[BIZPACREVIEW] Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky called racism an "epidemic" — a claim frequently made by leftist academics.
In a statement released on April 8, Walensky — a former Harvard Medical School professor — said racism represents a "serious public health threat."
The pains of COVID-19 "are felt, most severely, in communities of color — communities that have experienced disproportionate case counts and deaths, and where the social impact of the pandemic has been most extreme," she said, "Yet, the disparities seen over the past year were not a result of COVID-19."
"Instead," she continued, "the pandemic...revealed for all of America a known, but often unaddressed, epidemic impacting public health: racism."
Walensky expanded the classical definition of racism to include the claim that discrimination is endemic to American society — another trademark claim of the American left.
"Racism is not just the discrimination against one group based on the color of their skin or their race or ethnicity, but the structural barriers that impact racial and ethnic groups differently to influence where a person lives, where they work, where their children play, and where they worship and gather in community," she said. "These social determinants of health have life-long negative effects on the mental and physical health of individuals in communities of color."
Walensky’s blurb announced that the CDC will "expand the body of evidence on how racism affects health," make "new and expanded investments in racial and ethnic minority communities" with COVID-19 funding, and launch a new web portal, Racism and Health.
Although refusing to use the exact term, Walensky’s claim is fundamentally identical to leftist academics’ insistence that racism is a "public health crisis."

Well, it has shown it can't do the job it was created for, the creatures need to find something else to justify their existence.
Of course it is. For the Wakandans it's a scam as usual, but for their white snowflake apologists and admirers it's a mass psychosis. And entertainment and academia are complicit in propagating it.
[TaiwanNews] Health Minister Chen Shih-chung (陳時中) revealed Wednesday (Feb. 17) that Germany's BioNTech has called off its coronavirus vaccine deal with Taiwan due to pressure from China.
Chen remarked that the Taiwanese officials had been surprised by the last-minute cancellation since each side had finished reviewing the other's press release. He believes political factors played a part in BioNTech's change of heart, hinting that the company's Chinese partner, Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (上海復星醫藥), had voiced opposition to the deal.
Taiwan's Health Minister Chen Chih-chung confirmed that the deal to buy COVID vaccines from BNT of Germany is almost impossible. Meanwhile, the procurement of Moderna vaccines, which from USA thus without political disruption, has been completed. https://t.co/2fo94M3mOc
[The Hill] Cindy McCain on Sunday called the GOP-backed election audit in Arizona "ludicrous."
McCain, a pretend prominent Arizona Republican and the wife of late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), appeared on CNN's "State of the Union" and was asked by host Jake Tapper about the audit.
"Listen, this whole thing is ludicrous, quite frankly. It's ludicrous. And this also comes from a state party in Arizona that refused to be audited themselves on votes that were cast within their own party communications," Cindy McCain said.
"The election is over. [President] Biden won," she added. "I know many of them don't like the outcome, but, you know, elections have consequences. And so ... this does not surprise me, you know, that things are just aloof and crazy out there right now with regards to the election."
It was reported in April that the Arizona state Senate had hired a security consulting company, Cyber Ninjas, to head a forensic audit of votes in Maricopa County. Biden won Maricopa County, ultimately flipping Arizona and winning its 11 electoral votes.

Yeah, probably nothing. Just some accounting irregularities. However, the way the Democrats are freaking out and digging in their heels does tend to make a man a mite suspicious.

Crap like this is why you and yer daddy are considered vermin....I don't care what McCain did in Vietnam, that legacy got squandered into the negative column by his political career.

The auditors have made it clear that AZ was certified and their results wont' change that. That this is just to find issues to fix for next time. There is zero reason anyone should be against that sort of thing unless they are afraid a big can of worms might be exposed.

There is something going on when the these RINOS that has a hook in theses people. I am thinking off shore accounts some where for collecting huge money under the table to support DNC policy.

Ms. McCain evidently lacks the political awareness to realize her comments and interventions only act to provide reinforcement to the already curious, as well as those seeking justice.
So like her departed husband, silence would have been a virtue, but pride and arrogance stood in the way.
Virtue signaling RINOs are making sure that their corporate, consulting, and other business contracts remain intact under the new Woke-RaceCommunist regime and that the money keeps rolling in.
[REDSTATE] Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) recently became the latest Democrat to repudiate the notion that America is a racist nation. The "everything is racist" crowd might not exactly be enthused about this news, but it is a positive sign for sane Americans on both sides.
During an interview with Greta Van Susteren on "Full Court Press," that is set to air on Sunday, Clyburn affirmed the fact that the United States is not a nation overflowing with drooling bigots. When asked if he agreed with Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) on his recent comments, Clyburn responded: "Yes, I do agree with that. That's not the problem. That's a red herring."
He added: "The problem you got in this country is that there are jurisdictions that do in fact pass racist legislation and whether or not we are going to condone that."
“Cleaning up the vote is racist, enforcing cis-hetero norms is racist, blocking Critical Race Theory training is racist...” he added.
The representative did state that while America is not a racist nation, there are still racists in the country.
"Look, America was not racist when they elected Barack Obama I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody... president or Kamala Harris Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's former mistress, then a senatrix from California, former 2020 Dem presidential hopeful, and now Joe Biden's wing nut. She's displaying her level of competence in her handling of the Biden Border Surge the vice president. No, but there were a lot of racists out there involved in those campaigns, and we're seeing them today," he said. "Are we going to coddle racists, or are we going to deal with the racists?"
“Anyone who votes against a Black Democrat candidate for anything is racist. But voting against a Black Republican is anti-racist, ‘cause they aren’t really Black.”
Clyburn's comments come as Democrats are perpetuating the lie that voting laws that have been put forth and passed in some states will disproportionately prevent black Americans from voting. Since Georgia passed its voting laws earlier this month, Democrats have been claiming without evidence that these measures are specifically designed to prevent black people from voting.
The politician argued against claims that the proposed laws are necessary to protect election integrity due to the outcome of the 2020 election. "It's not accurate at all. There's been no cheating taking place," he said. "This is just crazy stuff."
The representative is not the only Democratic leader who agreed with Sen. Scott. Vice President Kamala Harris made similar statements during an appearance on ABC News.
"First of all, no, I don't think America is a racist country, but we also do have to speak the truth about the history of racism in our country and its existence today," she said.
Sen. Scott caused much wailing and gnashing of teeth and a whole lot of whitesplaining when he dared to suggest that America is not a racist country during his rebuttal to President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem mschine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family... 's speech on Wednesday. "America is not a racist country" he said, adding that "race is not a political weapon to settle every issue the way one side wants."
The progressive smear machine went into full force after Scott made his comments. So-called progressive influencers responded by lying about the senator's remarks, pretending that he said racism does not exist. Of course, they forgot to acknowledge that he mentioned the bigotry he experienced as a black man in America.
It is also worth noting that neither Clyburn nor Harris elicited the same level of outrage for agreeing with Sen. Scott's statements. If I didn't know any better, I might be tempted to believe these people don't believe their own arguments and were only feigning outrage when a Republican dared to suggest that the United States isn't the racist stronghold they would have us believe it is.
[BIZPACREVIEW] Republican Susan Wright on Saturday advanced to a runoff in the race to represent Texas’s 6th Congressional District, while other candidates continued to vie for the second spot.
Wright was seen as the frontrunner in the race, scoring a coveted endorsement from former President Trump.
"Susan Wright will be a terrific Congresswoman (TX-06) for the Great State of Texas. She is the wife of the late Congressman Ron Wright, who has always been supportive of our America First Policies," Trump said in a statement earlier this week.
Nearly two dozen candidates were competing in the crowded blanket primary. Because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, a runoff will be held no earlier than May 24 between the two top vote-getters.
As of late Saturday night, fellow Republican Jake Ellzey and Democrat Jana Lynne Sanchez were the top candidates behind Wright.

[NYPOST] A crowd of over 2,000 GOP delegates booed "traitor" Willard Mitt Romney, aka Pierre Delecto ...former governor of Massachussetts, the Publican nominee for president in 2012, now Senator from Utah. He is the son of the former governor of Michigan, George Romney, who himself ran for president after saving American Motors from failure, though not permanently. Romney has a record as a successful businessman, heading Bain Capital, and he rescued the 2002 Winter Olympics from the midst of bribery and mismanagement scandals. He is currently a trans Republican and a member in good standing of the Never Trump Party, attempting to assume the mantle of the late John McCain... Saturday as the Utah senator addressed his party’s 2021 state convention, where a censure over his two impeachment votes narrowly failed to pass.
"Aren’t you embarrassed?" Romney said as he was greeted with a chorus of catcalls when he took the stage at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.
"I’m a man who says what he means, and you know I was not a fan of our last president’s character issues," said Romney, who was loudly reminded that he was the only Republican senator to vote to convict former President Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... in his first impeachment, and one of seven to vote to convict in the second impeachment following the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.
Delegates tried to shout Romney down, calling him a "traitor" and "communist."
Romney, 74, stood his ground. "You can boo all you like," the former governor of Massachusetts said. "I’ve been a Republican all of my life. My dad was the governor of Michigan and I was the Republican nominee for president in 2012."
The party rejected a motion, 798-711, to censure Romney for his pair of impeachment votes.

Mitt is just an old era Democrat that knows he has absolutely no chance in the new Socialist Party. So, like many, he steals a safe seat from the conservatives. Then he acts like the old Democrats by doing the exact same pandering with the people who killed classical liberalism in the old party.

I went to see Romney at the local airport prior to the 2012 election. I voted for him thinking he was the lesser of two evils. Today, I would not waste the gas and time going to boo and jeer him.

I’ve been a Republican all of my life.
A prince, born to The Show.

I suspect Mitt has been riding on Daddy's goodwill along with his Central Casting Mormon niceness for some time now. George Romney was a *very* popular Republican governor in blue-state Michigan.

I wouldn't bring up that last bit. It's poor salesmanship.

He rode the coattails of many businesses that were already successful when he and Bain Capital bought them up. They were already successful not because of him.
[THEHILL] Moderate Republican Sen. Susan Collins (Maine) said on Sunday that she would not support the proposed 28 percent corporate tax rate in President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity....... ’s $2.25 trillion infrastructure plan, saying jobs would be lost.
On CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who knows what it might stand for... 's "State of the Union," host Jake Tapper asked Collins how much she would be willing to compromise on Biden's plan.
"Well, at this point, I think now that the Republicans have put forth a reasonable offer, it's up to the president to do a counteroffer to us," Collins said, noting that the cost of Biden's recent proposals totaled more than $4 trillion.
"That's the amount that we spent to win World War II," Collins said. "So this is an enormous package when you take both the traditional core infrastructure parts and the huge expansion of social programs that the president is advocating."
Tapper noted that Collins has voiced some support for raising the corporate tax rate in order to help pay for Biden's infrastructure plan, asking how much of an increase she would consider.
"Let me tell you what I won't to support. I won't support American businesses paying the highest corporate tax rate among developed countries in the world once again, and, unfortunately, that's what 28 percent would be," Collins said. "And that means that jobs would once again go overseas. So I think we need to look at a wide variety of pay-fors, but first we need to determine the scope of the bill, and we need to determine what the top line is going to be."

Eco-101 Businesses and Corporation don't pay taxes.
Consumers Pay the Taxes.
Because any tax added to a business only gets passed along to the purchaser.
An I thought these Socialist-Democrats were an suppose to be a College educated bunch.
BTW: (Rough figures) A middle Class worker making 50-60kK a year likely pays over 25+% in State/Fed Income/SS taxes.
Then likely another 20+% in hidden taxes at they purchase products like food, clothing, electricity, Gas, Car Tags, Property Taxes, Public transit taxes, and etc...
#2
/\ Exactly correct. Corporations pass along the cost of doing business. Not unlike their corporate office HVAC costs, taxes are a cost of doing business.
Taxes never end on a simple piece of lumber such as a 2x4. From the harvesting, trucking, milling and processing, retailing, and delivery. Once the 2x4 becomes a 3 bedroom home, school and property taxes continue ad infinitum. Taxes upon taxes, upon taxes. An ingenious government ponzi scheme.

The knee-jerk hoi polloi will always clamor for higher taxes on corporations.
The smarter among them realize how it works; that the higher taxes are passed along to the consumer. But that ultimately gives them an opportunity for: more taxes, and more control.
Trying to fix what they broke with more of what they used to break it.

much of the world has a Value Added Tax (apprx - Canada 5%, PRChina 17%, Mexico 15%, Britain and Germany about 20%)
hurts the poor but it is relatively easily to collect and easy to adjust

The price of gasoline has gone up and for many that was a surprise. Corporate taxes will get passed on unless the corporation goes belly-up because no one can afford its products. Biden's tax plan is going to wreck the economy.
Senator Collin's Rino (Dem lite) positions have not helped to curb the Progressive onslaughts.
