The decision deals with everyone within a 20-mile radius of the derailment. The train spilled more than a million pounds of hazardous chemicals in East Palestine.
"Individuals and businesses will be able to use compensation from the settlement in any manner they see fit to address potential adverse impacts from the derailment," the company said in a statement.
"This could include healthcare needs and medical monitoring, property restoration and diminution, and compensation for any net business loss."

If the police won't protect us, the people will.
Of course, since this happened in NYC, the police will likely use the video to find the mob and prosecute them.

"WHEREAS it has become apparent to the citizens of San Francisco, that there is no security for life and property, either under the regulations of society as it at present exists, or under the law as now administered; Therefore the citizens, whose names are hereunto attached, do unit themselves into an association for the maintenance of the peace and good order of society, and the preservation of the lives and property of the citizens of San Francisco, and do bind ourselves, each unto the other, to do and perform every lawful act for the maintenance of law and order, and to sustain the laws when faithfully and properly administered; but we are determined that no thief, burglar, incendiary or assassin, shall escape punishment, either by the quibbles of the law, the insecurity of prisons. the carelessness or corruption of the police, or a laxity of those who pretend to administer justice.[6]"

Alternative hypothesis: the 'mob' was The Mob, or a street gang. "'Dis is our turf and we don't wanna see Aunt Mabel get thumped by this jackass!"
[GEO.TV] Princess Meghan Markle ...unlikable American former starlet married to the formerly likable Prince Harry. Chock full of lefty political opinions, Markle's most important characteristic is that she is Black, even though she doesn't look it. Her mother, y'see, is half black and her father is white, which would make her a quarter Black. Her half brother described her (to her husband, before their marriage) as a jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage. Once married, she was too good for the Royals and she and Harry decamped to Beverly Hills, kind of like the Clampetts did, thus making a joke of Harry and the royal family heritage... seemingly has no regrets of leaving the Royal Family. "Yeah. My fambly's way royaler than theirs!"
The Duchess of Sussex feels wronged by Prince Harry’s low class relatives and is aware that she deserves an apology. After all, she is the center of the universe...
Royal expert Tom Quinn claims: "Megan doesn't feel guilty about Kate, because she feels that Kate should've been the one person in the Royal Family to back her against every difficulty." "Why's she get to be Princess of Wales, and I'm just a dumb duchess of someplace?"
Speaking to The Mirror, he continues: "Apart from anything else, Meghan knew Kate was an outsider, so she just couldn't understand why Kate always towed the Royal line rather than supporting her, Meghan, the other outsider." She probably toad the Royal line because she considers herself a Royal, if only by marriage..
Some say towed, some toed, and clearly some toad. In the duchess’s case, I’d definitely go with toad, but no kisses from the hubster are going to turn her into a princess…
However, a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... Meghan is upset due to Kate’s sudden health crisis. "She has a health crisis! Why can't I have a health crisis?"
"It's fatal, dear!"
"Shut up! And do something about that beard!"
Quinn says: "Kate's cancer diagnosis has been a real shock for Meghan, but she can see no way to patch up the relationship simply because it has become so poisonous." "I wanna be a princess! If she dies can I be a princess?"
"No, dear."
"Shut up."
"Yes, dear."
The royal expert added: "She also doesn't want people saying that she is trying to make things up with Kate just because Kate is ill. Meghan still feels Kate was in the wrong and should apologise before they try to build bridges." "Harry! Have the doorways widened! I can't fit my head through them anymore!"
"Yes, dear."
"This is all her fault!"
"Yes, dear."
"Shut up."
"Yes, dear."

And I'm sure they have no problems with you leaving.
Is there some reason anybody is sopposed to care?

Make sure your luggage is presentable Harry. Dumping your sorry ass, keeping the kids for the income protection and a last swing through Oprah and the View to rehash the racism she has endured is the inevitable conclusion to this.

If she left the Royal Family then why are they still calling her duchess?

It's really sad. I used to respect Harry. He may have been a little wild when younger - but who wouldn't be if they were rich, relatively good looking, and a prince? He was an actual combat veteran, until some stupid reporter blew his cover. He then became an attack helicopter pilot.
Then he married Meghan.

Not the first promising young lad to be led astray by a painted Jezebel.

If she left the Royal Family then why are they still calling her duchess?
She is married to a royal duke. Technically she is Mrs. Duke Harry, not a duchess in her own right. They are no linger working royals, so in that sense they left The Firm, but he has not been disowned. To be fully welcomed back they’d have to do some serious groveling, but they’d better get a move on, as it sounds like Papa Charles will not be long on the throne… and Brother Wills is not happy with the problems his little bro’s temper tantrum has been causing.

NYP: Several people also pointed out that Yaste’s shooting stance and technique were not exactly on the level of, say, a US Marine.
One user fired off the first salvo on X, where he wrote: “US Navy just killing it on Instagram,” alongside laughing and cringing emojis.
“Man. The scope is annoying, but that grip placement is downright WILD,” another responded.
A third said: “lol it’s completely pointless. You may as well just grab the mag.”
And yet another took aim at the Yaste’s leadership bona fides.
“Boat captain of a guided-missile destroyer is the chef’s kiss,” he wrote.
One user on X wrote: “US Navy just killing it on Instagram,” alongside laughing and cringing emojis.
Soon after eagle-eyed viewers spotted the tactical blunder, the Navy yanked the embarrassing image from the official Defense Department database.
“Thank you for pointing out our rifle scope error in the previous post. Picture has been removed until EMI is completed!” the US Navy said after removing the photo.

The whole promo was out of control. I had to look twice to make sure the stock wasn't resting on top of his shoulder.

Holding the stock high on the shoulder like that is a target shooter's position. Could be a cap'n might have that training but not your room clearing experience. As for the PAO that handed him that gun - his/her hide may heal eventually...

Meanwhile the Commander of the Eisenhower is dropping memes to #NAFO on twitter. This while Houthis bombed a few ships again over last weekend.
Someone said, unless you're grunt and went through basic, a lot of those guys in higher commands don't know how to shoot. Gun Dumb. Someone else said it was purposeful because they have no other outlets to show the world, the nation how messed up incompetent the military has become. IDK - just repeating what I heard.

I'm not so sure the scope was on backwards as reported. If it's the photo at the link, the scope appears to be a night vision model which have a large front end.
I could be wrong again... of course.

I was watching some different interviews with BBQ (haiti gang leader) and he was surprising coherent and seemingly more intelligent than I was crediting him for. His stock rose, think he can be disruptive to the status quo in haiti for a good long time. We'll see.
[Daily Express US] Former CIA director John Brennan says he is "worried" about a possible second Donald Trump presidency - and fears it could spell disaster for Europe.
A second Donald Trump presidency poses a risk to Ukraine in their fight against Russia, according to a former director of the CIA.
John Brennan, who served as head of the intelligence service until 2017, says he is "worried" about poll data indicating a tight race between Trump and Democrat rival Joe Biden.
Recalling a meeting with the Republican during his last term, Brennan said he felt Trump "wasn't quailfied then and isn't qualified now." He highlights NATO and the US relationship with foreign allies as an area that could suffer.
Prominent GOP members have called for a re-assessment of funding to Ukraine as Washington has already supplied around $75 billion.
And the former spy chief told France's RTBF he fears Trump could cut funding altogether.

I recall a new conference with Xi, Putin, and Trump where a reporter asked what Trump would do if Putin invaded the Ukraine. Trump said he'd nuke Moscow. Isn't Brennan one of the 51 signatures on that lie that the Hunter laptop was Russian disinformation?
#9
Whatever Trump may have said to Putin, he did not say it as he was preparing his own invasion of Ukraine while using Zelensky's request to join NATO as a pretext.

[ZERO] In a Tuesday op-ed, Paul writes that government officials from 15 federal agencies "knew in 2018 that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was trying to create a coronavirus like COVID-19."
These officials knew that the Chinese lab was proposing to create a COVID 19-like virus and not one of these officials revealed this scheme to the public. In fact, 15 agencies with knowledge of this project have continuously refused to release any information concerning this alarming and dangerous research.
Government officials representing at least 15 federal agencies were briefed on a project proposed by Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance and the Wuhan Institute of Virology. -Rand Paul
Paul is talking about the DEFUSE project, which was revealed after DRASTIC Research uncovered documents showing that DARPA had been presented with a proposal for EcoHealth to perform gain-of-function research on bat coronavirus.

Once again, those labeled as Conspiracy Theorists
and even jailed in some places. Are proven time after time to have had the Real actual Factual Data months, even years before the Government / M.I.C. (Medical Industrial Complex) and its controlled media.
[Gateway] A CIA Officer/former FBI official is on an undercover video boasting about using the might of the federal government to ’jail anyone’ by ’setting them up.’
Gavin O’Blennis, a Contracting Officer for the CIA told an undercover journalist with Sound Investigations that the FBI "can put anyone in jail...set ’em up!"
"We call it a nudge," O’Blennis said, adding the FBI can put "problematic" right-wing journalists like Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones in jail.
O’Blennis said of Infowars founder Alex Jones: The FBI "took his money away," and ’chopped his legs off.’
Gavin O’Blennis said at least 20 undercover FBI agents were at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
"I thought you said that there were FBI agents in the crowd at January 6?" the undercover journalist asked O’Blennis.
He replied, "There are. There always are when there’s a big protest in DC. Just in case it gets out of hand like that...I mean, I’m talking they maybe had 20. You needed 1,000 to get rid of that crowd."
He also said the FBI uses "embellished" news and "fake social media" to "really get people mad."
