Modern Divas Succeeding With Vintage Hairstyles
The vintage style is a trend that is particularly appreciated not only in clothing, but also in matters of hair styling. Already devoted to catwalk thanks to numerous designers and stylists who brought it back to attention, vintage hairstyles have become a fashion among Hollywood stars as well. Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Kelly Osbourne, Marion Cotillard, and Charlize Theron are just some of the celebrities who have adopted vintage hairstyles in their everyday life as well as on the red carpet.

Featuring refined curls and naturalness, the vintage style conquers the audience thanks to its sophisticated look, designed to bring back the old times. Suited for both short hair and long hair, it fits well with natural makeup that highlights one’s facial features.
Among the most popular vintage inspired hairstyles are bob haircuts with sculptural accents, asymmetrical curls that frame the face and simple buns, highlighted by elegant waves. The latter has always been fashionable and a source of inspiration for specialists in the field.

Oh dear. Hair is not what I’m good at, E&T6004. I think it’s some kind of pixie cut... But I have an appointment with my hair dresser at 5:00, so I’ll ask him. It took a while to find him, because most in the profession want a client who can do all those things with electrical devices and pomatums and hairspray, whereas I rely on his scissors skills so that all I need do is run my fingers through it for the hair to fall into place. Most hair dressers are not confident enough in their skills to send the result naked into the world for 4-6 weeks, you see.
When I was younger, Mr. Wife would trim it in a long bob for me, then I’d make a quick variation of a French braid with the end pinned under, a practice I’d taken up for dance classes in university — so much better for doing turns across the floor than getting whipped in the face by the ponytails I’d worn for gymnastics in high school. Flowing hair looks very dramatic for that kind of thing, but it it really isn’t safe for either the dancer or those nearby.

Thank you TW for your personal commentary; Mr.TW is a Lucky Man, as I think very few ladies would have the faith to allow their man a chance to be their coiffeur. The Right Hairstyles is an in-depth website, which I consulted, for information on the "terms" referenced in your reply as I am not even close in understanding the Art of Hairstyling.
I think many men are like me in this, here is their link to the "Pixie Haircuts and Hairstyles".
and this is the hairstyle I most favor...It would be attractive for most any age group, but what do I know😕

You caught the general idea, dear E&T6004, and now know more about the thing than I do. ;-)
My darling mother-in-law trained as a hairdresser, and Mr. Wife survived kindergarten, so back in the day he was unafraid to take a pair of scissors twice a year and cut a straight horizontal line across the bottom of my straightish hair while I sat very straight and very still. When I wanted a proper short haircut he sent me off to the professionals; I let them do what makes their artistic souls happy, so long as they accept my skill limitations in working with the result. I admire those women who can do those clever and beautiful things to their hair, but accept that some things are beyond me.

[Rudaw] A military base housing Ottoman Turkish troops in the northern Iraqi province of Nineveh was targeted by several rockets Thursday afternoon without inflicting casualties, Kurdish counter-terrorism forces reported.
At least nine rockets fell on Zilkan military base at 1:50 pm, the Erbil-based Directorate General of Counter Terrorism (CTD) said in a statement, adding that the strikes caused no casualties or material damages.
"According to reports, the rockets landed around the military base," the statement said, identifying the projectiles as Grad rockets ...Soviet-developed 122-mm rockets, usually launched from trucks. Newer versions are reported to have a range of up to 30 km.... and noting that they were fired from a Kia truck in an area between two villages near Bashiqa.
Mohammed Amin Gharib, the mayor of Zilkan subdistrict, confirmed to Rudaw that several rockets landed near the base.
Zilkan military base has been frequently targeted in recent years, and the attacks are largely attributed to Iran-backed Iraqi militias.
The presence of Ottoman Turkish forces in the base has been widely condemned by the Iraqi government, with criticism reaching a peak when a deadly shelling last month blamed on The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... killed nine Iraqi tourists and injured tens of others.
The incident has harmed diplomatic relations between the two countries, with Iraq filing a complaint against Turkey in the United Nations ...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society... Security Council.

[Rudaw] Internal security forces (Asayish) on Thursday launched a new security operation targeting cells of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) in the notorious al-Hol camp in northeast Syria’s (Rojava) Hasaka province, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced.
The operation is conducted by Asayish with support from the SDF and the global coalition, and aims "to hunt down ISIS terrorist cells in the al-Hol camp, drain the ISIS enabling environment, and save the residents from ISIS terrorism."
According to the statement, ISIS has carried out 43 attacks in the squalid facility this year, killing 44 residents including women and kiddies. The camp has also witnessed over a dozen attempts of abduction, arson, and destruction of relief supplies.
The Asayish further added that overrunning al-Hol camp was the next target for ISIS after the failed al-Sina’a prison siege in January.
The notorious al-Hol camp continues to pose a serious security risk and violence in the camp continues to regularly lead to murders.
Located in Hasaka province, al-Hol has infamously been branded a breeding ground for terrorism, with Kurdish and Iraqi authorities describing the sprawling facility as a "ticking time bomb," saying the situation in the camp is "very dangerous" with ISIS sleeper cells active in the camp.
Iraqi nationals make up the bulk of the camp’s population.
"The lack of a clear international plan to solve this problem, the non-repatriation of foreign nationals by their countries, and the lack of effective and adequate support to our forces and the AANES [Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria] have aggravated the threat of the camp," the statement added, holding the international community responsible and reiterating previous calls for foreign countries to repatriate their ISIS-linked nationals from the facility.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] At least three American service members were maimed as rocket strikes have hit US-occupied military bases in eastern Syria.
The official Syrian Arab News Agency [SANA] said several rockets targeted bases that are run by US occupation force at the al-Omar and Koniko oilfields in Deir Ez-Zor countryside.
"One US military service member suffered a minor injury and two others are being evaluated for minor injuries following [the] rocket attacks," Rooters reported, citing the US military.
A plume of smoke was seen rising out of the area, SANA added. The occupying American forces have "closed the area," the civilian sources noted, saying American aircraft had started staging extensive flights over the area.
The rocket attacks came after American warplanes carried out a fresh Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... in Eastern Syria in the wee hours of the day.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS] The Syrian army air defences repelled on Thursday an Israeli missile aggression that targeted the surroundings of Hama and Tartous.
A military source said that at nearly 19.15 p.m. on Thursday, the army air defences repelled an Israeli missile aggression from the direction of the sea to the south-west of Tartous.
"Most of the aggression missiles that targeted the surroundings of Hama and Tartous were downed," the source said.
It added that the attack injured two civilians, caused material losses and set fires to different areas.
So as usual, only mostly repelled Israeli aggression. Al Ahram adds:
A Syrian opposition war monitor _ the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights _ said the airstrikes targeted Iran-backed militias' positions and warehouses in the area.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) claimed that missile targeted the positions of Iran-backed militia. It also reported multiple explosions and a fire in Massyaf, Hama, following the attack.
According to the monitor, "military headquarters, sites, and warehouses for weapons and ammunition belonging to the Iranian militias" were the target of what it labeled "Israeli bombardment."
There was no confirmation by Israel though it rarely comments on Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s attributed to it in Syria.
The attack comes hours after the US said it killed four suspected Iran-backed holy warriors and destroyed seven rocket launchers in Syria.
