[Breitbart] A Chicago man accused of stabbing a stranger on Christmas was released by a judge — then missed his court date for attempted murder while he was allegedly busy stabbing another random woman.
Allen Erenburg was set to be in court Wednesday after a grand jury charged him with seven felonies for the December 25 incident during which he allegedly knocked a man off his bicycle, “struck the man in the head with a hammer and stabbed him repeatedly with a knife,” CWBChicago reports.
Instead of going to court, the 44-year-old was back on the street stabbing a woman and threatening her boyfriend with a hammer, prosecutors say.
Erenburg was caught in the first place not after he allegedly attempted to kill the man on the bike, but five days after that attack when he was arrested in a separate incident in Roscoe Village, according to the outlet.
“A 49-year-old woman reported that she was sitting in her car in the 2300 block of West Belmont when a man started shouting at her, then pulled out a knife and slashed one of her tires,” the publication stated, citing a Chicago Police Department (CPD) report.
Erenburg then allegedly broke the woman’s rear window and fled, but CPD was able to find and arrest him just minutes later when the victim identified him as the perpetrator.
The man was charged with misdemeanor criminal damage to property, and Judge William Fahy released him the next day.
According to court records obtained by CWBChicago, the grand jury charged Erenburg with one count of attempted murder and six counts of aggravated battery on January 17, “but he was never arrested to face the charges and failed to show up for his arraignment on January 31.”
The outlet went on to detail the discombobulated events that led to Erenburg being free to allegedly commit more violent crimes:
The judge rescheduled the hearing for February 14 and instructed the clerk of court to send Erenburg a postcard with the new date.
There is conflicting information about which judge issued the postcard order, but their handwritten notes say Erenburg was never notified of the January 31 date because he was in custody for a misdemeanor when the indictment came down. We could not locate any court law enforcement records showing Erenburg was in custody at that time.
Erenburg didn’t show up for the rescheduled hearing, either.
Erenburg then allegedly committed a second holiday attack — this time around 11:00 a.m. on Valentine’s Day, two hours after he was set to be in court.
When a couple walked past him at a bus stop in the 2800 block of West Diversey, prosecutors allege that Erenburg took the 28-year-old man’s skateboard, prompting him to snatch it back.
Erenburg escalated the situation by allegedly pulling out a hammer and a knife, miming a stabbing action at the woman, 25, but, instead, cutting her purse.
The woman then threw a cup at the perpetrator, prompting him to stab her, prosecutors said in a detention petition obtained by CWBChicago.
“The blade entered her chest and punctured her right lung,” the outlet reported. “Both victims ran to a gas station and called 911.”
CPD officers said they stopped Erenburg nearby, finding “several knives” in his possession. Investigators later found surveillance footage showing Erenburg disposing of a hammer in a trash can, prompting a search that recovered the hammer, as well as three more knives, from the bin.
The arrest report stated that Erenburg is affiliated with the Insane Deuces street gang.
Finally a gang is named. I was beginning to think he just had the poor impulse control of the insane. The Insane Deuces started in 1970 in the projects as a neighbourhood gang, not ethnic/race-based. Spread to the suburb of Aurora a few years later, and then beyond, adding drug dealing to their previous occupation of fighting other gangs.
Prosecutors then hit him with attempted first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery, attempted robbery, and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
Finally detained at the state’s request, Erenburg was taken to court Friday to face the December attempted murder case as well.
[Breitbart] A recent small claims court decision found Air Canada liable for incorrect advice given by its website chatbot that led to a grieving customer paying more for plane tickets. Incredibly, the airline argued that its AI chatbot is “a separate legal entity responsible for its own actions.”
CBC reports that Jake Moffatt was looking to book last-minute plane tickets from British Columbia to Toronto after the death of his grandmother. While on Air Canada’s website, he used the customer service chatbot to ask about getting bereavement fares and the AI chatbot advised that if Moffatt booked full-price tickets immediately, he could submit a refund application within 90 days to get the cheaper bereavement rate.
Trusting this advice, Moffatt booked tickets for a total of $1,630. However, after completing the trip, Air Canada informed him that bereavement discounts don’t apply retroactively to already-purchased tickets. When Moffatt complained and showed a screenshot of the chatbot’s guidance, an Air Canada rep admitted the chatbot had provided “misleading words” but said the company had updated the system.
Unhappy with this resolution, Moffatt took Air Canada to small claims court. In a legal filing, Air Canada argued argued that its chatbot is “a separate legal entity responsible for its own actions.” But adjudicator Christopher Rivers called this “a remarkable submission,” stating that Air Canada owns its website and chatbot.
Ultimately, Rivers ruled that Air Canada failed to take reasonable care to ensure its chatbot provided accurate information. He ordered the airline to pay Moffatt $812 — the difference between the full-price and bereavement fares.

This is what's know as wanting to have it both ways.
Of course, if a human rep promised this, they would be disallowed, reprimanded, and if of suitable victimology status, canned.

[FoxNews] The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department said eight people were arrested Saturday during a 10-hour "protest and standoff" that stemmed from an Eritrean "cultural event."
Clashes erupted between rival groups of Eritreans, and police confirmed that officers trying to disperse the unlawful crowds were attacked by people wielding sticks, rocks and other items.
Crowds also set a tractor on fire in North Carolina's largest city, and police seized a total of two firearms over the course of several hours.
Fox News Digital reached out to the department Sunday seeking the identities and more information about those eight arrested.
The incident first began shortly after 11:30 a.m. Saturday, when CMPD’s Providence Division responded to "an unlawful protest happening in the parking lot of a business hosting an Eritrean cultural event" on Monroe Road. "Protesters were on private property and were spilling out into the road, which prompted officers to close Monroe Road. Dispersal orders were repeatedly given to protesters throughout the duration of the protest, however they refused to disperse," police said in a press release. "Charlotte Fire and MEDIC responded to assist."
Shortly after 3:00 p.m., CMPD Bike Unit officers attempted to move protesters out of the street.
"Several protesters threw objects and pushed back against the officers. Officers then deployed pepper spray," the department confirmed. "Multiple protesters and officers were treated on scene for injuries related to the pepper spray."
Police said, during this time, a female protester struck an officer, and a firearm was seized from her person. She was charged with inciting to riot, failure to disperse, injury to personal property and assault on a government official.
The charges for all eight suspects included impeding traffic and failure to disperse.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., dispersal orders were given again as protesters began blocking the entrance to the private business hosting the cultural event, police said.
The CMPD’s Civil Emergency Unit was deployed to disperse the crowds shortly after 7:20 p.m.
"The officers were met with violence and hostility, with protesters throwing objects," the department said in its initial press release. "Over the course of several hours, the CEU gave multiple dispersal orders in English and Spanish and were again met with violence from protesters wielding sticks, rocks and other items."
"Protesters then intentionally set fire to a nearby tractor trailer. The Charlotte Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire and contained the scene," police said. "Shortly before 9 p.m., officers assisted with allowing the cultural event attendees to leave the scene. Protesters remained on scene initially but dispersed a short time later."

How about police start spraying a CS gas with indelible marker dyes that will ID these A-Holes weeks later for arrest? OR at the least let everyone around them know they are engaged in felonious acts.
Adding RFID markers to riot control sprays is also a thought 🤔.

Well, it looks like the Eritreans have managed to adapt very to contemporary American culture adopting local practices. Let's hear it for the 'melting pot'.
[FoxNews] Harris County, Texas man chased down the suspect who allegedly stole his grill, before firing his gun at the man and killing him.
A Harris County, Texas homeowner shot and killed a man after he allegedly stole a BBQ pit from his home early Sunday morning, according to officials.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a social media post early Sunday that deputies responded to the 15000 block of Ralston Road near Kentington Oak Drive after reports that a man had been shot and was confirmed dead.
A preliminary investigation revealed the dead man allegedly attempted to steal the shooter’s BBQ pit from his home.
After discovering his grill had been stolen, the homeowner left his home and chased down the suspect in his own vehicle, Gonzalez said.

Of course FoxSnews posts a picture of a grill, not a pit. Without seeing a picture of the pit it's not possible to know if the shooting was justified. It would also be helpful to have the owner smoke some brisket so the Grand Jury can decide if they should indict or commend the owner.
Available for streaming on Peacock. I was pleasantly surprised. Well deserved...

[Modernity] The latest example of cultural enrichment in Europe
Mass violence broke out in the city of The Hague in The Netherlands Saturday night as hundreds of marauding African migrants attacked police, smashed property and set fires, in scenes that once again highlight the complete failure of multiculturalism.
Reports suggest that the violence flared up between two rival groups of rival groups during a ’meeting’ of the Eritrean community in the city where the Dutch parliament is seated.
Footage appeared to show protesters breaking into the Opera Zalencentrum event venue, with police using tear gas in a desperate effort to disperse them.
The rioters then began throwing bricks and bottles at police and attacking them with sticks.

Bulgarian police did not allow a neo-Nazi march to take place in Sofia
“Sofia police, on the orders of Mayor Vasil Terziev, blocked the evening Lukov March, an annual procession in honor of Hristo Lukov, who was the leader of the neo-Nazi Union of Bulgarian National Legions in the 1930s and 1940s,” the authors wrote.
The article states that a large group of people began to gather at 17:00 (16:00 Moscow time) in the central part of the Bulgarian capital for a torchlight procession, despite the lack of permission from the municipality to hold the event on city streets.
As Regnum reported, a torchlight procession in honor of General Lukov, who supported Nazi Germany during World War II and was killed by the anti-fascist resistance, has taken place in Sofia every year since 2003.
In 2021, in Sofia, reinforced police forces almost completely blocked the central part of the city and other gathering places of neo-Nazis, preventing the rally from taking place. They were only allowed to lay flowers at the memorial plaque on the house where General Hristo Lukov lived. Many politicians and public figures in the country expressed their support for the actions of law enforcement agencies.
[Trending Politics] X and SpaceX owner Elon Musk dismissed the verdict in Trump’s civil fraud case by simply asking who the supposed victim was if all of the loans granted to Trump were paid back with interest.
A good question. Mr. Wife and I pay off our credit card bills every month, so it doesn’t matter how high the posted interest might be.
In a rather unsurprising move, the former was found liable in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil suit brought against Trump and his companies. Trump was ordered to "pay back" more than $350 million after the years-long case brought forward by an attorney general who campaigned on "getting Trump" came to a close.
Musk responded with a simple question in an X post. "Given that there were no victims with losses, who is supposed to receive the money?" asked Musk.

These days when I visit the doctor's office they're more interested in giving me a shingles vaccine than covid vaccine. They offer the covid vaccine but they don't push it. Kinda says something.

And the US Congress, save a couple of Kabuki Theater shows directed by Senator Ron Johnson, which amounted to nothing but talk, is absolutely not interested. Gee, I wonder why.
Trump is no saint this killer vaccine issue, either.
