[Gateway] Last week, hours before the council unanimously voted to pass D.C.’s controversial criminal code reform, a criminal justice policy advocate who helped pass the bill was fatally shot and killed, Washington Post reported.
Kelvin Blowe, 32, was shot dead after a car crash just before 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Washington, DC.
Blowe is a member of DC Justice Lab, an organization that advocates for criminal justice reform in DC’s criminal legal system.
On the same day, the city council unanimously approved a bill he supported that reduced penalties for criminal offenses like robbery, burglary, carjacking, and firearm possession without a license.
The Washington Post reports Blowe had spent over five years in prison for robbery, and the experience "instilled in him a passion to right inequities he believed he encountered."
After getting out, he joined DC Justice Lab, one of the groups that pushed to overhaul the city’s criminal code. He testified in support of the proposed bill in December.
The Marine Corps veteran, who was diagnosed with PTSD, was working as a security guard and was taking coworkers home last week when he was shot and killed when a gunman "emerged from a stolen car after a crash with Blowe. Authorities said they believe Blowe also possessed a weapon, as they recovered a gun next to his body... Blowe’s family said they did not know he had a weapon."
After the crash, Blowe got out, approached the car, and was shot. It is not known if Blowe pointed his firearm at the suspects, who fled the scene and have yet to be found.
The police stated that no arrests have been made and that the investigation is still ongoing.
"There is powerful false narrative in the District that criminal justice reform is fighting for leniency in lieu of safety...It is about freedom and safety," DC Justice Lab wrote on Twitter.

Thomas Kenning, 38, of St. Petersburg, was visiting Porter Beach in Indiana with his family on Monday when he saw a girl "in distress," according to a news release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources that was obtained by PEOPLE.
Officials say he managed to help the girl to safety "before going under the water and not resurfacing." He was rushed to Northwest Health Hospital upon being pulled from the water, but did not survive.
His wife Jasmine Kenning, 35, told the Tampa Bay Times on Tuesday that her husband "gave everything he could" and that "he cared so deeply for others."

Who goes swimming in Lake Michigan in November?
A reasonable question. Water temp is in the mid 40s. For the last week or two, high winds have been a nearly constant thing. The gales of November is not just a line in "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".
High wind means rip currents for unwary swimmers. Cold water means hypothermia for anyone immersed. Nature is unforgiving.

[People] Alandria Worthy was in labor and on her way to the hospital when she asked her fiancé, Deandre Phillips, to pull over so she could go to the bathroom. He stopped at an Atlanta area McDonald's —and instead of leaving with Big Macs, the couple left with a newborn baby girl.
"I went into the bathroom and my water broke immediately," Worthy told local news affiliate 11 Alive in Atlanta. "It was an experience because it happened so fast."
Worthy started screaming and Tunisia Woodward, the general manager of that location, came to help, the new mom recounted. Needless to say, Woodward was surprised by what she found.

[Red State] General Michael Flynn is a highly decorated three-star general, who went through the hellish ordeal of being wrongly prosecuted and imprisoned by his own country. The Deep State’s intent was to kill and silence General Flynn but, as the philosopher Nietzsche warned, it has only made him stronger. General Flynn is now passionate and motivated to equip Americans in the fight for their freedoms and to forge and maintain a foothold in politics and culture.
Since being pardoned by Trump in November 2020, General Flynn has only heightened his leadership presence in organizations like America’s Future and as part of the ReAwaken America Tour launched in 2021.
"America is going through a major transformation of our culture and needed to be reminded of how we came to be in the first place," Flynn explained.
"America is a big idea that is essentially an experiment in democracy established as a constitutional republic. We’ve been blessed to last this long, most republics in history have a far shorter lifespan. The founders knew that over time, America would be tested and tried to its very core. We now face a moment of crisis like we’ve never seen."
General Flynn is focused on equipping not just this current generation but the next. That is why he has partnered with Brave Books for Book Number 7 in their Saga 2 Series. General Flynn is the author of the book, The Night the Snow Monster Attacked. Freedom Island’s hero, Valor, and Team BRAVE return to inculcate a lesson on what embodies good leadership, and what does not.
[Free Beacon] The San Francisco Elections Commission is considering terminating its contract with its elections director John Arntz—one of the city's most highly esteemed civil servants—citing concerns about "racial equity." Arntz, who is white, will need to reapply next year if he wants to keep his job.
The commission voted 4-2 last week to "open a competitive search" for Arntz's position, which he has held for two decades, rather than to renew his contract automatically, Cynthia Dai, a member of the commission, told the Washington Free Beacon. That decision, Dai said, was "driven in large part by the city's plan for racial equity," which requires all departments and commissions to address internal racial disparities.
"It's hard to achieve diversity targets if senior roles never open up," said Dai, who voted in favor of the search process. "This has nothing to do with his performance."
The vote by the commission, whose members are appointed rather than elected, sparked pushback from elected officials, who credit Arntz with cleaning up a broken system. Before Arntz took the helm, San Francisco's chief attorney David Chiu (D.) told Mission Local, a San Francisco-based newspaper, the city "had five directors in as many years, ballot boxes floating in the bay, and an intense lack of confidence in city elections."
San Francisco mayor London Breed (D.) went so far as to imply that the commission was putting free and fair elections at risk. "John Arntz has served San Francisco with integrity [and] professionalism and has stayed completely independent," Breed told Mission Local. "He's remained impartial and has avoided getting caught up in the web of city politics, which is what we are seeing now as a result of this unnecessary vote."
Aaron Peskin (D.), a member of the city's board of supervisors, called the commission's decision "malfeasance."

This is not under "consideration". The many articles I've seen they've clearly stated they will not be renewinig his contract because he's white. And of course, this most useless of fools actually agrees with the decision. Whether it be in academia, private business, or politics, the Left has embarked on a clear pattern of racism and does not fear SCOTUS in the least. This what happens when a party has rigged elections in perpetuity.

[SlayNews] He looks dangerous. Question is: to whom?
A top doctor has spoken out to reveal how he was arrested by police and put in a psych ward over allegations that his views about treating COVID-19 constituted "misinformation."
Dr. Thomas Binder, a Swiss cardiologist with a doctorate in immunology and virology, says police forcibly took him to a psychiatric ward to be examined for mental illness.
Authorities determined that Binder, who has held a private practice for 24 years, should be examined for mental illness in response to his public criticism of Covid restrictions, mandates, and testing.
Binder had argued that the methods were unscientific.
On April 9, 2020, Binder published a post on his blog that gave an analysis of Covid and the government’s mitigation efforts.
According to WND, the post received 20,000 views and soon caught the attention of the authorities. OK, I coulda done without WND in this...
He hoped it would prompt action, but two colleagues alerted the chief of state police, claiming Binder was a threat to himself and the government.
On the day before Easter of 2020, he was confronted outside his home by about 60 armed police officers, including 20 with the canton of Aargau’s anti-terrorism unit, ARGUS.
In a recent video interview with independent reporter Taylor Hudak, Binder said that after examining his online posts and messages, police concluded he was not a threat.
However, the officers sent an emergency physician to examine his mental health.
He was then diagnosed with "corona insanity" and placed in a psychiatric unit.
Binder was released on the condition he takes psychiatric medication and continues to practice medicine in Switzerland.
"These are really Soviet-style, [East German]-style psychiatry methods," he said.

"a direct link between Corona and 5G radiation"
That was not the reason he was arrested, but it's batshit crazy nonetheless.
The Swiss press has reported that the arrest was an overreaction (the authorities have conceded that), but it was justified nonetheless based on the info available then.
The informant had notified police that this doctor was making gun threats and that he also had a gun (which was true).

"Vaccinated Americans were the majority of COVID deaths in August: report"
Another bad news, it is impressive how bad people accept bad data from the news.
We don't know the median age of vaccinated and not vaccinated, we don't even know how many vaccinated and non vaccinated are.
If 90% of people are vaccinated then 58% of deaths are inferior in percentage to those non vaccinated. it would mean vaccines better than non vaccination for example.
#23
Hard collected data had been compromised since day 1. There is no good data.
Technically, since the jabs don't grant immunity, the vaccination rate is 0%. Some people believe on jab is 'vaccinated', while others believe you need a jab for each arm Lakshmi has given you, plus one for your missing tail.
Sort of just leaves us with observational data and social theory. Best number I've heard in USA is 1/3 refused any shot. If, big if, you believe in the Theory of Thirds, that given a large topic, 1/3 actively supports it, 1/3 actively opposes, and the middle 1/3 does the minimum leaning towards the more strongly planted wing. I'm going with if a person gets 3 they get 5 (or whatever is called for now, bi-monthly or whatever). That leaves the middle 1/3 with those who have taken 1 or 2 shots.
Our other problem of semantics come from died with or died from the Covid.
So there really is no solid data, at least publicly, which is the real misinformation.
Thinking that 5G is some Rule 66 activation of Covid sickness is out there, man. It is also a reaction to the lack of data, lack of transparency, and ultimately lack of credibility of official sources.
I'm not solid on any of the 5G stuff. I do know that authorities did ram rod a bunch of fkn blshit of the worst advice and actions during Covid, up to stuffing long-term assisted living quarters with Covid patients, an action which can at best be described as dubious, but with the withdrawing of their own family members from such quarters, they knew exactly what would happen. Couple that with every single Covid protocol being wrong, well, I understand how someone could get down that rabbit hole.
I thought everyone in Switzerland had a rifle. 20 SWAT and 40 officers vs. an old man with a rifle is quite a reaction. And if he was that dangerous, wouldn't they at least browse his posts beforehand?
[EN.ALGHADEERTV.NET] A rift has emerged between Britannia and Belgium after Brussels blocked the export of a component critical for maintaining the UK’s nuclear arsenal, The Times reported on Friday. In response, the UK has reportedly threatened to cancel a lucrative arms order with FN Herstal, a Belgian-based weapons company.
Two weeks ago, the Belgian government refused to authorize the export of a specialized isostatic press, which is needed to maintain British nukes because the greens, who oppose nuclear weapons and make up a part of the ruling coalition, vetoed the proposal, the report says.
The Belgian media also reported, citing sources, that on November 9, the government had failed to approve the export of nuclear technology intended for the British army.
According to the Times, the spat escalated when Belgian officials warned that the UK could put the brakes on a €600 million ($624 million) order to procure machineguns made by FN Herstal if Brussels did not change its mind.
Two senior sources in the Belgian government cited by the Times voiced concerns that the dispute could "endanger western unity and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions... " amid the Ukraine conflict.
Meanwhile, ...back at the comedy club, Boogie sadly admitted that he was a better peeping Tom than he was a comedian... according to Economy Minister Willy Borsus, negotiations on the contract between FN Herstal and the United Kingdom "are still underway."
The high-pressure isostatic press is used for handling radioactive waste. It is involved in the manufacturing process in Britannia’s Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston, the UK Defense Ministry’s nuclear facility. One senior source in the Belgian government described the machinery as "unique in the world," according to the business website.

[Life Site] After accepting a top award, a retired Canadian general received a standing ovation from senior military officers for giving a rousing speech blasting cancel culture, climate change policies, woke aspects of the armed forces, and leaders who "divide."
The speech was made by retired Lt.-Gen. Michel Maisonneuve on November 9 in Ottawa at a gala event, at which he accepted the prestigious Vimy Award.
During his speech, Maisonneuve, who is a 35-year Canadian Armed Forces veteran, was direct in his take on the current leadership of Canada under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, without directly naming people.
"Can you imagine a military leader labeling half of his command as deplorables, fringe radicals and less-thans and then expect them to fight as one?" Maisonneuve asked rhetorically.
"Today’s leaders must find a way to unite; not divide."
Maisonneuve’s statement seems to be a reference to a remark made by Trudeau during the anti-mandate Freedom Convoy protest — which featured noticeable support from active and retired members of the nation’s armed forces — in which the prime minister said that those opposing his measures were of a "small, fringe minority" who hold "unacceptable views."
In the speech, Maisonneuve lamented how Canada was once a "great" nation, but in recent years has faltered in being a leader in the world.
"Since this is my speech, I get to share what I believe Canada needs to do to take the world stage again," said Maisonneuve. "What will it take? Well, I believe it will take leadership and service. These two crucial foundations of greatness for any nation have somehow become secondary — lost in these days of entitlement, ’me first’, ’not my problem’ and endless subsidies and handouts."
Maisonneuve noted how leaders "should" take "responsibility" when aspects of a nation fail, and that leaders have used social media as a tool in essence steer clear from being truthful.
He noted how today, "cancel culture still flourishes and there is no call for redaction or amendment even when accusations are proved false. Truth is not a requirement; once cancelled, you are done."
Maisonneuve then took a swipe at today’s mainstream press, saying that "balanced journalism is difficult to find," adding that the practice of presenting the truth or "facts" is "no longer compulsory in mainstream media."
"The line between ’news’ and op-eds has blurred and too often we are subjected to sermons written not by seasoned journalists but by first-year graduates of woke journalism schools," he charged.
Maisonneuve said that when it comes to forms of "extremism" on both the left and right, it seems to be "flourishing."
"Canada’s prosperity is being sacrificed at the altar of climate change as opposed to being used to help the world transition to clean energy. Throwing soup and paint at the world’s art treasures is as heinous as it is useless. The perpetrators should be punished, not celebrated," stated Maisonneuve.
Maisonneuve then noted how cancel culture and entitlement have resulted in one not taking "personal responsibility" for their actions, a phenomenon he says has "disappeared from the landscape while the phenomenon of collective apologies flourishes in our country."
"Individuals and groups fight over who gets to wear the coveted victim’s cloak. But any role they may have played in their own fate or in injuring others is dismissed as learned behaviour, inherited flaws or generational oppression," pressed the veteran.
Maisonneuve said that "enough statues have been toppled," and that "erasing our history is not the solution."
He then gave his thoughts on new military dress codes which allow for those in uniform to color their hair, grow beards, and have more choices in what they wear.
"Today, I see a military woefully underfunded, undermanned and under-appreciated; a force where uniforms have become a means of personal expression rather than a symbol of collective pride and unity: uniforms are no longer uniform," he lamented.
"The idea of serving in our armed forces is getting little traction. Could it be because the moral contract under which our military serve is broken?"
Ending on a positive note, Maisonneuve said that despite all this, he still believes "we can make Canada better."
"We Canadians live in the greatest country in the world with almost unlimited resources, a tolerant and diverse people, and an educated population who can aspire to the greatest heights. We should be prepared to serve our country and be proud to do so. And our leaders must share this vision."
[Townhall] Documents reveal that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau inquired about the use of martial law in February during the Freedom Convoy protests.
Two of Canada’s federal ministers talked about using tanks against the peaceful protests who were advocating for their right to not be mandated to get a vaccine.
On April 25, The Public Order Emergency Commission looked into whether the use of wartime vehicles to stop the trucker protests was justified or not.
Politico reported that the government had waived cabinet confidence solely for the inquiry, which allowed Canadian residents to understand why Tredeau attempted to use tanks.
Liberal Justice Minister David Lametti wrote to liberal Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino on Feb. 2 saying "how many tanks are you asking for? I just wanna ask [Defense Minister] Anita [Anand] how many we’ve got on hand?"
Lametti responded saying, "I reckon one will do!"
However, Lametti claimed that the use of tanks was meant to be a joke, despite Trudeau declaring martial law at the time.
Trudeau’s government defended the action of using wartime tanks saying that the country’s "social cohesion, national unity and international reputation" were at serious risk of "irremediable harms" at the hands of the peaceful protestors.
President Biden demanded Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stop the 'freedom convoy' that protested at the border against vaccine mandates
Trudeau is set to testify Friday regarding his decision to clear out the convoy as part of a Canadian government investigation
The trucker protest grew until it closed vital trade routes along the Canada-U.S. border and shut down key parts of the capital for more than three weeks
Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland previously testified that Washington was 'very, very, very worried' about the blockades
The minister emailed staff on February 10 saying Washington feared 'all of their northeastern car plants will shut down' if the convoy was not stopped in 12 hours
Trudeau, according to texts between Clow and Freeland, talked to Biden about 'money, people and political/media support' from America
Three days after speaking with Biden, on February 14, Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act to clear out the protesters

The shock is seeing this story on an Iraqi news site.
[Shafaq News] The rain beat down relentlessly in the pitch-black night as the five members of Sabah Zubaida’s family emerged from a taxi in an Iraqi Kurdish village. “What are you doing here?” asked a Peshmerga (Kurdish fighter) with a flashlight.
“We are Jews trying to escape,” came the answer.
The year was 1970. Three nights passed until the Peshmergas could drive their unexpected visitors out of Iraq to freedom in Iran, which under the Shah’s rule was friendly to Israel. The Zubaida family eventually made it to the UK.
Almost 2,000 Jews made the hazardous journey through mountainous Kurdistan between 1970 and 1971 after Israel, the Kurds and Iran struck a deal to allow desperate Jews to be smuggled out of Iraq.
Some of their stories are told in a short film commissioned by Harif, the UK Association of Jews from the Middle East and North Africa, based on interviews by Sephardi Voices UK.
The film will be shown on Wednesday at JW3, North London.
The Iraqi Jews left with one suitcase in the middle of the night, as if they were going on holiday.
One escapee was Edwin Shuker, now a vice-president of the Board of Deputies, who, aged 16, was one of 22 crammed into a Kurdish pick-up truck.
Conditions for the remnant Jewish community of 3,000 took a dramatic turn for the worse after Israel’s victory in the 1967 Six-Day War.
The date of the film screening, to be observed in Israel and worldwide, was designated by a 2014 Knesset law.
It symbolically recalls the day after the UN Palestine Partition plan of 1947 was passed, when anti-Jewish riots in several Arab countries broke out, triggering the exodus of 850,000 Jews.
The 30 November commemoration highlights the need to achieve international recognition of their suffering. An international accounting firm is assessing the value of Jewish property lost in the Arab world: the results will be released soon.

Many on social media reacted with revulsion to the activities of the group with many comparing them to the 2017 white supremacist rioters in Charlottesville ...given that a good many of them were actually Antifa masquerading as conservatives, the comparison must stand.
The Black Hebrew Israelites are normally seen on street corners with megaphones or large loudspeakers and microphones in and around Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and New York City.
The movement has expanded its presence in the United States, with churches sprouting up in Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, and Oregon.

North Ga. resident Susan B. Martinez, Ph.D. explains it all pretty well in her book "The Mysterious Origins of Hybrid Man."
These poor foks in Brooklyn are kluless.

Big brother Mundi has a flat just 3 blocks from the venue. They're gonna try to keep it but I keep telling him to dump it. Nothing good ever happens adjacent to a bassetball arena.

^ True, but then Safe Space = no white men, and unfortunately for Sister in Law Mundi, no Jews either.

Jewish people really, really don't like the combination of blacks and Jews. Remember when they forcibly sterilized those poor Ethiopian women to stop them from reproducing?
The women’s testimony could help explain the almost 50-percent decline over the past 10 years in the birth rate of Israel’s Ethiopian community. According to the program, while the women were still in transit camps in Ethiopia they were sometimes intimidated or threatened into taking the injection. “They told us they are inoculations,” said one of the women interviewed. “They told us people who frequently give birth suffer. We took it every three months. We said we didn’t want to.”

Lessee...they're in Transit Camps (i.e.: no productive work, high birth rates, dependent on welfare), but NOT sterilized, just birth control that wears off. The HORROR

You're right - sterilizing refugees in camps is totally NOT something that's evil. Hey, it wears off! Eventually. After the woman is out of her prime child-bearing years. And injecting people against their will and lying to them about what's going into their bodies - gosh, didn't we just have a gigantic brouhaha about that here in America? It just screams NOT EVIL in all capital letters.
So not surprising that these blacks are getting a furious reaction from the media. It's in line with what's happened before.

So many assholes have formed neat little groups and leagues, classified themselves as trash for us already. If only the better part of humanity can man up a little, the targets have painted themselves and are usually standing clumped together.

Do stop joining the Ha’aretz reporter in the usual anti-Israel hysteria, Spike the Hairy6811. Depo-Provera shots are good for three months, with normal cycles returning thereafter — not anything like “beyond her prime childbearing years”. Sterilization is permanent.
I suspect the Ethiopian Jews did the same as the rest of the Middle Eastern/North African Jewish populations that made aliya — and the same as the Middle Eastern and North African non-Jewish populations back home — discovering the joys of birth control and dropping their birthrates from 8-9 children per mother to 3-4. Quite possibly they were given an unexplained jump start in the years immediately following arrival — the labour socialists were running things in those days, and we all know what they’re like —but for the rest the Ethiopian Jews are following the assimilation pattern of immigration waves before and since.
In other words, after spending a generation recovering from abruptly moving from the Third World to the First World, the current generation is busily acquiring the skills and mindset to join Israeli society as equals. This explains the current deluge of Ethiop-Israeli Miss Israels, artists and musicians, army officers, students at elite universities, and entrepreneurs. Also the addition of Ethiopian recipes and traditions to those already customary in Israel, following the addition of recipes and traditions from Iraq, Iran, Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, and so forth.

"For example, if the target is thirsty then a subliminal stimulus for a drink is likely to influence the target to purchase that drink if it is readily available."
Or watchers of Jan 6 committee proceedings may be flashed scenes of street riots for reinforcement.

Taking control is of limited value. Disabling it and stripping it of its weaponry will probably be the usual play.

In SF, of course. It is THE POINT to have a human behind the trigger. This is wrong on so many levels, but then here we are - sprinting to our demise that is of our own making.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
