[KHAAMAPRESS] The local Taliban ...Arabic for students... government authorities in Kandahar province of southern Afghanistan denied the allegations. No, no! Certainly not! of desecrating the tomb of Mullah Naqibullah Akhund, a former Jihadi commander.
Reactions have followed the desecration of Mullah Naqibullah Akhund’s burial. He was one of the previous Jamaat-e-Islami ...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores... jihadist commanders, and his gravesite is in Kandahar’s Arghandab district.
Photographs that demonstrate the destruction of the commander’s tomb have been shared on social media, which the social media users claim constitutes intentional vandalism and flagrant desecration.
The mausoleum of Mullah Naqibullah was allegedly disrespected by hurtful people, according to the Jamaat-e-Islami Party led by Salahuddin Rabbani, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.
Atta Mohammad Noor, a former governor of the Balkh province in northern Afghanistan, reacted to this destruction of the tomb by accusing the Taliban of desecration and asserting that they offended moral and ethical norms.
Ahmad Masoud, the leader of the National Resistance® Front (NRF), an armed opposition force against the Taliban, also asserted that the armed Taliban had destroyed Mullah Naqibullah Mullah’s grave, which is against the principles and values of Islam.
However, there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... the spokesperson for the Taliban governor in Kandahar province claims that the reports of Mullah Naqibullah’s grave being destroyed are false and untrue.
This comes as the tombstone of the late resistance commander, Ahmad Shah Massoud, was vandalized and desecrated, which caused a stir and infuriated the public.
[NATIONAFRICA] The Æthiopian government said Friday that 70 per cent of the war-stricken northern region of Tigray was now under federal army control and that aid was being sent in — claims that were swiftly denied by Tigrayan rebels.
"70% of Tigray is under ENDF (Æthiopian National Defence Force)," Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's national security adviser Redwan Hussein posted on Twitter.
"Aid is flowing like no other times," he said, adding that trucks of food and medicine had been sent to the strategic city of Shire and that flights were being allowed into the area. "The Hobbits of the Shire are fed well. Even second breakfasts!"
The restoration of aid to the region of about six million people is one of the key planks of a breakthrough peace deal between the federal government and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) to end two years of brutal war in northern Æthiopia.
But the rebels denied Redwan's claims.
"He is plucking his facts out of thin air," TPLF front man Getachew Reda told AFP in a message.
INACCESSIBLE TO JOURNALISTS
AFP was not able to independently verify the claims as Tigray remains inaccessible to journalists.
The northernmost region is in the grip of a severe humanitarian crisis due to lack of food and medicine, and there is limited access to basic services including electricity, banking and communications.
A humanitarian worker based in Tigray also dismissed Redwan’s comments.
"What Redwan tweeted is completely false," the worker told AFP. "No aid is allowed to enter Shire city at all.
"No services have been reconnected and no flights are allowed."
'MANY DYING OF STARVATION'
The peace deal was signed in the South African capital Pretoria on November 2 after little more than a week of negotiations brokered by the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... between federal government and TPLF delegations.
It notably calls for the cessation of hostilities, restoration of humanitarian aid, the re-establishment of federal authority over Tigray and the disarming of TPLF fighters.
On Wednesday, the World Health Organisation ...Kind of like the Center for Disease Control only run by the UN, with about the results you'd expectt... called for a massive influx of food and medicines into Tigray following the ceasefire deal, saying desperately-needed aid had not yet been allowed in.
"Many people are dying from treatable diseases. Many people are dying from starvation," WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who hails from Tigray, told a presser.
"Even in the middle of fighting, civilians need food, need medicine. It cannot be a condition."
[LIBYAREVIEW] Three days ago, the Head of Libya’s High Council of State (HCS), Khaled al-Mishri, claimed that holding elections requires an executive authority capable of extending its influence over all of Libya. The executive authority would have to be backed by a unified supervisory authority.
This was said during a meeting with the United States (US) Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, accompanied by the Chargé d’Affairs at the US Embassy, Leslie Ordman, in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... Al-Mishri, affiliated with the Moslem Brüderbund in Libya, claims in more than one appearance that he is leading efforts to complete the elections in Libya. In addition, he pre-empted the expected negotiations with Parliament Speaker Ageela Saleh on the constitutional base. He did this by voting on controversial articles related to dual nationals and the candidacy of military personnel.

Israeli analyst Jonathan D. Halevy’s article “Did The Libyan Leadership Deceive the West”... [states]: Qatari involvement is likely to produce a regime in Libya that follows the political orientation of Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, thereby giving the Muslim Brotherhood an open door in the new Libya. ... Western aid to overthrow Gaddafi’s tyrannical regime prepared the groundwork for the establishment of an Islamic state, which eventually may become hostile to the West. IDFC research also reveals that Moslems in Africa are gaining access to credit and insurance as conventional lenders and underwriters are joined by their sharia-compliant counterparts offering Islamic banking products and services.

The lender has floated its first Islamic bond worth $4.4 million aimed at funding its Sahl banking asset portfolio. The Sharia-compliant paper was opened on November 9 and closes on December 5.
According to Cosmas Kimaro-Managing Director -KCB Tanzania, "KCB Fursa Sukuk will provide opportunities for Tanzanian and non-Tanzanian individuals, retailers, corporations and institutions to invest in the capital markets for three years at an expected return of 8.75 percent per annum, quarterly."

The lender now joins the league of NMB Bank and the National Bank of Commerce in offering bonds this year.
NMB floated an $11 million Jasiri bond targeting women enterprises while NBC’s Twiga bond targeting to raise $131 million for funding SMEs across Tanzania.
The rise of demand for non-Moslems within the East Africa region market for interest-free Islamic banking services has been driven by a mix of high-interest rates and poor banking facilities.
Fintech is also another driver for the high uptake of Islamic products in the EAC region.
The high smartphone and internet penetration in the Sub-Sahara African region has facilitated bringing credit and insurance closer to the underserved Moslem group.
GROWTH OF ISLAMIC PRODUCTS IN AFRICA
Earlier this year, East African biggest telco-Safaricom plc inked a deal with Gulf African Bank (GAB) that unveiled the Sanctified Pesa Halal - telco market’s first Shariah-compliant mobile financing service amid a growing need for digital financial inclusion.
Sanctified Pesa Halal is a financial mode of saving that helps Moslem and non-Moslem customers alike access micro-savings and investment solutions that adhere to Islamic laws on earning halal (permissible) profits.
GAB’s CEO- Abdalla Abdulkhalik, "Our strategy is focused on digitization for financial inclusion. Our aim is to provide instantaneous access to interest-free credit through Halal Pesa."
The Safaricom and GAB move comes years after Kenya’s biggest bank by assets, the Kenya Commercial Bank launched an Islamic banking unit dubbed "KCB Sahl banking."
In South Africa, Islamic banking — which had a bumpy start in 1980 due to apartheid and general ignorance — is witnessing a steady rise in adoption thanks to investment from the Gulf.
In late 2014 the country’s treasury issued a record $500-million Sukuk (Islamic bond) — a first — hoping to tap into funding from Gulf Arab and Southeast Asian liquid capital markets to revamp the country’s ports, roads, hospitals, and schools.
The Banking Association of South Africa’s figures now show deposits in South Africa’s halal banking top $ 2 billion and advances amounting to $ 824 million.
According to Fitch Ratings, the Islamic-finance industry in Nigeria is expected to continue its moderate growth trajectory in 2022-2023.
"Growth will be driven by top-down government support for the sector, Sukuk issuance by the federal government, asset growth by newly-established Islamic banks and enabling regulations," it said in its January rating.
Sharia banking has also continued to enjoy moderate growth in Æthiopia since 2008 when its conservative central bank authorized interest-free banking.

Middle East Economic News Report - No. 13
Dec 2, 2001. Special Focus: The Banking tor, Dr. Nimrod Raphaeli "The Future of Islamic Banks" --
A number of professors of economics at Al-Azhar University in Egypt recently discussed the problems and the future of Islamic banks. They were asked if they thought that the war in Afghanistan was a precursor to striking at the Islamic banks by freezing their assets because the amounts earmarked for "zakat" (Islamic charity) were actually diverted to finance terrorism. The following is a summary...Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Halim Omar, Professor of Islamic Economics, said Islamic banks are "firmly rooted, strong and solid." The first Islamic bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, was launched in 1975 and Islamic banks have increased to 200 across the Muslim and Arab countries, transacting business at $400 billion annually. The growth in numbers and size is proof of their success. In addition, they provide a measure of security equal to that provided by any other bank. Islamic banks are part of the banking systems in the countries in which they operate and are subject to the same rules and regulation. "No evidence has been uncovered," insists Omar, that these banks have been engaged in terrorist financing or in money laundering.--"
Unfortunately, Islamic banks in Saudi were known to support Al Qaeda, and Islamic banks supported Islamist terrorist movements in Somalia. Where banks have fought terrorism the private sector hawala system thrived.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Member of the national negotiating delegation, Abdul-Malik al-Ajri, confirmed on Friday evening that the Western statements on Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... are an attempt to push for escalation and a return to war.
In a statement to al-Masirah TV, al-Ajri said the statements of the US, La Belle France and Britannia towards the operations of the armed forces lacked any political value.
Al-Ajri pointed out that when events are contrary to Western interests, they remember international law and the safety of sea lanes, but when they are in line with their interests, they forget this play.
The West is preventing the entry of health and medical materials into Yemen in a precedent not seen in wars throughout history, he said, adding that the United Nations ...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense... has lost its real influence in achieving peace and has become part of the tools of conflict management.
Al-Ajri added, that our armed forces warned ships not to approach the occupied ports and the export of oil must stop until the issue of salaries is solved.
He affirmed that Yemeni army has declared its red lines, and the time has come when the West, America and La Belle France define the red lines in the region and the world .
