[FoxNews] The now-former mayor of College Park, Maryland, was arrested on child pornography charges Thursday morning, adding to a long list of mayors accused of preying on young children while exploiting the trust of their communities.
Patrick Wojahn, 47, is charged with 40 counts of possession of child exploitative material and 16 counts of distribution of child exploitative material, according to Prince George's County Police.
Wojahn, who was elected mayor of College Park in November 2015 after serving as a city council member since 2007, submitted his letter of resignation Wednesday night, city officials said. Treacher notes Wojahn is close friends with Mayor Pete. Hmmmmm Continued on Page 49
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]...who claim ex-president was 'rude and short' and 'talked down' to soldiers
Secret Service agents revealed Jimmy Carter, 98, who has announced he is entering hospice care at home, was nothing like his smiling, friendly image
Behind the scenes, the 39th president would treat his secret service detail like they 'weren't there' or 'were bothering him', and 'talked down to the military'
Despite his 'phony' public façade, Carter is being hailed as a humble president who championed the working man, as he lives out his final days in hospice care

Jimmy Carter's greatest accomplishment was ushering in Ronald Reagan for 2 terms. Other than that the American taxpayer funded a simple life for him and his wife. It probably turns out to about $200K per wood project for Habitat for Humanity.

On the one hand, I didn’t care to hear from Mother Theresa’s detractors upon her death. On the other hand, I didn’t care for the nobody can speak against McCain because he’s dead policy. From a policy standpoint, I liked nothing that Carter did after he was voted out. He seemed inept when he was in office. I support what he did regarding Desert One. For what they had at the time, I thought it was a good shot. He may have been a jerk, but his presidency seemed to be less consequential with regard to the Deep State as opposed to Nixon creating the DOE and EPA. In 50 years he is Millard Fillmore. People will write books about his importance. No one will read those books.
I submit this as his epitaph.

It's worth remembering he was a sort of inflection point. Before him, there were lots of "conservative" democrats. After, fewer all the time until we get to the ravening progressive horde of today.
If Nixon hadn't f*cked up, Carter would probably never have been president.

You sort of wonder what the road looks like after the shark has been jumped and the network refuses to pull the plug. My speculation, because I refuse to watch their trailer, is Tinkerbell cast as transgender - not on the level of the Canadian shop teacher’s Z cup drag, more like the skinny kid that monitors the self checkout at my local WalMart.

Who knew Walt build his pièce de résistance on the largest sinkhole in Florida?
Article from 2014, but useful to understand 3dc’s Related link, below..
Be careful what you send in the mail, because the U.S. Postal Service could be watching you. A revealing New York Times report sheds light on a little-known investigation tool that may be affecting more Americans than previously thought. Drawing information from a 2014 audit, the report states that in 2013 alone, the U.S. Postal Service approved nearly 50,000 requests to monitor Americans' mail at the request of law enforcement agencies and the USPS' own law enforcement arm, the Postal Inspection Service. Sounds like a violation right off the bat, right? In actuality, the investigation tool, called mail covers, has been used for decades, but it's far from being a perfect system.
The NYT story is based on an audit report posted to the website of the USPS' Office of Inspector General (OIG). The audit reveals that in the 2013 fiscal year alone, the USPS fulfilled 49,000 mail covers requests, which are justified when they can help provide evidence in a criminal investigation. However, the OIG found that the process often lacked efficiency or adequate controls to prevent violation or abuse of the system. Furthermore, many of the requests were approved even though the law enforcement agencies did not follow the OIG's required protocol.
The audit's figure of 49,000 requests is a significant jump from the 15,000 to 20,000 that officials had previously told the NYT about last year. So it's more widely used than we previously thought, but how do mail covers, which, according to the paper, are over a century old, work exactly?
WHAT IS A MAIL COVER?
Mail covers is the name of an investigation tool used by the USPS in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, such as the FBI and local police departments. Mail covers record information from the outside of letters and packages (names, return addresses, etc.) before they are delivered. That information is then sent back to the requesting agency.
According to the Internal Revenue Service, mail cover requests can only be made for primary or subject criminal investigations; they cannot be made for misdemeanor violations alone. Also, law enforcement agencies must obtain a search warrant if they intend to open the package and examine the contents.

And if you believe the rumors, fingerprints as well.
I guess if we are re-defining everything, might as well redefine Going Postal
Begs the question: that warrant needed, is it needed if the USPS itself does the search? A sort of because it was freely handed to us, we have jurisdiction?

Makes sense, especially in this age of porch pirate as vocation. Along those lines, like that the freight people are taking pictures of deliveries; sure is a lot more fun that playing I said/He said with pallets wraps.
I believe the concern at the time was that during Obama's 2nd term institutions and procedures being put into place might eventually be used against political rivals and enemies.
I think Robert Michels did some thinking about that.

Screen shot of the app sure looks like it.
From under one of the tabs: Informed Delivery is a free service from USPS that shows you preview images of incoming mail, as well as status updates about your incoming and outbound packages.
Says it sends a B/W scan pic of mailed item, plus transit history and status.
Looks like it does what the other delivery services does, such as 'Brown'. I was the recipient of a wrong address parcel; next day it was picked up and I guess sent to the correct address, all on the senders side complete with a phone call -don't open that please!-.

It would also suggest that mail-in ballots could be traced back to a point of origin and highlighting such shenanigans such as multiple entries from a single address, unless things are kept so generic as to prevent such tracking, such as drop-off kiosks unless its true that fingerprints are also scanned.

House Judiciary chairman Rep. Jim Jordan and House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Mike Turner on Wednesday demanded 29 CIA officials who took part in the effort to discredit the New York Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop appear for transcribed interviews and disclose documentation of their widely debunked claims.
The Republican lawmakers wrote the CIA officials and requested they sit for transcribed interviews and "arrange for the production of the outstanding material."
In the letters, the Republicans noted the officers’ attempt to discredit the New York Post’s report by Emma-Jo Morris that revealed the Biden family engaged in foreign business affairs while President Joe Biden was a U.S. official. The infamous and widely debunked letter was released in a Politico story by reporter Natasha Bertrand, titled "Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say."
Months following the Politico story, many establishment media organizations, personalities, and Democrat lawmakers then used the Politico article and letter to discount the revelations from Hunter’s laptop, such as those about corruption that allegedly involve now-President Biden.
"This request, to include a request for a transcribed interview before the Committees, remains outstanding. These documents and your testimony are necessary to further our oversight," the lawmakers wrote. "As we begin the 118th Congress, we write again to reiterate our outstanding request and ask that you immediately comply in full."
"You have been on notice about our oversight request—and aware the request is outstanding—for months. For your convenience, we have attached the letter from the Judiciary Committee dated April 6, 2022. To date, you have not complied with this request. Accordingly, we reiterate our requests and ask that you comply promptly," the Republicans said.
The letter comes as House Republicans are ratcheting up investigations into the Biden family. The House Oversight Committee is probing into the family business regarding nine violations, including money laundering and wire fraud. Subpoenas remain outstanding, however.
Hunter is also under investigation by Joe Biden’s Justice Department for tax and gun violations. On Wednesday, Attorney General Merrick Garland admitted he would personally have to authorize any potential charges against Hunter. Garland has refused to appoint a special prosecutor in the investigation to avoid a conflict of interest between the Biden family and himself.

I don’t think they can compel them unless they have flipped back into the Biden government in the endless grafty recycle. There are hardball techniques like blocking promotions and funding that would smoke out some cockroaches. My expectation is that we will see a lot of hardball talk and coach pitch action out of McCarthy and crew.

[NYPOST] Far-left Rep. Cori Bush ...a member of the progressive Squad. Born in St. Louis, Bush represents Missouri's 1st congressional district that includes all of the city of St. Louis and a large part of northern St. Louis County. Cori sez America is Racist AF... was slapped with a Federal Election Commission complaint Thursday after it was revealed that her campaign paid her now-husband to provide security — even though he didn’t have the required license.
The nonpartisan Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) requested that FEC acting general counsel Lisa Stevenson investigate whether the congresswoman — a vocal advocate of the "Defund the police" movement — "used campaign funds for personal use" when she shelled out $60,000 last year for the services of Cortney Merritts, whom Bush (D-Mo.) married in February.
"It appears Rep. Bush’s campaign may have made payments for services that were unnecessary or above fair market value because of her personal relationship with the payee," FACT executive director Kendra Arnold wrote in the complaint. "If so, these payments would qualify as either impermissible payments to a family member or an impermissible gift.
"Therefore, we request the FEC investigate whether Rep. Bush converted campaign funds for personal use by paying a salary that was not for bona fide services at fair market value," FACT wrote. "Ultimately, if one or more campaign laws are found to have been broken, we request the FEC hold the respondents accountable."

[NYPOST] A Michigan mom whose two sons died of fentanyl overdoses has slammed President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. The nincompoop who dumped Afghanistan. The copier doesdn't exist that could reelect him....... as "despicable" after he laughed off the false claim that his administration was to blame for their deaths.
Rebecca Kiessling, whose sons Caleb, 20, and Kyler, 18, died in July 2020 after taking fentanyl-laced Percocet pills, took aim at Biden on Wednesday night after he used her family’s story to knock GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s suggestion he was responsible for the fatalities.
"This is how you speak about the death of my sons? Because a congresswoman misspoke? You mock the loss of my sons?" Kiessling said in a scathing video posted on Facebook.
Kiessling had testified before the House Homeland Security Committee on Tuesday about the loss of her sons, telling Congress that more should be done to stop fentanyl imports.
Greene (R-Ga.) quickly seized on Kiessling’s testimony, suggesting that the brothers might still be alive if the Biden administration, the guys that caused the debacle in Afghanistan ...the pack of self-imagined masterminds of strategy and intrigue at the service of the Biden Crime Family and a grateful nation... had secured the border and stopped the flow of drugs into the US.
Biden, 80, poked fun at Greene on Wednesday night, chuckling as he told a gathering of House Democrats in Baltimore that the boys died under the Trump administration.
"I’ve read she was very specific recently saying that a mom, a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that I killed her sons. Well, the interesting thing: That fentanyl they took came during the last administration," the president said, adding a "heh-heh" as one or two audience members murmured in disapproval of Greene.
A furious Kiessling said she was "shocked" at Biden’s reaction and demanded an apology from the commander-in-chief.
"How dare you. What is the matter with you? Almost every Democrat on the committee offered condolences, they at least had the decency to do that," she said in the video. "You can’t even do that? You have to mock my pain?"
While Kiessling acknowledged that her sons died six months before Biden was elected, she slammed the government’s handling of the fentanyl crisis ever since.

Laughing at a mother's grief indicates he is a sociopath. Laughing at the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, like his own son, who made mistakes with illicit drugs shows clearly that he doesn't care. He should know enough to at least act like he's concerned while the cameras roll. It's a sign of creeping dementia that he can't. Normal humans don't laugh about these things.

In 2016 the opiate epidemic was so bad in the Youngstown area where I worked, that we were calling calling cab services to transport injured or ill employees to the ER or Urgent Care. Ambulance service became impossible for non life threatening issues. Trump policies largely alleviated that epidemic. I work somewhere now, so I don’t know if Joe’s policy rewind has brought back the bad old days.
In that environment, I can understand the frustration of a mom that previously has lost children to fentanyl. Joe’s policies certainly have increased the amount of that drug crossing the border by a factor of 5 to 10. The fact that the media is not showing graphs of fentanyl deaths is an indication that those graphs would not favor Joe.
In response to the issue that fentanyl is flooding across an open border, Joe has made a rhetorical jab at MTG. It is no surprise to normal people, that his jab has provoked the mother who has two empty seats at her Thanksgiving table. She is trying to make a difference in honor of her dead sons and has, instead, been answered with a Capitol Hill quip. She will not be getting a plan or answers out of the Administration because the only effective solution would be to reverse policy. The next response by the administration will be to smear the her. They have to.
