[Just the News] Nine months into a relentless effort to spy on Carter Page with the most awesome surveillance tools the U.S. possesses, the FBI had no proof the former Trump adviser had colluded with Russia to hijack the 2016 election.
In fact, the bureau hid from the FISA court the fact that it knew Page was actually a U.S. asset who had helped the CIA and that in a secret recording with an informant he had denied all the core allegations against him with significant proof.
But it wanted to keep spying on its target for another three months. So what did the FBI cough up to the FISA judge to keep up its surveillance and its now-debunked claim that Page might be a Russian agent of influence?
The FBI actually argued that Page's lawful exercise of his First Amendment rights — he was giving media interviews and considering writing a book — might be proof he was carrying out a Russian plot, according to a newly declassified version of the final FISA warrant reviewed by Just the News.
"The FBI also notes that Page continues to be active in meeting with media outlets to promote his theories of how U.S. foreign policy should be adjusted with regard to Russia and also to refute claims of his involvement with Russian government efforts to influence the 2016 US presidential election," the once top-secret FISA application read on page 57.
"The FBI believes that Page may have been instructed by Russian officials to aggressively deny, especially in the media, any Russian involvement with the 2016 U.S. presidential election. The FBI believes this approach is important because, from the Russian government's point of view, it continues to keep the controversy of the election in front of the American and world medium, which has the effect of undermining the integrity of the US electoral process and weakening the effectiveness of the current US administration.

[AlphaNewsMN] Two Wisconsin Republicans introduced legislation in the U.S. House called the "OMAR Act," a bill that would prevent political candidates from using campaign cash "to enrich their spouses."
"For too long, lawmakers of both political parties have engaged in the ethically dubious practice of pocketing campaign funds by ’hiring’ their spouses and laundering the money as campaign related expenses," said Rep. Tom Tiffany, who represents Wisconsin’s Seventh Congressional District.
On Friday, he and Rep. Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin’s Eighth Congressional District introduced the Oversight for Members And Relatives Act, called the "OMAR Act" for short. It's a start, but amend it to include All relatives - You can call it the Mad Maxine Amendment (MMA)
[CBS] President Biden said the exodus of millions of women from the labor force and the closing of schools —along with the mental health issues for children that could arise — during the COVID-19 pandemic constitute a "national emergency."
"CBS Evening News" anchor and managing editor Norah O'Donnell spoke to Mr. Biden in the first network news interview he has given since his inauguration.
"It is a national emergency. It genuinely is a national emergency," Mr. Biden said. Nearly 3 million women have left the workforce over the past year.
The president said he and his staff realized the Trump administration's handling of the pandemic was "even more dire than we thought" once they entered the White House.
"We thought they had indicated there was a lot more vaccine available," Mr. Biden said. "And didn't turn out to be the case. So that's why we've ramped up every way we can."
Dr. Anthony Fauci, Mr. Biden's chief medical adviser and the top infectious disease doctor in the country, has said that to get herd immunity, 75% of Americans have to be vaccinated. At the current rate of 1.3 million vaccines a day, CBS News has calculated 75% of Americans won't be vaccinated until the end of 2021.

I imagine the Secret Service, for whom i have great fondness since my father was on the Presidential detail for Roosevelt and then Truman from 1940-1946, will have troubles In keeping the stories about Joe out of the press for long. It’s obvious he is clueless puppet for the Obamaworld cartel and China, but he is going to blunder into something even they cant cover. The key will be noticing no female agents in the interior ring of the PPD.
[Stars & Stripes] WASHINGTON — The cost of having National Guard troops protect the area around the U.S. Capitol will cost nearly $500 million, the Pentagon's chief spokesman said Monday.
Pentagon officials estimate the Guard mission in Washington through March 15 supporting federal agencies protecting the Capitol building will cost $483 million, John Kirby told reporters.
Of that, $284 million will cover personnel costs and $199 million will cover operations costs, Kirby said. The Army National Guard's personnel costs are projected to be $256 million and $165 million for operations. For the Air National Guard, the estimate is $28 million will be spent for personnel costs and $34 million for operational costs.

Sez somethin' momentous:
Those armies you lent us?

[Hot Air] All of the top presidentially appointed federal prosecutors will get pink slips in the mail as early as today, a fairly usual part of any change of administrations. Excuse me, I meant to write that it’s fairly usual when a Democrat comes into the White House. Asking appointees to clear out their desks is a scandal when a Republican takes over the presidency, at least in the media.

Two lucky members of the club will get a pass, however — because Joe Biden doesn’t want to look corrupt:
The hall pass given to John Durham and David Weiss is far more interesting, politically if not legally.
Durham’s probe involves the partisanship and politicization of the FBI and DoJ during Operation Crossfire Hurricane and the FBI’s potential spying on a major-party presidential candidate. ... If Biden removed Durham at this point, especially with the public record of Crossfire Hurricane already at its present stage, it wouldn’t suggest “partiality” — it would smell of a cover-up.
That’s even more obviously true with Weiss, whose investigation involves the Biden family directly. The DoJ’s Hunter Biden probe got partially exposed by the New York Post before the election and confirmed shortly afterward by William Barr.

They are so arrogant and certain of the permanence of the coup that the need to disguise corruption and payoff is disappearing. This and the introduction of secret ballots moments before the impeachment starts made feel like watching soviet government at work in the Union of Soviet States of America.
[BPR] William J. Burns, who is President Joe Biden’s nominee for director of the CIA, is president of a think tank that has received up to $2 million from a Chinese businessman as well as from a think tank with close ties to the Chinese Communist Party.
As president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Burns also invited nearly a dozen congressional staffers to attend a junket to China, where they met with a communist party operative and a president of a Chinese front group.
William J. Burns, the nominee for CIA director, is the president of a prominent think tank that has received as much as $2 million in recent years from a Chinese businessman and a think tank with links to the Chinese Communist Party.
As part of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace’s work with China, Burns invited a group of congressional staffers on a junket to China in 2019 where they met with a professor who works for the Chinese Communist Party’s central committee. They also met with the president of a prominent Chinese front group.
Zhang Yichen, a Carnegie board member and prominent donor, is a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, which advises the Chinese Communist Party on policy issues.

[BPR] Squad member Rep. Ayanna Pressley stated on Thursday that she was "shocked" that allowing 16-year-olds to vote would be such a "polarizing" issue.
Pressley (D-MA) has long been an advocate for lowering the legal voting age to 16. She discussed the issue during a Facebook Live segment with Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) and author Ibram Kendi.
"Dr. Kendi, I was shocked by how polarizing an issue this was, and listen, when I would tell people [the late Rep.] John Lewis is an original co-sponsor of this — you know, our young people deserve to have a stakeholder in our democracy," Pressley said to Kendi, who brought racism into the mix.
Kendi double-downed on the race issue and stated that one of the areas he frequently addresses is the "disenfranchisement" of black and brown Americans.
[LI] President Joe Biden’s administration is excepted to join the United Nations Human Rights Council, a body governed by rogue regimes. It is notorious for denouncing the United States and its allies, particularly Israel.
President Donald Trump withdrew the U.S. from the rights body in June 2018. The then-U.S. envoy to the UN, Nikki Haley, described the council as a "hypocritical" body which "makes a mockery of human rights." As Haley pointed out, the UNHRC’s "disproportionate focus and unending hostility toward Israel" served as a "clear proof that the council is motivated by political bias, not by human rights."
The 47-member U.N. rights council, which comprises a rotating membership of Islamic Sharia-governed states, Socialist dictatorships, and other failing Third-World nations, is obsessed with the Jewish State. According to an estimate, about 25 percent of all condemnation resolutions passed by the body were against Israel. Similar anti-Israel resolutions were passed in 2020 as well.
The Biden White House, stacked with former President Barack Obama staffers, now wants the U.S. to ’re-engage’ with this discredited and morally corrupt body.
[ZERO] On Monday afternoon, House Dems released a draft of their fiscal package. Amid the top highlights is that Biden is going for the full $1.9T and is not succumbing to pressure to reduce the size of the bill to accommodate the GOP nor centrist lawmakers who may be at-risk in 2022 elections. Further, the timing appears to be Feb 22 to get a bill completed and sent for a floor vote with the goal of putting the bill into law by early/mid-March.
Following criticism that Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion stimulus package would benefit the rich, House Democrats agreed that individuals earning more than $100,000 and couples with income above $200,000 will not be eligible for direct payments. Draft legislation released Monday by the House Ways and Means Committee (full summary below) called for $1,400 payments for single people earning $75,000 or married couples earning $150,000. The checks will now completely phase out for individuals making $100,000 or joint taxpayers making $200,000.
The payments will scale down more quickly than previous rounds, where the top levels were determined by the size of the payment and the number of children in the household. The first round of checks, approved in the Cares Act last March, started at $1,200 before they began phasing out.

Screw the $1400. Bailing out blue state pensions is what gets my goat. I know it's a fantasy but they should live with the consequences of their bad decisions.

[Washington Examiner] Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said during a post-Super Bowl press conference on Monday that the police department is seeking to identify people who celebrated the big game without a mask.
"I’m proud to say that the majority of individuals that I saw out and about enjoying the festivities associated with the Super Bowl were complying," Castor said. "I’m proud of our community, but those few bad actors will be identified, and the Tampa Police Department will handle it."
Castor, a Democrat, implemented a mask mandate in Tampa on Friday, two days before the big game.
"This is an emergency now," Castor said. "I’m willing to put a mandatory mask ordinance for the city of Tampa right now to protect citizens."
Castor's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Washington Examiner.
Social media erupted on Sunday following reports that many Super Bowl watchers and attendees weren’t wearing masks or social distancing, and some health officials warned of a possible superspreader event.
