[NYPOST] Disturbing surveillance footage showed a man open fire inside a Queens restaurant on Saturday afternoon.
Several patrons at the Boishakhi Restaurant at 29-14 36th Ave. in Long Island City
...apparently Bengali/Bengladeshi cuisine, which may have something to do with it...
scurried to safety after the gunman in a red hoodie fired off several rounds, the video shows.
A man steps away from the gunman is seen dragging a child down a nearby staircase to safety.
One male victim, 35, was shot in the buttocks at the Bangladeshi restaurant, cops said.
Nobody else was injured and police said they weren’t sure if the man was the intended target or what the motive was.
In the video at the link, the miscreant appeared to sweep past the cash register without stopping to collect the cash, which is certainly suggestive.
However, a hangover is the wrath of grapes... in the video, the perpetrator appears to seek out the victim — who tried to barricade behind the register — before he ran from the shooter.

[Regnum] Seven people were killed and two were injured in an attack by armed attackers on a hostel in the South African city of Umlazi. This was reported on June 3 by the press service of the local police.
It is specified that nine men aged 20 to 40 were in one of the hostel rooms and consumed alcoholic beverages. Unexpectedly, armed unknown men burst into the hostel, opened fire on the company, and then fled the scene.
Sounds like South Africa — a violent place.
Seven victims died on the spot, two more were hospitalized with severe injuries.
The motives of the attackers who attacked the hostel are unknown. The police launched an investigation into the causes and circumstances of the incident.
Earlier, IA Regnum reported that during the mass protests that began in Senegal after the conviction of local opposition leader Ousmane Sonko , at least nine people were killed.
[NYPOST] Authorities are investigating if the mysterious deaths of six women whose remains were found in and around Portland, Oregon over the past six months are connected and if a serial killer is on the loose.
The bodies of the half dozen women were found within 100 miles of each other on the sides of roads, in the woods or in secluded rural areas from February through last month, KGW8 reported.
Five different law enforcement agencies are investigating the women’s deaths — and at least three of the agencies have said they are working with the others to determine if the cases could be connected and have a single perpetrator, according to officials and the local publication.
In the most recent case, 22-year-old Ashley Real was found dead in a heavily wooded area near Eagle Creek on May 7 after she was last seen at a transit center in late March.
Another woman, Joanna Speaks also vanished in late March and her body was found in a rural area of Clark County on April 8. She died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office which declared her death a homicide.

[NYPOST] Police in Florida arrested one man Saturday and announced arrest warrants for two others believed to be the button men who opened fire along a crowded beachside promenade on Memorial Day, wounding nine people.
The Hollywood Police Department said authorities arrested Jordan Burton and are searching for Ariel Cardahn Paul and Lionel JeanCharles Jr.
The suspects will be charged with one count of attempted murder in the first degree, eight counts of attempted murder in the second degree and one count of carrying a concealed firearm, police said in a news release.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Burton has hired an attorney
Two other men who police say were involved in the altercation that led to the shooting have already been arrested on firearms charges.
Police and witnesses said the shooting began as a group of people fought in front of a busy stretch of shops on the Hollywood Oceanfront Broadwalk.
Bystanders frantically ran for cover as gunshots rang out during the busy holiday weekend at the beach destination just south of Fort Lauderdale.
Seven of the nine people injured in the shooting have been released from the hospital, police said.
Two others are still recovering in the hospital.

Barbara Rumpel, an NRA leader and conservative donor, confirmed her daughter and granddaughter died in the crash
Virginia State Police confirmed to DailyMail.com that no survivors have been located from the private jet crash
'My family is gone, my daughter and granddaughter,' Rumpel wrote in the comments of a post sharing her attendance at an NRA conference
The flight had prompted the Pentagon to scramble an interceptor fighter jet after it became unresponsive and flew close to both the US Capitol building and the White House at around 3.30pm Sunday.
Virginia State Police confirmed to DailyMail.com that the wreckage was not found until over four hours later, at around 8pm Sunday. There were no survivors among the four on board and the search was eventually suspended.
Rumpel's husband John, claimed that his 'entire family' was on the plane.
Rumpel claimed that his family was heading back to their home in East Hampton on Long Island after visiting him in North Carolina.
The flight did a U-Turn over Washington DC on its flightpath while heading toward New York. NORAD aircraft used flares to try and draw attention from the pilot.
Flight tracking sites showed the jet suffered a rapid spiraling descent, dropping at one point at a rate of more than 30,000 feet per minute before crashing in the St. Mary's Wilderness.
Rumpel told the New York Times of his family members' likely last moments, saying 'they all just would have gone to sleep and never woke up.'
The plane that crashed was registered to Encore Motors of Melbourne Inc, which is owned by the Rumpels.
John Rumpel, a pilot, told the newspaper he didn't have much information from authorities but hoped his family didn't suffer and suggested the plane could've lost pressurization.
'I don't think they've found the wreckage yet,' Rumpel told the newspaper. 'It descended at 20,000 feet a minute, and nobody could survive a crash from that speed.'
Somebody doesn't remember sonic booms.
[FoxNews] The Associated Press reported that the Cessna was registered to Encore Motors of Melbourne Inc. John Rumpel, who runs the company, told The New York Times his daughter, 2-year-old granddaughter, her nanny and the pilot were on the plane.
Rumpel said they were returning to their home in East Hampton, New York, after visiting him in North Carolina.

Riddle: If six planes are launched to intercept, would only one plane go supersonic and leave the pack behind?
Or would all planes go supersonic to intercept?
Rantburg, what is the Air Force / NORAD Protocol in these matters?
I ask because only One Sonic Boom was heard / registered. And I dont see how all the planes would synchronize their Sonic Booms. The math does not add up for me.

Nationwide backlash over the video — which unleashed a firestorm when it was posted April 1, showing Mulvaney holding a Bud Light can while taking a bubble bath
...pretending to be a fake girl in real bubbles, appealing to no one in particular — though he has definitely mastered period costume and make-up...
— sparked anxiety and confusion inside Captiv8’s offices during the initial days of the controversy, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
"There was a lot of chatter" among employees about what blowback the firm might face over the botched campaign, according to the source.

I had a Rantapalooza here in March of 213. Lots of friends who are not Rantburgers showed up as well as Alaska Paul, Dave D, Brer Rabbit, and 49 Pan. Some of my female friends told me they drank Bud Light so I bought 2 12 packs. Only a few were consumed. I had forgotten about the Bud Light on the bottom shelf of my liquor cabinet until 3 of them blew open. Now I don't know what to do with the rest. Target practice with my AR-15?

[NYPOST] Target has seen a significant drop in its market value as the retail giant faces a consumer firestorm over the displaying of pride merchandise in stores around the nation.
This controversy follows a boycott against Bud Light due to their decision to market products with transgender social media influencer Dylan Stench of Death Mulvaney ...the transexual influencer who single-handedly trashed a major American beer brand owned by a Belgian company, tainted Maybelline and Condé Nast, and then demanded that anybody who called him/her/it a man be arrested... Former Target Vice Chairman Gerald Storch joined "Fox & Friends Weekend" and revealed the one item that "made the difference" against the competition and sparked the backlash.
He explained that many retailers carry pride merchandise, "you know, the plates that had different colors in it. Fine. You show the rainbow, you know, a gingerbread house, whatever you are, that’s all you know. Who cares? Everybody carries that stuff."
Storch targeted one item from the store’s pride collection that set it apart from its competition and ignited the consumer firestorm.
"I’ve never seen a case where one item, that tuck swimsuit, that’s really what made the difference versus the competitors. That’s where the big mistake [was] made," said the former Target executive.

[Blaze] Government officials in Ireland are considering a plan to kill 200,000 cows to combat climate change, according to reports.
There were multiple reports this week that the Irish government was contemplating a plan to cull 200,000 cows within three years to fight climate change. The Irish Mirror stated that "the cows would have to be 'culled' at a cost of €600,000 to taxpayers over the next three years to meet climate emissions targets."
The possible plan was detailed in an internal Department of Agriculture document that was unearthed in a freedom of information request.
The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association immediately railed against the reported plan to kill 200,000 cows.
Pat McCormack — the president of the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association — declared, "If there is to be a scheme, it needs to be a voluntary scheme. That’s absolutely critical because there’s no point in culling numbers from an individual who has borrowed on the back of a huge financial commitment on the back of achieving a certain target that’s taken from under him."
"We should be investing in an infrastructure that can deliver from a scientific perspective. And we know low emissions are better and we should be continuing to invest in further science and research because that’s absolutely critical as we move forward," McCormack said, according to the Irish Times. It's not Scientific. It's a religion
McCormack claimed that Ireland's current dairy herd is at the same level that it was 30 years ago. The Irish Mirror reported, "Dairy cows rose 1.4 percent (22,800 head) to 1.6 million in 2022 but over the past decade have increased by around 40 percent."
After the report of the government contemplating the slaughter of tens of thousands of cows surfaced, the country's agriculture department issued a statement.

I wonder how much CO2 a cow emits compared to your average Irishman? At least we can eat the cows. From the climate change point of view, the Irish are essentially 'useless emitters', to coin a phrase.

[Regnum] The US will face a recession that will last from the second half of 2023 until early 2024. Such a forecast was made by Bank of America Brian Moynihan on CBS on June 4 .
"Basically, this is a moderate recession in the third quarter and fourth quarter of this year," he said.
We’ve been in a recession for ages, making it more thana bit late to predict one. And it hasn’t been moderate, either.
According to the forecast of the bank's specialists, during this period, unemployment in the country will rise to 4%.
Late last year, Bank of America predicted that a recession should have begun by now.
In May, the head of the US Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell , also said that the country was facing a recession. He expressed hope that the economic downturn will be mild.
American investor Jim Rogers predicted a "terrifying" recession not only for the US, but also for Europe. In his opinion, many banks will go bankrupt due to the fact that the economy of many countries is in poor condition.

[BEE] WASHINGTON, D.C. — Biden sought to calm fears over his health following a nasty spill on stage last week in an address to the nation, which he delivered while wearing a blue padded helmet.
"Listen, folks, thanks to this nifty new hat I'm wearing, you don't have to worry about my health or safety anymore," said the President. "I've already fallen twelve times this morning and didn't feel anything! I feel fit as a fiddle and ready for my luncheon with Eleanor Roosevelt this afternoon! Not a joke!"
Sources within the White House say they have taken further precautions to protect the president from damage related to his lack of coordination, arthritis, peripheral neuropathy, dementia, incontinence, cancer, and shingles--including limiting the President's work day to 30 minutes in the morning and wrapping him in bubble wrap whenever they transport him. "Nothing to worry about here," said gay black Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who is gay and black. "I have never seen a more healthy person in my entire life."
At publishing time, the White House was forced to take further precautions after the President attempted to eat his new helmet.
