “Soviet aggression”! This “statist” simply does not understand, or does not want to understand, that we are talking about the security of the second capital of our state, the largest industrial and cultural center.

Here his level corresponds to the most primitive anti-Soviet propaganda, above which the “deep thinker” and former resident of St. Petersburg-Petrograd, as it turns out, is simply not able to rise!

Moreover, he does not know, or pretends not to know, about the aggressive plans to create a “Greater Finland” with the inclusion of the territory of Karelia and the Kola Peninsula.

Yes, the refined liberal Pavel Milyukov, who uttered the phrase “I feel sorry for the Finns, but I am for the Vyborg province,” is a much greater patriot than Ivan Ilyin!

But our “patriot” many times admires both the bloody executioner Karl Mannerheim and the Finnish nationalists: “The living spirit of Finnish patriots wins.” Or “a real strategist spoke out against this communist “horde strategy,” stoically defending himself on the Karelian Isthmus and maneuvering with shock force on the eastern and northern borders.”

By the way, praising Mannerheim, under whose leadership Finland lost two wars (More details about the paradoxes of perception of the results of the Finnish war can be read here), did the “Russian patriot” Ivan Ilyin know about the “Vyborg massacre”, during which many Russian people died? As a resident of Petrograd in 1918, he could not help but know this. Nevertheless...

And vice versa, here is what Ivan Ilyin writes about our army:

“So, in the Russian army, the “free soldier’s initiative”, once demanded by the old man Suvorov, is deprived of all spiritual consciousness, then instilled with fear, forcibly introduced to the dominant ideology and drowned in uncomplaining, slavish drill. Conscience and honor - the concepts of the old school - are abolished, they are replaced by hypocritical “revolutionary pathos”.

“As a result, the soldier lost the feeling of being a defender of his homeland. For neither the expropriated slave of the state, nor the internationally trained Marxist has a homeland.”

“A person who is not free and collectivized is not a warrior. Taken individually, he is a slave. In a collective, he is a horde. No machine can save where the spirit and heart fail.”

This is from the issue of “Neue Zércher Nachrichten” dated January 27, 1940.

If anyone doesn’t understand, the “great Russian philosopher” calls our ancestors slaves, a horde, people with abolished conscience and honor.
If this is not Russophobia, then what is it???

Moreover, Ilyin does not have a single drop of sympathy for our soldiers, only anger! And our deep “thinker,” when describing the course of the military conflict, trustingly repeats the myths of enemy propaganda:

Do we need to prove to anyone that in this passage our “deep thinker” is retelling complete nonsense. Despite the fact that the battle of Suomussalmi became a tragedy for the Red Army, out of 14 thousand soldiers and commanders of the 44th division, according to various estimates, 1,000 to 1,500 thousand died, 2,200 thousand were missing, 1,500 thousand were wounded. According to their data, about 1,500 people were captured by the Finns.

That is, the majority of the soldiers of the Soviet 44th Rifle Division fought even in the most difficult conditions. Here Ilyin is simply slandering! And on top of that, he gloats over the failure of his country!

Well, he couldn't know all the details of those events. But our thinker also demonstrates a complete lack of critical thinking!

What happens - the Finns sent the captured prisoners back to Russia... The Finnish command are complete idiots who do not understand that these soldiers will quickly be brought to their senses and sent back into battle? Does military analyst Ilyin, sitting in a warm office, even understand what he is writing about? After all, such nonsense puts him on a par with such a famous thinker of our time as Yulia Latynina!

As you know, in March 1940, the Finnish leadership still had to admit defeat and peace was concluded. But Ilyin got away with it too! Like, this is still a victory, because otherwise the Finns would all be sent to Siberia. Apparently to remove snow:

“If he had won, the fate of the brave people would have been sealed. There were rumors about plans to resettle Finns to Siberia, and they could not be considered “incredible”... But you can be sure that the heroic Finns would have suffered a cruel fate if they were defeated. And now these plans have been thwarted.”

Again, the most ridiculous lie, based at least on the fact of the creation of the Finnish government of Kuusinen, the Finnish People's Army, and then the Karelo-Finnish SSR. However, Ivan Ilyin hates our country so much that he is ready to repeat any absurdities.

Let's summarize. Citizens admirers of Ivan Ilyin, using real facts I tried to show that your idol in 1939-40:

- He put forward some fantastic forecasts, which, naturally, did not come true;

- He did not understand at all both the objective reasons for the Soviet-Finnish conflict and the national interests of our country;

- He called our country an aggressor and wished it defeat;

- He sympathized with Finnish nationalists and Russophobes, who then dreamed of seizing part of Russian territory;

- He called our soldiers slaves, without conscience and honor, without a sense of defender of the Motherland;

- He repeated all the tales of enemy propaganda, approaching it completely uncritically.

And the reason for everything was the anger and hatred inherent in Ilyin. In general, reading his works, one immediately notices that this man had absolutely no sense of humor, irony, not to mention the ability for self-irony. Just an angry, sad graphomaniac.

By the way, Ilyin’s articles often resemble modern Russophobic journalism of current relocants. Yes Yes exactly! And do you really think that this person can be called a “deep thinker” and a “Russian patriot”???

Having failed to praise the fascist Mannerheim in Russia, they took up advertising for the fascist henchman Ilyin, who praised Mannerheim. The result will be the same.

Government Corruption
9 Damning Pieces Of Evidence Proving Trump Is Guilty
[Bee]The prosecution has finally rested in the criminal case against former President Trump, having presented nine bullet-proof pieces of evidence that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Trump is guilty. Here they are:

1) Trump said he's innocent: Exactly the sort of thing a guilty person would say.

2) Before the trial, the prosecution's star witnesses both said Trump was innocent: It doesn't get any more cut and dry.

3) The judge decided Trump was guilty before the trial even began: It was that obvious.

4) No one in America has ever been charged with a felony for this crime before: Trump is so guilty they had to make up new laws. Case closed.

5) Trump was in Home Alone 2 alongside notorious criminals "The Wet Bandits": What more evidence could you need?

6) Trump spent evenings after trial delivering pizza to firemen: Exactly what a hardened felon would do. Lock him up.

7) Trump's signature on the checks in question is kind of hard to read: The plain mark of criminal conspiracy.

8) Robert DeNiro said he is guilty: Game over.

9) He's not a Democrat: Clearly belongs behind bars. That's just how law works.

If that's not an airtight list of evidence that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Trump is guilty, then you belong in a cell right next to him!

#3  Sadly, this is a watershed moment in our national deline into a Stalinesque miasma...

"Lavrentiy Beria, the most ruthless and longest-serving secret police chief in Joseph Stalin’s reign of terror in Russia and Eastern Europe, bragged that he could prove criminal conduct on anyone, even the innocent. “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime” was Beria’s infamous boast. He served as deputy premier from 1941 until Stalin’s death in 1953, supervising the expansion of the gulags and other secret detention facilities for political prisoners. He became part of a post-Stalin, short-lived ruling troika until he was executed for treason after Nikita Khrushchev’s coup d’etat in 1953. Beria targeted “the man” first, then proceeded to find or fabricate a crime. Beria’s modus operandi was to presume the man guilty, and fill in the blanks later. By contrast, under the United States Constitution, there’s a presumption of innocence that emanates from the 5th, 6th, and 14th Amendments, as set forth in Coffin vs. U.S. (1895)."

So, What Now?
[RedState] On May 30th, 2024, the former president of the United States was found guilty of 34 felony charges in one of the most convoluted, corrupt prosecutions in modern history. Pursued by a district attorney elected on the promise to "get Donald Trump" no matter the cost, an unprecedented legal theory that still makes no sense was used to upgrade misdemeanors to felonies past the statute of limitations. Worse? A corrupt judge stacked the deck at every opportunity, up to and including the insane jury instructions.

BREAKING: The Jury Returns Guilty Verdict Against Donald Trump

The reactions were swift, with many on the right calling out the travesty of justice. Meanwhile, Democrats and their press allies celebrated, calling it a win for the rule of law. What law specifically? The judge decided that the supposed underlying crime didn't need to be agreed on, with the word of a witness who admitted to grand larceny on the stand being the entire basis of the case.

So now what?

Time for Red State AGs and DAs to get busy.

— Rep. Mike Collins (@RepMikeCollins) May 30, 2024

Some aren't going to like this, but the answer is to suck it up and do what it takes to win in November. Shouting at the sky, making all-caps posts on social media, and continuing to talk about how unfair everything is won't move the needle. Trump was nominated knowing this was the likely outcome. None of this is a surprise. This is not the time to quiver. It's the time to strike back.

There is a window of opportunity here to build on Trump's lead, and Republicans should take advantage of it. The former president will appeal this, and it's likely that will delay the execution of any sentence until after the election.

Things shouldn't stop there, though. Democrats have set a precedent, and you better believe they should be made to live by it. Republican states need to be prepping charges as I type this. There is a long list of Democrats in red-state jurisdictions that should no longer get the benefit of the doubt. That includes Fani Willis in Georgia, who admitted under oath to keeping money from her political campaign for personal use. Any Democrat who has so much as jaywalked needs to be prosecuted.

The genie is out of the bottle, and it's not up to Republicans to unilaterally shove it back in. Make Democrats suffer under the new rules they set until they beg for mercy, and when Joe Biden walks out of the White House, he should be immediately prosecuted for illegally retaining classified documents, among other alleged crimes.

There is no option to play nice anymore. Republicans tried to keep things within the lines. Democrats stepped over them for what they feel will be cheap political gain. Forget the crying. That's not going to help anything. Make them pay, and make them pay hard. Any Republican not willing to do that doesn't deserve to be in office.

This isn't about liking Trump or not. It's not about whether he should have been the nominee. There will be time for post-mortems after the election. Right now is the time to get up off the mat and do everything possible to make Democrats regret this for the good of the country and the credibility of the judicial system.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
'Most important thing' Israel did was defy US pressure on Rafah
[IsraelNationalNews] American foreign relations expert Mike Doran, the director of the Center for Peace and Security in the Middle East at the Hudson Institute, published a post on X praising Israel for resisting pressure from the Biden Administration not to operate in Rafah, where the final four Hamas battalions are located.

"As an American it pains me to say this, but the most important thing the Israelis have done in this war by far is to defy President Biden when he publicly ordered them not to take Rafah," Doran wrote.

"When I hear the Israeli pundits and even some people in the Israeli security establishment say that PM Netanyahu is endangering the relationship with the U.S., I’m amazed" he said. "They do not realize this elementary fact: if they simply carry out American orders, if they are an extension of the U.S. on issues vital to their national security, then why would anyone ever negotiate with them directly? Washington would become the address for all important discussions about Israeli military operations. And Washington would, as a result, treat their own thinking about their situation with contempt, as an afterthought."
Two words "South Vietnam".
"The mere fact that bureaucrats in Washington whose kids will never be on the receiving end of an Iranian Shahed from Lebanon are already openly advertising their contempt for mainstream Israeli thinking about security should give every Israeli pause. But Bibi Derangement Syndrome is so pervasive in the Israeli elite that much of it can’t evaluate Israel’s interests without reference to any other factor," Duran said.
And "Bibi Derangement Syndrome" was engineered by outside elements.

Science & Technology
Doomberg - Survival as a Service
[Doomberg] "Medicine rests upon four pillars — philosophy, astronomy, alchemy, and ethics." — Paracelsus

Nathan Vardi’s gripping book For Blood and Money: Billionaires, Biotech, and the Quest for a Blockbuster Drug tells the story of the discovery and commercialization of Ibrutinib, the breakthrough blood cancer drug. Originally synthesized by Celera Genomics as a tool compound for the study of an important enzyme in cancer cell survival and proliferation pathways (Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK)), Ibrutinib was scooped up by the tiny firm Pharmacyclics for a relative pittance. Less than a decade later, pharmaceutical giant AbbVie outbid Johnson & Johnson to acquire Pharmacyclics for the incredible sum of $21 billion.

The driving force behind Ibrutinib’s meteoric rise was entrepreneur Robert Duggan, whose son had died of brain cancer at the age of 26. Despite having no prior experience in the field of oncology, a deeply motivated Duggan accumulated stock in Pharmacyclics with a sizeable personal investment, installed himself as CEO and Chair, and managed the company with what former employees would later characterize as ruthless efficiency.

Many of the early patients receiving Ibrutinib suffered from chronic blood cancers and had already received several rounds of toxic chemotherapy and other risky treatments. Some were near death and out of viable options. When such patients showed stunning results in just a matter of weeks with barely any negative side effects—some even walking out of the hospital feeling normal again—Duggan knew he had a winner on his hands. He would go on to move mountains to get the drug to market as swiftly as possible before selling the company. Duggan personally netted $3.5 billion in proceeds from the AbbVie transaction.

Although no form of blood cancer cracks the top ten in global incidence rates, hematological oncology receives outsized attention from scientists and investors alike. The nature of blood cancer is such that the field effectively represents the front line of combat in the war on cancer more broadly. Since blood cancer cells circulate in the bloodstream or accumulate in accessible tissues like lymph nodes, directly targeting them with medication is a far simpler task than reaching cells buried deep within solid tumors. Further, patients can be readily sampled for monitoring with minimal invasiveness—a few milliliters of blood drawn from a needle can lead to scores of sophisticated, rapid analyses. This also facilitates personalization of care, as the genetic profile of an individual’s cancer can be monitored through the disease’s progression. Perhaps most importantly, discoveries in blood cancer research often apply to other forms of cancer, making the size of the potential prize far greater than the narrow addressable market of the proving ground.
