[Breitbart] Disney’s Aladdin star Will Smith has shown his support for the Black Lives Matter movement and proponents of critical race theory, going so far as to say critical race theory should be re-branded as "truth theory." "I'm down with you black people. Please pay to see my movies!"
The Hollywood star also backed the spirit of the "defund the police" movement, but suggested it should be promoted in a different, less threatening way.
In a GQ interview, Will Smith praised the Black Lives Matter movement for the directness of its name and message.
"This is a difficult area to discuss, but I feel like the simplicity of Black Lives Matter was perfect," the Men in Black star said. "Anybody who tries to debate Black Lives Matter looks ridiculous. So when I talk about the marketing of our ideas, Black Lives Matter was perfection."

"Black Lives Matter" would be good marketing -- if they didn't ignore blacks killed by other blacks, and didn't work themselves into a frenzy over "All Lives Matter". Oh, and didn't loudly proclaim their support specifically for black criminals.

In a GQ interview, Will Smith praised the Black Lives Matter movement for the directness of its name and message.
He has not been paying attention to their messaging beyond the slogan. The multi-million dollar houses, the communist statements against families, the silence while black businesses are burned down by white kids int he name of BLM, the death of black cops.
Will Smith is a fool desperately trying to scatch his way back to relevance.

Wouldn't the True Tenants of CRT consider the field of Acting the very essence of cultural appropriation?
I mean, Science! is racist, so I Am Legend promotes white supremacy, correct? His whole filmography is littered with stealing Japanese culture and unapologetic, unaccountable law enforcement, right?
[YouTube] Kings and Generals' historical animated documentary series on the history of China continues with a video on Koxinga. This admiral became the pirate king of China and fought the Dutch Empire and the Qing dynasty. The episode covers the battles of Lialuo Bay and Fort Zeelandia.
More background from Chinese texts my wife has read. Taiwan was tribes of head hunters and the like that was the Polynesian and Melanesian root stock. The Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish came and made Taiwan into colonies. The Dutch in the south, Spain in the north and the Portuguese just a port. The Dutch and Spanish could not get good work out of the natives on their sugar and other plantations so they bought Chinese from the Chinese pirates just like in the new world they bought Blacks from African tribal chiefs, and then populated Taiwan with these Chinese beholden to them. The Chinese emperor and the pirates had some discussion resulting in the emperor chartering the pirates to take Taiwan and populate it with Chinese. The pirates defeated the Dutch and Spanish - leaving the port-holding Portuguese alone - and populated the island and ruled it for a long time. Later the Japanese came and played the same sort of colonization and all hunted the native tribes for sport. This is background for this relationship. The Chinese that the Dutch, Spanish and the pirates brought over became the Taiwanese. After the Chinese Civil War the people and armies that retreated to Taiwan became known as Chinese, the Chinese and Japanese already there became known as Taiwanese and the Tribes remained known as Tribes.

Alright. Part of why I was asking: there's a current theory in vogue in China that a lot of groups in Western and/or Southwestern China and points beyond, like the Tai and related peoples, actually came from Taiwan once upon a time. As in during the 2000-4000 years ago time frame.
I have my doubts about a lot of these alleged facts because I was given to understand that the groups in question are semi-related to the Tibetans and Burmese more than that.

Anyway, I thought the pirates of that place and time period were all a kind of mixture of Japanese and South Chinese outlaws and that the government was trying to fight them by depopulating the entire coastal zone, and that coastal Chinese trying to get away from that were a major driver of Chinese settlement in Taiwan (and the Philipines, and Nanyang (?) further south.

Wife has no patience with media of any sort. Maybe I can get her to show me the books the info came from and I can post the titles.
That said if you ever see the various tribes put on a show... culturally it resembles US Indians or Polynesians more than Asian cultures. I have videos but not anonymous ones...

It’s like the day I did the same and had to dump that comment into the Sink Trap, upon which a number of Rantburgers gallantly came to my defense as not deserving such harsh treatment — and I fell in love with you all all over again.
I’m sorry I missed your last while running off doing errands, badanov. I’m not good at privacy myself, so I forget to think about it for others.

FWTW,
I read Badanov's post before they were deleted.
Gave me a perspective of input.
Thanks for your thoughts.

[Regnum] In February 18 (March 3), 1904, General Alexei Kuropatkin began withdrawing units from forward positions. This immediately affected the mood of the people.
[Sputnik] Swedish national broadcaster SVT described the new findings as a piece of the puzzle why Sweden and other heavily-vaccinated countries are now seeing more and more breakthrough infections among those who duly received their two shots.
Antibody levels among fully vaccinated people wane faster than researchers previously thought, a major recent study performed in Sweden has concluded.

I'm still waiting on studies on how long acquired immunity antibodies last. No doubt the results will come from the EU or Asia.
[Breitbart] Former Obama administration Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Wednesday on MSNBC’s "All In" that Americans who have not received a coronavirus vaccine are like "secondhand smoke" in that they can make people sick.
Sebelius said, "I think what President Biden has done is balance between what the science says and trying to cajole, encourage, make it easy for people to follow the science. When that turned out not to be as effective, then he turned to more hardened mandates. But what people don’t have a right to do is make other people sick, put other people in jeopardy, risk other people’s lives, risk children’s lives. So I think the president has been walking a line of balancing science and safety and security at every step along the way. Hoping that the mass majority of the American public would follow that lead."
She added, "It’s a lot like secondhand smoke. You have a right to be a smoker. The science is very clear what smoking will do to you, what cancer will be caused, what kinds of health conditions. You have a right to be a smoker. You don’t have a right to smoke next to my desk, to blow smoke on people, on my children, to force me to live in a housing facility where I am subjected to more smoke. That is a line that we have in this country, which delineates what your individual rights are. I think we’re looking at very much the same situation. OSHA, you’re absolutely right, has always provided guidance and mandates about safety in a workplace. This is not a safe workplace if I’m working with a person that may make me and my family sick. That’s not acceptable."
