[FoxNews] The move comes days after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott invoked an 'invasion' clause to step up border enforcement.
Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's border mission will soon include armored personnel carriers as he steps up enforcement, days after invoking an "invasion" clause of both the U.S. Constitution and Texas Constitution to combat ongoing and overwhelming illegal immigration in the state.
The Texas Tribune reported that the Texas Military Department issued the order as part of Operation Lone Star. The National Guard will soon deploy 10 M113 armored personnel carrier vehicles to the border, the publication said.
Around 50 soldiers will be trained to operate the APC's, small tracked vehicles designed to carry infantry troops in combat zones alongside tanks, while state officials will identify 10 positions to station them along the southern border.
"These actions are part of a larger strategy to use every available tool to fight back against the record-breaking level of illegal immigration," the department said in a statement. "The Texas National Guard is taking unprecedented measures to safeguard our border and to repel and turn-back immigrants trying to cross the border illegally."
Abbott launched Operation Lone Star in March 2021 in a joint effort between the National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety to combat illegal immigration and crime at the border.

Post LRADs at each of the crossing points on a pedestal and the mass migration will stop immediately. Immigration enforcement has devolved from criminal enforcement to essentially tackle football to now, just meaningless processing and entry. There are over five million NEW illegals in the past two years, added to at least 20 million existing one, and the docket for deportation hearings, which each is eligible once inside CONUS will take centuries to clear at best.
(A long-range acoustic device (LRAD) produces a 30 degree cone of audible sound in frequencies within the human hearing spectrum (20 Hz – 20 kHz). An LRAD was used by the crew of the cruise ship Seabourn Spirit in 2005 to deter pirates who chased and attacked the ship. More commonly this device and others of similar design have been used to disperse protesters and rioters in crowd control efforts. [WIKI quote])

LRADs are nice and all, but have you ever seen what the GAU8-A Avenger does to a human body? One strafing run on a column of the invading hordes would stop every bit of the attack.

Thanks for that link at #13. He "got to reassure the Paddy!" Not that the film (71) was any fairer to the Brits than any other Troubles movie I've ever seen, but that line never fails to crack me up.
[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish court on Friday charged 17 of the suspects detained for their alleged involvement in the recent deadly attack in Istanbul, including a Syrian woman believed to be the main perpetrator of the earth-shattering kaboom, according to state media.
A TNT-laden bomb went kaboom! in Istanbul’s bustling Istiklal Avenue on Sunday, killing six people and injuring 81 others, according to official figures. Police arrested 49 people, including a 23-year-old Syrian woman named Ahlam Albashir whom the authorities claim is the main perpetrator of the earth-shattering kaboom.
The suspects were tried for the first time on Friday and were questioned by 29 public prosecutors in Istanbul. The country’s criminal court ordered to send 17 of these people to jail, including Albashir, release three on bail and deport the remaining 29, reported Anadolu Agency.
No information about the 29 suspects who face deportation has been provided.
All the suspects are accused of "destroying the unity and integrity of the state," "deliberate killing," "deliberately attempting to kill" and "deliberately aiding murder."
Anadolu Agency reported on Wednesday that Ottoman Turkish forces arrested a man, codenamed Husam, in Azaz city which is controlled by Ankara and its Syrian proxies. He is believed to have helped Albashir in carrying out the attack.
Ottoman Turkish authorities have blamed the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) which controls northeast Syria (Rojava) for the earth-shattering kaboom but the group has denied any responsibility.
The state media claimed that Husam is a member of the YPG and moved from Syria to Istanbul one year ago, adding that he managed to flee The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... while police were chasing him.
The detainees were among a group of almost 50 people Istanbul police had rounded up earlier this week after the attack, and include the suspected bomber, which police identified as Syrian national Ahlam Albashir.
Anadolu said the others detainees included the person who drove the bomber, and others the authorities have accused of "murder with a bomb" and "disrupting the unity and integrity of the state". More than half the suspects detained were to be deported, the agency reported.

[Rudaw] A senior Iranian military official visiting Baghdad this week threatened Iraq with a ground military operation in the country’s north if the Iraqi army does not fortify the countries’ shared border against Kurdish opposition groups, multiple Iraqi and Kurdish officials said.
Such an offensive, if carried out, would be unprecedented in Iraq, and raise the specter of regional fallout from Iran’s domestic unrest, which Tehran has portrayed as a foreign plot without offering evidence.
The warning was delivered this week to Iraqi and Kurdish officials in Baghdad by Iran’s Quds Force commander Esmail Ghaani, who arrived in the capital Monday on an unannounced two-day visit. The force is an elite unit within Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
