Fred has updated Rantburg to a more robust version of Linux; robust as in a bear to setup and operate. Fred has a rather large hill to club, or a learning curve to flatten, as do I.
The changes to the programs such as the web server and the database server, coupled with the tightened security of Debian, coupled with dealing with php, we will be experiencing outages from time to time.
Can't be helped.
We have no clue as to how long this process will be drawn out, so please, bear with us.
Bless you both for what you’ve done thus far, and what you plan yet to do.

My favorite version of Windows for standard PC's was Windows 95, the next release after Windows 3.1. Windows 95 core concepts are still seen almost 35 years later in the newest Windows versions. My web server was Windows Server 2012's using Internet Information Server with Oracle as my Database on my database server, also Windows 2012. I even went out on the limb and tried using Microsoft Access as my Database for a while and was surprised at how fast and reliable it ran on a dedicated database server for a flat file. I credit Intel and lots of Memory for all of that.

Amen to everything said above. It is heartening to know the outages are intentional, not from suppressive efforts by those, foreign and domestic, who find this small voice of traditional American opinion threatening!

Linux. So secure. I'm definitely not saying NT based Windows is better, it's not. That said, the recently discovered effort to put a backdoor into the ZX package on Linux should wake people up. It was caught. This time. Doesn't mean a similar exploit didn't already slip by or that one won't slip by next time.
The Linux "community" is whining about how this happens because "unpaid volunteers, burnout, blah blah, blah." Not at all untrue. More importantly, hackers focus on the juicy targets. Remember that when someone says "Linux is the backbone of the Internet."

[FOX] Pete Hegseth’s latest book, "The War on Warriors," was a passion project for the Fox News host who says the Army he joined two decades ago has been plagued with woke ideology that could put Americans in danger.
"My time in uniform defined the better part of my adult life. It shaped me more than anything else. It's something I love, a brotherhood that will always be central to who I am. And so, the book ‘The War on Warriors,’ the title was meant to say, ‘Hey, these warriors, there's a war on them, and it's not just what they're facing on the battlefield, it's from within,’" Hegseth told Fox News Digital.
"The subtitle is ‘Behind the Betrayal of the Men Who Keep Us Free,’ because this is not just a simple book of, ‘Oh, the military went woke,’" he continued. "It's more a book about, ‘How did the military allow itself to be manipulated into going woke?’"
"The War on Warriors," which is available for preorder now, aims to uncover the deep roots of dysfunction throughout the military. Hegseth feels diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, gender quotas and other standards pushed on the military by the left are adding layers that eliminate meritocracy.
[PostcardsFromBarsoom] World War Three is being fought in your mind, and it's the best glowjob you've ever had.
Warfare is fundamentally about breaking the enemy’s will to fight. This can be done with violence, or without it – before the fight even starts, through raw intimidation. Working from this understanding, military theorists have divided the history of warfare into five generations.
First Generation Warfare, abbreviated 1GW, was war as it was waged from the dawn of civilization up through roughly the Civil War. This style of conflict involved massed line infantry, equipped with spears, pikes, swords, or line-of-sight ranged weapons such as longbows, crossbows, or muskets. The basic tactic was to draw up two large groups of armed men, bring them into close contact, and have them hack at one another until one side grew demoralized by the slaughter, at which point their line would break and the real slaughter could begin.
Industrial or Second Generation Warfare (2GW) brought rifled firearms, machine-guns, and indirect artillery. Men could now be killed at a great distance, without ever seeing the enemy. Camouflage, concealment, and cover became the keys to victory. Its heyday was roughly from the Civil War to the Great War.
Mechanized warfare or 3GW arrived with the internal combustion engine and powered flight. Tactics now depended on speed and manoeuvrability. It dawned with the Second World War and reached its apogee with the invasion of Iraq.
Mechanized warfare created an overwhelming advantage for large industrial states. Small states and non-state actors responded with 4GW, which can be thought of as televisual warfare – combat via propaganda. This is war as fought with cameras and media distribution networks. It is guerrilla warfare via weaponized morality: using the enemy’s own military actions against it by showing the consequences of war for one’s civilian population to the enemy civilian population. Bait the enemy into killing babies, then ask them how many more babies they’re willing to murder. Think Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq.
The response to 4GW is 5GW – warfare by psyop, utilizing misinformation and sentiment engineering. Its characteristic weapons platform is the social network. Where 4GW seeks to use the enemy’s own morality against it, 5GW seeks to change that morality, to transform the enemy’s inner nature, getting the enemy to attack themselves for you, to surrender with open arms and smiles on their faces ... ideally, without the enemy even realizing that they’re under attack.
An excellent introduction to the 5GW campaign that is being waged against us as we speak was provided by Tucker Carlson’s interview with Mike Benz. Robert W Malone MD, MS has provided it on his blog, complete with transcript: The End of Democracy: "What I’m Describing is Military Rule". This is worth watching in full. It provides a cogent, lucid description of what’s been happening to our precious networks over the last decade.

Ok, so he missed the ever important slice right after mechanized warfare. Insurgency warfare was the response to the mass of tanks and planes. Insurgency leveled the playing field by taking away the FLOT and battle lines. The follow on propaganda campaign come after this.
As proof I only have to quote a lethal Maoist insurgent I once knew name Victor Corpus. He said," We cant fight in the air, we have no planes. We cant fight the tanks, we have no tanks. But all airplanes have to land and take off, and all tanks need gas. And we will fight them there."

Yeah, like CBS.

[ColonelCassad] Specialists continue to inspect destroyed enemy units in positions near the state border in the Belgorod region. And of course, the found fragments of equipment, personal belongings, documents, weapons allow us to answer many questions.
Who is our enemy? Why was it necessary to start SVO? Who should we protect our children from?
The photo shows a liquidated militant of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. Presumably this is one of the American mercenaries who participated in an attempt to break through the Russian state border near the village of Kozinka. But the VIDEO (you need to watch to the end) from the helmet-mounted cameras of the army of child killers and cowards is very eloquent.
Our homes are being attacked by Russophobic scum from all over the world. The enemy tried to present his operation as attacks that were organized by the Vyrs, but in fact the neo-Vlasovites participated in the attacks as a screen, and the detachments were formed from GUR soldiers and professional mercenaries: Americans, Romanians, French. Now their bodies are being eaten by stray dogs.
Americans, Romanians and French took part in the attack of the Ukrainian forces on the Belgorod region. War correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny announced this on April 6, publishing a helmet-mounted video of a soldier of the Ukrainian formation, filmed while trying to enter the territory of the Belgorod region.
“The enemy tried to present his operation as attacks that were organized by the Vyrs, but in fact the neo-Vlasovites participated in the attacks as a screen, and the detachments were formed from military personnel of the Main Intelligence Directorate and professional mercenaries: Americans, Romanians, French,” the military correspondent signed the video on Telegram. channel.
Throughout the video, armed people in Ukrainian military equipment with Ukrainian identification marks spoke in English. Their pronunciation and speed of speech are different, which may indicate different nationalities of the participants in the formation.
As Regnum reported, on March 15, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that from March 12 to 14, Ukrainian units tried to make several unsuccessful attempts to break into the territory of the Belgorod and Kursk regions. At the same time, Ukrainian forces lost more than 1.5 thousand militants.
The next day, the department informed that the Russian military repelled the attacks and stopped attempts by Ukrainian saboteurs to penetrate Russian territory in the direction of Spodaryushino and Kozinka in the Belgorod region. It was noted that the Russian military did not allow Ukrainian DRGs to penetrate into Russia from the Sumy region of Ukraine.
A few days after this, mercenaries from Romania announced that they had participated in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attempts to attack Russian border areas. According to them, militants from the Ukrainian “Russian Volunteer Corps” (a terrorist organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) took part in the raids along with them.
On March 7, the Investigative Committee of Russia put on the wanted list about 700 mercenaries fighting on the side of the Ukrainian army. They were charged in absentia under Part 3 of Art. 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation a number of citizens of the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland and Romania.
