[NYPOST] Missouri teenager Kaylee Gain is breathing on her own two weeks after she was mercilessly beaten, with her head repeatedly pounded on pavement, and left in a coma following a disturbing caught-on-video fight with another girl.
Gain, 16, is in a “stable” condition and has moved out of the ICU, her family wrote on GoFundMe Friday.
It is unclear if she is still in a coma. The Post has reached out to her family for comment.
“We are truly blessed by the outpouring of support and your prayers. It means so much to us!” a family member wrote.
The St. Louis teen was left with life-threatening injuries after the assault by the other student, who is not being named due to her being a minor, on March 8 in Spanish Lakes.
Gain suffered a skull fracture and frontal lobe damage in the caught-on-camera brawl near Hazelwood East High School.
Her classmate repeatedly pounded her head into the ground, which caused life-threatening brain swelling and bleeding.
“The full scope and extent of Kaylee’s injuries and prognosis for recovery cannot be determined until, with God’s grace, she regains consciousness, and the family asks that you continue to keep Kaylee in your thoughts and prayers as she continues to recover,” Gain family lawyer Bryan Kaemmerer said in a statement Monday.
Gain’s 15-year-old classmate was taken into custody and charged with assault. Her family defended the honor roll student, who they claimed had been “harassed and bullied” before the beatdown. She was also twice the size of Kaylee.
The girl’s aunt told Daily Mail she had been defending herself and begged the juvenile court to show “compassion” for the teen. Golly. Did Kaylee hit her with a two by six or something?
A Change.org petition also highlighted that the girl spoke four languages, plays the violin, is on the school’s volleyball team and recently began college-level AP classes. I can't guess her height, but I will guess somebody's looking at a dislocated shoulder if they have to carry her out of a burning building someday.
“Prior to an incident on March 8th where she was seen defending herself from harassment and bullying, she had never been in trouble,” the post read. “Her work as a scholar was tainted by the bullying she had to endure at school.”

You know, it's funny. They call Israel's war of self-defence against Hamas "genocide", but widespread attacks by African-Americans against whites is just kids-being-kids.

Looking at the two it is hard to see a scenario where Kaylee was mercilessly bullying the other one. Kaylee doesn’t lol to have that type of build. The four languages claim sounds unlikely unless they are counting Pig Latin. Let’s see the list.

Pig Latin and Ebonics makes two. English is three. Most high schools have Spanish, so four is reasonable.

What's with her parents making her go to a school that's almost 99% non white enrollment? Are they the types with a "Hate has no home here" sign in the front yard?

Among girls, bullying often enough is verbal rather than physical, Super Hose. So comparative size is not as critical.

“Her work as a scholar was tainted by the bullying she had to endure at school.”
Who writes this kind of fantasy drivel? I doubt anyone can demonstrate that the "classmate" actually had any claim on scholarship, literacy or AP classes, unless there is an AP literature course based on reading the McDonalds Menu while twerking .
A genuine prosecutor would charge her as an adult and add a Hate-Crime supplemental charge.

[QUORA] This week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that life expectancy in the United States rose to 77.5 years in 2022, though it still has not reached pre-pandemic levels. Some people, both in the U.S. and around the world, go on to live well past that — reaching their 110th birthday and beyond. They're called supercentenarians, and their habits can teach us a lot about aging and longevity, experts say.
What has kept the oldest people in the world going, and what can we learn from them? Read on to get their lifestyle secrets — from prioritizing spirituality to eating produce — along with input from health experts on which ones are worth trying for ourselves.
CULTIVATE POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS — AND AVOID TOXIC PEOPLE
Born in San Francisco in 1907, supercentenarian Maria Branyas, who currently lives in Spain, turned 117 earlier this month. Branyas is recognized by Guinness World Records as being the oldest validated living person in the world. She’s also among the oldest people known to have survived COVID-19, which she had in April 2020. When asked what contributes to her longevity, Branyas credited "order, tranquility, good connection with family and friends, contact with nature, emotional stability, no worries, no regrets, lots of positivity and staying away from toxic people."
[ABC] Poland has demanded an explanation from Russia after one of its missiles strayed briefly into Polish airspace during a major missile attack on Ukraine.
KYIV, Ukraine -- Poland demanded an explanation from Russia on Sunday after one of its missiles strayed briefly into Polish airspace during a major missile attack on Ukraine, prompting the NATO member to activate F-16 fighter jets.
It was Russia's third big missile attack on Ukraine in the past four days, and the second to target the capital, Kyiv.
The head of Kyiv's military administration, Serhiy Popko, said Russia used cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers. An air alert in the capital lasted for more than two hours as rockets entered Kyiv in groups from the north.
He said the attacks were launched from the Engels district in the Saratov region of Russia.
According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage in the capital, he said.
Armed Forces Operational Command of Poland, a member of NATO, said in a statement that there was a violation of Polish airspace at 4:23 a.m. (0323 GMT) by one of the cruise missiles launched by Russia against towns in western Ukraine.

I doubt there's actually anything to this beyond a weapon going off kilter. It happens to everyone's occasionally. If Russia was going to do something it would have hit of value.

Biden lost the election when he raided Mar A Lago. It galvanized all the opposition Republicans that are not on someone’s payroll. It demonstrated that we are at a level of tyranny that changing fiscal policy won’t fix.

Do you REALLY think that voting will make any difference?
[MAIL] A leading Democratic strategist has hit out at President Biden's poll numbers saying looking at them was equivalent to 'walking in on your grandma naked.'
James Carville, who rose to prominence for helping Bill Clinton to the White House in 1992, spoke of his overall disapproval of the current state of the Democratic Party.
Speaking to The New York Times, Carville spoke about ratings, how he believes there to be 'too many preachy females' who are turning-off black male voters, while also complaining that 'woke stuff' was killing his party.
Carville described Biden's ratings, which according to polls is at a low of 37.4 percent, as, 'It’s like walking in on your grandma naked. You can’t get the image out of your mind.'
Despite his scathing take, Carville did add, 'I actually like Biden. He's a tenacious guy that's had a real life. and a couple others that he just made up
[News4Jax] This comes after a News4JAX I-TEAM investigation exposing how a loophole in the law allowed people to live rent-free in a home for weeks while the property’s owner, Patti Peeples, wasn’t allowed on the premises.
The bill would close that loophole, and it’s now headed to the governor’s desk.
“It gives me a real feeling of positive hope that we still have the ability to discuss challenges in our society and work with our legislatures in a bipartisan way,” Peeples said.
It’s been a year since Peeples found strangers had moved into her rental property.
They refused to leave, and it was Peeples who was banned from the premises as the case spent weeks moving through civil court. When she first discovered those unwelcome guests living there, they produced a lease, claiming they were victims of a rental scam, again. Court records revealed they made the same claim at a nearby house.
It took months for the owners to evict them, right around the time they moved into Peeples’ house.
After several weeks, the women were evicted, and the house was left with tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage.
“It’s just the wild west,” Peeples said. “They simply move from one place to another.”
Now, state lawmakers have passed a bill to put a stop to it.
The bill allows law enforcement to immediately remove squatters who do not have a lease authorized by the property owner. It also adds criminal penalties, including designating intentionally presenting a fraudulent lease as a misdemeanor and making it a felony to intentionally sell or lease someone else’s property or intentionally cause more than $1,000 in property damage while squatting or trespassing.
The women who made themselves at home at Peeples’ house were never criminally charged.
“I have never felt more unempowered or helpless in my life than on March 1, 2023,” Peeples said.
It was soon after that date when Peeples first shared her story with the I-TEAM. Later, she was invited to share it on national TV and then, in Tallahassee.
Peeples said she is not surprised her story has resonated so widely.
“I’ll tell you why. Because at the crux of this issue is just basic unfairness, you know, if we don’t have the right to inhabit our own property, then what kind of world are we living in?” Peeples said.
The bill allows a person wrongfully evicted to sue to be placed back inside, as well as recover attorneys’ fees and damages.
Critics, including from Florida Rising, which is a group advocating for historically marginalized communities, had previously expressed concerns that the bill could lead to abusive landlords removing lawful tenants.
However, in a statement to the I-TEAM today, a spokesperson said they are now neutral on the bill’s passage because they feel it was satisfactorily amended to protect legitimate tenants from wrongful eviction.
If signed by the governor, the bill will go into effect July 1.

There are a bunch of laws in place to help out folks who run into a bad turn. Those laws are being abused by a new class of predatory squatters. Between squatters and destructive tenants, I don’t know why anyone would want to be a landlord. This situation is not going to work out well for people who don’t already own homes or are paying a mortgage.

With the new predatory squatting, anyone who owns any kind of real estate has become a landlord, whether they want it or not. Laws related to this need drastic revision nationwide.
