[GEO.TV] An Indian man, who was declared dead by a hospital in Haryana, came back to life on his way for his last rites, NDTV reported on Friday.
Declared dead by doctors, 80-year-old Darshan Singh Brar’s body was being taken in the ambulance to his home in Karnal from Patiala when the car hit a pothole and Brar’s grandson noticed his hand moving on sensing a heartbeat.
He asked the ambulance driver to head to the nearest hospital where the doctors said that he was alive.
Brar's family and friends had already gathered at his home, food had been prepared for the mourners, and wood had been prepared for cremations when the ambulance hit the pothole.
After finding out about Brar being alive, everyone gathered and congratulated his family.
"My brother in Patiala informed us around 9 am on Thursday about our grandfather's death, and he was getting him to Nising in an ambulance for his last rites," Brar’s grandson, Balwan Singh, told the news hounds.

It was purchased illegally or hidden illegally, but the crime remains. It can be profitably seized once we no longer have a CCP asset in the White House.

[FoxNews] A Vermont state police officer was recorded plunging into icy waters to rescue a drowning 8-year-old child.
Vermont State Police released on Friday footage of Trooper Michelle Archer making the daring rescue on Dec. 17.
"There wasn’t a whole lot of thinking going on. Something was taking over – training. It was the opposite of panic," Archer told local outlet Vermont News First.
The 8-year-old and her sibling were playing near or on the frozen surface of a private pond near where they lived when the ice gave way.
An elderly neighbor who was unable to swim managed to help the sibling out of the water before Archer — who was on patrol only minutes away — arrived at the scene.
Archer utilized a flotation device kept in the back of her cruiser to bring the child onto the snowy shore. When the child was on land, she began making noises, alerting the police that she was still alive.
Fellow trooper Keith Cote took the child from Archer and rendered life-saving first aid before rescue teams put her into an ambulance and took her to a nearby hospital.

They had a ton of electric buses in Oslo, Norway recently; emphasis on had. Seems that EV / batteries don't work as advertised in the cold. Anyone of you who used to own a '70's era Dodge Charger and tried starting it in 10 F weather can relate to a degree.
[GEO.TV] William Lai Ching-te of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) won Taiwan's presidential election despite China's warnings not to support him.
After voters ignored Beijing's threats and overwhelmingly supported him in the election, Taiwan's president-elect, Lai Ching-te, pledged on Saturday to protect the self-governing island from "intimidation" by China which claims Taiwan as part of its territory according to AFP.
Following an intense campaign in which he positioned himself as the protector of Taiwan's democratic way of life, Lai — whom Beijing has branded as a threat to peace in the volatile region — secured an unprecedented third consecutive term for the DPP in the poll.
The democratic Taiwan, which is divided from the mainland by a strait measuring 180 kilometres (110 miles), is claimed by Communist China, which is willing to use force to achieve "unification" even in the absence of an immediate threat to peace.

I admit I'm a bit surprised that Beijing isn't better at subversion--running candidates that support them, fomenting demonstrations in Taiwan, etc. They seem to do a fairly good job of it here but can't duplicate it 100 miles away.

[Gateway] The years-long political struggle between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and the European Union seems to be coming to a head.
Conservative champion Orbán is hated with a passion by Brussels for the very same reasons that make us care for him — defense of family values, of a national culture, rejection of Climate Alarmist lunacy and suicidal unchecked mass migration — oh, yes, and the icing on the cake: refusal to finance the proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
The Hungarian PM is also not fond of the EU as it stands now, as we can learn from his already classic assessment:
"Today, things pop up that remind us of the Soviet times. Yes, it happens that history repeats itself. Fortunately, what once was tragedy is now a comedy at best. Brussels is not Moscow. Moscow was a tragedy. Brussels is just a bad contemporary parody."
And so it happens that a group of EU lawmakers want to punish Hungary by moving one step closer to suspending Budapest’s vote in the bloc.
[FORBES] TOPLINE President Joe Biden proposed new taxes on the wealthy in order to lower the federal deficit by $3 trillion over the next five years in his 2024 budget plan unveiled Thursday—but the proposal is expected to face a long negotiating process in Congress, where House Republicans have vowed to drastically reduce federal spending.
KEY FACTS
The $6.8 trillion 2024 spending plan includes $885 billion in defense spending and $1 trillion in non-defense spending, not including mandatory programs like Medicare and Social Security, and aims to reduce the federal deficit by $3 trillion over the next ten years.
The Biden Administration has said that fortifying a key Medicare fund that could run out of money by 2028 is a key priority in this year’s budget—it hopes to achieve that, in part, by imposing a "modest" raise, from 3.8% to 5%, on Medicare surtaxes for those who make more than $400,000 a year.
The plan also includes Biden’s promised "billionaires tax," which would establish a minimum 25% rate for the top 0.01% of earners and include taxes on unrealized capital gains (without taxes on those assets, the White House estimates those earners pay about 8%).
In total, the proposal includes $5 trillion in new revenue from taxes over the next 10 years.
Biden’s proposal faces long odds of passing the Republican-controlled House without significant changes—the GOP has already expressed plans to drastically reduce federal spending on foreign aid, healthcare and housing programs, and members are likely prepping public rebukes of the White House budget as soon as it’s released.
With a slim 222-213 majority in the House, Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) must find a way to appease nearly all of his members to approve a budget plan, while also negotiating with Democrats who control the Senate, in order to pass the legislation before the end of September.

Back in May 2023, we were at $31.8T in national debt and now we stand at $34.04T. So since May of 2023, Biden and the DC SWAMP have added $2.24 Trillion, which is a 7.04% increase in national debt in just 8 months.
Initial Federal Revenue 2024 estimates indicate about $5.1T. So the $6.8+T that Biden/DC Swamp wants to dole out, surprise ....in an Election year. Would add, at a minimum, about another $1.4 + Trillion to the National Debt.
NOTE: See the US Debt Clock for current ghastly increasing debt figures
BTW: The U.S. government has already spent $1.62 trillion in fiscal year 2024.
Or $510 billion more than it has collected so far in fiscal year (FY) 2024.
How many $$$Billions did the Biden Regime give to other countries?
[Gateway] Attorney Ty Clevenger is the bulldog attorney who has been after the DOJ and FBI for years to get to the bottom of the Seth Rich murder.
Clevenger also investigated who supplied the DNC and Podesta emails to the DNC during the 2016 election cycle This was always the key to the Trump-Russia collusion nightmare. No proof was ever offered up by the fake news legacy media, Democrats, or the intelligence community on this scandal. If Russia did not supply the DNC emails to WikiLeaks then this was more proof that the DOJ’s Russia collusion story was a complete lie used to fool the American public.
After years of denying they had anything related to Seth Rich, the FBI and DOJ were caught lying over and over again. In September 2023, a judge finally demanded the FBI and DOJ provide all they had regarding Seth Rich to Attorney Clevenger. The FBI responded requesting another 66 years before releasing the information. They wanted it moved out like the JFK assassination reports.
Then in late November, a Federal Judge ruled the FBI must hand over evidence regarding former DNC employee Seth Rich’s murder to Ty Clevenger.
[AFRICANEWS] With the Pope's approval, African Catholic bishops will not carry out the extra-liturgical blessings proposed for same sex-couples in a declaration issued by the Vatican on what it calls irregular couples. I'm pretty old, by Gum. I can remember when the Pope was Catholic.
The president of the Symposium of the Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) cited "confusion" and a "risk of scandal" in a letter released Thursday (Jan. 11).
The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines scandal as "an attitude or behaviour which leads another to do evil."
Beforehand, SECAM president, Congolese Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo, met with Pope Francis ...Argentine liberation theologist, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio. He was elected pope in 2013. Rather than setting up shop in Avignon, where he belongs, the first Jesuit Pope chose to reside in the Domus Sanctae Marthae guesthouse instead of the papal apartments. He is big on climate change, against consumerism, and in favor of throwing a blanket over homosexual activity within the clergy. He's not real sure about the Resurrection, about Christ's divinity, and a few other things that would have gotten him burned at the stake a few hundred years ago, but he's hot for a certain South American Earth Mother Goddess... to discuss the matter.
The Declaration Fiducia supplicans, published on December 18, opens the possibility of blessing couples whose relationship is not "valid" in the Catholic church, including unmarried couple, divorced-and-remarried couples and same-sex couples.
However, a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... the document issued by the Christian Catholic Church's doctrine bureau and signed by the Pope stirred a controversy among Catholics, some Africans.

[MSN] Scientists in Iceland have come up with an ambitious plan to drill into a volcano's magma chamber to source an abundant amount of clean, super-hot geothermal energy. What could go wrong?
The project, which would be a scientific first if successful, would see boreholes drilled about 1.3 miles down through the earth’s crust at a volcano known as Krafla, located in the northeast of Iceland.
With over 200 volcanoes, Iceland is already a leader in geothermal energy where heat or hot water vapor is extracted and separated into liquid water and steam. The steam is then run through turbines that produce electricity used to power and heat its many greenhouses, used for its high levels of local food production, as well as for heating. Around 90% of homes in Iceland are heated by geothermal energy, according to Energy Transition, a green energy website.

[Military] The U.S. military is looking to equip special operations forces with their longest-range sniper rifle ever fielded in an effort to maintain superiority against Russian and Chinese snipers in a future potential conflict.
According to a new notice published on Dec. 19, 2023, U.S. Special Operations Command is conducting market research for a so-called "Extreme Long Range-Sniper Rifle" (ELR-SR) capable of delivering precise fire at a range of up to 2,500 meters (2,730 yards), or just over a mile-and-a-half.
A modular sniper system capable of using multiple calibers of bullets, the ELR-SR would replace two guns in the U.S. armory: the widely used Barrett M107 .50 caliber sniper rifle, which has an effective range of 2,000 meters (or 2,187 yards), and the Mk 15 sniper rifle that is used primarily by Navy SEALs and has an effective range of 1,800 meters (or 1,970 yards), according to the notice.
For context, the long-standing record for longest-distance sniper shot was achieved by legendary Marine Corps Scout Sniper Carlos Hathcock in Vietnam in 1967 and was at 2,286 meters (or 2,500 yards), albeit set with an M2 .50 caliber machine gun rather than a conventional sniper rifle.
