[Reuters] LONDON/JOHANNESBURG - Crime gangs have stolen dozens of truckloads of copper owned by miners and traders including Glencore, Trafigura and Traxys this year as they were heading to ports in southern Africa, three sources with direct knowledge of the matter said.

[KOMONEWS] A lunatic man in a yellow dress stole a school bus and drove for miles across multiple counties before abandoning it and hitchhiking across the state, where he drove a front loader into his own home as his wife fled, sheriff's officials say.
Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett said there was nothing deputies could do to stop the man under the new police reform laws that recently took effect.
The bizarre drama unfolded over the weekend and started Saturday morning in Steilacoom, when the 39-year-old man was released from Western State Nut House Hospital. "Okay, Napoleon. Yer gettin' mainstreamed. Sign here!"
"You'll need my Imperial Seal to make it official, doc!"
Later that evening he was seen walking along Highway 2 near Leavenworth in a yellow dress.
At around 7:40 p.m., employees of Osprey Rafting say they saw the man get into the company's large yellow school bus and drive away. "Ahah! The Imperial Short Bus! I shall drive to Waterloo!"
Chelan County sheriff's deputies spotted the bus running a red light near Monitor and tried to pull the man over but he refused to stop and kept going. "Youse'll never take me alive, coppers! Hahahaha!"
Deputies discontinued the pursuit because the new police reform laws no longer allow law enforcement to pursue a fleeing vehicle unless there is cause to believe that a serious felony has occurred, Burnett said. "Let 'im go, Car 54! It ain't worth the paperwork!"
Douglas County deputies later spotted the bus heading east on State Route 28 and followed it through the city of Wenatchee, but the suspect refused to pull over and they, too, had to break off the pursuit. "He ain't stoppin', Chief!"
"Okay. See if you can write a few parking tickets. That'll give you somethin' to do until shift change!"
The bus was later found abandoned near Moses Lake. "What? Outta gas? You and the Old Guard have failed me, bus!"
Police lost track of the man for a time as he hitchhiked across the state to Spokane and then to Chewelah in Stevens County. "Need a ride, bub? Say! Nice dress! Are those real sequins?"
The next day, Sunday, officials say the suspect stole a front loader and crashed it into his own house, flipping a vehicle into the structure. "Take that, abode of foulness!"
The suspect's wife had just fled from the home when she learned her estranged husband might be coming. She was uninjured. "Whaddya mean, 'They let him out?' He's bonkers!"
"Now, now, Mrs Bonaparte! We don't use that kinda language about the reality-challenged anymore!"
The suspect was finally taken into custody in Stevens County, still wearing the yellow dress, and booked into jail for investigation of motor vehicle theft, first-degree malicious mischief and attempting to elude police.

Funny. I thought grand theft auto was a serious felony.

[NPR] Lulu Garcia-Navarro speaks with Raphael Xavier, professional breakdancer and professor of hip-hop dance at Princeton, about break dancing becoming an Olympic sport.
LULU GARCIA-NAVARRO, HOST:
Forget ice skating. Breakdancing is the coolest new Olympic sport. The International Olympic Committee has officially announced it will add breakdancing to the Games under the name breaking. Breaking, of course, is a style of hip-hop dance that includes footwork and athletic moves like back or head spins. The dancers, often called b-boys or b-girls, will be able to compete in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. And here to talk about it is professional hip-hop dancer and breaker Raphael Xavier. Welcome to the program.

The Russians and East Europeans will be all over this - it's a circus act. The other one that comes to mind is "big air snowboarding," where you do spasmodic tricks as the mountain falls away rapidly underneath you.
[WashingtonExaminer] Two New Jersey residents who were previously ordered to remove anti-Joe Biden signage from their property will be represented by a local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, according to court filings from Saturday.
Homeowner Patricia Dilascio was ordered on July 15 by Roselle Park Municipal Court Judge Gary Bundy to remove three of 10 flags displayed on her property within a week or face $250-per-day fines despite some flags being owned by her daughter Andrea Dick. The signage featured profanities and insults such as "F*** Biden," "Joe Biden Sucks," "Socialism Sucks, Biden Blows," and "Don't Blame Me I Voted For Trump," among others... fwiw, obscenity may be regulated but you have to have a lawful procedure to establish the 'when and where and in what manner' of content that is prohibited.
The same sentiments can be expressed without cussing, most assuredly. But what’s sauce for the Left’s Antifa/BLM ought to be sauce for the Right.

May be legal but clearly the property owners have no class nor shame.
Look I don't like biden admin either and the Anti-USA issues surrounding this Socialcrat Junta.
But I am fed up with any open displays of profanity. eg. F**k _____, or Penis and Vagina Photo or graphic art displaying T-shirts, penis mobiles and graphic vehicle art.
Besides the SCOTUS ruled 30+ years ago about community set standards and YES it can be enforced if done so equally and fairly.

The newsworthy bit here is the ACLU actively defending an individual's rights. Last time I can recall that happening was in 1978, that neo-Nazi march in Skokie.

[TASS] Wildfire suppression units in the Khabarovsk Region are combating blazes encompassing over 5,800 hectares, the regional forestry committee told TASS Tuesday.
"The forest protection authorities registered 11 wildfires this week. Five blazes covering a total of 5,806 hectares (14,332.11 acres) are currently being extinguished. The operation involves 129 people and 41 vehicles," the committee said.
The largest wildfire, located in the Nikolayesky district, has engulfed over 5,500 hectares (13,590.8 acres) alone, and it has been localized.
Last week, smoke from the wildfires in Yakutia was recorded in the Khabarovsk Region. Currently, the wind change has dispersed the smoke.
The total wildfire area in the region is over 8,200 hectares (20,262.64 acres), including a 7-hectare fire in the Dzugdzhursky reserve. At present, there are some blazes that are out of reach and can’t be extinguished.
"Some wildfires are located in remote or hard-to-reach areas, and it is almost impossible to get there, let alone send vehicles. A special commission assesses the danger of such hotspots, and, if no threat is found, usually it won’t be tackled. Rather it will be allowed to burn out on its own naturally. Usually, such fires spark from thunderstorms in taiga. Currently, we have five such fires, with total area of 2,400 hectares (5,930.529 acres)," says Committee Forest Guard and Protection Division head Vladimir Letuta.
In order to prevent such blazes, 18 districts have imposed special anti-fire measures. The public has been barred from visiting the woods or working with fire.
Current weather conditions
The region has been experiencing an abnormal heatwave, with daytime temperatures rising 7 degrees above average for this period of the year, which ramps up the danger of wildfires occurring.
"Since the beginning of the spring, we have been conducting regular preventive raids in the forests, identifying those who violate the fire safety regulations. There are substantial fines for violating it. A person may face a fine of up to 7,000 rubles, while a company can be fined by up to 500,000 rubles. However, punishment is not the goal. The most important thing to note here is that any small fire can morph into a wildfire that destroys everything in its path. The situation in Yakutia is a shining example. Therefore, we urge our citizens to comply with the fire safety rules," Letuta stressed.
Since the beginning of the fire hazard period, the blazes swept across 147,000 hectares (363,244.911 acres). Last year, the total fire area in the region was 226,000 hectares (558,458.162 acres).

[JPost] - AstraZeneca's COVID-19 shot did not increase the instances of rare blood clots with low platelets in people after the second dose, a study published in the Lancet medical journal showed on Wednesday.
The data found that the estimated rate of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS) after the second dose of the vaccine, Vaxzevria, was 2.3 per million in those inoculated, comparable to the typical rate seen in those who have not been vaccinated, AstraZeneca said But what about your D*ck falling off?

I missed this detail from Rochelle Walensky’s press conference earlier but it helps explain why the CDC is suddenly nervous about vaccinated people going around unmasked.
It’s getting attention online this afternoon too, partly because Drudge is highlighting the news and partly because excited vaccine skeptics are misunderstanding what it says, I suspect. When the CDC says that the vaxxed and unvaxxed have the same viral load, they don’t mean they have the same amount throughout their bodies, including their lungs. That would mean the vaccines don’t work, which is why anti-vaxxers have perked up about it. But we already know that they work: The numbers prove that the vaccinated are at far less risk of serious illness than the unvaccinated are. Delta usually can’t get enough traction in a vaccinated person’s body to debilitate them.
What the CDC means is that the vaxxed and unvaxxed have similar amounts of viral particles in their noses and throats, making them equal risks to infect the people around them. That’s a big deal and it helps explain the change in mask guidance. If the vaccinated are as likely to infect an unvaccinated person as another unvaccinated person is then reducing infections requires everyone to mask up, not just those who haven’t had their shots. Since vaccinated don't have symptoms, they - in effect - become asymptomatic carriers (see the Wikipedia article).
It seems, what many of us have openly pondered here for months ago. In that the mRNA Vax do not stop/kill/neutralize the C19-21(A-D). The Vax could just make a person's body immune to it and potential carriers for each 14+/- day infection cycle.
So we could have 1/3+ of the US population as potential Typhoid Mary's walking, shopping, handling food and flying around in the USA.
BTW: I agree with #5.
We just don't want to be forced to take something we don't fully trust and even the experts are not sure of the long range implications & issues yet.

Speaking of scientific credibility... despite a whole lot of recent problems, I was able to find, this weekend, a physical copy of the PDR from 2017 that had dosage information for HCQ. Its recommended emergency dosage for malaria treatment was 1600 mg over the first 48 hours.
I think the scientific study you linked a couple weeks back had the patients taking 2800 mg over the first 48 hours.
As near as I can tell, the study was giving the patients a lethal dose of the drug but not acknowledging it and pretending to prove it doesn't work.
I don't expect you to take my word for it, but I took pictures and video, or alternatively, you could go to a library (if they're open there) and look it up for yourself.
(I have to go off now to get my bank account fixed and my car fixed, TTYL).

It is susally interesting to read past the posted teaser. To wit -
Some researchers believe that the high viral load in vaccinated people with Delta may include lots of dead viral particles, which might still show up in a test despite having already been neutralized by the immune response provoked by vaccination. The CDC evidently believes differently.

Also - If you’re going to mask, wear a real mask. A piece of fabric from CVS won’t do much to prevent infecting others with a variant that produces a thousand times as many viral particles as the original SARS-CoV-2 did. Wear an N95. They’re widely available — for the moment.
I have a washable Sonovia mask, myself. Better dust it off, I guess.

Dr. Leana Wen — “New data suggests that fully vaccinated individuals are not just contracting COVID, but could be carrying higher levels of virus than previously understood, facilitating spread.”
I cited facts from various respected medical sources and vendors in the case on masks.
eg. When the C-19/21A-D is smaller than the filtering design of the mostly used paper masks. Is it SAFE as stated? HELL NO!
Given any virus can infect via the Eyes. So how is a paper mask helping other than reducing how far an infected person discharge carries?
Why weren't face shields required?
Shouldn't the mandate be, that the infected MUST wear a protective coverings instead?
If masks worked, then why were we told for 11+ months a simple surgical paper mask was enough... suddenly we needed to wear double masks?
Why 6ft Social Distancing, when the CDC's own pre-2019 Flu data shows Viruses travel up to 12 ft via Sneeze or cough?
Despite being told otherwise, we now know the virus could remain in the air for up 1 hour in closed room/office areas. So does Social Distancing work in a ER, doctors office or waiting room?
Why were we told early on it was a BAT and now we all know factually its was the WUHAN Lab $$$$ sponsored by guess who?
Why were we told it lives on any surface 12 to 24 hours? When its a Virus which quickly dies if not in contact with a suitable living BIOLOGIC source.
If it is so bad, then why are we permitted to dispose of possible C-19/21A-D infected masks and tissues in the general garbage or toilet that ends up at the City dump or treatment facilities?
Is the C-19/21A-D real? HELL Yes!
Does it kill Older persons and those with existing Medical issues? HELL Yes!
Does it kill in the numbers reported in the USA? Questionable.
Did it have the 4.3% mortality rate as predicted in 2020 by the experts?
NO! It was less than 2.4+/-% AND ONLY IF you were part 2.6+/-% that got infected. An that mortality rate was BEFORE the VAX was available and issued.
So given all the BS, false or mistaken facts generated by THEMPEOPLE in charge to LOOK like they had a handle on it, or for political reasons. It has left too many feeling played and dis trustful of THEMPEOPLE.
p.s. Proper way to present scientific evidence - or any evidence - is to cite the source. So the reader can check for her/himself and NOT rely on your reputation. Because "I cited facts from various respected medical sources and vendors in the case on masks." has the same validity as "I'm the Galactic Overlord".
That said, believe what you wish - just don't try claiming that it's an objective fact.

Paper Surgical or “Procedure” Masks DO NOT offer the needed level of filtering. "These masks are not as effective at filtering out small particles like viruses and bacteria..."Surgical masks with ear loops only provided 38.1 percent filtration.
1 & 2 Ply Cloth Masks - Reusable cloth masks are not as effective in the prevention of infection as N95 respirators or surgical masks. This is because the pores in woven materials are larger than 0.3 microns and cannot, therefore, filter out all of the droplets containing viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, in which the viral particle size is 0.125 microns.
SUMMARY: N-95 or better YES. Cloth Masks & Paper Surgical NO or IFY

“It’s possible that some people who are fully vaccinated could get COVID-19,” a CDC spokesperson told the New York Times. “The evidence isn’t clear whether they can spread the virus to others. We are continuing to evaluate the evidence.” Dr. Peter Bach, director of the Center for Health Policy and Outcomes at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, said confusion about bulletproof immunity could lead to Americans refusing to wear a mask after getting the jabs.
