[MAIL] A teenage girl was allegedly killed in a murder-suicide two days before her 18th birthday by her 'violent' ex-boyfriend after seeking a no-contact order.
Serenity Hawley, 17, from Blacksburg, Virginia, was shot dead in a suspected murder-suicide just days before she would have turned 18.
The high school senior had sought a no-contact order from her former boyfriend Croney Monk two weeks prior because her ex was allegedly harassing and blackmailing her.
Monk allegedly shot Hawley in the chest before turning the gun on himself on Tuesday, the teenage girl's family told 10 News.
Her heartbreaking death was discovered when the bodies of both teens were found in Hawley's car in a parking lot, the Roanoke Times reported.

[Axios] G/O Media said Thursday that it's suspending its female-focused brand Jezebel and laying off 23 editorial staffers as part of a broader restructuring.
Why it matters: The cuts are the latest in a string of changes G/O Media has made to its portfolio in recent years amid volatility in the digital media industry.
Catch up quick: G/O Media, the parent to niche consumer websites including Gizmodo, Kotaku and The Root, laid off 13 staffers in June. The company sold its lifestyle website Lifehacker to Ziff Davis in March.
Last month, Axios reported that the company was trying to sell Jezebel.
Details: In a memo to staff Thursday, G/O Media CEO Jim Spanfeller said the company will restructure "a good number of our teams (eliminating some positions while adding some others), rethinking our editorial management structure and making a very painful change to our portfolio." More at the link

About ten years too late. The damage has been done. They taught a generation of women to hate men and view any man who wants a traditional family as a hate crime. This won't change anytime soon.
Not long ago, I phoned the wife of a recently departed old friend to pass along a kind word or two. She immediately launched into a tirade of a local man who dropped by for a visit and sat in her lawn chair a bit too long. The implications were quite obvious. I wished her the best and discreetly ended the call.

[Jerusalem Post] The theory: Jews are so successful because of the values of Rabbinic Judaism
They hesitate to offer explanations about why this happens. Eisen considers and dismisses academic explanations based on economic or sociological theory, as well as non-academic explanations, such as that Jews are "smarter" than others or that Jews are "conniving" or "more devious" than others.
His central argument is that classical Rabbinic Judaism promoted four values more than other Western religions did: respect for human autonomy; belief in freedom of thought and expression; the conviction that life in this world is inherently good; and respect for education.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] SYPHILIS: The above map shows the % change in syphilis cases by state between 2017 and 2021. The disease is exploding across the US after reaching such low levels in 2001 that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggested it could be eradicated.
The increase is consistent with national data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which has found STDs like syphilis and gonorrhea increasing year after year.
The surge could be due to a lack of access to contraceptives shown to reduce STD risk, like condoms, which are discouraged in the state's largely religious population.
About 60 percent of Utah residents are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly known as the Mormon church. Just under half of those in Salt Lake County identify as Mormon.
According to state health data, syphilis cases in women increased by 800 percent between 2018 and 2022, multiplying from three cases to 27. Experts expect that number to double this year.
Of the cases, 89 percent were in women ages 15 to 44.
Figures from the CDC found that 3,761 babies were born in the US with the condition in 2022, up from 335 in 2012.

[GEO.TV] Australian cattle producer Colin Deveraux faced a life-threatening encounter with a crocodile and emerged victorious by biting back the crocodile.
Deveraux, heading towards the Finniss River for fencing work, stopped by a lake where he observed unusual fish behaviour. Approaching the water, a crocodile suddenly latched onto his right foot, shaking him violent mostly peacefully and dragging him into the water.
Talking about the incident to ABC News Deveraux said: "I was in such an awkward position... but by accident, my teeth caught his eyelid. It was pretty thick, like holding onto leather, but I jerked back on his eyelid and he let go.
"I leapt away and took off with great steps up to where my car was. He chased me for a bit, maybe four metres, but then stopped."
Mr Deveraux said he used a towel and some rope to stop the bleeding in his leg before his brother drove him 130km (80 miles) north to the Royal Darwin Hospital.
"If he [the crocodile] had bitten me somewhere else it would have been different," he said.
"It means I've got to change what I do. I've been walking around that swamp country too long fixing fences and living life, but it's opened my eyes."
The entire ordeal unfolded in approximately eight seconds. Once freed, Deveraux swiftly escaped the situation, leaping away with the crocodile trailing behind for a short distance before stopping.
Despite the escape, Deveraux suffered an open wound on his right leg from the crocodile bite. Recognising the urgency, he improvised a makeshift tourniquet using a towel and rope to address the bleeding.
Subsequently, he was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital, located 80 miles away, by his brother for treatment.
Deveraux's leg required intensive care due to infection from the murky waters where the crocodile emerged. Over ten days, the wound was diligently flushed to prevent further complications.

Finniss River
The Finniss River is a river south of Darwin, running west from the flank of Mount Minza, passing north of Litchfield National Park and flowing into the sea at Fog Bay.
The Finniss River is well known as a popular fishing spot to catch the famous and highly prized catching and eating fish the Barramundi. The river is also home to a large number of saltwater crocodiles. In July 1979 the river was also the home of Sweetheart, a 17 foot long saltwater crocodile. Rangers captured Sweetheart but he died of accidental drowning during transportation. He is preserved and exhibited in Darwin at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.
[Federalist] The Department of Justice and FBI pride themselves on being the top federal agencies to investigate and prosecute the perpetrators of hate crimes. Their zeal for tracking down racists and targeting Americans based on fabricated white supremacy allegations apparently stops, however, when it comes to classifying the type of anti-white crimes that occurred at Covenant School earlier this year.
On March 27, 2023, Audrey Hale,
...who was clearly mentally ill, a situation not helped by her female to male transition...
a woman masquerading as a man, shot and killed three children and three staff at a Christian grade school before local police took her out.
Even though the ambush bore several telltale signs of a hate crime, the identity-obsessed ruling class passed on consoling the Christians mourning the slaughter to stand in solidarity with trans-identifying Americans like Hale.
Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake told reporters shortly after the massacre that it was a "targeted attack." However, MNPD, along with the Tennesse Bureau of Investigation and the FBI, repeatedly refused to release the manifesto detailing Hale’s motives.

Similar in that they are bat wing. You might note the B-21 does not have the "sawtooth" trailing airframe lines of the B-2. This plane is also cheaper and less problematic to manufacture in serious quantities. Needless to say, its internals apply lots of lessons learned from the over 40-year-old design of the B-2.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
