[Daily Caller] "They say three males were attempting to break into a Secret Service agent’s vehicle in Georgetown, very nice neighborhood, and an agent fired a round at them," Watters said. "The Secret Service says they don’t believe anybody was shot, but they’re not sure. So maybe the Secret Service agent missed, which isn’t so great, or maybe he doesn’t and there’s a dead or injured carjacker somewhere in D.C. courtesy of Naomi Biden’s Secret Service and these three guys are still at large."

More to the story? Why is that? Yes, a rhetorical question of course.
Watched it, twice.
Unusual take on an assassin's mindset.
Very relatable.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] David Fincher's on-screen adaptation of the French graphic novel The Killer has gripped fans and received rave reviews on social media.
The neo-noir R-Rated thriller, which has been in the works since 2007, is modelled on the 1998 French comic book of the same name, by Alex Nolent and artist Luc Jacamon and stars Michael Fassbender as a troubled assassin
It had a limited release in cinemas from 27 October, but just two weeks later, on 10 November, the slow burner was released onto streaming platform Netflix.
Ever since, The Killer has taken social media by storm, with fans deeming it a 'delightful watch' and others considering it their 'favourite movie of the year'.
But such glowing reviews aren't a rarity for Fincher, whose films quickly become cult-classics, such as Fight Club and Zodiac.

I loved Fassbender as Magneto and the cyborg in Prometheus. The Killer was very good, very well made and slightly relatable yes. One of the few good films made in these times. Not a hint of wokery was refreshing. Equalizer 3 was nice too, even if totally over the top.
[Federalist] The last public action performed by John Adams came on June 30, 1826, just a few days before the founder’s death. Asked by George Whitney for a Fourth of July toast, the former president offered, "Independence forever!" No more, no less. You can’t get more American than that. Yet independence is the very thing being choked out of us at an ever-quickening gait. And Congress just gave that horse another sharp kick in the ribs.
The House of Representatives’ failure to spike a federal "kill switch" mandate means that outside of a political miracle, all new vehicles from 2026 onward will be required to incorporate "advanced drunk and impaired driving prevention technology." It will "passively monitor the performance of a driver" and automatically disable the vehicle "if impairment is detected." In other words: You will no longer have control of your car. Some outside entity — human or program — could, at any time, make it inoperable.
Naturally, the message repeaters have assured us that talk of a kill switch is just more right-wing conspiracy theory hyper-frenzy. After all, this is about safety. Think of the lives it will save! No more hit-and-runs caused by drunk drivers. No more near-sighted old codgers not seeing the 12-year-old girl until it was too late. You breathe a word against this wonderful new thing and you out yourself as a monster who wants children dead.
Of course, the elephant in the corner is: What assurance do we have that "impairment" just means drunkenness, drug use — the usual things? What assurance do we have that this narrow definition will never be widened? "Impairment" means whatever they say it means.
We now live in a world where the Department of Justice describes parents objecting to porn being read in classrooms and kept in school libraries as "domestic terrorists"; where FBI swat teams in full Robocop beat down the doors of Catholic, pro-life activists as if they were drug lords; where clear cases of self-defense are prosecuted as hate crimes; where lawyers are arrested and duck walked through county jails for the audacity of representing a client the Borg hates; and where people with regime-opposite opinions/affiliations are described as "f-cking animals" before being personally threatened and given the photobomb treatment.
Does anyone think "impairment" won’t be widened so the Borg can punish its enemies more? Especially when its members are openly talking about the need for Republicans, Trump voters, and conservatives to be "reprogrammed"? Sure, some of these people, like David Atkins and Katie Couric are small potatoes and nobodies. But Nikole Hannah-Jones, the Lady Frankenstein who won a Pulitzer for creating a freakazoid fantasy of American history that’s now being taught to grade schoolers? Hillary Clinton? If these power reservoirs are making this sentiment public, the vast layers beneath them in the left’s hierarchy are openly salivating for it. Redefinitions of the word will be cheered by them.
Since "impairment" probably will be redefined by the Borg, the kill switch is perfectly positioned to be weaponized in the future, another wheel in the social credit system in the process of being built here at home. Express an "extremist" view on Facebook? That might mean a week with a non-functioning car. Does your banking history show you donated to Ron DeSantis, Donald Trump, your local pro-life group, or even just your church (the one that still hatefully insists marriage is between a man and a woman)? You might be too dangerous to let on the road.
Americans will then be faced with a stark choice: Hold fast to their convictions or dilute them to gain the privilege of driving. And if you are still dependent on your car to go to work (you’re not going to live in a 15-minute city), or need to drive 200 miles to see your parents or your kids, what choice are you going to make?
But even if the kill switch were simply about saving lives and "impairment" were forever narrowly defined, implementing it would still be a dagger to independence. Today, the onus for being a responsible driver is on you. No fairy godfather prevents us from texting and driving, no good witches of the interstate protect us against highway hypnosis, no cricket with a top hat appears to warn us not to drink before sliding into the driver’s seat. Instead, we have to do what we ought and not what we want.
Unsurprisingly, this was the idea of freedom held by the founders, by Lincoln, by John Paul II, and pretty much every ordinary American through the first half of the 20th century. More importantly, according to these men, independence could only be maintained among a population that believed in, cherished, and strove for this idea of freedom. When cars without Kill Switches are outlawed. Only outlaws will have cars without Kill Switches.

Wife is wanting to replace our 2011 RAV4 (with 160,000+ miles) and I was trying, but I can't find anything I want to own (at any price), so will just try to keep this one going. (It's getting its second brake job tomorrow...)

How long before 'bad actors' start causing multi-car accidents on the highways? How long before mechanics start 'accidentally' breaking the kill switch for an under the table cash fee?
[ZERO] Who doesn’t love the big 3 multibillion dollar Fortune 500 pharmacies: Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid? For years, they’ve brought us convenience as they invaded towns across the United States, pushing Main Street independent mom-and-pop pharmacies out of business.
Retail pharmacies across the United States are at a breaking point.
Profit targets, cost cutting, and inflation have led to the "big 3" shuttering over 1,500 pharmacies across the United States. (1) The past 2 years have been especially brutal. Supply chain shortages, theft, pharmacist strikes, and financial penalties for Big Pharma’s role in the opioid crisis continue to force the closure of at least one pharmacy in the United States per day.
Middle-Class Americans again left holding the bag.
A new reality is here to stay: over 40% of counties in the United States now live in a complete "pharmacy desert" - meaning that every resident needs to drive at least 15 minutes to get to the closest pharmacy. Moreover, over 80% of counties in the US now lack adequate healthcare infrastructure. (2) If you need medical help quickly, living in the United States could cost you dearly.

CVS closed several locations in our area due to high theft rates. Strangely many were located once upper end apartment complexes that became Section 8A housing.
Rite-Aid??? Haven't seen a open store around here in years.
BTW: CVS purchased our retiree insurer AETNA, back around late 2018. The Drug max out of pocket increased and co-pay prices also were bumped up.

The pharmacies are being hit by the same thing that got mom and pop food stores. Big guys who can wait you out.

read that last paragraph - about 40% of the counties and drives of over 15 minutes.
If you check the population density west of the Mississippi that would be normal.
[ZERO] While first the "we stand with Ukraine" provided a decent distraction, it didn’t stop the wave of awakening taking place globally.
Now, with the "I stand with Israel," we’ve the same issue.
Despite the hits of distraction coming thick and fast, more and more medical professionals are waking up to the only conclusion one can come to upon surveying the facts. That a great medical crime has been committed.
Following on from what Dr. Buckhaults testified, we have the Canadians now casually admitting that yes, there is DNA in the jabs. Sorry about that!

Once again those labeled as Tin Foil Conspiracy Hats by the State-Media, have been very quietly found right and vindicated.
However, those that "accidentally" released the Covid-19, plus Pfizer and those that hid the truth about the vaccine "already developed" for this NEW virus. All raked in Mega $$$ millions, while even forcing BILLIONS to repeatedly take the VAX shot.
Given we are talking over 690+ Million world wide died from Covid-19/23 and likely ### million died, or were seriously injured by the Vax Shot due to known and hidden, clot inducing issues.
WITH ALL THAT SAID and slapping us the public in the face. NOT 1 person has stood trial for Crimes Against Humanity.
[FoxNews] In the aftermath of another disappointing election night for Republicans, questions need to be asked about supposedly non-partisan get-out-the-vote (GOTV) operations Democrats are using to ensure their low-propensity voters — and only their low-propensity voters — get to the polls.
On March 7, 2021, Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting, President Biden instructed every federal agency to submit a plan to leverage their agency’s personnel and assets to help turn out the vote. For example, agencies might use internal data to identify aid recipients who are not registered to vote, then use agency personnel to get them registered and ensure their ballot is cast and counted.
Anyone who criticizes GOTV efforts gets accused of wanting to suppress voting. But it’s not voting to which we should object — it’s the exclusive collection of ballots from Democratic voting blocks.
Citing the need for "equity," Biden’s order explicitly directed agencies to target Black and Native American communities, Hispanic and Latino voters, "civil rights and disability rights advocates," convicted felons, and voters who work for the federal government.
What does each of these voting blocs have in common? As I explained in my book, "The Puppeteers," all of these groups have a long history of lopsided support for Democrats. One of the reasons the left is so good at getting low-propensity voters to the polls may be because they’ve figured out how to make taxpayers fund their GOTV operations.
So, what did these agencies do ahead of the 2022, 2023, and the upcoming 2024 election? Taxpayers don’t get to know that. The Biden administration has refused to disclose the plans submitted by hundreds of federal agencies, claiming executive privilege prevents their release.
Freedom of Information Act lawsuits are in the courts, but the executive privilege claim by Biden is slowing the release of the action plan. Why so secretive if it is so good and important?
That secrecy argument is bogus on its face. But it may take ongoing lawsuits years to force their disclosure. Meanwhile Democrats are winning elections with the help of more than 2 million federal employees.

What republicans don't understand is that the bureaucracy is not a tool of the democratic party, democratic party is the tool of the bureaucracy. You, really, really should read Milovan Djilas' The New Class.
And John Kenneth Galbraith's The Affluent Society.
It is basically now too late to save the Hamas formations in Gaza and the left, unable to rescue the battalions, will try to pluck out the symbolic colors. The IDF will soon conduct tours of tunnels under hospitals, and the left will proclaim: Hamas is dead, long live Hamas.

Hamas is a symptom and not the underlying disease. If destroyed another malignant variant will arise ...still weeding this particularly garden is a worthwhile endeavor.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.

the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
