[IsraelTimes] Scheme will give Smotrich control over when a quarter of the funds are released by Oslo to Ramallah, but sides appear to have heeded pressure from US, which feared PA’s collapse
Norway has agreed to help facilitate the transfer of the Paleostinian Authority’s tax revenues that Israel has been withholding from Ramallah, Oslo announced on Sunday, in a framework aimed at providing vital funding to the cash-strapped PA.
Under interim peace accords reached in the 1990s, Israel’s Finance Ministry collects tax revenues on behalf of the PA and makes monthly transfers to Ramallah, but a dispute broke out over the payments in the wake of Hamas

[IsraelTimes] Leah Goldstein booted from Ottawa International Women’s day event after pro-Paleostinian activists discover her military background 3 decades ago.
Leah Goldstein seemed like a natural fit to be the keynote speaker at an International Women’s Day event in Ontario, Canada, next month. A Canadian cyclist, she made history as the first woman to win a grueling 3,000-mile bike race across the United States.
But in January, five months after accepting the invitation, Goldstein was told she was no longer invited to speak.

In 1992, while doing an initial site assessment I visited the Jacumba/Smith Valley Boulevard areas along the border with the US Border Patrol Sector Chief and local law enforcement. The assessment was in part to establish priorities for engineering support to enhance border road trafficability and mobility, and to select placement of sections of a border wall construction program for the USBP.
The second initiative was to provide clandestine, observation positions to observe well established narcotics trafficking corridors to enhance focused USBP and LE enforcement response. I remember in particular the local USBP agent identifying the various cartel techniques in directing border crossing mules by alterations to traffic signs and houselights, and in particular, the numerous locals congregated at the Shell station that were identified as scouts and runners for the traffickers, met to socialize until nightfall and then to provide area counter-surveillance before narcotics runs were determined. This was in the early 90's, before the cartels had really started any assistance to illegal migration since they considered it not a profit source and thought it would bring more enforcement to the border.
Jacumba has been a key trafficking site for decades, The Arellano-Felix Organization (AFO), then as now is the most significant cartel in the San Diego--Imperial County area.
[GEO.TV] PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan on Sunday reiterated that his party can enter into negotiations with any party except for PML-N or PPP for the formation of government.
He said that PTI leader Omar Ayub, who is the party's candidate for the prime minister's post, has stated the facts that the party has more seats as per Form-45s.
"Forming the government is our right," he added.
Ali said that "MQM-P got PTI's mandate in Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... " but party founder Imran Khan ...aka The Great Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree... doesn't want alliance with MQM-P.
"We won on Form-45s but MQM-P got the win on Form-47s," he added.
Ali further stated that he hopes that an action will be taken on the revelations made by the Rawalpindi commissioner.

[GEO.TV] Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam ...Assembly of Islamic Clergy, or JUI, is a Pak Deobandi (Hanafi) political party. There are two main branches, one led by Maulana Fazlur Rahman, and one that was led by Maulana Samiul Haq. Fazl is active in Pak politix and Sami spent more time running his madrassah until his secretary rubbed him out in a jealous rage. Both branches sponsor branches of the Taliban, though with plausible deniability... -Fazl Emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman ...Deobandi holy man, known as Mullah Diesel during the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty. Fazl seldom misses a meal and is now so large he has his own gravitational pull... has said that his party will not leave playing its parliamentary role to "respect those people who voted for its candidates" in the February 8 nationwide polls.
"We believe that the 2024 polls were wrong," the JUI-F supremo said during an interview with Geo News’ programme Jirga with Saleem Safi on Sunday, adding that the party candidates also filed petitions to the Election Commission of Pakistain (ECP) to challenge the election results.
Fazl also said that he questioned the establishment’s point of view over the fairness of the election 2024 as if the May 9 narrative was buried after poll results.
"I have questioned establishment whether the May 9 narrative was buried if they thought the Feb 8 nationwide polls fair," he added.
"Has the nation cast votes to rebels [PTI-linked candidates]?" questioned Fazl.

[JewishPress] Ronen Tzur who back in 2016 served for three months as a Labor MK, and was former, disgraced Israeli President Moshe Katzav’s media consultant, is famous for his brute approach to politics. In 2023, Tzur hopped on the protest wave against the judicial reform, founded the "Degel Israel" (Israeli flag) movement, which he still heads, and started dreaming of creating a new left-wing protest party on the ashes of the defunct Labor and Meretz.
One of the first things he did was use Degel Israel as a base for a lecture series calling to eliminate Netanyahu’s power base by shutting down the right-leaning Channel 14.
After October 7, Tzur was one of the founders of the headquarters of the families for the return of the hostages and the missing and became the group’s director. His relationship with the families under his leadership was often troubled, especially when he pushed them to attack Knesset committee members during hearings the same way the anti-reform hooligans had done before the war. One mother told Srugim that Tzur walked out of a Zoom call after the mother of one of the hostages criticized him. Rami Igra, a former Israeli hostage negotiation official, accused Tzur of sabotaging the release efforts, and raising the price Hamas felt it could demand for the hostages.
On Sunday, dozens of hostage families signed a petition demanding his departure. They wrote that "a consensus is needed in order to approve a deal for the release of the hostages, and one of the important prerequisites is operating under a leader who is not painted in one political color or another, through his fault or not."
Tzur tweeted an entirely different version, which did not jive with the months of complaints from many families about his outspoken conduct. He blamed ... Bibi. And here you thought Soros is only active in USA
[GEO.TV] Israel has officially declared its opposition to what it labels the "unilateral recognition" of Paleostinian statehood, emphasising that any such agreement must be achieved through direct negotiations, Al Jazeera reported.
The "declaratory decision" brought forth by Netanyahu received unanimous approval in the cabinet. Netanyahu, addressing the weekly meeting, cited recent international discussions suggesting an attempt to unilaterally impose a Paleostinian state on Israel.
The Israeli statement underscores the country's outright rejection of international dictates for a permanent accord with the Paleostinians.
According to Netanyahu's office, any agreement should only arise through direct negotiations without preconditions.
Israel remains steadfast in opposing the unilateral recognition of a Paleostinian state, arguing that such recognition, especially in the aftermath of the October 7th massacre, would reward terrorism significantly and impede future peace efforts.

[NAHARNET] Hezbollah chief Sayyed His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb... on Friday vowed that Israel will "pay in blood" for the killing of civilians in south Leb ...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , as he responded to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant’s threats to strike deep in Lebanon.
"The enemy will pay in blood for the killing of our women and kiddies in Nabatiyeh, Sawwaneh and elsewhere," Nasrallah said in a televised speech marking Hezbollah’s ’Martyr Leaders Day’.
"I will leave the matter to the battlefield," he added.
Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging near-daily fire across the border since the Israel-Hamas ...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... war broke out on October 7. Wednesday was the bloodiest day in more than four months of cross-border exchanges, with 10 civilians and five Hezbollah members including a commander killed.
Hezbollah said it retaliated on Thursday by firing dozens of rockets into the settlement of Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel and Nasrallah reiterated on Friday that it was only an "initial response."
Describing the Nabatiyeh and Sawwaneh strikes as "deliberate massacres," Nasrallah said Israel’s killing of civilians has "a special sensitivity" to Hezbollah.
"The enemy is killing our leaders, jihadists and families and it is destroying our homes, but this will not push us to retreat or give up our responsibilities," he stressed.
"The enemy must know that it went too far by its targeting of civilians," Nasrallah warned.
Responding to threats voiced Thursday by Israel’s defense minister, Nasrallah described Gallant as a "lunatic" and warned that Hezbollah "possesses a massive and precise missile power that enables it to strike from Kiryat Shmona all the way to Eilat" in Israel's far south.
Gallant warned Thursday that Israel "can attack not only at 20 kilometers (from the border), but also at 50 kilometers, and in Beirut and anywhere else."
"Some are talking about the cost of resistance and its consequences in Lebanon, and these people are calling on us to surrender. The truth is that we are before two choices -- resistance or surrender -- and the price of surrender is hefty, dangerous and very critical," Nasrallah added.
The cross-border exchanges have killed at least 268 people on the Lebanese side, most of them Hezbollah fighters but also 40 civilians, according to an AFP tally.
On the Israeli side, 10 soldiers and six civilians have been killed, according to the Israeli army.
